A fairly typical Japanese/Chinese restaurant. Decorations were fairly typical as well with paper lamps and Chinese prints on the wall. I've always wondered who sells these restaurants the menu board. They all look exactly the same with pictures of the plate above the register I will say, the food was very good and was served quickly. read more

My son loved his orange chicken and said he would order it again but take into consideration that he is only 4 and its sugar coated orange flavored chicken. I can not each chicken so I can't give an honest review of that dish. The shrimp however was overcook with soggy breading. This could be due to the fact that its curb side pickup and the shrimp steamed inside of the togo container until I got home. The shrimp had entirely to much breading and because it was soggy in some parts it was pretty hard to force down. The fried rice isn't actually fried its steamed with some soy sauce mixed in. It wasn't bad if you like steamed rice with veggies and shrimp. The shrimp in the rice was cooked perfectly. The coconut shrimp soup was more like a lemon grass soup with mushrooms green onions and exactly two shrimps. The shrimp was again overcooked and rubbery. The soup did have great flavor but was definitely not coconut and would have been better without the shrimp. They earned 1 star for the rice being tasty and another for the coconut sauce that was packaged separately from the fried shrimp. It was so good! I will definitely try this place again but I'll be requesting steamed shrimp instead of fried for the coconut sauce and I'll try a different soup. My kiddo was happy and I didn't have to cook so that's a win in my book. read more

I've been visiting Burnsville for over 20 years and last night was my first time trying this restaurant. I'm glad I avoided it for this long. I'm from Miami, so I'm not going to compare it to NY Chinese food but it was so far from what I've ever eaten I have nothing to compare it to. The food was terrible, had no flavor, and I'm worried I'm going to pay for this in more than one way. We had wonton soup, coconut soup, egg drop, hibachi chicken and shrimp pepper steak, honey garlic chicken, some egg rolls, and that's all I can recall. Nothing was good or memorable. The fried rice wasn't even fried. There's was no pork in the rice so that should give you an idea of what was like. Stay away. It was actually busy and I'm the locals love it but you could get more authentic Chinese from Ingles down the street. read more

I love this place, if you go around lunch time it's the best, I usually walk-in and order a to-go plate and while they're fixing my food I go next door and check out Rose's, it usually only takes 10-15 minutes for anything they cook and the staff is almost always smiling. Located in a strip mall, Little Tokyo offers dine-in and carry-out. The menu is typical for Asian restaurants -- large and extensive offerings. Our best results have been with the hibachi offerings, but recent daily specials have proven to be good values. We've always had good, fresh items here, and for the most part they have been well done. I've yet to experience the too long held spring roll, the bane of many an Asian shop. Last week LT was offering scallion-chicken stir fry with rice and soup for $8. This proved so good that we ordered it twice during the week. Hot and sour soup was flavorful and full of veggies and tofu, and not overly thickened. Try the fried wonton -- a commercial prep but always freshly fried. The atmosphere is austere, but service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner, 7 days. read more

We were passing through town on business and stopped here for dinner. My husband, the hot and sour soup snob, liked their's very much. It had a beef base which is his favorite. You see 'Little Tokyo' and you think Japanese food, right? Wrong!!! A better name would have been 'Little Asia.' Oh they have a couple of token Japanese items on the menu that even my 10 year old grandson could make with a jar of special sauce from the grocery store. Cooked carrots with brown sugar is not even asian. This place could not compete with most store front, strip mall, asian carryout places. Better-than average Chinese and Japanese food. It maybe called "Little Tokyo," but like many Asian restaurants these days, they do a little of everything. For dishes that are supposed to be spicy (e.g. General Tso's chicken), you'll need to tell them extra spicy or it will be just sweet. The staff who take orders are VERY friendly and are the younger relatives (older teens) of the owners. Pork fried rice is great. Egg drop soup is good. What I got was some tiny pork pieces in a very heavy batter that looked grey in color, (indicative of old oil and fried too cold), with a side of sweet & sour sauce. What I expected was nice size pork pieces covered with a sweet & sour sauce with perhaps some pineapple - NOT SO. I tried to separate the pork from the overwhelming batter, but useless. meh. Well it's the only Chinese food restaurant in town, so I guess I can say it's the best in town. I ordered: -chicken fried rice...not so great...had no egg and rice wasn't browned -fried wonton- this was ok but they can't really mess that up. -steamed dumplings- I liked them! -Tokyo Rolls - terrible! they're supposed to be tiny spring rolls...I'll just say Yuck, I took a bite and threw the rest out! I didn't overeat and now I find myself not feeling great 2 hours after eating. Also... as I was waiting for my food I heard a woman come in and complain that something she ordered was not good. Management only offered her 50% off the same dish. The woman told them they had just lost a customer....not the best way to treat customers. The décor is slightly bad and there is a gross dust filled ceiling fan when you first walk-in. I think the only reason they're still in business is that they are the only show in this one-horse town. read more

This is the best Asian place I've eaten at in this town... because it's the only one. I walk in and the place smells like day old sushi only to find a little Chinese lady sitting here eating a friggin boiled egg. All 3 foot 7 inches of her stood and told me to "sihhh wha eye leye". So I sat down and the waitress brings me a straw which still had the butt on it from the factory, I tried to bite it off so I could sip my sweet tea but it failed. Everything came on a plate you'd see in every single Asian grill in the country, those standard fuckjerry kinda plates. I recommend coming after lunch so the boiled egg smell dies down wafting from the little Asian ladies breath. Besides that, the food was a solid 6. 10/10 would try again. read more

I have lived in the Burnsville area for four years now. And it is a wonderful town with great people. However, it really offends me when people like Ron M. degrade small businesses such as Little Tokyo. From my multiple experiences at Little Tokyo I have NEVER EVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED! The service there is AWESOME and the owners are wonderful people. Also, if you look at other reviews you can tell that most people love Little Tokyo. Also when. I talked to the owners just the other day they said they have owned multiple restaurants but chose to have one in Burnsville because of the people and it was a great place to raise their children too. So before you decide against eating at Little Tokyo because of Ron M. Review please check other reviews on different sites before knocking out this as an option for dinner! read more
