So lucky and happy to have this preschool for our 3 year old. We knew Belinda since my 11 young was a toddler..over the years she has shown amazing skills with so many little ones..it's a team of 4 great ladies who complement each other perfectly. It's a small cozy environment where kids have fun, learn, and respect each other...big outside play area which I love..feels like a big family.

The day we went to meet Karine and visited the daycare we immediately felt a sense of relief that we had found the perfect spot to care for our little one. My son is now 3 1/2 years old and is still attending - he just completed the preschool program. He has grown into a smart, loving and healthy boy thanks to Karine and her staff. My family and friends are always shocked when they see my son eat his vegetables and request for broccoli! We owe his positive development to this amazing place. Every day we pick him up he's always so happy. Teacher Rena has seen him grow since he was a baby and treats him as if he were her own. Teacher Emma receives him with such warmth and kindness every morning. Irina is Karine's mom and she makes the most delicious food for the kids, you often smell the wonderful home cooked meals during drop offs. I can't recommend this place enough! They keep the place so clean, have wonderful activities, celebrate birthdays and holidays, enjoy water games during the summer, hold music and exercise classes. As a first time mom, I'm so thankful for the help, support, guidance and recommendations Karine has given me every step of the way and throughout each milestone my son has accomplished. And as a working mom, there is no better relief than to trust my son is in a safe and loving environment for the entire day. We love LPDC and are so lucky we have them in our lives! Now - how do we stop our kid from growing so he can stay here even longer? :)

The teachers are kind, warm-hearted, and very attentive to the children. My daughter was always happy to go to daycare, which as a parent says so much. I loved that their days were filled with a great variety of activities -- learning through games, cooking activities, creative projects in the classroom, and plenty of active play outdoors. She was always busy, engaged, and excited to tell me about her day. I was also very happy with the food they provided. My daughter loves to eat, so this was definitely important to us! She always came home full and happy, and I really appreciated the variety of meals and snacks offered throughout the day. After two years, we are leaving with so many warm memories. It's a wonderful feeling to know that your child is spending her day in a place where she feels happy, comfortable, cared for, and loved. This was his first daycare experience, and Shusha took him in and treated him as her own. His language and social skills blossomed right away. He had always been a very picky eater, but he loved Ms Mariam's cooking, and was always trying new and unexpected foods for the first time. Shusha was so loving and even went out of her way to personally help feed him on the days he struggled. We have since moved, and our son is now five years old. We have since attended three other wonderful schools with our two boys, but none of them compare to Shusha's school. For a nervous mom sending her son to school for the first time, it felt as if we were sending him to a warm, loving relative's home to play for the day. We still see the amazing activities she plans on social media, and think fondly of our son's time there. We are so grateful to Shusha and her team to have had the perfect first school experience.

Leaving our son with Mangala and her staff was the closest thing we could find to dropping him off at grandma's house, which is exactly the homey, safe environment we were looking for. Our son started a few weeks before his first birthday. He learned so much in the 1.5 years we spent there and transitioned from 2 naps to 1. Not only that, but he LOVED being there. Most days it took me over 10 minutes to get him to leave because he was always having so much fun. It was very clear to us that our son loved being there and that Mangala loved him like family. We KNEW he was safe and loved and well cared for and challenged every day. Our family recently left Los Angeles, which is the only reason why we stopped sending our son to First Steps, and leaving this daycare was one of the most difficult things about moving. In fact, my son still asks us almost every day when he can go back to Auntie's house and when he can see Auntie, her helpers, and all of the friends he made. Thank you, Mangala for the work you do with these kids, and we would absolutely recommend her care to other parents.

We ultimately chose Little Sunshine because it came highly recommended by people we trusted--including several close friends and two moms whose own sons attended there. Those recommendations couldn't have been more accurate. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made, and now we're happy to wholeheartedly recommend it to other families. As we move on to preschool, we leave with hearts full of gratitude. Little Sunshine gave our family so much more than childcare--it gave our son his first community. He made two best friends there. We lovingly call them the "Three Amigos." Watching those friendships blossom has been one of the sweetest parts of our experience, and we sincerely hope they remain lifelong friends. From day one, Narine and the entire team welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness. You can immediately feel that Little Sunshine is a family-owned daycare where every child is truly known and loved. There is so much pride and intention behind everything they do--from the beautiful, thoughtfully maintained environment to the fresh meals, engaging learning activities, and the incredible attention each child receives at an affordable price. Narine, Tonik, Maritza, and Teacher Paola helped shape some of our son's earliest and most formative years. Having the staff speak Spanish with him was especially meaningful to our family since Spanish is his first language. Even now, he talks about his teachers and friends almost every day. Our son is a child who takes time to warm up to new people and new environments, so naturally we worried about how he would adjust. But the patience, consistency, and genuine love of the staff made all the difference. Before long, daycare became one of his favorite places to be. He was excited to go each morning, and as parents, there is no greater feeling than dropping off your child knowing they are walking into a place where they feel safe, happy, and loved. We are leaving only because preschool feels like the best next step for our family. If you're looking for a daycare where your child will feel nurtured, welcomed into a wonderful community, and encouraged to learn, we highly recommend Little Sunshine. We will forever be grateful for the role they played in our family's life.

The owners and staff have dedicated many years to this school, making a lasting difference in the lives of children across generations, and it truly shows in everything they do. My son gained so much from an early age--learning how to color, hold a pencil correctly, write his name, and even begin addition and subtraction. Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

Ms. Irma, the owner, and Ms. Ala, her assistant, are incredible caretakers who truly love what they do. My son started with them right when he turned 12 months and they both guided us through a great process of adapting to their care. I wanted a place that was small and where my son could socialize and learn, after spending his first full year at home with us. We looked for daycares for months and all were either too big for our taste with 20+ kids and lots of teachers or the small ones felt too informal. This place is a great size with just up to 7 kids that start from ages 1 year until they are ready for school. They have a classroom where they learn, have activities, nap, and also an outside area where they play. Irma and Ala keep it very clean, no one can come into the space (you are greeted at the outside gate due to health protocols) they are mindful of hygiene and make sure everyone is healthy, which is important when you are dealing with kiddos. Communication is key, and Irma sends constant texts and keeps you informed as the day progresses with the cutest pictures of the kids in their activities that range from painting or playdough, or even cooking (safely, of course). I have seen my son flourish in their care and loved that they have different ages as my baby has learned so much from the older kids as well. Every day he comes home with a new word or skill and is so happy and full of energy (and clean!) Their approach is very loving and caring, my son loves to go and gets excited as we head out every morning saying his little friends' names. You can expect home-style breakfast & lunch as well as snacks, they keep a schedule so you know what to expect as far as food + naps but are open for pickup any time as long as you don't interrupt activities.
