I added some cash into the deal. I collected vintage from estate sales inexpensively, but was totally naive as to their value. The Rolex alone had value perhaps twice the Bertolucci. It must've been clear to jewelers. I see the rate Tiffany Rolex seeking for stunning prices. I was and am still stunned Manny would take advantage of me and the family. He literally stole from me in that exchange. The Bertolucci isn't worth $1k today. When Shelle jewelers is mentioned, this story is told. Shame on Manny & son.

Also, I brought in a watch for battery replacement. They were going to hold my watch for the owner, Lisa, to replace the battery but luckily, she came in while I was still there and quickly made the repair. Also, I sold them my broken gold chain. So I still came out ahead. The owner and her staff were very nice, the jewelry cases have some gorgeous pieces, and I think it says a lot about a person if they have their dog at their establishment.

He found Glenview Jewelers (thanks Yelp) and purchased a lovely bracelet that can be worn and all times- day and night. When I first tried it on it was huge so I went back to the jeweler to get it fitted. The very sweet woman who was in the store seemed excited to meet me after mentioning she had helped my husband pick out the bracelet. They said it would take about a week to fix and would call me when it was ready. I did a little browsing of my own while in there and they have such beautiful jewelry that I can imagine it was difficult to choose one thing. When my bracelet was ready I went to pick it up twice and both times the store was closed, even though it was during their typical opening hours. It was a little annoying since it's at least a 20 minute drive to my house. I stopped by a third time when in the area and the third time was the charm because it was ready for me. It fit perfectly and I've enjoyed wearing it ever since!

She told me that they would be $50 per band, and I was very specific I wanted them before I left town over Labor Day weekend. She said no problem and she would call me when they were ready for pick up. On Friday 8/26 I called the shop after not hearing from anyone to ask if they might be ready? She left me a voicemail saying they are backed up and that it was now $75 a band. I will say the the woman I worked was professional and nice when I first went there. However, no call was made to let me know that they were even behind. To me that would've nice to know. As apparently the sizing is not done on sight. I'm disappointed as I feel they over promised and undelivered. What was communicated at the time turned out not to be. And when the owner called me to let me know my rings were back at the shop on Sat for pick up. She never apologized or tried to even save the sale. So I was disappointed all the way around. I think it's clear this store strengths centers around original designs but for the service I was looking for it fell short. As a former sales person, it's all about the service. We paid $50 extra to have the watch cleaned, so assumed they were cleaning the entire watch. When I called to ask if they could take a look at and fix the watch, they told me to bring it in and they would quote me for the fix. I pushed back and they said this happens sometimes - a watch will be cleaned and coincidentally will develop an unrelated problem. That's when I asked if something could have happened when they cleaned the watch. I was told they only cleaned the band and not the watch itself. This was not what was explained when I agreed to the cleaning. Simply stated, they asked if I wanted the watched cleaned for another $50. I think they probably meant the band but that wasn't how it was proposed to me. The quote was $275 to fix it, I find it is very odd that you drop off a perfectly working watch for appraisal and the timing mechanism develops a problem while just sitting there. I don't understanding but will give Daniel's the benefit of the doubt and agree it must have just been bad timing. I'm still happy with Daniel's Jewelry overall but have to knock off one star for the confusion around the appraisal followed by the repair.

My experience with Jules was the opposite. That is my opinion. Accept it or disregard it. I will buy here in the future **BECAUSE of Alexa and Rachel, DESPITE my interactions with Jules.** I visited the Highland Park location to have four luxury watches sized, timed, function-tested, and assessed for possible service. The store is an authorized dealer for two of the brands. I clearly explained that the watches had been purchased through reputable secondary-market sources and that I was **not** requesting formal authentication or a certificate. I simply wanted an experienced professional to examine them and tell me whether anything appeared obviously wrong. The first person I spoke with understood the distinction. She appropriately explained that official authentication would require sending the watches through service, but said they could size them, time them, and give them a general examination. When I called again to confirm that the appropriate staff would be available, Jules repeatedly interrupted me and sternly emphasized that they would not tell me the watches were "authentic." I was not asking them to do that. When I arrived, Rachel greeted me and listened to what I was requesting. Jules then called out from across the counter that she had **"ALREADY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WOULD DO--SIZE AND TIME!"** That was unnecessary, unprofessional, and embarrassing. Rachel took over and handled the situation appropriately. Alexa later assisted with the sizing. Both clearly reiterated that the store could not certify authenticity, which I completely understood, but they also gave the watches a professional look and said they did not see anything that immediately caused concern. That is all I had requested. Spotting something obviously wrong is not the same as formally certifying authenticity. Asking for one is not demanding the other. If an authorized luxury-watch dealer cannot recognize an obvious concern while handling and sizing a watch, then both the dealer and the customer have a larger problem. A relationship with a jeweler **IS A RELATIONSHIP.** It is built, cultivated, and curated over time. Every interaction either strengthens that relationship or erodes it. Luxury retailers should remember that they do not know what a customer may purchase, trade, service, or recommend in the future. The long view matters more than proving who is "right" or who is in charge. I sincerely hope this feedback is shared with Jules constructively. This is not written merely to embarrass or criticize her. If management believes my perspective has value, I hope she is given the opportunity to hear it, reflect on it, and learn from it. Everyone can have a poor interaction or an off day. What matters is what someone does with the feedback. Alexa and Rachel understood the distinction and represented the store exceptionally well. The store has a personality, its pretty quirky and I'd say (after working there for several years) that a sitcom based on this place just might work. (Oh the stories). They are genuine and honest folks who enjoy what they do and treasure the relationships that have been built over time and generations. I think the store is worth a look, as the Cullen's various interests and travels have brought some interesting pieces into the store. And there is definitely a mesmerizing collection of estate and antique jewelry (always my favorites). Oh and important to mention --- the store does not jack up prices like the chains do.
