My employer gave me a gift card to Glenview Jewelers. I found a chain to replace my delicate gold chain that I'm always repairing, as well as some silver earrings. Also, I brought in a watch for battery replacement. They were going to hold my watch for the owner, Lisa, to replace the battery but luckily, she came in while I was still there and quickly made the repair. Also, I sold them my broken gold chain. So I still came out ahead. I'm tough to surprise with gifts because I usually have an idea of exactly what I want. I must have mentioned when getting ready one day that I could use more casual bracelets and my husband took that has a hint (even though it wasn't intentional) to get me one for my bday. He found Glenview Jewelers (thanks Yelp) and purchased a lovely bracelet that can be worn and all times- day and night. When I first tried it on it was huge so I went back to the jeweler to get it fitted. The very sweet woman who was in the store seemed excited to meet me after mentioning she had helped my husband pick out the bracelet. They said it would take about a week to fix and would call me when it was ready. I did a little browsing of my own while in there and they have such beautiful jewelry that I can imagine it was difficult to choose one thing. When my bracelet was ready I went to pick it up twice and both times the store was closed, even though it was during their typical opening hours. It was a little annoying since it's at least a 20 minute drive to my house. I stopped by a third time when in the area and the third time was the charm because it was ready for me. Don't go to this place to repair your jewelry. First I had paid to resize and add a diamond to my ring, once I picked up my ring they did not add the diamond and would have charged me. I had to bring the same bracelet two times to repair. The second time I brought it in for repair she did not mention that she would charge me. Once I picked up my bracelet the owner was rude and upset because I told her she did not tell me that I would have to pay again to repair the same bracelet. Zero customer service! read more

Glenview Jewelers is as good as it gets! They replaced my watch battery in 10 minutes. Also, the stones in my wedding band sometimes need tightening. Glenview Jewelers only took a couple days for the repairs (unlike other stores that have taken up to a week). When I got the ring back, not only was it fixed, but it was sparkling like I hadn't seen in years, even after other jewelers had cleaned it. It seems to be a family business. You can tell that the owner takes pride in his work and that his daughters who work there are following in the tradition. They try to call each customer by name and are very friendly. Only downside: sometimes it seems they are a bit late opening the store, so don't plan on being there first thing in the morning. Don't let that stop you from going, though. I wish there was an option to give more stars because this place deserves them all! My husband had custom designed my engagement ring and finding a wedding band to fit the style of the engagement ring was impossible. We finally decided to make a custom wedding band and this custom work was not going to be easy because the wedding band needed to sit flush against my engagement ring (my engagement ring band is pretty wavy). I went to several jewelers who told me they could get pretty close to matching the band, but it wouldn't be perfect against the band. After breakfast, my husband and I decided to go in and talk to Glenview jewelers to get their opinion and lo and behold, Lisa and Carmen said their father could make the ring perfectly flush against the engagement ring. We waited a bit to consult back with other jewelers and then finally pulled the trigger and decided to go with them to make the wedding band. Good heavens, first of all, both Carmen and Lisa have to the nicest, sweetest and most courteous retailers I have ever worked with. They are the most helpful people I have ever worked with and patiently answered all our questions! They didn't pressure us or try and upsell us, my husband I just felt that they were being honest and had OUR best interests at heart. They even made suggestions about getting a wedding band on each side, but said that all I really needed was one and if I really wanted a second one later that I could always come back and make it later. My husband and I were shocked because another jeweler kept pushing us to also make two wedding bands, but said it would look strange with just one and kept pushing us to make both. Lisa and Carmen both have amazing dispositions and have a wonderful intuition about fitting the customer wants versus what the customer needs. They took a mold of my ring and we went back to look at the mold - it was exactly how I imagined the wedding band to sit against my engagement ring, perfectly flush. The mold was green, but just from the mold I could see that the wedding and would sit perfectly against the engagement band. I could not believe that he was able to replicate the style of my engagement ring (there are the hold on the side of the band and the father made sure to replicate every gap)and get the mold to lay completely against it! They were even super patient about the ring size and Lisa and Carmen were very patient about helping me figure out how to size the wedding band with the engagement ring as the size of my finger seems to change on a daily basis! We had to wait another week for the ring to be finished and even my husband was EXCITED to see the ring after seeing the mold. When we finally got the call to pick up the ring - IT WAS PERFECT!!!! I was ELATED at how the ring turned out. It is stunning and their father was so good about designing the ring that it didn't take away from my engagement stone. The wedding band compliments my engagement ring beautifully. I WAS ECSTATIC! It was exactly how I pictured the band. It was the best jeweler experience I have ever had. From the very beginning, first meeting Carmen and Lisa (and their super cute terrier) all the way to finally having the ring made, the entire experience was professional, personable and reliable. As another yelper said, it is evident that it is a family run business and the family takes great pride in producing QUALITY work. I cannot be happier with their service and will be returning shortly to have the other band made (hahahaha)! On a sidenote, the ring was made at such an amazing price that my husband even wants the second wedding band made. This jeweler really takes the time to offer the best service and it is shown in all their work as they strive for quality and ensuring that the customer feels welcomed and respected. After adjusting the time on my Cartier watch, I didn't push the stem all the way in and got water inside. I called the Cartier store downtown, and they told me it would be $450 just to assess the watch and dry it out. I came to Glenview Jewelers where they completed that work for about $50. They initially thought it was going to be a $600 repair for a new control board, but after a thorough cleaning and prolonged drying process, they were able to fix it for $100. They are very polite. I have a white gold engagement ring and wedding band. One of the prongs from my engagement ring was gone and a small diamond from my halo fell out. They fixed it and made my set look brand new. They were very helpful when answering questions. My experience has been so bad that I could not even think about Glenview Jewelers without getting upset, so I am basically posting this review to at least help one person not to go what I went through: 1. Glenview Jewelers sized a diamond ring. After 2 weeks I almost lost the diamond because it became loose. This should have been a red flag! 2. I took my grandmothers 2 diamond rings for them to make my daughter earrings from one of the rings and a custom pendant from the other ring. They were to use my diamonds and for me to pay for the difference for the gold and for labor.They were supposed to call me with an estimate and they did not. I paid how much they asked. The earrings are unusable because they are lopsided and the pendant is roughly made that is it horrible looking. 3. The worst part is that they never tested the diamonds when I picked up the jewelry they made. I went back the next day, and oh boy! They took the pendant they made and it did not test as diamonds. They were so rude all of a sudden, they claimed their gun was not working, they claimed the battery is dead and the diamonds never tested as real. I ended up selling the whole thing so cheap. I believe they look me for at least 5,000. 4. Based on my experience, I believe they switched the diamonds and did not do what the agreement was and I would not say this just lightly. It would help me to know that my experience helps someone at least! read more
