I have no idea why I haven't come across infused olive oil before but this place has it all. Pretty much anything you can think of that should be infused into EVOO. I eat EVOO at least once a day. Although I am not picky about the taste, I care a lot about the quality. How it was described to me by the staff here was thar their products start with an EVOO and then they infuse various spices, herbs, etc into them. After the infusion, they no longer meet the technical definition of EVOO so they cannot advertise as such. I got to try about 10 different infusions and my absolute favorite was the wild mushroom and sage. I liked it so much that I ended up buying a big bottle of it to go. It was 30 dollars and I believe it is 25 oz. I didn't think It was too expensive compared to single origin EVOO bottles I typically buy at Costco and Trader Joe's. The service was excellent. There is absolutely no pressure to purchase anything and I was encouraged to try as many different varieties as possible. Ambiance really fits what this store is about. They call it a tasting room and I had no idea when I woke up i would be spending time at an olive oil tasting room! And it was super fun and eye-opening. Highly recommended! Their balsamic vinegar was good too but I am not huge on sweet vinegars myself. But if that is your thing, they have those here. read more

If I could give this place a million stars, I would. I've been to Bainbridge Island twice now, and both times I spent nearly an hour in this store. Lovely Olive has a bunch of different varieties of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. When I first visited, it was like I was a kid in the candy store. Seeing so many varieties of olive oil really excited me, and the possibilities of using each flavor is endless. The people working here are so kind and are willing to educate you on every product they carry. The person helping me told me what each olive oil would be good for and she gave me a lot of bread so I could sample any products I wanted. The store is really neat and well maintained, so going around and seeing all the different options isn't overwhelming. I bought mini bottles of the harissa, Tuscan herbs, garlic, and red chili olive oils. I also bought the lychee balsamic vinegar because the taste was so unique and I could definitely see myself using it for salads. Be prepared to walk out with something from this store, it's hard to resist! I would definitely recommend visiting if you're at Bainbridge. read more

This review is for their Bainbridge tasting room! Oh my gosh, this was an unexpected yet pleasant surprise to stumble upon. As someone who essentially lives in the kitchen, my favorite places to window shop at/purchase things from are at food/beverage + kitchen supply places. So ofc, when my bff and I were strolling around downtown Bainbridge, I HAD to set foot in here. The bar has an endless selection of balsamic vinegar and olive oil to try out. They all pair well with different things, which is so cool! With the help of a friendly staff member, I ended up with the smoked olive wood olive oil and the maple balsamic vinegar. Lively Olive Tasting Bar Bainbridge Island (4) My only reason for walking into this store was seeing the many jars of olive oil and balsamic vinegar ready to be dispensed into sample cups. I didn't even know so many flavors of oil and vinegar existed! The first sample I tried was the dark chocolate dark balsamic vinegar. Shockingly, the flavors mesh well together. The vinegar had a syrupy feel to it, with its own tanginess and the bitterness of chocolate. I can see why people drizzle this on ice cream, as recommended by the store. My final purchase ended up being a pairing of lemon olive oil and Kaimana lychee white balsamic vinegar. This was one heck of a match. I loved the citrus notes from the olive oil, and if that taste ever got too overwhelming, it was mellowed out by the sweetness of the lychee. The items are a bit pricey at Lively Olive Tasting Bar, but they're absolutely worth a purchase if you are cooking for a special occasion and want to liven up your meal. read more

My friend and I were in town (Port Townsend) for another occasion, and because she received an oil from this company as a gift and loved it- she told me ahead that we had to stop and try! The small sizes make an awesome gift- walked in at 5:06, there were few pieces of bread samples left (maybe 5). I purchased the only two oils I was able to taste for my personal self- but the young gal had lots of excuses (one of the reasons was that she would have to put gloves on) as to why she would not provide any more bread to continue tasting so we did not get to load up on oils for gifts like we had planned. We stopped shopping the second she refused to provide us with the ability to taste. Sucked, we were in town from 2.5 hours away. Nearly an hour left to be open on a Saturday. No more tasting? It was a bummer! Didn't get the experience we were hoping for but the bar was really cute. read more

The product is amazing, but the customer service is not. I visited the island for the first time with my family, and learned about LivelyOlive from travel guides online, we love olive oil and Balsamic on bread so decided to stop by. the store is quaint and very organized, they had samples of their products, and the worker greeted us and explained to us how the tasting works, we bought 5 bottles of assorted olive oils and balsamic vinegars we tasted and really liked; the worker told us that with the points we earned that day, it was enough to get free shipping should we need to place another order; well, 4 days later, these bottles are now almost gone, and I decided to place an order, there was a little bit of a hiccup with their system as one of the Balsamics was not showing up on their website, i called the store, and the lady also could not find it, she said she would call the manager to see if they could fix it as they do have the Denissimo on stock, and they are the shipping hub, so it should be available; after a few hours she called me back and said it should be available now, i verified and it was. When i was ready to place my order, which was over $150.00 i needed assistance yet again because i was not sure how to apply the free shipping i was led to believe i was entitled to based on my original purchase; the worker explained to me i was short a few points, and that the only way to get free shipping was to purchase something small first to get the last point (+shipping), or to buy a sample kit that comes with free shipping, after some back and forward, i asked to speak with the manager who was in the store, I was told they were sorry i was led to believe that but i was not entitled to free shipping; i told her i was unsatisfied and felt lied to and i was going to write a review about this, she said she was sorry for the miscommunication and i should not hold it against the company. Do not come to this place and expect not to buy anything! This was way more than I was expecting and the amount of flavors is overwhelming in the best way! The worker was super informational and even made some of her favorite concoctions for us to try. She gave recommendations for what would pair well with what food- ie espresso is a great steak marinade. Then you're free to roam around and try whatever you want! They had pieces of paper you could look at that showed flavor combos that pair together to try them for yourself. They also had pastas, pasta sauces, and truffle salts! This store has so many different things to try that I didn't even know existed. And the best part is you get to try before you buy! There are so many different unique things you can get for yourself or would make great gifts! They also have a rewards program and can ship anywhere in the US. We ended up with four bottles of different olive oil and I cannot wait to cook some stuff up with it! read more

Such a great experience coming in last week. I've become a little bit of an olive oil snob after living in CT and having a great shop a town over. When we moved to WA, I was on the hunt for a new one(that wasn't in Seattle, and a little bit easier to get to). I was so excited when we came up for a sailing regatta in Port Townsend and found Lively! Now, I make the trip up every 6 months to buy more(even though they do ship, I love coming in). The service is always fantastic, the prices super reasonable and the oils are great! The spicy ones give your food that great extra kick, and the lemon is perfect for baking and pancakes/waffles! I admit, I was skeptical about an olive oil "tasting bar" when I walked in here. But I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection and the friendly staff who really seemed interested and enthused about their products. It's a bit overwhelming when you first walk in: a brightly lit space packed with lots of fragile-looking ceramic and glass jars everywhere. Against one wall you'll see large jars of flavored oils and vinegars that can be decanted into different sizes of bottles. There are stacks of plastic sample cups everywhere and you're encourage to give the flavors a try! They also provide little bread cubes for those who don't just want to glug oil. I couldn't resist trying the out-there flavors like blood orange and vanilla vinegar, lemon vinegar, fig vinegar, and chocolate vinegar. My palate isn't sensitive enough to appreciate the nuances of olive oils, so I only tried one or two of those, but there was a large variety of flavors and truffle-infused oils. At $11 for the smallest olive oil and $10 for the smallest vinegar, the prices are somewhat higher than my usual grocery-store stuff, but the infused flavors do make them special. The $10 mini sets are a great value if you just want to try a few things (though you're limited to the pre-boxed selection). That a lovely little store. The only problem is narrowing your selection. I wanted to buy everything. I have never been a fan of mass produced, supermarket balsamic, especially the salad dressing, and I have been afraid of committing a large sum to purchase the real stuff, in case I chose badly. This store solved that problem. You can taste everything before hand. The vinegars are so good that you don't need the little bread squares. Just fill the little cup and drink it. Seriously. They are that good. I ended up purchasing lavender infused dark balsamic and lemon infused white balsamic plus herbs de provence infused olive oil (and dark sesame oil because I was out of sesame oil). I have been making salad dressing ever since. Olive oil, balsamic, and a squirt of two of dijon to hold it all together. So much better than supermarket salad dressing!!! read more

Nice concept, but I went in with my cleaned bottle (they sell the brushes to clean them with so you can refill and don't have to buy a new bottle every time) I had cleaned it thoroughly and after I thought it was dry I put the cork in. When I went in they refused to fill it because there was a tiny bit of condensation in the top of the bottle. Must follow the rules! I won't be back and I will not recommend this place. They least they can do if they are having rules like this is provide forced air to dry the bottle with so you don't have to pay for another bottle if you want olive oil. read more
