If you are a meat eater, I would recommend you try this place, just to know how good vegan ribs can be. They are made out of jackfruit and seitan. AMAZING vegan comfort food that's out if this world! The mac and cheese were perfect - not too gooey and not too oily, seasoned just perfectly and went so well with the jackfruit and steamed greens. The BBQ plate was fantastic. The ribs were crazy good - the BBQ sauce, chart, and the texture were all spot on! My hubby and I absolutely enjoyed the meal. We took the takeout by the lake and sat in the warm sun with our pup to have a nice pandemic picnic lunch. Okay, this place is amazing. I am not going to lie, we almost did not stop. The location and maybe the idea of food trucks altogether made us question it, but we are very happy we did! The food is unreal! The jackfruit BBQ ribs honestly tasted like meat, I can't even describe them enough. Quezo and chips were great and they add onion and chili's to it which is brilliant, and the Mac n cheese was good (awesome when we added quest to it). Maybe I hit them on a bad day, based on the other reviews. I tried the ribz. I've had really good vegan ribs at other places, like the much-missed Homegrown Smoker in Portland. This place is a bit hidden but don't be disheartened, just follow the signs and it's easy to locate. I got the BBQ plate with a mint chocolate chip milkshake and my boyfriend (he's not vegan) got the buffalo ranch burrito. We were both really impressed with the ribs. The texture and taste was so good. I also enjoyed the Mac and cheese and wish I got an order to go! We were visiting from the bay area which is full of vegan restaurants and it's safe to say the mac and cheese here is in my top 3. If I'm ever in the area, I will be sure to eat here again. Excellent vegan food truck. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the BBQ seitan ribs, mac & cheese and cornbread. I loved how she prepared the collard greens with using only water and apple cider vinegar and No oil. Just how I cook at home. The food and presentation was very clean. I got an extra order of barbecued ribs to go since it was so delicious. Also had an oat milk latte with organic cardamom syrup that was super unique and delicious. The food here is excellent. I am stuck in a very tasty rut with the BLT. The bacon is perfect and the combination of flavors is so very good. Don't miss real bacon one bit. The chips are also top notch and there are a LOT of them. I've always liked BLTs, but this vegan one is at the top of the list. The team at Lively is very nice and thoughtful. It's a pleasure to support them. And the mac and cheese is excellent. And the BBQ mac & cheese is great. Just all around very good stuff. My mom and I have been vegan for 3+ years and we both love to cook our own food, but when we do eat out for the rare occasion Lively is always one of my top picks! They do it all right! I don't know how they get their mac like that-it's so cheesy and creamy! Total flavor bomb! My mom ordered the ribs with some chips and she loved them! Holy cow, one of the most unique food trucks I have ever been to. A must visit, even if you are not vegan! The truck is all vegan, but the options are so good, that even meat lovers can be satisfied. I got a tofu scramble (get the vegan cheese sauce on top) and the jackfruit seitan ribs. Both were phenomenal and had flavors unlike many other vegan restaurants that can be bland. Hot diggity damn, that's some fine BBQ! I ordered the bbq plate and everything was fantastic. The seitan/jackfruit ribs were unreal, the mac and cheese prompted my (non-vegan) friend to say, "this isn't cheese?!" and the grilled cornbread was excellent too. Even better, there's none of the heavy, OMG-going-to-die feeling that usually follows eating meat BBQ. The eating zone is a cool spot behind Bunk and Brew and will only continue to improve as other food trucks move to the pod.
