I'm going five stars here to support the chef and staff because I love the place and the vibe. But I had a few issues with the food. First everything seems to be one thing too complicated -- eg, I had the Cacio e Pepe and it had breadcrumbs on it. I don't need crunch on my pasta. The burrata was awesome and didn't have too many ingredients but that harissa orange jam was superb. But back to my "too much" theme, while I have never complained about "too much truffle" in my life, they managed to go there. I got truffle on my pasta and was expecting a few thin slices or fresh truffle, but got what appeared to be a ton of minced truffles -- almost resembling tapenade -- which just overpowered me an the dish. The staff were amazing, the meatballs were superb, the raging pasta very good, and the chocolate mousse outstanding so I will be back. String suggestion: your pasta is SO good you should offer up a simple version (olive oil, garlic, parsley) that will blow people's minds. read more

Upscale but cozy Italian spot, one of my top locations in Bend. The focaccia is a must have. It is tough to get a reservation, but they also have first come bar seating. The HOUSEMADE FOCACCIA with whipped butter was delicious. We also ordered the snails, crab, and meatballs for apps and all were quite good. For main I ordered GNOCCHETTI ALLA NORCINA which was 7.5/10. Enjoyed but thought the cream sauce could have been a little thicker/creamier. The side of broccolini 10/10, so good! Date cake 10/10. Where do you go when you have 4 people from LA with different dietary restrictions and a thirteen year old all needing a delicious meal? BOSA is the answer. We loved the wine, dirty martinis, gluten free options, meatballs, salad, and a bottle of red. The wine menu provided tons of options and the waitress / som was able to help guide us from start to finish in less than 10 minutes ordering time... that's a huge win for this group. We decided to go here for a late dinner while on the way home from Crater Lake. We made the perfect choice! The food was really good, and our server was very friendly. We ordered the cheese fondue, grilled calamari, tagliatelle, ravioli, and the panna cotta. The cheese fondue was on their specials menu, but it wasn't a real fondue as it wasn't served in a communal pot. It was good though, and the bread that came with was also very good. The grilled calamari was served in skewers, which was unexpected. It was a bit on the salty side, but it was better with the creme and vinaigrette. Both pasta dishes were excellent! Outstanding!! We went to dinner at BOSA for the very first time after many visits to Bend and now we will always for sure return to this beautiful restaurant. We truly had an extraordinary dinner, where every taste of the dishes we ordered was delicious. We first chose the focaccia and meatball as appetizers. Yelp reviews recommended both and they were perfect starters. The focaccia and whipped butter was amazing as were the meaty, hearty-flavored meatballs. The sauce, incredibly fresh and perfect marinara. Then we had the tagliatelle bolognese which rivaled any bolognese in Italy that we've had. The housemade pasta noodles were also incredible. Wow. Our last course was the whole-fried branzino with an olive-type tapenade to top it off. It was served with the best whipped/mashed potatoes that were also incredible! This was an exquisite dish, it's very special! For dessert my hubby had his favorite dessert---affogato with vanilla ice cream. He noticed right away that the coffee used was delicious. And the Bonta vanilla ice cream was a perfect accompaniment to this iconic dessert. We also had the chocolate mousse and that was a divine dessert. The dessert chef has mastered the consistency and flavors of this simple but complex delicacy! Chocolate lovers will agree! The service from Drew was an element that made the whole dining experience memorable and fantastic. He was genuinely caring, respectful, friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Cardaperol. We ate somewhat light- hot, tasty, generous French Fries, sans truffle oil; a bolognese style pasta; a mixed greens salad w candied pistachios, apple, cheese. We had their NYE dinner tasting menu, so it's a little different from their day to day menu, but nonetheless an amazing experience. Before coming, I recommend making a reservations days if not weeks in advance, as I've been told they can get booked quite fast and full. For the NYE tasting menu, I had a trifle (caviar, lobster, potato), agnolotti (raviolos with beef), steak, and a lemon cake with persimmons. Ambiance was amazing and the decor with black and gold really made you welcome the new year. They also had a few disco balls hang from the ceiling. Service is amazing as expected, with our server being more than happy to clarify menu questions and being very knowledgeable in wine recommendations. The restaurant was not big, but had an upscale, cozy intimate feeling to it, making it perfect for date nights and small group dinners. The food was overall really unique and flavorful - the trifle paired with the potato chips and caviar ended up having a very unique taste and flavor. By far everyone's favorite dish. There were 5 pieces of agnolotti, which felt a little small given the large plate. The sauce wasn't that noticeable, and a few people in my party agreed it tasted like microwaved Costco ravioli. For not being a steakhouse, the ribeye was cooked to exactly how you would want it, with the sauce being unique and well pairing. Overall had a very good experience with the staff and environment, and the majority of the food is excellent. Although being a little pricey, I feel like the occasion and experience makes it well worth the trip, especially for date nights. We went with a large party of about 8. The waiter did a great job taking care of a large party. We went with an older crowd to catch up with former coworkers. The bill as you can imagine was astronomical. But even for folks that go out a lot to expensive places, it was way too high for them. Which tells me the price to value is not up to par with similar establishments. Much room for improvement. Wouldn't return unless they took a hard look at what they actually have to offer. We ordered the focaccia, 2 salads, 3 pastas, and 2 desserts + fries. Everything was so good. Definitely get the focaccia which was light and airy paired with a yummy whipped butter. The Caesar was good but the tricolor salad was phenomenal. It had a yummy honey balsamic dressing with candied bacon. The rigatoni was my favorite w/ pesto and meat sauce. However, the other 2 were very good as well. The truffle fries were thin and crispy with a buttery truffle flavor. Our party of 10 had a great experience Saturday night at Bosa. We arrived a few minutes ahead of our reservation, but the staff was very friendly and welcomed us into the waiting area, anyway. They even took drink orders for us to enjoy while we waited. The vibe of Bosa was lively and welcoming, with just enough ambient noise that we felt comfortable enjoying ourselves while we dined; but not so noisy that we couldn't hear each other at the table. Upon recommendation from our server, we decided to order multiple courses and share amongst smaller groups, so that everyone got to try different dishes. My wife and I shared our courses, while the others split into "family style" groups of four. Our server was very helpful with any questions we had about the dinner menu or wine selection. I wasn't initially going to order the Focaccia, but after seeing several delivered to other tables, we had to give it a try. The bread was so soft and delicious, and the whipped butter and herbs were a nice accompaniment. For an appetizer, we went with the Bosa Meatballs, which were served in tomato "gravy". The meatballs were good, but the tomato sauce was the real star of the show. Be sure to save some Focaccia to mop up the extra gravy. We ordered the Romaine for a salad course; which as you might expect, was served with a Caesar dressing. The greens were crisp and fresh, and the dressing was perfectly tangy; exactly how I like it. For a pasta course, we chose Cacio E Pepe; which came out at the same time as our main course -- the Scallops seafood special. We didn't know they would be brought out together, but these two dishes were a perfect pairing with each other. The Cacio E Pepe consisted of perfectly al dente Bigoli pasta, coated with a smooth and buttery sauce. And of course, cracked black pepper was the real star, shining through and adding a refreshing bite to the dish -- so good! Our main course was one of the most memorable seafood dishes I've ever had. The scallops were perfectly seared, and oh so tender. They were served with cubed butternut squash, baby mustard greens, and a creamy soubise sauce that was absolutely amazing. A soubise is a French sauce consisting of onions, butter, and cream; but the Bosa version also adds leek & fennel to the mix. Simply outstanding. For dessert, we ordered Tiramisu, which is served inside of a clear cup. The layers of mascarpone and lady fingers were quite tasty, but maybe not as memorable for me as the rest of the dishes we had. I did get a sampling of the Chocolate Mousse, and that was pretty amazing - I would probably order that for dessert next time. But then, I am a bit of a chocoholic, so my wife may disagree with that. Overall, I was very impressed with Bosa. The recommendation of sharing multiple courses with my wife made for a fun dining experience, and it allowed us to try a greater variety of dishes than we normally might. Bosa is my favorite restaurant in Bend! It's hard to choose between the dishes for the recommended three course dining experience.. so we always opt for five courses! I love sitting at the bar and chatting with my favorite bartender Marina, she makes us feel like family. I highly recommend her wine pairings with each course. Grilled calamari is a must as are the snails. Most of the pastas can be modified GF, but I usually get the chef's special. Chef Nate & Bill always come up with the most flavorful pastas. Exceptional experience. I enjoyed a wine tasting right there near the front door while waiting for our seats. We ordered the meatballs, foccassia, scallops and the Tagliatelle...Ah-Mazing. The scallops were served in a soup base with seasonal veggies with the perfect texture, savory flavor, and the aroma was just on the nose for a September dish. We later learned that the hostess who curated my wine tasting was the owner. I told her I didn't like Cabernets and she found one that I loved and ended up having for dinner. We saw her filling water glasses, drying glasses with her staff, engaging with customers, sharing a smile, clearing dishes away. You guys! This little gem in Bend is just so so amazing. My husband and I were floored with their flavorful, beautifully plated Italian creations. We started with the focaccia bread - this simple starter is anything but - the whipped butter, herbs and perfect housemade bread was gorgeous and tasty. The burrata primavera, consisted of an unusual pairing of strawberries, asparagus, greens, olive oil and saba but it just worked with every bit of crusty bread. The Insalata was crisp, fresh and lightly dressed - the Gorgonzola apple and honey roasted pistachio was a perfect combination. The star of the show the Tagliatelle - the beef and pork ragu, a 10 out of 10 and the house made pasta, cooked al dente - chefs kiss! We ended the night with the warm date cake with gelato. I make a version of my own sticky toffee pudding and was expecting something similar but this was more like a spice chai cake and I am here for it. The portion was enough to feed 2-3 people and each bite was better the the first. I am overjoyed that I discovered Bosa. The service was impeccable, so knowledgeable and thoughtful. We didn't have a reservation on Memorial Day (dinner) but were seated right away. The aesthetic is also so simple, elegant and beautiful. read more

The perfect start to our carb overload; the housemade focaccia bread with fresh tomato coulis and tapenade. In addition, we snacked on their pommes frites with herb aoli dipping sauce. The bread was flakey on the outside and fluffy within - truly delicious. With still some room to spare in our stomachs, we decided to split two pasta dishes, their Bigoli "Cacio e Pepe" and their Tagliatelle. Bosa's menu is designed to be shareable and we did just that.
