If you are a home owner in the Bay Area, you probably have a fruit tree, or two, on your property…read more And if you take care of these trees, they bestow you with an abundance of fruit - lemons, oranges, tangerines, mandarins, grapefruit, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines, persimmons, figs, pomegranates - more than you can possible eat, make into pies, jams, or pickles, or give away to neighbors, family or friends. Often, no one wants your excess fruit, because they have plenty of their own, thank you! And then you're in a jam, or pickle (both puns intended) because the tree rats (aka squirrels) start attacking your fruit, or it rots on your tree or in your yard. But not in our home! Because we pick ALL our fruit, and donate the excess to TriValley Haven Food Pantry in Livermore! We walk in (they are currently at 150 North L Street), no appointment needed, and drop off the fruit, which gets donated to families in need. They'll even give you a donation receipt, handy for your tax return. You're welcome!

Note the average age range for people attending these events is 40 and above…read more... My OOT friend and I happened to be in one of the hotels where they where hosting an event. We walked passed and heard DJ music and decided to check it out. I inquired with the folks monitoring the check-in desk and asked if we could peek in the door for 5 seconds to check out the crowd. It was around 11:30pm and the music was retro (80's style). The woman "screamed" NO! I thought "geez lady" relax.... Entry fee was $20. So we paid and checked it out. It was very clear why now she did not want us to preview the event---as there were only 2 dozen folks (including the DJ and bartender). The majority of the crowd was female. We stayed for 1 drink and no more people showed or left. We deserted the event about midnight. Overall, RUDE staff, not well attended and a waste of time and money. Definitely PASS on these events by this promoter. YELP the fact that you allow this review to be filtered shows that you are no more than a paid site!

We had never been to a singles party, so we thought it would be cool to check it out. The party was going to take place at the Golden Gate Yacht Club in the Marina. So far, so good, right? Um, yeah... So, it's the day of the event, and we finally make it to the parking lot. FIRST THOUGHT - OH.MY.GAWWWD. ARE.YOU.FKNG.KIDDING.ME? NO, FER REEEEEALZ? FER REEEEEALS? ARE WE ON CANDID CAMERA??? THIS IS A JOKE, RIGHT? IT'S NOT?!!!! We're sitting in the car in the parking lot, and I swear to you, everyone walking around, parking, leaving...had to have gone to high school with our grandparents!!! I believe the flyer we saw had read 30's and up crowd. WOW, THIS CROWD WAS DEFINITELY MATURE. Worse yet, these old guys were in button downed polyester shirts with chest hair flowing out!!! Yes, these guys just time-warped back into the 70's!!! *THE.FKNG.HORROR.OF.IT!* *MY.EYES.MY.EYES.ARE.FKNG.BURNING!* Needless to say, we sat in the parking lot for no more than two minutes and high-tailed it outta there!!!! We have since never attempted attendance to any singles party. ONE STAR = SUPER FAIL!!! THE NIGHT'S LESSON - I best stay a cradle robber, than a grave digger! MEEP-MEEEEEP! ========================= UPDATE: Aww, it looks like some of you are offended. When I say old, I definitely don't mean you folks in your 30's and 40's!!! I'm generation X, too! Duh!!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. Emily and Shelby were especially amazing. They were both so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process. They took the time to answer all of my questions, made sure I felt confident, and really showed how much they care about the animals and the adopters. You can tell the staff truly prioritize the well being of the pets and want to match them with the right homes. Everything was organized, transparent, and efficient. I am so in love with my puppy and SO GREATFUL that I chose to adopt from here!! I highly recommend Valley Humane Society to anyone looking to add a furry family member. Such a positive and heartwarming experience!

VHS goes to local county shelters and saves well-behaved cats and dogs that are about to be euthanized because of overcrowding. They have a medical clinic onsite that does a wellness check, and then their 200+ volunteer army steps in to foster and care for these cats and dogs, while permanent homes can be found. Our tour focused on the cat side of VHS. First we checked out the youngest kittens, which are kept in separate rooms, followed by Kitty City, which houses the remaining cats onsite (the rest are in foster homes). We met all the Catizens of Kitty City, including Mayor Big Bird, who has since been adopted, and several others with interesting personalities and histories, like Donna, Dealership, and Zombie (my favorite!). The animals are lovingly cared for, and the operations at VHS are well-organized (e.g. laundry area, kitchen and break rooms, etc.). Kitty City also includes an outdoor play area for cats, affectionately called "The Catio" !! Thank you, Valley Humane Society, for all that you do for our community.
