Best glass studio around! I read several mixed reviews and was hesitant to spend the money to take a class, but I am so glad I did. Roberta is incredibly knowledgeable. Her glass selection is excellent and her instruction is incredibly helpful. I am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews of this studio. My 12 year old daughter and I signed up for the beginner stained glass course. It did take us longer than the 6 weeks to finish our pieces but I wasn't mad because the website warned me it might take longer and the owner also warned me when we picked the pieces we did. The finished products were well worth the time. My daughter and I had so much fun and learned a lot. My daughter has now finished two pieces. I finished a window panel and am now starting my second piece. I will definitely continue coming back here to learn this beautiful craft. My wife and I purchased a sun catcher making class. We had issues with their calendar and texted for assistance. The texts couldn't clarify the situation so we called the number. The lady who answered didn't say hello but immediately said "what do you want!?" (Extremely rude). After explaining our issue she put down the phone and we heard a ton of cursing about our issue and yelling. I have never seen a more unprofessional business in any capacity. This was a great way for us to try something new. Creating a mosaic was very unique and fun for a relaxing Saturday. Roberta (very friendly!) got us a spot via email. We arrived a little before 10:30am on Saturday. There were four other groups but we didn't have to share a table with anyone. There were adults, kids, and families. After five minutes of instructions, we got started. Making a mosaic entails gluing pieces of glass (it's safe) onto a canvas utilizing different pieces and colors. You can be as creative as you want. We got the 7x7" board which is fine for a beginner. We spent over three hours here! Time flew by so quickly. At the end, I was pretty exhausted and hurried even though there was no time limit. Three hours for the price was well worth it just for the experience of doing something cool with my partner and making something we could keep. The drive was the only thing that we could say was not great, but everything else was satisfactory. Thanks to Roberta for making this such a fun experience for us. read more

I had zero idea what I was going to make and playing around with the pieces of glass I was able to make an awesome mosaic. If I could give this shop owner zero stars, I would. And judging from the other reviews, I am not alone. I booked a Groupon for a glass class at this location for my sister's birthday. We were really looking forward to it. I tried to book the class online but was having some difficulties so I sent an email to the owner. I heard nothing for 3 weeks and followed up. I received a text telling me to book online through the Groupon option. When i tried to do this, the next available class wasn't until mid Feb so I asked the owner if there was a sooner option. She told me to book through the calendar in which i told her i could not do that without having to pay. After some back and forth I asked her if we could get on a call as I wasn't sure she was understanding the problem I was having. She proceeded to tell me she understood everything just fine. After more back and forth and more confusion, i called her. I have never in my life been treated the way this woman treated me. A complete stranger. She answered with "WHAT".. not even a hello. I then reiterated the issue i was having, and she starts yelling curse words and walks away from the phone. I hear her screaming in the distance. 5 mins later she comes back and tells me that I was correct in having to book through the Groupon tab and no classes would be available until mid Feb. No apology, nothing. Same unbelievable rudeness like I have never experienced in my life. I told her this was a very uncomfortable experience for me and we would no longer be booking this class. She then harassed me with more text messages about how it was a bad experience for her as well. Which is crazy because I was extremely nice to this woman throughout the entire exchange. I have never experienced such a rude and toxic business owner in my life. I hope no one has to experience what I went through. Hopefully Groupon gives me my money back but honestly I don't even care at this point. I would literally pay to never go here. I hope this woman, named Roberta, thinks really hard about what she did today. And I hope everyone thinks twice before booking a class here. read more

I wish that I could say I am happy. The owner, Roberta is not pleasant to work with and is threating me with a law suit because my voice carried in her studio. I know that my voice carries. It is her unpleasant responses that frustrated me. I think that this is probably more personal on her side than legit. She had no examples of her students being frustrated with me and yet says I am lucky to not get sued by her due to me being disruptive. The plus side is that she does know her craft and she is the only art glass studio close by. She has a great selection of glass, tools and classes. Again, I can only go by my experience. She owes me for 5 class sessions which she has no intention of refunding me and to add insult to injury, threated to sue me! I found the Glass Studio on Groupon & planned a class for six friends. The owner was very helpful in the planning and getting back to me via email. We were able to bring in food & drink which was a nice perk. Each person in our group made night lights. We arrived and there was lots of little cups set up with different types of glass: fine, chunky, strips, slivers. Needle nose tongs were available to use for the tiny pieces or thin slivers. The instructor was very helpful with teaching & giving techniques on our project. We had a 2 hour time slot, that went over somewhat, but didn't feel pressured to leave. I did not enjoy my experience here. My mom purchased a deal on groupon (?) and was extremely excited to make a mosaic. As we started, we realized that the project we were doing was not what we paid for on the groupon. Instead of admitting her mistake and somehow compensating the difference when we pointed out that we paid too much, the owner meerly shrugged and said "oh, that's fine." No, when someone pays too much, it's not just "fine." We attempted to get to know the owner next, and all we got were rude responses. She did not want to discuss how she does her craft or how she started the studio whatsoever. It was very strange; what artist responds in an irritated manner to people wanting to learn about what they do? (For reference, we were asking about how other projects on the walls were accomplished out of curiosity.) The final straw was that she was unwilling in any way for us to see or learn about the grouting process - the one thing my mom was really excited about. I understand why she couldn't show us directly if it was really too messy, but it would have been very easy to point my mom to a specific book or website on how to learn. In the end the pieces turned out okay. She took many weeks longer than was stated to grout them, but they came out mostly as expected. I do know this is a harsh review and one may question if we may have provoked her negative responses in some way. My mom and I were pleasant throughout our entire stay in the studio, and both are really unsure what happened. (If you look at my other reviews, they are largely positive!) We both hope that if you decide to go that your experience will be better. Long story short; if you just want the art - the studio is good enough! However you will likely not receive good customer service. In my opinion, for a teacher of an art class, this is an important aspect that she missed. read more

I totally recommend this Studio, my daughter in law and I had the BEST therapeutic experience, we did the poppies mosaic on a rock and about 3 hrs later, and Roberta expertise and years of knowledge we are so proud of our masterpiece rocks. My daughter found the mosaic workshop on Groupon and surprised me with it for a fun afternoon together. We both made the 8x8 mosaics. After signing in and finding a seat, Roberta gave us clear instructions on how to make the mosaic. She also showed a bunch of examples, which was very helpful to get some ideas on what to make. There were 2 long tables with about 20 or 22 people total. The glass pieces were all sorted by color and on the tables in plastic bins. You all share the bins, you get up and walk around to get the colors you need or to switch bins with someone else. After you put all the pieces on the wooden square board that's the base for your mosaic, you glue each piece onto the wooden board. The more glass pieces you use, the less grout will be visible later. It was really relaxing. We took our time and I think the whole mosaic took us about 3 hours. Then you leave your mosaic and Roberta will grout them. We had a great time! It feels good to do something creative and to try something new. I picked up our mosaics today and we love them! Very happy how they turned out, grouted and finished. read more

My sister and I took the beginner 8x8 mosaic class together, and had a great time! You don't cut glass, but design your own piece of art using small pieces of pre-cut colored glass. So you come up with a design, decide on your colors, then figure out how to fit together the random glass shapes to make your design. It was really fun, using the left side of your brain for the artistic part, and the right side of your brain to determine how the pieces could fit together. I am not artistic, but my final tile is worthy of display. Quite happy with the experience, and now we are going back to try some fused glass classes. read more

I told her fused tulip class for 35.00 in my opinion it wasn't worth it she cut all the glass and each student spent about 10 minutes assembling on we wanted placed which to me was a complete rip off. I then decided to try her stain glass class which I have done in the past but just needed some help on finishing a piece. Roberta stated to me that she required every student has to take her beginning course which I didn't think I needed for a price of 170.00 because there are not that many places to learn stain glass I respected wishes and signed up. We agreed on a Saturday because I can't make it there during the week so I went there I was on time but she had nothing set up yet she had a class going in one room so she finally told me where I would work but in between people are walking in she setting up for different classes so get me cutting glass which mind you I already know how to do so for two hours that's all I did while she's running around helping about 4 other different types of classes. I decided that her style of teaching is too chaotic for me to learn so I text her my complaints and said I will lose the money but I can't learn in a place that run in a very chaotic so in turn I lost 150.00 and she didn't even have the decency to offer to refund at least half of what I paid so the moral of the story is if you really want to learn a craft like stain glass don't go to her studio. read more

In 6 weeks "class" you will not complete your project. You will be required to buy another 6 weeks course if you want to keep working on it. This may be fun for a date night but don't think that you are going to take a course and be done. In the 3 hour class you might get ten minutes of instruction. It is more a studio where you wait for your turn to speak to the instructor.
