BE CAREFUL. Livia will take your money with no services rendered. I hired Livia to do my hair + 6 bridesmaids hair for my March 2022 wedding. Due to the increased COVID restrictions in Chicago that went into effect in January, we had to move our date from March to August. When I asked Livia if she was available for the later date, she confirmed, and about a week later started demanding that we pay the balance due (after we already paid the 50% deposit, which was a steep $437.50). She said she wanted a new contract, another deposit, and full balance due for the new wedding date. I expressed my confusion to Livia, then discussed this matter with my wedding planner who assured me that most vendors are being reasonable during these crazy times (all of my other vendors were great and accommodating). Although I notified Livia of the change more than 90 days in advance of the original wedding date AND reminded her it was due to COVID, she doubled down in an email response with a factually incorrect statement about COVID being in the "endemic" stage (we're currently at record cases and restrictions), insisted that she would keep the deposit and said she was no longer available for the new date in August. Honestly, I'm relieved that she backed out of the new date. I would never be comfortable with her touching my hair - or anyone else's. read more
