We chose our recliner in a few minutes. Approached a salesperson and easy salesperson for them. All seemed good. But, very quickly, too quickly, he rattled off delivery as drop outside, drop inside and then the third was full delivery of some kind. We have a 900sqft condo, the chair was going within 12ft of front door, so inside only was fine. EXCEPT, the guy DID NOT EXPLAIN the recliner would be IN A BOX & that delivery required 36" opening. When we had our first recliner delivered by a different company, it was wrapped, not boxed, and could fit on it's side through the door. BUT NOT A BOX!!!! Disappoint #1 in your service, he should have said it would be a box and did we have the capacity. Disappointment #2 - he also didn't explain WE WOULD HAVE TO ASSEMBLE THE RECLINER!!!!! We've had 3 recliners in the past and they all came as one piece!!! We werd shocked when we opened the box and we had to read the two CONFLICTING instructions (one in booklet that came with recliner & the one emailed to me). We are SENIORS!! If we wanted to assemble furniture, we would have gone to IKEA!!! The salesperson should have FULLY explained that there would be assembly and that would be included in delivery cost number three - - which we would have gladly paid). BUT NO!!! He just was flipping through pages on his tablet for us to sign and get his sale and be done before they used at 9pm. We approached him at 8:30pm to buy the recliner, not as about it, we were already a firm sale. The lack of customer service for the other side of the sale (when we'd take possession) gives me pause to recommend you to others. If we did, we'd have to be sure it was with the caveat to ask if their furniture would come assembled or not, and if they have the capacity for the delivery. We paid for delivery option #2, to be placed INSIDE the condo. It wasn't until I got the delivery notice that it gave all the parameters (or in the fine print in the store that was NEVER EXPLAINED by our salesperson). That was too late. So we could have had drop at door for cheaper since that's all they did. But we would have paid for & ordered the full set up if someone could have taken 2min to explain this to us as we are paying for our item & delivery. You dropped the ball on this one!!!! The low rating on here is well deserved. Their delivery people seem to be the biggest hurdle to them getting repeat business. They show up whenever they wan and then leave within 10 minutes of their START delivery time. They didn't bother to deliver any part of our order and left while we were waiting for them to do their job. If you don't like delivering furniture, FIND ANOTHER JOB! Customer service was a joke dealing with this. We also believe that they are so crappy at this part so that they can add a delivery fee; it feels like a scam. We were given misinformation about the financing options and I am livid with the store. I was told on multiple occasions that I would not have to pay anything for a year. Just received notice from the Synchrony bank that I past due on payment and was charged a late fee. I recognize that there may have been fine print that said I needed to pay minimum payment monthly but I literally asked the sales folks multiple times to confirm I would not be charged anything unless I did not pay in full by end of term. We bought a mattress there for $800. The mattress delivered is not what was demonstrated in the store. When we tried to return it, we were told we could not return for buyer remorse! We asked to warranty it, nope buyers remorse...this is not buyers remorse, this was a bait and switch. Do not trust the product in store. UPDATE (Review based on delivery) Couple weeks ago I ordered a $250 living room rug and a $970 couch because I wanted to lively up my new home. While shopping, the staff definitely let me shop in peace, to the point I had to hunt someone down to help me. The person who helped me was great! I added to my bill, 1) full delivery service (setup and delivery) 2) the 5 year insurance. I was told, my rug will be delivered in within 2 weeks via UPS and the couch will be delivered in 4-6 weeks via the delivery company. Only within a week I get a text saying my couch is ready to be delivered and to select a window date within a 2 week window. This was unexpected - now I had to try and get rid of my current couch 3 weeks earlier which isn't an easy task. :: DELIVERY :: Here's the damn kicker... I select a Monday delivery which is an additional $20 (on top of the $99 I already paid for delivery). Then the day before I get a window of 12:30 - 3:30 and the showed up around 2. They "set-it-up" which it was already prebuilt in my livingroom and when I said "that's it" they told me yup some furniture is already prebuilt. AND while they were putting the cushion they walk up into my home with their dirty ass shoes (I am asian, we take shoes off in our house because we clean and don't like dirt tracking in our home) but I get it they are delivery people. One had the fkn audacity to step all over my NEW rug I just rolled out before they came and got dirt foot makings from his shoes on it. I flipped out and said to just give the cushion to me and I'll do it because he's leaving dirt marks on my new rug from living space. I mean so judgement but I think it's disgusting when people don't take of their shoes entering a home. The entire ordeal of delivery was literally 5-7 minutes. Quick and easy money for them. My first experience here was absolutely horrible! The carpet my Interior Designer purchased had a large black stain on it -- it looked like oil, probably from the rollers it was hanging on during inspection. We didn't unfold it until a few days later, and when I went back to return it, they told me it was an "as is" item and refused to help. Even after speaking with the manager, Carlos, he was stoic, cold, and showed no sympathy that I had just spent $700 on a rug I'll never be able to use & gave me one option that I could "give it away" as a sol. I completely understand policies, but any company that values customer service should know when to make exceptions -- especially when a product is delivered with a visible stain that wasn't disclosed at the time of purchase. After ordering 3 pieces of a couch I was disappointed with the cushions but figured that's just how they come. I added a middle unit and I found that the original cushions were manufactured HORRIBLY, bumpy and flat compared to the full new cushion I received. Inches of difference in 2 months. They claim wear and tear but I have pictures of the original delivery and it was the same. After multiple agents told me I have an easy claim it was denied twice and now they won't speak to me. After spending thousands on furniture they cannot even replace two cushions that are clearly manufactured poorly with more than 2 inches of difference between them. No replacement, no help. The furniture at living Spaces is overpriced for what it is, but I had a situation where I needed a piece of furniture fast. I found something that was discounted because it was a floor model and the sales people were very helpful. Upon checking out, however, I was told that my item was being delivered by a third-party company and that they worked 24/7. I reminded them that the delivery date they were giving me was on Easter, but they assured me that my item would be delivered between 1 PM and 2 PM. This morning, Saturday - the day before Easter, I got a call in the morning from living space is saying that they don't deliver on holidays, but they would get back to me for a delivery time on Monday. It's now 2 PM and since I didn't hear from anyone, I called the customer service number. I was told that there was no way to determine when my item would be delivered. I was told that they are unable to give me the phone number to the actual store so that I could speak with the people that initially told me about the delivery. Basically, I just needed to "wait and see." So, after arranging my day for the delivery on Sunday, I now need to clear my schedule on Monday and "wait and see..." I don't think I'm an unreasonable person. I would've been fine with the change if they would have called me back with more information like they said they were going to. This is a second review for this awful company with worse products. I didn't get any resolution to issue with the finish coming off my coffee table, was only told that I filed the claim a week late. Then I noticed tears in my one yr old recliner of which I purchased the 5 yr extended warranty. I filed a claim and was just notified that it was denied bc the issue is a scrape and not a scratch (picture below). When I asked to rep to define the difference between the two, I was read a google definition which made no sense in the context of a warranty. Really folks, stay away from this place. Before I signed the paperwork, the sales representative told me that there was a one-month window for returns and that only a 10% restocking fee would be deducted; I accepted these terms and proceeded with the purchase. However, just nine days later, my spouse began experiencing shoulder and neck pain due to the sofa. I contacted the store to report this issue and requested an exchange for a different product, but they informed me that the return period was actually only seven days and that they could not do anything to assist me. I bought a $1000 leather (so they said) recliner from them a few years ago and within FOUR MONTHS the leather was wearing off dramatically in various places on the recliner I called them and filled a claim. Living Spaces says they can't fix it, and they can't replace it, and so they are only offering store credit to purchase something else. We don't want store credit, we want a full refund so that we can purchase a quality chair from a different company. While the sales staff at both San Diego locations were initially helpful (even offering a $218 discount), everything fell apart at delivery. My "new" sofa arrived with: * Visible stains throughout * Fabric pulling away in multiple areas * A crooked headrest * Poorly fitted material with slack everywhere. * A few pics for reference are attached. The delivery manager, seeing my shock, promised either a replacement OR a $347 discount if I kept the damaged piece. When I called the later to request the replacement, I was told they had NO stock available AND they would only offer $158 instead of the promised $347 discount. I'm now stuck with a damaged sofa that doesn't match what I saw in the showroom, no timeline for a replacement, and a company that won't honor the compensation their own delivery manager promised. For a major furniture purchase that's meant to last years, this level of product quality and customer service is DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING. My rating is based solely on an online order I recently made that was delivered from this location. I have not visited this store in-person, and cannot speak on the associates at the store itself nor their customer service. I ordered the PIERCE ESPRESSO II DRAWER online on Halloween evening 2024 and am VERY pleased with my purchase and the entire delivery process. I was looking for a very large bedroom dresser of solid style and quality to be delivered quickly within 24-48 hours. To start, the dresser itself was rather reasonably priced IMO. Most dressers of such large dimensions are usually well over a $1000 and this was well under that and on clearance no less. I ordered it on a Thursday evening and it was delivered to me early Saturday afternoon without incident. I was UBER scared of all the 1-star reviews on here, but decided to take a chance anyway since I needed the dresser quick. I guess I'm just one of the rare and lucky folks that had zero issues. The delivery people texted me the day before and the day of delivery with a window of noon to 3pm, and were here no later than 1pm. They were a 3rd party delivery company, but they were quick and professional which is all I really needed. The dresser itself had a few dust marks here and there that I wiped off with a microfiber cloth, but there were ultimately zero scratches, scuffs, marks or any kind of damage or flaws. Gave the delivery people 5 stars and giving this place 5 stars as well. Again, I was simply highly impressed with how easy it was to order online, the solid quality & style, the reasonable price and most of all, that is was delivered in less than 36 hours. So sad to see all the reviews where folks were unhappy with their purchases, but I had the total opposite experience. My husband and I briefly lost sight of our two children and, in a panic, went to the front to ask if they could page them. Although they couldn't make a public announcement, the associate immediately initiated an internal safety protocol. I was looking for a new couch about a month ago. From my past experiences I did not think there was much of a selection of larger furniture stores in SD. There is IKEA and the bigger chain stores like Ashley's, Jerome's and MOR furniture. My friend suggested I hit up 'Living Spaces'. I did see many previous (not so great) reviews on Yelp so I was not expecting much at all.  To my surprise, the place was HUGE!  I thought the layout was pretty nice and I definitely think there was a quite a selection. ( budget to pretty pricey options) The two times I visited before finally picking my couch, the staff were friendly and helpful while I looked around at the options. I am pretty happy with the couch I ended up purchasing. When comparing to other furniture stores, the delivery options top the rest. (super affordable) Day of delivery, they came on time, moved my couch in carefully and quickly. My experience seems to be rare compared to the most recent reviews. My sis and I put the couch together, it didn't take much time at all. (I did have to drill a few holes myself, but not too bad) So far, I have had no issues with it and I'm satisfied with my purchase and experience. This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've had with any furniture company. I scheduled a delivery with Living Spaces for today between 12-3 PM. I was home, ready, and waiting. The driver called once from a number flagged as spam, didn't leave a voicemail, and didn't identify himself properly. I had no idea it was the delivery. Then he just left -- without ringing the doorbell, knocking, or even trying. To make it worse, the driver didn't speak English, so there was zero clear communication even when I tried to follow up. And yet Living Spaces still decided to take his word over mine and put the blame on me. Now I'm being told I have to wait another 48 hours to reschedule -- or cancel the order and pay a 15% penalty. All because of their delivery failure, not mine. I'm sitting in an empty place with no furniture, and their customer service has been cold, unhelpful, and completely inflexible. I've purchased furniture from the Mission Valley Living Spaces location before without issue, so I decided to furnish my new apartment with them again. The first red flag came when five of the items I selected (all displayed on the sales floor) were suddenly unavailable and had to be backordered. The salesman assured me it wouldn't be a problem, deliveries would only take a week or two. He also mentioned three items would be "drop-shipped," which was new to me since I assumed a large retailer like Living Spaces would handle all deliveries directly. He promised text notifications for tracking, so I reluctantly agreed. What followed was pure incompetence. My order was split into two deliveries. The first delivery included a bedroom set--but the lamps were missing. When I asked the driver, he casually said, "We don't deliver lamps," and claimed they'd be drop-shipped. No texts ever came. Two days later, I randomly found two boxes left at my door with no knock, call, or notification. A week passed with no sign of the remaining items. After following up, I discovered Living Spaces had used UPS for delivery, but failed to provide my apartment number. When I called UPS, they said they couldn't deliver without it. Meanwhile, it is Monday and I have returned and ordered myself a very nice comfortable lounge couch and a new rug. Maria was here and helped me. No pressure the staff here is very competent The only shipping fee was thirty $39.00 for a drop off. We purchased a 3 piece sectional in September of 2025. We agreed verbally with the sales representative who assisted us with the purchase, and confirmed before final purchase, that we would be making the purchase for 3 units, with all 3 units covered by their extended warranty, that it would be delivered to our home address that they had on file, and it would be assembled upon delivery. First, we were confirming our delivery date by inputting our delivery address and order number so we could arrange for someone to be home for delivery and assembly. We keyed our delivery address and order number, but our order could not be found. My wife looked up our previous address and then the order was located, and it would be delivered to a home we no longer resided at. Again, we confirmed the exact delivery address with the sales representative at the time of purchase, so we had to contact customer service to correct this error. Upon contacting customer service, they pushed back against our delivery, refusing to update the delivery address, and it required us pushing them for an escalation to a manager. The escalated manager took the call, stated they would correct our delivery address, and they would refund us the delivery fee for the inconvenience. Perfect, right? WRONG. We received a text notification that our delivery date was coming soon, and that installation was not included as part of the delivery service. We paid for full service, it was on our invoice, so what happened?? Turns out customer service, while refunding us the delivery fee out of the kindness of their heart, decided that they would remove the assembly fee in order to simply the refund process on their end. So we then had to contact customer service once more, escalate once more as the front line representative refused to assist or accommodate us by reapplying our purchased assembly, and we were then assured by the escalated manager that our order would be delivered, at the correct address, with assembly, but it would be pushed back 1 additional week to adjust for the "unexpected" assembly. Not great, whatever, one more week of sitting on folding chairs because they screwed up, again, but we were finally getting somewhere. Fast forward to this past weekend. Our pet has an accident on our sofa cushion. We file a warranty claim with the extended warranty, Care Free. When filing the claim, the armless chair sectional piece was not available, odd, whatever. When I attempted to contact the 3rd party servicer that the warranty servicer contracted out to for repair, they stated that they do not service San Diego county, only LA county. So I called customer service once more. Customer service then kindly points out that because it is the armless chair unit, and not the corner units, it would not be covered by our warranty. She then states that it was our fault that we did not identify on the invoice that the armless unit was NOT covered by Care Free, and only the corner pieces. In WHAT WORLD WOULD I BUY WARRANTY FOR TWO OF THREE SECTIONAL PIECES. I will once more reiterate, that the sales associate who sold us the couch, confirmed our CORRECT address, the CORRECT units purchased, the CORRECT Care Free coverage of ALL THREE UNITS. If our total couch was $1,110 pre tax, and the care free is $111, then that means its covered right? That's all three pieces? Well there is no official documentation as to what the "accurate" care free protection pricing is. Not to mention every other ounce of crud we've dealt with. We will no longer shop here. We will no longer advise our friends or family to shop here. This is zero star customer service, sales service, everything. read more

My only experience is buying a recliner from this store. My wife and I stopped in and were pleasantly surprised by the huge selection and reasonable prices, probably 20 models at prices from a few hundred to a thousand. We picked one that we liked. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to select our own fabric and base and get it in about 2-3 weeks - no extra charges. However, with any custom order you cannot cancel without paying a large restocking fee, even if you change your mind one hour later! The California laws for cancelling a contract in 3 days does not apply. We were contacted 3 weeks later telling us of our upcoming delivery. They did a great job communicating right up to 20 minutes before. The delivery company was excellent. Along the way they do try to get you to pay extras, such as a warranty, delivery to inside your home, setup, etc. We bought none of the extras. Overall a very good experience. read more

I wish to formally express my concerns regarding a failed delivery service I recently encountered. I had a scheduled delivery for today, January 29, 2025, between 12 PM and 4 PM. However, I received an email notification at 11 AM stating there was an "unforeseen delay." Upon inquiring about the delivery status, a representative informed me that they attempted to contact me and left a voicemail, which I did not receive, nor did I have a missed call in my phone history. As a result, my delivery could not be completed as scheduled. The representative indicated that both the warehouse and the delivery driver were unaware until the morning of the delivery that my items were classified as open box and could not be delivered to my home. I find it perplexing that this critical information was not available weeks in advance when the delivery was arranged with Living Spaces. Instead, I was notified just one hour (ONE FREAKING HOUR) before my scheduled delivery window. I question why it was not a priority to contact the customer directly rather than relying on an email and a voicemail message indicating that they attempted to reach me. Furthermore, since the furniture was already loaded onto the delivery truck, it would have made sense for the driver to make the trip to deliver the items as scheduled, simply knocking on my door to explain the situation, rather than claiming to have made a call and left a voicemail when, in fact, they did not. Can they provide proof of this call or show documentation of their phone history? No, they cannot; they can only say, "our notes indicate we tried calling, left a voicemail, and emailed you. Did you check your spam folder." I allocated time away from work to ensure my availability for this delivery, resulting in a loss of pay for the day, and now I am obligated to take an additional day off for the next delivery attempt to accommodate a business team that appears to struggle with logistical planning. Your organization needs to implement improvements in both logistics and communication processes to facilitate a more efficient delivery experience for customers. The warehouse supervisors, delivery drivers, and scheduling department require additional attention, training, and oversight to ensure they are performing their jobs adequately. Living Spaces should also review its policy regarding the scheduling and delivery of open box furniture, as the manager I spoke with today was unable to provide clarity on the current policy in place. read more

We have purchased furniture from Living Spaces in the past without issue. However, this last experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We purchased a couch to be delivered to the apartment. During delivery, they sent a team of one person to lift a large piece of furniture up the second story by himself. Both the accompanying sales associate and my elderly family members were unable to assist. It was a frustratingly ill-prepared situation. On top of the whole ordeal, the delivery guy claimed it would not be able to fit, and he would not be able to disassemble the couch as it wasn't technically his job to do that. Living Spaces offered to refund or exchange for something of equal or greater value, but with a 10% restocking fee. We were never mentioned to about this restocking fee prior to purchase. It is exorbitant, as the couch was never used and never entered the home. We can understand if we already sat on it, but we did not touch the couch at all. We spoke with multiple employees to dispute the fee, but none were willing to help and some were unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Remember, Living Spaces isn't a furniture company. It's a nickel-and-dime-you-with-every-predatory-fee imagineable sales company. We strongly advise not to do business with them and look elsewhere. You have been warned. read more
