    Herbs and spices are prepackaged
    Jerry S.

Used to be called Adventist Book and health foods, not surprising given their world hq is half a mile away and their new hospital right behind the shopping center. There's a religious sculpture in front of the door, and half the store is devoted to Christian goods. The rest contains a cornucopia of natural supplements, cosmetics, and food. The collection of bulk flours, grains, dried fruit, and nuts exceeds even MOM. Wide selection of spices as well, but I didn't like that they were prepackaged so you can't buy a specific amount or reuse a container. The biggest unique offering is a whole wall of mock meat. While Adventist practice doesn't require vegetarianism, many choose to follow Genesis 1.29 and they've been perfecting products much longer than Impossible or Beyond. So if you're looking for clean food at reasonable prices, pardon my conflating Christians but "This is the place!" Full COVID precautions in place including masks, sanitizer at the door, and contact less payment.

Kids corner of the store. Kids bibles, coloring books, puzzles.

This place is wonderful! From the outside, I thought it was just a bookstore, but it's so much more! They have a smoothie bar, they serve chilli or soup. There is a kids corner with movies playing and toys. Lots of great gifts for the whole family and friends. They even sell makeup and skin care products!! A positive place and overall good customer service.

I love this store but then again I love every bible book store I've ever encountered so I may be biased. First off when you walk in you will see healthy food and snacks which you can indulge in without feeling guilty. I'm always torn between spending time in the gift section (I love gifts and trinkets) or the healthy food section which has everything from canned goods to Ezekiel bread. They truly run the gamut. It's like a Whole Foods married a Barnes and nobles! They have a area where you can get anything made from smoothies to soups and sandwiches and I've never had one bad item from that section. You can also purchase music and bibles the list goes on and on!

The Livingwell store or ABC as old-timers will know it is the primary destination for everything for church supplies to healthy vegan foods. There's also an excellent selection of religious books and gifts. Try and time your visit for days that they are giving out free samples or ridiculously low priced vegetarian hotdogs. Don't hate the player but take the advice about the food.

Great food shopping for vegetarians and vegans. I walked past this storefront for years (while visiting Target and Kohl's) without ever venturing inside. To be honest I wasn't sure if it would be nice-Christian or creepy-Christian -- although even as a non-Christian I actually like the sculpture of Jesus out front, because it's humanistic and touching. Recently some people were telling me about the great food selection at this store, so I finally went in! It is very pleasant, not creepy. The store is bright and clean and the staff people are nice and very helpful. The other customers also seem happy and normal - nobody sulking or copping an attitude. I walked past the Christan gift items and made a beeline for the body care products and the food section, and was rather impressed! Much of what they carry are the familiar health-food-store brands, but there were also several items new to me. I don't know much about Seventh Day Adventists, but I DO know they are vegetarian and don't drink caffeine. (Thanks in large part to Adventists and Mormons, the old coffee substitute Postum was brought back.) So there is a very good selection of vegetarian and vegan food to be found here. They even had something I could not find at any other health food store (and I tried SIX of them)....vegetarian "oyster" sauce, made with oyster mushrooms...for my homemade lo mein. Very nice selection of bulk foods, including spices and soup mixes. When I visited they were giving out samples of a noodle dish. The store also has a classroom area in the back where they teach a six-week program on healthy eating and lifestyle. Anybody who is teaching vegetarianism and health is OK by me! I'll definitely be adding this place to my regular grocery-shopping rounds. ADDENDUM: There were no photos of the food sections of this store, so I've added some.

Name change. No longer Potomac Adventist Book & Health Food Store. It is now Living Well.

I have rarely gone to this location and been able to buy everything in one trip. Something is always out and I typically have to go again the next day, and even then, oftentimes they STILL don't have stock. They used to have self checkouts here, but because of theft, they removed them. So now the solution is to utilize 2 cashiers when they need to have, at minimum, 3. The checkout lines are always so long and I often spend more time in line at checkout than shopping. Make it make sense. 2 cashiers on busy days. Amazon and other bigger chains don't do this. Even the Beltsville location has their system in place and the lines are never like they are at this location. Why have 6 registers if you're only going to use 2 cashiers?! Aldi Calverton: you need to do better and snap out of it. I get you're a discount, budget grocery, but customer service and quality/frequency of items is just as important. Either the management at this location needs to change, or managers need to get more involved. I understand sometimes there won't be items available due to outside factors out of Aldi's control. But when there is consistently no stock on staples such as tomatoes and carrots, it's no wonder people shop elsewhere.

I've seen the name, but honestly I thought it was just a dispensary of sorts. Well I have been humbled. My sister is huge on crystals, essential oils, incense, and the like. When I went to NY most recently I was inspired and have started dabbling in certain crystals myself. When a ring broke from dancing too hard last week (literally) I looked up crystal shops and this place came up. And I was like... they have crystals?! So when I had free time, I made my way over there. A short 10 minutes from my house is this serene house with a waterwheel fountain and so many colorful plants. There's just a few parking spaces right outside, but there's more across the street. The porch itself is inviting too... and when you step inside, it smells like one of the shops my sister loves. I found myself just exploring through everything... crystals, body care, supplements, herbs, teas... even a library! And the prices... the prices are fantastic compared to what I've seen at other places! I found myself in awe at it all. They even have a rewards program! Safe to say, I got what I needed, and if you need any of the items I mentioned above, consider paying them a visit. You won't regret it.
