I DO NOT recommend this bridal boutique at all. Very disappointing and very unprofessional. I am a bridesmaid and along with 4 other bridesmaids, we purchased our dresses from this boutique. Impression #1: We arrived and no one greeted us nor decided to offer us any assitance. We had to ask for help repeatedly during our visit. During our sizing and ordering of our dresses, we decided to go for a smaller size, but the sales people were adament that we should not. Thinking that they would know what they're talking about, we listed to their advice and ordered the recommended size. Impression #2: They were supposed to call us in 2 weeks to let us know when the dresses should arrive. Four weeks later, I had to call them for a date. I even asked why we never received a call, they said they did not have our phone numbers. You didn't have any one of our 5 phone numbers?? doubtful. Impression #3: The date they provided for us comes and passes, still no phone call. The bride had to call and we get the "oh, they're here. come pick them up" How about a call?? you definitely had my number after I gave it to you after Impression #2. Last (hopefully) impression: Dresses arrive, the bride would like to see all her bridesmaids in their dresses at the boutique. We arrive. Repeat impression #1 - no help whatsoever. We get our dresses, and the maid of honor's dress was wrong! No apologies, just a ton of excuses. They gave us so much attitude when we told them we would like to try on the dresses. They offered us one stall to try on our dresses. To top it off, all the dresses were too big! Because we listened to their advice and bought the recommended sizes, we now have to pay for alterations! To wrap up my rant, they are very unprofessional and downright rude as soon as they get your money. There are plenty of other options out there who better deserve all the money you're about to spend. read more

Worst customer service ever. These people don't pick up their phone. My wife and I have called over 100 times in one day (we counted dials on the cell phone) and they never picked up the phone. Instructions on their machine told us to leave a message and receive a return phone call. None came. I wouldn't recommend buying a dress from them if you anticipate having questions and details that need to be addressed over the phone. You'll be shit out of luck. But then it's only your wedding. I wouldn't hire them to change my cat litter. read more

What a disappointment. I ordered a bride's maid dress from this store. I called with my measurements, and the lady gave me the suggested size based on my measurements. I was a bit un easy about it since the size recommended was 3 times larger than my normal size but she assured me that it was the appropriate size for the dress according to my measurements. Fast forward months later, I pick up the dress, bring it home, put it on and it literally did not stay on my body. Awesome. I'm now in the process of getting the dress altered and have had to go for multiple fittings because it was that big. $100 later, I can now fit into my dress that was originally $175. Shouldn't the sales people in the store know how to me advise me to buy an appropriate size? Isn't that part of their job? I guess not. The exact same thing happened to another one of my friends but her alterations are even more than $100. Thanks for nothing. read more

Got a bridesmaid dress here... Great selection of dresses, staff was helpful (more so than other wedding shops I have been to for other weddings.) Size issue: I am a seasoned bridesmaid and know the drill. Most dresses there come in even number sizes 0,2,4,6,8,10.... 20. Most women fall between 2 sizes. They even measure you and say "Ok in the bust you are a 6, but in the hips an 4." A bridal consultant meeting you one time can NOT tell you if you would look better in a tighter or looser version of the dress. They don't have sizes to try on so you have to go bigger and have it taken in where you need to.. of course this is a scam so they make more money, but they ALL do it. I also think the weight comments were taken the wrong way.. she told our group "You can make yourself smaller but you can't make the dress bigger. You can also make the dress smaller so size up if you need to." This is not off the rack shopping. Dresses have to be ordered (group discounts available) and altered to fit each person. The size is like a guideline and then they make it fit you. Similar to a wedding dress. I thought the prices were reasonable. read more

So far - this store has been an absolute DREAM to work with! For it being my first wedding dress appointment ever - Colleen made me feel so comfortable through the whole process. She listened to what I liked/ didn't like - and even let me try on a dress that was 10 sizes too small ;-) (she had to get creative for this one). She was super helpful and mindful of our budget the entire time. A few weeks ago, went in with the bridesmaids to try on dresses and had a FABULOUS time :) The salon even brought down my wedding gown for us to compare each bridesmaid dress too! No one was pushy and pretty much allowed us to peruse the dresses/swatches at our own pace. Every time I call this place they are kind and on top of their shiz. Lizelle's was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish in purchasing and altering my wedding dress. They have a pretty decent selection, but when I just couldn't find what I really wanted, their seamstress Lori looked at the dress I had on at the moment (that I adored except that I wanted to add straps) and she said "oh I can do whatever you want." I was hesitant, my mom was immediately sold. So we took a chance. And let me tell you, BEST. DECISION. EVER. Lori is a god with a needle and thread. I can't even come up with a better way to say it. She works miracles. The blood, sweat, and tears that she put into turning this gown into my dream dress was just so obvious. She's so talented and really takes the time to make sure you are leaving with perfection. Thank you for helping to make my day perfect! read more

We had a really unpleasant experience at this store just this week. I feel bad writing this because I am an almost-lifelong resident of Haverford Township, and I try very hard to support local businesses, but she earned this one. I called in the morning to make an appointment and left a message. No response, so I called again, left another message, and again, no response. We went ahead and arrived at the time I'd stated in my two messages. No greeting, no nothing. I asked the woman who identified herself as the owner if she had received my messages, and she looked at me like, yeah, so what? She told me they were busy all day and couldn't possibly answer the phone every time someone called. That should have been my first clue. She told us to go ahead and look through the racks, so we did. Maybe it's because we were there to buy just one dress and not for an entire wedding party, but the owner could not have been less interested in helping us. We had to go through uncomfortably jam-packed racks, with no idea if any particular dress would come in the fabric we wanted. We went to the back, where she was engaged in a conversation with someone who looked like she might have been a saleswoman, and asked if she could help us narrow it down so we'd know which dresses were available in the right color. She said she'd look into it. A good five or ten minutes later, I went back, and she was still chatting with the other person. I asked her directly, would you rather we went somewhere else? We seem to be disturbing your meeting. She said, archly, I want you to stay if you want to stay. I said, well, we've been waiting for you to tell us which dresses were in the right color. She pointed to a color chart on her desk and said, I have it right here. I said, how are we supposed to know that? She then started pulling out a few dresses, and this is where I got really annoyed. Like most bridal salons, they only carry one size per dress, and it's a smaller size. Fine, I get that. I know how these things work. But I don't appreciate being made to feel like a whale by a size 2 salon owner. In the end, she told us we should just look at her laptop and pick out a dress and she'd order it in the right size. If we're going to do that, why go to a salon at all? Why not just go on-line? We left, because even if we decided to order it from her, we'd have to go back for fittings, and that was a really unpleasant prospect. The owner never asked, but I was willing to spend any amount of money to get the right dress. I wasn't interested in a discount, or a discontinued item. I wouldn't have cared how much alterations cost. I just wanted the right dress with the right fit, and I was willing to pay for it. BTW, we had gone to a salon in Lancaster for the bride's gown, because they carried a designer she likes. It's called inWhite, and it was a wonderful experience, the polar opposite of Lizelle's. read more

Terrible customer service. I don't normally write yelp reviews, but this is unbelievable. I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding, and we "ordered" our dresses 4 months ago. I'm the only out of town bridesmaid, so I called, gave my credit card information for the deposit, and was told to call back with my measurements, which I did. About a week ago, the bride called to check on our order and it turns out the order was never placed. Thankfully we ordered early. So when the bride called and found out our order wasn't placed, Lizelle said it was because I never called with my measurements. So the bride gave her my measurements. However, I just received a HEATED phone call from Lizelle herself in which she actually yelled at me--blaming me for the fact that the order was never placed, and trying to get me to "admit" to not calling with my measurements. It was so crazy. And furious. Here's what I don't understand: 1. Even if I never called with my measurements (which, again, I did) why didn't an employee of Lizelle's call the bride after a month or so and say that the order hadn't been placed yet due to missing information? Or, even, after two months, or three months? This, to me, is completely unacceptable. How was the bride not notified? 2. Why wasn't anyone told that the order wasn't being placed to begin with? Lizelle kept saying (aggressively) on our phone call that this is "industry standard" and said we were LACKING COMMON SENSE. The bride is a 25-year-old first-time bride, and most of the bridesmaids are first-time bridesmaids. Why would Lizelle ever assume customers (especially those in their early to mid 20s) are familiar with the ordering-bridesmaids-dresses "industry standard." I mean, COM'ON. 3. Lizelle repeatedly (again, aggressively) referred to a "pink slip receipt" that was mailed to me. I vaguely remember receiving this, but don't remember the details. But doesn't a "receipt" mean that the order was placed? Otherwise, why would I receive a receipt? 4. Finally, and perhaps most important, a business owner has NEVER called to yell at me before. Ever! I repeatedly said to her "I don't understand the purpose of this call." Why was she calling to yell at me? Why wouldn't she just place the order? How was this helpful or necessary? If anything, it just made the situation worse. I worked as a busgirl/hostess/waitress from ages 14 - 26 -- and I never, ever once was aggressive toward or raised my voice at or accused a customer of doing something wrong. ESPECIALLY if I was unsure if I was right. I mean, just solve the problem. 5. I just saw that another yelp review (9/24/10) says that the staff yells at customers. Simply unbelievable. This place doesn't deserve any stars. I was looking for a particular bridal dress and this place so happened to have the one I wanted to try on. I called and made an appointment. They were nice and friendly on the phone so I thought it was be the day I would say yes to the dress, boy was I wrong!! The day I went for my appointment, I called ahead to say that I was arriving a bit late for my appointment. The woman on the phone stated that it was nothing to worry about, and there was no other appointments after me. My bridesmaids and I walked in and I didn't feel really welcomed. I was introduced to a woman named Lara and she gave me a form to fill out. By the time I was done(and it doesn't take too long to fill out the form), both employees weren't around. I was patient and waited. Lara brought my bridesmaids and I upstairs. She explained the different levels of prices and stated that there was a 20% discount for today. I was really excited to try on the dress that I was looking for, but I wanted to see what other options there were, so I tried on a few others. By the time I narrowed down two of my options(and it was over my time limit of one hour), I wanted to try on the dress again. Lara was pretty pushy saying that I was over the time limit and they have another person coming in after me. But if I really wanted to try it on, I can. (That's funny, they told me on the phone that there were no other appointments after me.) I was pretty offended and said I didn't wanted to try it on anymore. By the time I changed in my regular clothes, she reconfirmed that the 20% would apply to the dresses ONLY for that day, so if I wanted the discount, I would have to at least call in by 4 O'clock pm. We walked out the store without hearing them say "Thank you for stopping by." I didn't bother calling them back. Even though they offered a nice discount on bridal dresses, they need better customer service. I remember walking out and feeling like I wanted to cry because of how crappy they attitude was towards me. Why buy a dress with them if I felt like that? They don't deserve my business and they don't deserve anyone else's either. So I bought mine at Le Bella Donna. read more

I found the staff at Lizelles to be incredibly helpful, thoughtful and kind. I was very impressed by the staff when I went with my sister-in-law while she looked at bridal gowns, as well as when I went to try on bridesmaids dresses. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, knew their stock in an out, and gave my SIL an excellent selection of dresses that were to her taste. When I went to try on bridesmaids dresses, they let me browse as long as I wanted, offered help throughout my time in the store and answered my multiple questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would like a very personalized experience and wants to see a small local business thrive. read more

Professionalism and good customer service is lacking. As a bride comes into the store seeking the most important part of her wedding day: the dress, one would expect that phone calls would be returned and clear answers would be given when asking questions such as "What size should I order?" None of these things happened for me. The first day I went into the store I was in love! They do have am amazing selection of dresses and I found my dream gown. However when I let the owner know that I was purchasing my bridesmaids dresses elsewhere she looked less than pleased. She would not allow my family or friends to take pictures of the dress until she was given a deposit. This is unfortunate because it puts a bad taste in your mouth from the start. When ordering my dress I was very confused that I was not given a direct answer of what size to order. Instead I was told "We don't like to tell our brides what size dress to get." Well that is GREAT for you that you can skip out of the responsibility and all but like most brides this is my FIRST time purchasing a wedding dress and I HAVE NO CLUE what size I should order. Once my dress arrived we had a fitting for the length. This proved to be a disaster. My dress was way too short (2.45 inches to be exact) and when I asked about it I was told it was the tulle under the dress and that the problem would be solved by steaming. I was also told that if I lost a few pounds it would give the dress length. (WHAT?!) Who says that to the bride?! Anyway, as I am not a professional in this field I let it roll off my back and decided to blindly trust Liz, who suggested that the dress would fall once the tulle had been steamed and left to hang for a few weeks. I figured anyone who is open for 25 + years has way more experience so who am I to question that? In the meantime my mother ordered her dress. The first dress she ordered came in as the wrong color and also the wrong size. It was way too small. My mother is approximately a size 0-2 petite in dresses. She is TINY! And when this dress was too small Liz suggested that my mother must have made a mistake and ordered a size smaller because she wanted to drop the weight. She blamed my mom for not losing weight when my mom never had and never will intend to lose weight! This is the second time that Liz made negative comments about people losing weight. This made for an uncomfortable situation. My mother ordered a new dress and it turned out to be beautiful! I mean it when I say the selections Lizelle's has are gorgeous! However my mother decided to try to find another location to get her alterations because she didn't want anymore conflict or stress. At this same appointment I selected my belt but it was suggested to me by one of the employees that I check out this other belt that was coming in. I was told I would get a phone call when the belt arrived and I could come in and see it. Well no call ever came and I waited to buy all of my accessories until I saw this belt. Impatience got the better of me and I called them MULTIPLE times to ask if I could come in and see the belt. I got a phone call back about a week later when the belt was already sold. I was forced to buy the belt I originally liked simply so I would be able to buy my jewelry and other accessories. Being a yogi, I decided this was the choice that was supposed to be made so I let it roll off my back as a "meant to be" situation. When I ordered my belt I was told in 3-6 weeks it would be in. It is still not here and I have only a short time until my wedding. I am currently looking for backups just in case. I have since picked up my dress to have alterations elsewhere. I cannot handle the stress of not getting phone calls returned and not having my attire locked down for my wedding. At my first fitting at another seamstress, I was told that the length of my dress was way too short and looked silly. I instantly began sobbing after the woman explained that because the design of the dress was so detailed, she would have to take my dress completely apart to solve the problem. She also said that Lizelle's not only allowed me to buy a dress too small, but that she would have to let the dress out because no amount of weight will ever change the width of your ribs or the length of a dress. They didn't accurately measure me! I've lost about 14 pounds since the first fitting and so I knew it wasn't me being crazy or a difficult bride. I am a believer in karma and I am truly not the type of person to seek out negativity but I do feel as though I need to share my experience so that other brides are aware of the amount of stress this shop has caused me and my family. read more

They have an in-house alterations lady that does everything for a flat rate, but she's only in a few times a week, appt only. For her upcoming wedding, one of my girlfriend's selected bridesmaid dresses from Lizelle's. It was my first time dealing with this store, and hopefully my last. While nothing terrible happened, the overall experience wasn't pleasant. For starters, they are understaffed. Even though we had an appointment, 15 to 20 minutes went by before anyone helped us. It would not have been as aggravating if someone could have at least greeted us, and provided us with a reasonable wait time. Instead, we kind of just stood there and felt like we were getting in their way. For busy days, like Saturdays, they need to enforce a strict 'by appointment only' policy, or have more help. When it came to showing us different dresses, the sales person was very knowledgeable of their inventory. And while I could understand how some people might perceive her as being rude, I thought she was efficient, which helped speed up what could have been a very time consuming process. My girlfriend did not make her final decision that day, but ended up calling the store a few days later about a particular dress. She was quoted a price of approximately $140, and gave the 'ok' for us girls to order the dress. When I went in to get measured a few days later, I was told a different price. According to the owner, there was no way that particular dress could have been priced at $140, and approximately $180 was the lowest she was willing to go. I call my girlfriend to re-confirm the price & name of the person she spoke with on the phone but Lizelle's refused to honor the price. While that's understandable, it's still frustrating. And this brings me to my last bit of annoyance with Lizelle's. Prior to going in to get measured, I had checked out the brand's online sizing chart so I had an idea of what size I would be. By my measurements, I was a size 4; however, Lizelle's recommended a size 8 or 10. I was really confused by the large discrepancy in sizing, and asked what she had taken for my measurements. Her numbers were off by 2+ inches. For instance, my bust was just measured at VS a week before as 32" but she had me as a 36". When I called her out on it, she said they measure differently than VS. That doesn't make sense...a measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust should provide the same measurements regardless of where you get it done. I still felt a little nervous ordering the size 4 since it was so much smaller than their recommendations, but I kept thinking about the bad reviews regarding incorrect sizing at Lizelle's. A couple of months later, and me about 5 pounds heavier, the dress arrived. And guess what? The size 4 fit perfectly. So how in the world would they have expected a size 8 or 10 to fit me without pricey alterations??? Granted, Lizelle's doesn't tell you what size to order, they only make recommendations. But since they are the "experts", you would expect their recommendations to be on point...wrong! If you must use this store, get measured elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend this bridal boutique to anyone who expects even the slightest bit of customer service when preparing for the most important day of their lives. Target has better customer service in their dressing rooms and I'm pretty sure they are self-serve. I was recently here with a bridal party of 7 and the experience was actually comical. Really, we couldn't help but laugh at the end of it. I think it was more of a nervous laugh, like how can a bridal boutique who has been around for so long lack the one thing its supposed to provide - costumer service for you and your bridal party. There were 2 women working, but it would be hard to tell since all they did was sit on the phone or gossip about someones daughter the whole time. When we did try to ask for help, they acted annoyed and it almost felt like we were bothering them to help us. We were barely greeted when we walked in, we had to clip and belt the dress ourselves and had ZERO guidance during the whole experience. We had made this appointment a month out, the bride was so excited to finally show us our dress that we would be wearing on the big day and as cliche as this might sound, the whole experience lost its magic due to awful service. We loved the dress, but I will tell you that we will NOT be ordering it from Lizelle's. Everyone in the bridal party is in their mid twenties - do you know how many weddings we all have within the next few years? Do you know how many sales we could have gotten for them? How many recommendations for future bridal parties? Yeah, that won't be happening. Oh and to top it all off, we found the same exact dress elsewhere for almost $100 cheaper :) read more

I had a great experience getting my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses at Lizelle's. It's the shop many friends and family have used. In the transition of the new ownership it took a little bit to stay on top of things. But very quickly everything seemed to smooth out and get on track. My bridesmaid dresses we're delayed by the manufacturer. I called to check up on their arrival a couple of times and everyone was very helpful and responsive. They would call the dress maker and get back to me with updated information in a very timely manor. I purchased a wedding dress sample as it was the size I would have ordered. I went for my first fitting and apparently accidentally lost weight. My dress needed a ton of alterations and the tailor/seamstress on site was fantastic! The beading and lace work on my dress is perfect, the bustle she put in is unique and I couldn't be happier. I'm confident my dress will fit perfectly and be comfortable for my big day as well as no one will be stepping on my dress! My sisters dress also needed alterations and she feels just as good about her dress. She ordered the appropriate size based on her measurements and the recommendation of the staff at Lizelle's but had been working out and therefore required alterations. The staff at Lizelle's provided guidance along the way, I did call and ask questions here and there, and everyone was always more than helpful! Any dress shop isn't going to do it for you as they don't know you but Lizelle's was definitely there every step of the way and provided helpful recommendations! read more

I have had many great experiences at Lizelle's so far, and am going back for more! I have gotten bridesmaids dresses for two separate weddings here. Both times, they allowed myself and the other bridesmaids to pursue the racks at our own pace and try on anything we wanted. We were never rushed, and the consultants even offered their own input, which was much appreciated! They also are very respectful when measuring their customers. When I returned to pick up one of the dresses, I told them I wanted to get it altered at my own tailor, and there was absolutely no pressure to get it tailored there. They also offer some great discounts if you order as a group, or if the bride ordered at Lizelle's. For both wedding there were bridesmaids that lived in other states, and they said if they called into the store with their measurements, they would get the same discount as the rest of the bridal party. I am recently engaged myself, and am about to schedule yet another appointment at Lizelle's - this time as a bride! read more

I stopped in after receiving a message clarifying they had plus size dresses in stock for the designer I was looking for. Not only did they not have plus size dresses in stock, the older woman working said I should have been fortunate that they were open since they are only open by appointment. (Why have store hours if only by appointment?) They only had one dress to try on and they will not measure you without a deposit for a dress. I actually came here for my veil when I got married, but the service today was completely unacceptable. The woman working was rude and acted like I was an inconvenience. This was my first time to Lizelle's and it was absolutely awful. I am a bridesmaid and when I went, the bride chose many dresses to have us girls try on. Finding out that MOST dresses were a size 2 or 4. I could not try the dress on in my size, so I was a bit uncertain on ordering the dress in the first place. I was measured and was told I was a size 18. When in real "street" clothes I am a size 6. I tried on a similar dress that was a size 14 & it was still big. I went ahead and ordered the size 14 because they told me to, but was VERY unhappy. My dress came in, I took it home only to find out I can put the dress on without unzipping it. I am EXTREMLEY disgusted with the fact that now I need to pay $100 in alterations ontop of the fact that the dress was already over $200. Needless to say I will never recommend anyone to this Boutique due to the fact of poor customer service, along with how adamant they were about the size, even though they were 100% wrong! read more

Do not go here. I cannot even begin to describe how unprofessional they are. My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from Lizelle's well in advance of my wedding date. They ordered the wrong size for one of my bridesmaids; the dress was several sizes too small. It was their error, they said they'd order a new dress, no big deal. I called them a few weeks before my wedding to inquire about the dress. They didn't answer the phone and did not return my messages. I kept trying to get in contact with them. Three days before my wedding. Still no dress and no idea of when it will arrive. They accused us of ordering the wrong size and then said we lied about the wedding date. Long story short, my mom had to pick up the bridesmaid's dress at 9am on the day of my wedding. During this whole process, the employees yelled at my mom. Several times. Classy. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'm not sure how they are still in business. If you look at the other reviews, you'll see my experience was not unusual. read more

The bride made an appointment for 3 of her 5 bridesmaids (the other 2 being out of town) and there was absolutely no point in having an appointment... when we walked in, we were greeted with a frazzled woman talking about needing to get the place ready to open (I'm unsure what time they open on a Saturday, but if our appointment is at 10:30, I suggest having it ready by 10:30). We were then told to browse the dresses and we would be "on the left." Once we picked a few dresses we were ready to try on. Having no idea where "on the left was," we walked back to where the employee was so we could ask. She ignored the 4 of us standing there as she talked to another employee. Someone else had to show us to our 2 dressing rooms. It seemed that no one else was being helped either, as a bride (in her bridal gown) had to ask her employee to stop talking and help her (a completely justified bridal meltdown). Two of our bridesmaids are tiny girls, so of course the sample dresses are too large on them. We receive no help in clipping the dresses so they can see the full effect. We are able to find a few clips and start trying to clip the extra material ourselves when the employee comes over, makes fun of us for "not doing it correctly." The bride politely, but firmly mentions that she doesn't work here so she shouldn't need to know how to clip correctly. The employee got the hint and clipped a few dresses for us. As we are trying on dresses, another employee comes into one of our dressing rooms, takes the dresses out and "asks" if we can all use one dressing room as they had a group of 9 come in that they weren't expecting (again, why did we schedule an appointment?). We had no choice and the girl started taking dresses away. She ended up putting 2 dresses back that we needed to try on again, which caused more chaos. As for me, I am pregnant (due in December), so I had the other two bridesmaids trying on dresses for me. When I asked what we are to do about ordering, the employee said we needed to order soon so they arrive in time for the June wedding. The bride stepped out, called another bridal boutique that she had visited, and was told we can order the dresses and have them in 4 months (meaning we can order in January and be fine). The employee offered me no help as to how they will size my dress if they are measuring me with such a large stomach, etc. read more

Amazing little store! I'm helping my partner's sister plan her wedding, and after doing some research we ended up with a 3pm Appointment with Liz. The shop is amazing - 1st floor is reserved for bridesmaids, matrons of honor, and mother of the bride dresses and dressing rooms. The 2nd floor is reserved for the bride - all types of sample dresses and designers and mirrors. Liz asked questions to find out what style and design Mallory liked, and then showed us 9 different samples - all that Mallory tried on. It was amazing! The store has a selection of shoes and bras (strapless and regular) if the bride to be didn't bring along shoes or strapless bras for the dresses! Added bonus! At the end of our hour, Liz picked out a dress that none of us were too keen on... However, when Mallory tried it on we all sighed with a profound amazement! She was so beautiful and dignified in this simple dress by La Spozza that we had discounted as not an option! I was mystified! I definitely recommend this place to any bride to be!! The service is amazing and the prices are very reasonable! Plus if you purchase your dress during your first appointment, they give you 20% off - enough to cover the cost of a veil! read more

Had a great experience at Lizelle's! After shopping at two other boutiques with an average experience, I fell right at home shopping at Lizelle's. An unexpected life event occurred the day of my appointment, and Lizelle's was understanding and accommodating, they rescheduled my appointment for later that day. My consultant was friendly and personable. Though I thought I wanted a A-line dress, after looking at my dress picks my consultant realized what I was really looking for was a ballgown. I had no idea! Needless to say, dress searching became a lot simpler after this realization. My consultant helped me into many dresses, and never once tried to convince me to buy something I didn't like. When I finally found my dress, she let me put it on twice, including with the accessories. They helped me with sizing, and were professional and pleasant from start to finish. Once you buy a dress here - the service goes down the drain! Purchased my daughters' bridesmaid dresses for their sister's wedding. They went to try on the dress once it was purchased and we were just handed the dress. Received no assistance whatsoever! Had to ask a girl to help get the dress off the hanger because it was attached to hanger in a knot & I felt like we were burdening her! I hope we don't get the same treatment upon our return for alterations. Left a bad taste in my mouth - horrible customer service. Lizelle's was wonderful to work with when buying my dress. However, the problem occurred when my dress was preserved. My mother had my dress preserved in July and she paid that day. September rolled around and we set up an appointment to pick up my dress. The day before my appointment someone from the store left a message saying that they needed to cancel my appointment. I called back later that day and was told that my dress was sent home with a different customer. I was immediately trying not to freak out and was told that it would be given back. At this point I was very hurt that this mistake even happened. It took months of trying to communicate with them to get my dress back to the store. For whatever the reason they did not go get it back from the person. By November they had my dress back in store. When I went to pick up the dress they refused to do anything to make it right. I paid for this service on good faith however, they had no problem with sending it home with someone else. I asked for the owner to call me and she has refused. I would never ever recommend them to anyone. They do not care what happens to your dress once they have your money. I was left feeling anxious, nervous, and uncertain about if my dress would come back. read more

Lori, the seamstress, is amazing!! I came here with a dress purchased from another shop that was too tight and I needed major alterations for a wedding I was in. Not only did the lovely ladies at Lizelles take me in, they assured me that they could help me. And they did! Not only was Lori able to take out the dress she custom tailored it to my body. I felt a million times better in the dress. Great experience and I'd def. go back for any dress alterations or dress shopping for my next event!! read more

Do NOT go here. I had a horrible experience all around. I bought my bridesmaids dresses, wedding dress and alterations here. The alterations were horrible and the people and owner were rude, condescending and horrible. The worst past was when I went to pick up my dress, they were CLOSED for the holidays and would not reopen until after my wedding! They did not tell me or call me to let me know. When I finally got ahold of someone, they were rude and acted like it was my fault. I would think if your entire business was wedding dresses, you would make sure all the dresses were picked up before you close! Do not ruin your experience by choosing Lizelle's. read more

I was measured for a bridesmaid dress and was told to get 3 sizes up than I normally am. I was hesitant but was told I wouldn't want it to be too small. When my dress came, it was so big it wouldn't stay up on it's own. I was swimming in it. I refused to get it altered there and ended up spending about the price as the actual dress. I am not sure why Lizelle's told me to get such a big dress but I am very annoyed that I needed so many alterations. read more

Amazing Boutique!! I do normally write reviews, so I thought I would comment on the few reviews posted below and my own experience at Lizelle's. I know this store very well as I have shopped there many times and each and every time I had the best experience imaginable. The staff was extremely helpful and really nice. They are very knowledgeable about their merchandise; and what makes this store different from the rest is that it is a small boutique with personalized service. This is not a big store, but they have lots of really great dresses and they always discount. I think it is a shame when people like Alicia O express that they are "afraid" to visit a business based on 1 or 2 negative reviews. According to Lizelle's web site, this store has been in business since 1984 (27 years); and there have been only "3" unsatisfied customers who posted reviews on Yelp.com. I wonder how many "satisfied" customers this business has serviced in 27 years? I think it is terrible that any business is at risk of losing customers (or even just this one) because of 1 or 2 negative reviews. Pam M's review is quite clear...she forgot to order her dress; thus, she held up the entire bridal party order. She is mad that the store called her to inquire. She got busted and she is now mad, this one is easy to figure out. She says so many times in her review "Here is what I don't understand". Well that's the problem; she didn't understand that she needed to order her dress with the other bridesmaids. Hopefully the majority of the internet population can read through this one and not be scared off like Alicia O. Gabriel M. called Lizelle's "100" times in "one" day--and counted the dials on his cell phone? He also says he left one message (out of the 100 dials) but was never contacted back? Oh yeah, he also made all 100 calls with his wife at his side? And lastly, he said he would not hire Lizelle's to change his cat litter. What does changing cat litter have to do with ordering a dress? Seriously, does anyone out there really believe this is true? Again, hopefully the majority of the internet population can read through this one as well. For me, I don't like to be persuaded by one or two negative reviews as in my experience in both writing and reading them online, most of the negative reviews/experiences are in fact driven by the reviewer and not the actual businesses. As a reader of reviews, I don't know the reviewer well enough to really judge whether or not they are the type of person who would exaggerate; or someone who lacks intelligence; thus, has a hard time understanding policy and procedures. Moreover, they might just be highly dysfunctional and find themselves in turmoil all the time. I know someone very much like this and everything she touches turns to "you know what" and it is always the other person's fault. There are always two sides to every story and unfortunately we don't get to read the other side all the time. I know Tripadvisor.com allows businesses to respond and post their comment for clarification. Yelp.com does not have this component. Again, I think it is terrible that Lizelle's may lose business as a result of one or two negative reviews online, and for what it is worth, this store treated me and my family with the utmost respect, service and kindness. I would definitely recommend this store and would go as far as to say that it is one of the best bridal store in the Philadelphia area. read more

I was very excited to go to Lizelles Bridal to try on my first wedding dresses. When I got there, it turned into a nightmare. I had been calling for weeks before, and never was able to get a hold of anyone at the store. Finally, when I did get a hold of someone to schedule my appointment, they double booked me. The day of my appointment, I walked in and they first started telling me that "I was at noon" but, they were mistaken. I saw in the book that my name was erased and another bride placed over top of mine. It was awful! They were not accommodating and basically said "Oh well, nothing we can do about our mistake". Needless to say, I will not be going back to them to try on any dresses. read more
