I've always enjoyed this place. It's a great place To come and hang out with your friends. It is also a sweet little spot for a date. Just a local , friendly bar. We've been going to LJs since they opened and know its changed hands at least once. We did take out tonight and it wasn't great. My spring wrap was full but it was canned chicken and the dressing wasn't good or as it was before. My husband ordered potato skins. He mentioned they had barely any toppings or taste. We were disappointed and not sure we'll go again even though we've went for years. read more

Beer was cold... food still isn't here, been 45 minutes. We literally only ordered an appetizer. Table next to us, sat down moments before us, had their food, ate, and has left. Much brighter than it used to be in here, but the reliable quality, timely service seems to have disappeared with new ownership. We will not be returning. read more

We haven't been to LJ's for awhile so decided to try it out again. The food was ok if you like burned buns for your fish sandwich. My spring chicken wrap and the onion rings and fries were good. It took over 40 minutes to get our food. We wont be trying it out again any time soon. read more

Extremely slow, 50% of my tables orders were completely wrong. Waited additional hour to get those corrected. Service is terrible, cooks didn't wear appropriate hair or beard nets or even hats for that matter. This place is a health code violation waiting to happen. read more

Sad that they don't have the GM that was hired at the start of the month here anymore. Came in for just some apps an drinks an you could tell that he wasn't there. The first and most important thing is the fries here are AMAZING. Not sure if they're double fried or a cornmeal batter or what, but these are the best fries ever. Came here tonight after seeing they're open until 11:30, we set down at 9:40. The woman who set us also was our server, she pretty much tossed out menus and silverware on the table. We were met with obvious disdain and were hurried through the whole meal. Only the bill took awhile to get. The food was a 7 the service a 1. We tip well for good service, she still got more then deserved. We realize people are working extra and are short staffed, that doesn't excuse such bad service. We were frequent customers here since it opened. Not as much now. The original owners sold the place and since then they don't seem as busy. The food is typical pub fare, nothing unique exceptional. The ambiance has been dimished also. Napkins in a dispenser, a fork in a bag for utensils, less menu items. We rarely eat there now. A more upscale pub fare would bring people back. read more

Best neighborhood bar and grill in my area. Go to this place all the time and never got anything that I didn't like. Packed on the weekends so get there early for dinner. Consistently great food every. Single. Time. I do not have any one favorite meal, when I eat @ L.Js. it's always good. This visit I chose the chicken taco salad. Crispy shell even to the last bite. Seasoned lightly. The mixed berry dessert cake was fantastic & perfect small portion size. read more

We stopped here after seeing positive reviews and wanting to grab a bite to eat as we were traveling across Highway 20. We arrived around 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. The hostess seemed thrown off when I told her that I didn't care of we were seated in a booth or a high top table. They appeared to only be seating in the bar area at that time, but that was fine. We ordered our food and literally had it sitting in front of us 4 minutes later. We were very pleasantly surprised. I had the butterfly shrimp basket with fries. The fries were battered and very good & everything was super hot and fresh. My boyfriend had the voodoo chicken sandwich which came with pineapple salsa on the side. This all had great flavor and a kick to it. He also upgraded his side to the sweet potato fries. These sweet potato fries were dusted in cinnamon & sugar and came with a caramel dipping sauce. We had never had them that way and were intrigued to try them. They were very good and sort of reminded us of a state fair food treat. The bar area was clean and spacious. There were plenty of tv's all over to watch the games. The audio and the majority of the screens were on the ISU football game, so we enjoyed getting to catch up on that. Nice place! read more

Staff: excellent Atmosphere: great Food: below average My mom ordered the chicken sandwich with pineapple salsa, and her chicken was a 1/3 the size of her bun. I wish I had taken a picture; it was bad. My chicken sandwich was okay. The fries were meh. My brother ordered a burger, which he said was pretty good, but he did say it seemed like they didn't really do anything to season the meat. It was just hamburger. Good food and a nice atmosphere. I had to ask for more sauerkraut on my Reuben, but once I got that doled onto the sandwich, it was really good. Really good fries too. The best thing we liked was our server (Megan) she was super-helpful and really friendly. It's definitely a sports bar, but the noon service was nice and quiet, which we really enjoyed. It wasn't too pricey ($25 for two, with sodas and $4 tip). We'll definitely be back again. read more

I popped into LJs for dinner and some football games. (Cyclones fans were representing up in LJs!) I had a half order of the Mucho Nachos (chicken) as my started and the sirloin dinner with an Arnold Palmer to wash it all down. First things first- the Arnold Palmer was perfectly mixed! Then came the Mucho Nachos. This was among the best seasoned grilled chicken nachos that I've ever had! (Good job!) The server brought me a side of LJs Salsa which was really good and a side of homemade pineapple chutney (which I had never had before) I was in heaven! I should have made that my dinner and ordered the whole nachos instead of just the half order. When my sirloin arrived, I was disappointed. It didn't have much flavor and was a little tough and chewy. But! I would definitely recommend LJs if you wanna get catch a game and eat some good bar food! read more

I took the recommendation for the grouper and had the wrap very tasty and not your typical bar grill food. Great service and very nice to the kids and they got a ring pop after the meal.
