we were thrilled with our new floor when it was installed 2 years ago but over time, the floor in a small hallway buckled and cracked. they sent out a tech who told me that I have serious substrate issues made worse by a pier and beam foundation. I do not have a pier and beam foundation my house was built in 1949 with a slab foundation. he insisted I was wrong and said they couldn't do anything till I got a professional to fix the substrate. the company I called came in and assured me I had a concrete slab with stringers. the hardwood floor and stringers were completely rotted out in that area and were completely black and wet. they found a leak in the drain pipe behind my bathroom sink. I'm not blaming Land L for the flooring issue or the leak. they should have never installed that section of floor on top of rotten wet wood. this occurred over a period of years and they covered it up anyway. I will never use this company again. the salespeople are great but the installer Jason is is a first class con man. now I k ow why their price is cheaper than some others. you get what you pay for. Unlike the Horror Stories I've Read, this is a Positive Review~ I just built my home and vowed I would not let Ryland Builders install my hardwood flooring. Ryland's Designer quoted me at $13,000 for the foyer, an office and the family room "roughly 1,000 square feet" and LL quoted me at $19,500 for my entire 3500 square foot home with a military discount. I chose a nice engineered hardwood and while the labor bid was high, after seeing how much work ripping up carpet, removing nails, cleaning up the dirt and dust that Ryland left under the brand new carpet, I'm glad I paid the labor fees. Some people can do the DIY projects but not this girl and something's are worth paying for to do correctly. My installer was fantastic, it took a day to remove the carpet and debris but the workers got the entire job done in five days. They explained the process and stayed on track and answered all my questions. Jarred from LL came out and did my measurements for free and his estimate was spot on. The installers were very professional and Jarred came back and picked up the extra materials not used and refunded the products back to my credit card that I used as a down payment. I financed the floors and am happily taking advantage of the no interest for two years. The floors were on sale when I purchased over Memorial Day weekend and they stored the floors for me until I could close on my house. Cameron and Jarred called me frequently to check on the status of the closing date and I couldn't be happier. They were very courteous, my floors look fabulous, I'm pleased with the service and am relieved my experience was a pleasant one unlike some of the horror stories I've recently read. I guess you need to ask for Cameron or Jarrred, they will take care of you. I am posting 3 months after my floors were installed because that seems to be about the time people noticed some issues... We visited LL trying to find flooring we like. We had shopped here many years ago but didn't buy. So due to our previous experience we knew they had a lot to choose from. However my memory of that, apparently was faulty or they have less of the flooring we were shopping for to choose from. Also the small 4" sample isn't large enough to get a good feel for how it will look since it is a very small sample of a larger piece that has many color changes/variations throughout. Be sure to take a look at the photo of each showing the type installed. It looks much much different. Consequently due to the small volume to choose from and the small samples we weren't able to really even come close to a choice. FYI if you already have a contractor they do have contractor pricing. She helped locate additional flooring and calculated approximately the square foot needed for my home project. She ensured if I had too much that I could return the unused flooring. I came into the building with a simple request of one box of hardwood. They started off by telling me that it would only take about 15 minutes, but between their deception and their lack of change, I stand here an hour later with the same need for hardwood that I came in with. In the last hour, the man who seems to be in charge has said the statement "I'm headed out to get change right after this" 7 times, while his apparent #2 has asked me for my phone number and zip code 3 times. It is the most poorly run, manipulative establishment I have ever stepped foot in. The workers were on time, courteous and professional. They prepped, leveled, and sealed the 3 rooms the first day and laid the wood and cleaned up in 2 days. We made only one change early on in one room and they replaced the one board quickly. Communication with the sales office was good. I purchased over $10,000 in flooring. The flooring product itself is nice, but the installation was extremely crap. The floor creaks, they shipped different colors of trim - I suspect they didn't have enough so sent a different brand that doesn't match. The installers cracked the moldings, nails sticking out. After numerous delays, they sent someone to correct, but he didn't replace the mismatching molding and I am still finding loose trim and cracked molding. Better off going with lowes or home depot in my opinion. read more

I'm so incredibly furious with this place. I've tried calling multiple times to express our dissatisfaction and no one answers. My husband and I bought laminate for our living room from here. Most of it was a close out and some was not. The grooves thar attach the floor were different so we were assured that was an easy fix. We could just cut them and glue them. Not only did that not work at all but the largest majority of our floor wouldn't properly connect together. So now we have huge gaps and the floor comes up and moves all the time. I'm so furious. Our house is almost new. This was supposed to be an upgrade and now we're probably going to have to do it all again. I feel we were misled and want our money back. We are still trying to fill in gaps on our floor and we put it down over a month ago. Makes me mad every time I walk on it. read more

While the in-store staff is helpful and polite, you should NOT get Lumber Liquidators' Texas Installers to install your floor. The website mentions "Installation that is 100% guaranteed," and nothing could be farther from the truth in my case. I paid $2706.55 to have 1463 sq ft of vinyl plank flooring installed in January 2018, and they have yet to fix problems with the installation despite multiple emails, phone calls and submission of photos of the problems. I contacted Lumber Liquidators many times from the end of January to the end of March 2018. Still NO repairs. read more

Went into Lumber Liquidators in San Antonio (Loop 410) as we have a 2nd family home that is 65 yrs old and needs new flooring throughout the entire house. Talked to salesman about the quality and style of wood floor - a little about the extras that would need to be done for a good installation that we would want a professional to do. He offered to send an installer out to assess the current floor and what it would need to make it ready for installation which sounded correct to me. We set a time in the next few days but then he asserted there would be a service charge for someone to assess the floors. I walked out the door. Lumber Liquidators lost my business to purchase a full house of flooring and an installer lost the job too. Poor business tactics. I will find a contractor that I trust before I pay anyone. First line of business is to establish trust - RUN (don't hesitate) from this store. Never pay anyone to spend money with them before you know who they are. read more

I went to LL to get some new flooring to replace old flooring (due to a flood in the house), as well as upgrade my carpet to some nice bamboo. I paid for them to estimate the labor based on square feet, ($25). The estimator came over and did his regular rigamarole with his sketch pad and tape measure. He walked on all the floors that were to be re-done, saw the damage, etc. I asked him about the glue from the old flooring, and he stated that the installers would only have to scrape off the high spots, and that the new pad and flooring could go directly over the old glue. I asked him if he were sure, and he said that that was a common practice. He did not put the cost of time/labor entry of the demo into the original quote. I signed up, as I thought this was a fair price for the amount of work to be done overall. My flooring came in, and I was advised to let the flooring acclimate to my house environment. This would be three weeks additional time of me not having more than sticky concrete floors. I scheduled with the installers to come on a certain day, and they showed up promptly. During their presence here, they called their manager and insisted that the floor needed to be demo'ed to continue with the job. The store concurred with the installers that an additional $700+ would have to be paid for them to continue. Needless to say, I was rather upset. I agreed to payment to have them continue so I did not have to wait another month while I got the floor demo'ed, and for them to re-schedule. I went back to the store and spoke with the manager there, and he pushed the complaint up the corporate ladder. They agreed that they could offer me half of the cost of the demo. I was adamant that the estimator did not put this into the quote, and they were pulling a bait-and-switch. After calling several times, the Asst. Mgr. at the store pushed it up the ladder again. After some negotiating, they agreed to pay for half the cost of the demo and debris haul-off fee. Had I not paid, I would still be walking on sticky concrete floors. I am very satisfied with the materials and the results of the install. I am di-enchanted with their policy of having someone tell me one thing in an estimate, and having another department state that I had to have the work done at additional cost. Had they stated the cost of the demo in the original estimate, I would have paid. Needless to say, I will not be dealing with LL in the future. Please get everything your estimator says IN WRITING. read more

Went to the I-35 store, and was not impressed. Salesman on the floor seemed overwhelmed and complained about the lack of help. Scheduled an in home estimate that they failed to show up for, and blamed us because we did not respond to an e-mail? Really? Then why did you bother to get our phone numbers for? Prices are like everyone else's...so shop around. We got better service at the other location in town, though. We ended up going with someone else that had better pricing. read more
