I remember Sal coming over and recommending a landscape designer to see what was possible, this delayed the process but it was absolutely the right call. They were in the middle for pricing but sals local knowledge and no nonsense attitude were key factors for me. I got stacci confirmed and sal and his team got to work. The staff is top notch and did an amazing job, not just for the main driveway expansion job, but also with reconfiguring my steps (towards the top) to be wider and more welcoming (which I didn't even have specs for!). Sal is full of good ideas and executes beyond expectations, he has a critical eye and will have his guys redo it if he doesn't like it. I highly recommend Stasi and can see why others do as well. I called and spoke to Erin and Kelly about the issue and they sent Sal to look at the crack. To my surprise all the nice things I said about Sal went out the window when he rudely said 'cant do anything, let me me know when it gets bigger'. Everything I googled on cracks in Cement state "if it's a headline crack it can be fixed easily and Not to wait till it gets larger" ...more or larger cracks are more difficult to repair" and more costly. I know that this was not the Sal I knew. He sounded more like his uncle Joe, arrogant and disrespectful. In the mean time Joe, do the right thing and let YOUR workers come and seal the crack. This is your fault. I told Sal when they poured the cement that the root of the tree needed to be cut out but you and your men said it didn't matter. I only redid the block of cement because they were lifting a little. The old cement was there for 30 years and had NO cracks. Just a little lift at seam. You are a business you need to take care of your customers. Btw sand that was put between nicklock pavers is still missing and you charged me over 11,000 for the work that has overspilled cement on pavers. I didn't even complain about that last October. If you want me to update this review I recommend that Joe tells Sal to fix this issue.

1 Star - Defective Work, No Contract, Avoided Responsibility…read moreI hired Long Island Mason & Concrete Corp in June 2024 to pour a concrete patio for $5,900. The experience was a nightmare from start to finish. The Problems: The contractor requested payment in cash and never provided a written contract, which is required by New York law for jobs over $500. Within one week of the pour, two slabs began flaking and scaling. I immediately contacted the contractor. The work was done on a 100-degree day. When I raised concerns about the extreme heat affecting the concrete, the contractor acknowledged "this is the result of extreme heat" but refused to take responsibility as the professional who should have managed weather conditions or rescheduled. Months of Delays: Instead of promptly addressing the defects, the contractor stalled for months. When he finally offered to replace the two damaged slabs, he demanded I sign a liability waiver and warned the new concrete wouldn't match the color of the existing slabs - meaning I'd have a permanently mismatched patio due to his defective work. I offered a reasonable cash settlement to resolve the issue. He refused. I had no choice but to file a complaint with Nassau County Consumer Affairs. Official Violations: Consumer Affairs cited the contractor for multiple violations, including failure to provide a written contract (violation 202360, originally a $2,500 fine). He only agreed to a settlement after facing thousands in fines and potential license suspension. Ongoing Defects: After settling, two additional slabs developed structural cracks running completely across the slabs from joint to joint. All four slabs now show defects, confirming my original concern that the entire pour was compromised. Bottom Line: For a $5,900 job, I received a defective patio that required a 7-month battle through Consumer Affairs to get partial compensation. The contractor operates without proper contracts, pours in extreme conditions without adequate precautions, and avoids responsibility when problems arise. I strongly recommend hiring a licensed contractor who provides written contracts, follows proper procedures, and stands behind their work. This is not that contractor.

There were so many dents in the floor that I was sure it would never be smooth again--epoxy or no epoxy. Well, I guess I was proven wrong because these guys took their time to grind the floor, patch it, and then grind it again to make sure it was buttery smooth! They recommended sand for traction before putting the colored epoxy coating and that was a spot-on recommendation also (we don't want our customers slipping!). They offered a great color selection palette and recommended dark grey which I ended up liking as well. You can barely see the sand when the top color epoxy coat is applied so that was a plus. Before I hired them I got a quote from another company that was going to charge more and use an inferior method (acid etch instead of straight up grinding). Overall these guys are really professional and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Thanks a lot, we love our new floor!

He is one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever work with. He really went out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the whole process. His Forman Frankie and the entire crew were just as amazing--hardworking, respectful, and unbelievably skilled. Even when we had hiccups (which had nothing to do with their work), Marty and his team worked around our schedule without a single complaint. They delivered everything they promised and so much more. The finished project came out better than we ever dreamed, and I can honestly say we couldn't be happier. It's rare these days to find a company that cares this much about their customers, but Marty and his team truly do. We will 100% use MJD Construction again for future projects. If you're thinking of hiring someone, stop looking--this is the company you want. HIGHLY recommend!

There is no better compliment to a Craftsman than repeat business and referrals. I start here…read morebecause we recently brought MJD back in for our second job. We met Marty by a referral when looking to update the front of our home. Our original pavers were 40+ years old. We loved the unique shape and style but needed a refresh. From start to finish, Marty was punctual, communicated well, delivered beautiful stone work and offered very competitive pricing. We used a combination of bluestone, cobblestone, culturestone and Cambridge cobalt pavers. MJD nailed the half moon shape and retained the look we adored and even added a planters box to highlight tree we have out front. We loved it so much, fast forward one year later we brought back MJD for our back patio. Work included steppingstones, full "figure 8" pool coping and pavers including plumbing (which MJD coordinated), columns to our bar, and a planters box. MJD also took down two trees, graded and seeded to get us ready for next year. The results speak for them themselves. In short, give Marty a call, he does it all! Best, Myles

Vinny and Christian did an amazing job…read more Vinny is the owner and is an honest, hard-working, trustworthy man. As many of you have probably experienced in your home repairs there are lots of contractors that don't show up to the appointment they made or they try to sell you on services that you don't need and are unnecessary but a way for them to inflate the bill. You don't have to worry about that with Diamond Masonry! We are very happy to have found them. It was a true blessing. Rest assured that you can trust them to do the right thing.

They finished the job in two days and were fairly priced. It's been about a month and we haven't seen a leak yet despite all the snow and rain. If we do I will update. Give them a call. They didn't reflect the negative reviews I read on here. If you want the full details read on. Vinny came to our house and was very detailed in explaining what he thought the problem was and how he would fix it. He listened to my questions (I tend to have a lot) and didn't try to upsell us. I assumed the problem would need a French drain and more and he felt confident that we didn't need to go to that expense. He said he could do all of that but we would be fine with an exterior membrane. I met with two other waterproofers who pretty much said the same and Vinny was the middle quote -yet we still chose him because he was honest and down to earth. Also I liked that his sons do the work so I trust they will take care to do it right. They scheduled us pretty quickly and got to work right away at 7 am. Three of them hand dug a 25 ft x 9 ft trench over two days (originally was supposed to be one but they needed a second because of our collapsing soil). They sealed the foundation and took care to replace my window wells, put my Sprinkler lines back, and stack the pavers they had to remove. They were respectful to me and my neighbors and didn't mind me hawking over to see them work every once and a while. We were very pleased with their work would recommend them.
