After investing a significant amount of money into what was supposed to be an exciting backyard project for my son and me, I am left beyond disappointed with the workmanship, lack of accountability, and unfinished work by Ageless Masonry and the companies they chose to work with. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor. More than a year later, the job is still not completed, and getting any response from the owner has become nearly impossible. The grading and drainage were done improperly, leaving my yard filled with puddles after rain and even after normal splashing from the pool. Multiple parts of the project remain unfinished, including lighting and wiring that were paved over before the electrician could complete the installation. The outdoor kitchen was never properly finished, the grill does not function, and the sink was never installed at all. To make matters worse, the pool company they used, Sweeney's Pools -- another company I would never recommend, caused damage to my sewer line, which ultimately had to be repaired by my own personal plumber. Despite the damage and ongoing issues, no one involved was willing to take accountability, leaving me completely responsible for dealing with the aftermath myself. Recent attempts were made to contact Bob, the owner of Ageless Masonry, regarding these ongoing issues. One response was received initially, but after I clarified my availability for him to come assess the problems, there was no further communication. No follow-up, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. For a company that promotes itself as a local Wantagh business, this level of customer service is unacceptable. What should have been a beautiful addition to our home turned into over a year of aggravation, stress, and disappointment. It is extremely upsetting to feel taken advantage of after trusting a company to do the right thing. I would never recommend Ageless Masonry to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and look elsewhere. read more

Very unprofessional. I called them for a cleaning. They said they would call day of when they were on there way. They just showed up at 2pm. They did not perform the cleaning and said how "horrible" of a condition my chimney was in. Proceeded to give an outrageous quote to "fix". Extreme unprofessionalism throughout being in my home. So my liner was deteriorated and the bricks at the top of the chimney Was black with oil/soot. He made me a priority since I didn't have hot water/heat since the puff back from my boiler. We hired Ageless chimney because when it rained hard, water filtered through in the area below chimney in basement. Bobby from ageless, came to diagnose the issue . He said the chimney needed pointing. We hired them. Pointing was done. Pointing is resurfacing the cement area between bricks. When the next rain came, water still filtered through to the basement under chimney area. I called Bobby, since he is the contact whom we were in contact with from the onset. He said he was coming , didn't show up that day. The following day , he also didn't come. Them, he came on the third day. He said that he now realizes that they made an incorrect diagnosis as to where water was filtering through. Then ageless sent us an estimate to fix what they misdiagnosed originally. Since they had already done the pointing & we didn't expect them to fix their mistake without cost. My husband & I were willing to pay but ageless refused to negotiate the price. We called, texted, left a couple of messages, emaied. It had been weeks & don't expect to hear from them. In addition , they charged a fee for using credit card. When I questioned the fee, The woman on the phone who took payment said " WE Would Never Charge You a fee , I Wouldn't Do That To You It's The Credit Card Company Who Is Charging You" . That was lying & cheating the consumer. . Credit Card company charges the business a fee for using their service . Ageless chimney passes it on to the customers & that's wrong. I had used them in the past and thought they were reliable. I had them come to inspect my multiple chimneys and clean the liner for the wood burning stove. They said I needed to add a liner in my last remaining unlined chimney ($2500), inspected my other liners but would be unable to clean the liner for the wood burning stove. They said it was too dirty. They had installed it a few years ago and said it was guaranteed. They said they would come back to install the liner in the one chimney and bring a special device to clean the wood stove pipe for $500. They returned, installed the new liner but said they were unable to clean the pipe. The tech told me he would speak with the owner and the owner would call me. The next day I got a brush and rods and cleaned the pie the "professionals" were unable to clean. 1 month later and 4 calls by me, still no call from the owner. Extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. We were very excited to work with Ageless but once we signed the contract everything changed. Had to call multiple times for a start date, that then changed twice without notice. We were told the job would take 3 days, in all it took about 2 weeks+ because of constant no shows, no calls on days we were told they were coming. We constantly re-worked our schedule to be available to them for nothing. My husband basically took on a 2nd job having to call every day to see what was going on. In this time, the work done was amateur at best. The crew that was sent the Saturday of Labor Day weekend were awful. They did not fully demo the driveway apron curb and left it a mess. The concrete patio they poured has wavy edges and dips in the center where water now pools. They also damaged our fence by backing a dumpster into it (it was later mostly "fixed" but still shows signs of damage). Wet concrete was splashed everywhere and not cleaned (on our brand new pool, garage door, house) It was at this point that we raised a concern and started to complain. Tom showed up and completely agreed with everything that we pointed out admitting that the ball had been dropped on our job (his exact words) and taking responsibility. Later that day the owner, Bobby finally showed up (after no showing day 1 like he promised) He could basically care less, he never offered an apology, and basically blew off our concerns stating concrete work is never "perfect". (less than perfect is one thing, this was just bad -expensive- work) I even made a joke that if they were so proud of this work, to post pictures of it on his social sites, he hasn't....wonder why. We were told that the Driveway apron would be fixed - and it sort of was - with a cheap bag of concrete from Home Depot that is a different color and texture as the rest of the concrete used on the job. When his workers warned of this, Bobby was said to have not cared and instructed them to just get it done regardless. He took off $500. While we were waiting on Blacktop, we were advised by Sherwood that we should install a drain,in front of the garage. While we never had an issue with water pooling before he said he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't be an issue after their work and that it would cost less to install now than if we waited to see if it was an issue. We basically felt backed against a wall having already invested so much. The install took less than 2 hours to in, with the cheapest materials they could buy, we were charged 2k. We held back the last 1k of our balance with the agreement that it would be paid upon final walk through and satisfaction with the job. Once the driveway blacktop was installed and dried, we found that they had not pitched it correctly therefore none of the water leads to the drain, it's useless and water pools everywhere. In the first days after install a chunk has already come out of the driveway. We were to pay the workers the balance when they came back to install our gate, clean up the splashed concrete (they cleaned some, not all). We explained that we were unhappy with the work and would need one of the bosses to come back and address our concerns before we could pay them any more money. We wanted to give them the opportunity to fix things. Sherwood was scheduled to come back 6/28. No show, no call. We reached out one final time on 7/11 to follow up as we still hadn't heard from anyone. We were told Sherwood was out of the office that day and a message would be left. We have yet to hear back and don't expect to. It is clear that they have no interest in making this right and are done with us. I'd imagine they realize it will cost them more to correct their poorly executed work than what we owe them and are taking a "loss". That being said, we are currently deciding what our next step will be and if we will take legal action. We are thoroughly underwhelmed by our entire experience and would NEVER recommend this company. read more

From that first call to the completion of the job, the many 5 star reviews were right on -- so I'm adding one. Joe and his assistant arrived early and got right to work, quoting me a very fair price for a full sweep. Little did he know that he would find triple the amount of soot than generally encountered. Not only did they complete the job with no additional cost (I would have understood an upcharge for the amount of work), but Joe suggested we have the burner serviced as the amount of soot indicated to him a potential failing unit. They cleaned my chimney, fully lined it, laid a piece of blue stone 5' x 18" in the wood floor and installed a new wood burning stove Nick was the guy they sent to do all of it. A must hire. I have yet to see this level of commitment to achieve customer satisfaction and dedication to one's craft. I deliberately took over a year to write this because I wanted to make sure my issue was resolved. I had a leak around my chimney that was difficult to remedy and water was coming into my attic. Generally speaking, my chimney and flashing were in good condition according to several experts, and many couldn't understand why I was having leaks. A wide range of options were presented by different vendors as well as pricing. Ageless recommended repointing the chimney, so I agreed and the price was reasonable. After they finished the job, and after a hard rain, I saw that I was still having leaks. I called Ageless, and they came back to remedy the issue. About a month later, I was still having issues. I called Ageless again, and they came back a third time. Long story short, this project started in late 2017. These guys came back at least 5 times (no additional cost) over the course of 9 months and threw the kitchen sink at this (why a sink at a chimney? I don't know). They were fixing things that were out of original scope and around the chimney under pretense that water was traveling and entering my attic from unobservable areas. This additional work was at no additional cost as well and I approved all work. They even repointed the job a second time- no cost. All I know is that I met the entire team over the course of 9 months. All three gentlemen are cordial and knowledgable and committed to solving your problem. Not once was frustration directed at me. Unless they have zero overhead costs, I'd be surprised if they broke even on this job. I'm writing this because you want to see guys like this be successful. Hire them. read more

My trusted boiler guy informed us that our back chimney was blocked, resulting in the activation of the safety switch which produces shutdowns. Suffice to say we were lucky the safety switch was working. After being unsuccessful in contacting the individual he recommended, I asked for two estimates. Friends and experts admonished me that low prices could mean cheaper materials that can comprise more than benefit. With Ageless, I got the best of both business worlds in terms of price and quality. Ageless was better than punctual and Keith and Bob could not have been nicer or more professional. Their price was by far much better than the national average I researched. Further, I was assured stainless steel materials would be used. This pledge was left in writing and also is featured on their website. Without ever forcing me to make a decision with typical fearmongering or shady sales tactics, I was told they could do everything on the spot, exceeding my expectations. Given the weather was uncharacteristically warm, I confidently accepted the offer. Keith was very patient answering any questions I had. I am impressed by professionals who do not dismiss our concerns that may seem trivial to them. In the meantime and unbeknownst to me, Bobby began to speak to my mother who is a good judge of character. She was delighted to say the least. My father was the one who was home to let the gentleman in. As most other chimney companies we have dealt with in the past, they always insist that we need work that is thousands of dollars. We lost heat in our house on the record coldest day in New York (temperatures of -20F). After calling multiple vendors who all basically told us that we would have to stay in this cold for two more days until the stores opened on Monday, Bob from Ageless came in as an answer to out prayers! Him and his team got to work on the chimney (which vents the air from the boiler) immediately! He understood that we couldn't just stay in the house without heat and risk bursting the water pipes, put in a temporary chimney pipe and within few hours we had heat in our house!!
