Stasi brothers was well known within the Manhasset community so they were one of the shortlisted companies I got quotes for. I remember Sal coming over and recommending a landscape designer to see what was possible, this delayed the process but it was absolutely the right call. They were in the middle for pricing but sals local knowledge and no nonsense attitude were key factors for me. I got stacci confirmed and sal and his team got to work. The staff is top notch and did an amazing job, not just for the main driveway expansion job, but also with reconfiguring my steps (towards the top) to be wider and more welcoming (which I didn't even have specs for!). Sal is full of good ideas and executes beyond expectations, he has a critical eye and will have his guys redo it if he doesn't like it. I highly recommend Stasi and can see why others do as well. I want to continue my review of this business. After I had updated the review of the work that was done to my home Yesterday I noticed that the concrete the Stasi Brothers did, was cracked. I called and spoke to Erin and Kelly about the issue and they sent Sal to look at the crack. To my surprise all the nice things I said about Sal went out the window when he rudely said 'cant do anything, let me me know when it gets bigger'. Everything I googled on cracks in Cement state "if it's a headline crack it can be fixed easily and Not to wait till it gets larger" ...more or larger cracks are more difficult to repair" and more costly. I know that this was not the Sal I knew. He sounded more like his uncle Joe, arrogant and disrespectful. In the mean time Joe, do the right thing and let YOUR workers come and seal the crack. This is your fault. I told Sal when they poured the cement that the root of the tree needed to be cut out but you and your men said it didn't matter. I only redid the block of cement because they were lifting a little. The old cement was there for 30 years and had NO cracks. Just a little lift at seam. You are a business you need to take care of your customers. Btw sand that was put between nicklock pavers is still missing and you charged me over 11,000 for the work that has overspilled cement on pavers. I didn't even complain about that last October. If you want me to update this review I recommend that Joe tells Sal to fix this issue. ​ read more

After a bunch of price comparisons and research, we decided to go with Stasi Brothers. Sal made the process very easy. He came to provide estimate at the end of April and work was done literally the next weekend. We were expecting a longer wait of maybe 1-2 months during this pandemic. Everything was done within the same day (beside the filling of the sides which is a few days after). Sidewalk repaying is a very typical job but I had 2 other neighbors next to me that were also interested. This meant more juggling but it was very seamless when working with Sal. He is pretty honest with you about which part of the sidewalk that needs replacing and can tell the age by looking at it. I knew and ended up replacing my entire length of the sidewalk. One of my neighbors only replaced partial. We even had a neighbor who came later in the process who was interested and got her sidewalk and driveway repaved. There was a little incident with our sprinklers. They were careful but still nicked one of our sprinkler lines. If you have sprinklers running around the area where work will be done, make sure you let them know. We clamped the hole and now there is no more leak. Sal's team said they will be back to cover back the hole and cement the bricks that were taken out to uncover the leak. When we initially met with Sal, he was extremely knowledgeable when answering our questions and offering advice as we shared our ideas and vision. Stasi Brothers came highly recommended in the Port Washington area. I used them in 2021 to redo a side patio that was in need of repair. Sal came with meaningful options of how we could proceed with thoughts on appearance and costs. Once the weather thawed, he was quick to call and completed the work in one day, with small follow up. As a result, I repeated with Stasi to redo my driveway last fall. Needless to say, it was much of the same. The end product came out how I wanted and actually even better when I did some of the additional suggestions Sal gave me that I hadn't thought of. I had to pleasure to work with Sam Stasi, obviously one of the Stasi's hence the name of the business. Yes, family business if you didn't get that part haha. It's nice that you have quality and compassion for a big family business like this one. I had the sidewalk redone because we had some trees taken out by the town and unfortunately they went spray paint happy marking away throwing money signs in the air all over the place for us. Not to fret though I gave Stasi Brothers a call and they sent out Sam Stasi a handsome young gentlemen yet so knowledgeable and friendly! He understood our situation and had our sidewalk tore out, poured and cleaned up in a jiffy! If it wasn't for him we would deal with fines, tickets, and town court appearances! He did such a great we asked him to touch up our walkway, even though this wasn't part of the original job he added on and touched it up for us a little bit! That's customer service at its best folks! So with this kindness and skilled workmen ship we'll look forward to having him do our patio and driveway sooner than later... Update: It may be ironic but the very next day after writing this review the company desperately reached out to me through calls and texts. I needed this done before winter as the driveway we had was coming up so we did allow them the chance to do the work they promised. They kept their promise this time and showed up when they said they would rip it out the driveway, and replace it with a blacktop several days later. I wasn't asking for a difficult job, literally, anyone with the tools to do this could remove old asphalt and lay new blacktop, but it looks nice and they are respectful. read more

After reading all the positive reviews from yelp, we went with Stasi Brothers to build our outdoor BBQ kitchen. Initially, Sal was really good and helpful with following up on us before we decided to go with them. I should've paid attention to the only other critical review on here. Once we decided to move forward with him, I could not get a hold of him. He wouldn't answer numerous calls or texts and his voicemail was always full. There was a 2 week period where I called his office and spoke with his assistant and called and texted his cell everyday in order to get him to call me back. My electrician and the plumber all had to wait around for his schedule and when he finally calls you back with a date, it's usually last minute which made it very difficult to coordinate with the other contractors. If I hadn't filled out my village construction permit with him listed as the contractor, I would've definitely found a different contractor. When we finally got the work started, his crew showed up before him and asked what I wanted to build. There was no instruction or drawings or anything from Sal for his crew!! When he finally showed up 15 mins later, he asked for paper and pencil and sketched the layout of my kitchen. At this point, I am already skeptical at the details of the construction. We ran into a few hurdles due to lack of attention. For example, when we were picking out the sink, we didn't realize that it was too big for the island and made it a nightmare for the granite to be installed. They also tried to cut costs but using generic stone for legs on a granite table. At his point, I no longer have patience to deal or fix it with Sal. As the other reviewer stated, we also found beer bottles left by the construction crew and even a cigarette wedged in deep between the stones. From start to finish, it was a draining and painful process and took way longer than it should have. We hired Stasi Brothers around May, construction did not start until middle of August and ended in end of September. Sal himself seemed like a nice guy but they are probably too busy to pay attention to small customers like myself. I would not recommend Stasi Brothers and would not hire them again. We went with Stasi Brothers to add pavers around our pool and throughout our backyard. So glad we made this choice and we couldn't be happier with the quality of work and level of service provided. We worked with Sal, and he was a fantastic project manager/coordinator. He gave us great tips on where money was worth spending, presented us with multiple options and feedback/opinions based on his expertise, and also provided us with great recommendations for colleagues/companies that they partner with for fencing and landscaping. Sal also gave us great advice about waiting for the ground to settle after we had the pool installed in order to avoid having uneven pavers and additional work at a later date. Very happy he advised us of this and convinced us to be patient. He was 100% correct in his advice and we're thankful for the direction provided. Just FYI, you should know a few things about me: I am cynical, beyond demanding, spoiled, a major pain in the butt, and have beyond high expectations. Onto my review... Our job was finished yesterday, so I'm only going by one day's time. I'll update if need be. We had our driveway, walkway, curb, and front stairs redone with pavers and now I salivate whenever I think about how it came out. There were a few little hiccups but Sal remedied them pretty much immediately. Demo was sooo cool!!! I watched (we have cameras) and was in amazement! ZERO jack hammering! Woo-hoo!!! Instead of getting a massive headache from that, they have this cool vehicle that picked up the concrete! I have NEVER seen something like that before and it was AWESOME! It also saved a HUGE amount of time. This time of month I try to avoid people because I'm even worse than usual and in pain, so I stayed in the house. My husband spoke to the workers and said they were very nice. Every once in a while I would check the cameras to see how things were going and at one point there was a design issue but I think I caught it pretty quickly and it was remedied right there and then. :D Sorry guys! Anyway, Victor and the guys worked very quickly but thoroughly. I am RARELY impressed but I am not only impressed by how strong the guys are but what an incredible job they did. The cuts were impeccable. We had a little issue with being able to lock the garage door because the pavers are higher than the old driveway. The guys fixed the situation. My garage locks again! Woo-hoo! Our old stoop's steps were a bit high, but the new ones are lower and so much better. I just can't wait for the rails to be put in. See, one has to wait about a month to put railings after the pavers are installed, "so if you don't know, now you know.". Unfortunately, I had to go to the doctor looooooong before I usually wake up (9am appointment? Really, lady? That is NOT the afternoon!) so I went and tried out the new pavers. Ahhh... MUCH better! Much, MUCH better than the broken, slanty concrete! The job now puts pretty much the rest of the front to shame. We're going to have to get some sod or something for the bare areas (we changed the walkway location). Also, another thing that was nice, Sal gave us the estimate when he came here. No waiting! Just had an asphalt driveway done by them. Definitely satisfied with the work that was done. Also I did like they put down a deeper gravel based than a few other companies I called. In addition, they also don't finish the work in one day - they allow the base to settle first which is important to ensure your driveway doesn't sag/crack in places. As far as the final product they did an excellent job. Communication at the start could be a touch better, but I found them to be very responsive on facebook which was great after dealing with calls not being returned multiple times. The driveway looks great after a year but this year I noticed some weeds were growing through the asphalt. Somehow made its way through the base and everything... Welp they are here now to fix it. Our home looks beautiful!!! everyone stops to admire the workmanship and to ask who did the work. The workers had great attention to detail, hard working and extremely polite. I have worked with many service providers since I've owned my home and I can say that Stasi Brothers is definitely top notch. Stasi brothers completed a patio paver extension, patio and a long walkway linking the two areas on my property. The team worked efficiently, truly as good as it gets. When they were almost done, my husband and I noticed one area had a bit of a sharp corner and we worried our son would crack his head on it....the team didn't hesitate to address our concerns immediately and rounded the corner and another to ensure symmetry. There was a misunderstanding about the start date which lead to damage to one of my garden beds but Chris Stasi (the owner) proved to be a man of his word and had the flower bed completely replanted and added plants to my other bed so that they would match. He ensured that I was completely happy with the job and was always responsive, even providing his personal cell phone. Texts were always immediately returned. I am thrilled with my new yard and neighbors have come over to compliment the work, I can't recommend Stasi enough. Stasi did an amazing job with my stoop, driveway and sidewalk. Their price was dead on and reasonable. The work that was done was beautiful and the head mason worked very well with me to make my vision real. I asked to make an area just a little bigger and they had no problem making the adjustment. The job was started and finished within a weeks time (others estimated 2-3 weeks at the least) so I wasn't inconvenienced for too long. I even changed my mind about some of the stone I picked after they delivered it and there was no problem changing it out. The only reason why I am not giving a 5 star is because I hired them in April and they didn't do the work until August. I know they didn't forget about me but they do have a lot of work. I really felt it was worth the wait. Just call monthly to see where you are in their que. I am beyond pleased with my result. I love that people stop all the time to admire the work. Stasi Brothers' Masonry might do good work, but my wife and I never got a chance to find out because they kept moving the start date for work at my Plainview home so often it was apparent our residential project was not a priority. April 1- Sal Stasi came to our home and provided a written estimate for replacing an asphalt driveway, installing a new curb cut and creating a new side entrance stone stoop. Sal said he would put us on the schedule and the job would be done in "three weeks or so." April 11 - Felt confident in Stasi and met again with Sal to say we also wanted them to install a new stone stoop for our main entrance, along with a new walkway. Sal said homeowners often ask for additional items to be done. The job was now for two new stoops, a new walkway, a new curb cut and a new driveway. April 24 - Visited the Stasi office in Westbury and confirmed with Sal the exact style and color of the stone lining the driveway and covering the stoops and walkway. Sal said he would call us "next week." No call. May 9 or 10 - We telephoned Sal and asked him to stopped by our home to reconfirm all the details of the project and give us a start date. He stopped by and said it would be a "few weeks." No news from Stasi for the rest of May and first two weeks of June. June 17 - Called Stasi Brothers. Sal said the job would be done, starting "next Monday" (June 24). June 24 came and went. Nothing. Nothing that whole week. July 9 - Sal Stasi told my daughter the work on my home would be done "next week." "Next week" came and went with no work started. July 19 - Lisa from Stasi called and said the work would be done "next week." July 24 - Sal Stasi called and said the job would begin the following day. I informed him that I had lost all confidence in his company and would not be doing business with them because they had kept promising start dates and never followed through. I was told on April 1 that the job would be done in "three weeks or so." Now it was July. They apparently were not interested in a small residential project. I asked Sal that if he was following a policy of jobs being completed in the order they were booked he must have been working on jobs all this time that had been booked before my April date. He admitted he was not. That means jobs booked in May and June were being completed, while my April booking was still being pushed back with false promises of start dates that never came to pass. He offered a discount to do the job, but I told him I didn't need a discount, I needed a company that would do a job when they promised. read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with. Sam Stasi the owner of the company thinks he knows best. We had a simple job and if they followed what the contract said there would have been no issue. Sam took it upon himself to tell his workers to remove part of our existing walkway, which was not part of the job. When asked to put it back just as it was seemed to be an issue. They never came when the said but received plenty of messages they would be coming. They would come at random times with no notice and always different people, absolutely no consistency. The quality of work is the worst we have ever seen. They accidentally dug up our sprinkler heads and without saying anything sent someone to replace heads but never put them in the ground. We needed to hire a sprinkler company to do it properly. We have never been so frustrated with a company. It looks as though the work was done by inexperienced people. read more

Stay away like the plague. They did my driveway a few years ago, including Belgium block borders. When the snow melted this Spring I realized the mortar used to set the blocks was dissolving! Problem was improper mix (insufficient Portland cement). OK, so mistakes happen & you'd think they would stand behind their work & make it right? Nope. Both Sal & Joe refused. They used lame excuses that my driveway was on a hill, or the bad Winter was the problem. I paid $9000 a few years ago & now it will cost another $1500 to reset the block. They could care less about the little guy, as long as the $$ keeps rolling in from their municipal contracts. Sal, 1) You did the job 3 years ago, not 5. 2)There's never been a snow plow on my driveway, I have a blower & do it myself. 3) If the hill's the problem, why are all the original block footings, that are 25 years old & also on the hill, in perfect shape? 4) Your footings are also dissolving where there's no hill. 5) I've been in business for over 40 years. When my employees screw up or materials fail, I redo the job at MY expense. If you really cared about your customers, you would do the same. read more

I'm the type of person who will put in the time and energy to do extensive research to choose the correct business to fulfill my needs because I am, sadly, a perfectionist. In doing my research, I want to know what I'm expecting, and seeing how many times, the construction and contracting business is either a hit or miss with certain clients, I WASN'T looking for contractors who were perfect. If in fact they were perfect that would actually set off alarms in my head that the reviews were fake. I look for contractors that were not necessarily perfect, but ones with cons that I can overlook. It was the case when my parents and I decided to redo the driveway, stoop, and backyard flooring in the summer of 2015. A neighbor a few blocks down from me had their own driveway and backyard completed by the Stasi brothers years back and it still looked great. So, I embarked on my own research and found their helpful website and many reviews. Most of them said that the biggest con was the fact that Stasi was not timely. Noted. The good cons were more extensive - great quality, price was not inflated, and quick to finish. Noted. We decided to go with Stasi Brothers and got into contact with Chris (Stasi). We had gone over the pricing, detailing, and deadline. In regards to the pricing, it in the ballpark that I had prepared to pay. It was comparable to other competitors in my area and I felt that the company had more design choices to choose from. My family and I aren't exactly the most well versed in construction/design terms to help us fully explain what we were looking for, but this is where the 5 star review is most deserved. Chris was extremely helpful and spent the extra time trying to explain what the combination of colors would look like for our driveway and backyard with the coloring of our brick and roof. He would personally text and call us to make sure we knew what we were choosing and delivered us samples and send us pictures of previous projects his business had completed. Yes, this is the type of service and help that is helpful to my parents that are perfectionists like me and also extremely picky and hard to satisfy. If I can overlook their flaws, they can overlook ours too, and help us, from one human to another. Their timing was not exactly the best, BUT once we explained to them that our deadline was in place and urgent, they met it. Plus, we had this done in the summer time, a time that is uber popular for construction to be done. Overall, it's best to choose Stasi for their quality and to explain to them what you need and when you need it. Be verbal about your needs, but you should also be willing to compromise too as they are a very popular business with a lot of estimates and construction to be done. Stasi Brothers is one of the most unreliable companies I have ever dealt with. In Sept. 2018 we agreed that they would re-grout my entire front walkway and that work would start in six weeks. The town of Hempstead N.Y. contracted Stasi Bros. to fix 6 cement sidewalk sections in front of my house. They never once called me to let me know when they were going to start the construction. Once they started they cut my sprinkler line. When i asked the workers about it they told me it would be fixed by the time they finished and not to worry about it. When they finished the construction they never reattached the sprinkler line, they also nailed the sprinkler hose to the tree and put a gash in the hose. I called the business and spoke with Jason Dellaratta who told me its not their responsibility to fix the sprinkler line. He stated he would see what he could do and he would call me back. I never received a return phone call. Due to the weather getting warm i had to repair the hose and get the parts to reattach the sprinkler line myself. In additon to cutting the sprinkler line and damaging the hose they broke branches on my trees, splattered cement on my white fence that they never cleaned off and one of the cement spots were never smoothed out and looks horrible. They also tore up some grass on my property and put down such little grass seed to replace it that it washed away with the rain. I have photos proving all of this. I guess this is what happenes when you have work done by the lowest possible bidder. read more

Sal and his team from Stasi Brothers did an awesome with my front walkway and flower beds. We were replacing the old structure and were sort of in a pickle when another contractor bailed out on us. I called Stasi since I saw their signs at neighborhood homes. From the beginning to the end Stasi gave me a completely professional experience. Sal came in very next day after I called their office to give me a written estimate. The prices that he gave were reasonable and i did get a few quotes before chosing Stasi. My decision to go with Stasi was based on their professionalism which they continued to demonstrate throughout the work. The Sal and the head mason were always ready to listen and they were able to accomodate various customizations that I asked for. Once the job was complete, it really transformed the looks of my home.
