Two months later the leak returned, this has always been in my mind a design error by the builder. I don't blame Jim for the leak, but it became worse after an attempted repair on his part. Haus came back to do new repairs and found two issues in the same area of the roof. The man was on my roof doing repairs in lightning and rain, crazy! The heavy rain that day stayed out of the attic, I need more time with storms to test the repair. My complaint is that Haus isn't the best at having a timely response via text or calls but he can be trusted. I've used him for many years.

There was a storm that came on 3/15/2024 that required an insurance adjuster/advisor to do an assessment for potential damage. The adjuster informed us that they are severe issues with this roof installation and it is causing wet decking from pipe boot leaks, there was no starter strip installed, there is 2 different types of roof vents installed. In some of the overpayment of the shingles was done incorrectly causing algae and moisture build up. This was devastating news. When I called and messages Haus Roofing I didn't hear back for about a week. Then a man named John Land called me back and laughed on the phone at me and told me this is the homeowner insurances' problem. "If ANYONE goes on my roof it is no longer covered on the warranty. Which is not correct in the contract it states if another company does work on the roof the warranty is void. We have made multiple more calls and left multiple messages for Jimmy Haus but he refuses to call us and to honor our warranty.

I used Yelp's Request A Quote to find a roofer/contractor. And considering our leak happened on a Sunday night, that's when I reached out to several companies. Many got back to me within the hour, including River City Vinyl Supply & Roofing. And if it weren't for a rainstorm on Monday, he would have come out that day. But he was able to come and look at the problem and have it fixed within an hour or so on Tuesday. John was speedy yet not pushy. He brought with him one of his employees, who actually got on our very tall roof to look at the problem. He talked through what he found with me and sent me a formal quote before proceeding. Turns out the flashing had pulled away from the chimney, and the mortar between several of the bricks had worn away. He showed me some photos of the roof to help me understand. After he was done, I was able to pay him easily via PayPal. And now we're talking to him about tackling our rickety, falling apart gutters as well. DAR Construction LLC hired roofer to install new roof and was incompetent in supervision and quality control of work. I advised DAR Construction to ensure all bad wood was replaced and to make sure roof was satisfactory before final payment was made to subcontractor. They stated roof looked great and they were thoroughly satisfied. I looked at roof myself after DAR had already made payment to subcontractor, and informed them that the roof was unacceptable in multiple areas and was very disappointed. DAR Construction LLC stated the roofing contractor came back out to house to fix roof, but after I went back to review work completed the roof was still in the exact same condition as was originally after they replaced. After continually requesting needed action to take place, was told I could meet with subcontractor. Asked what time I could meet with them and was never received any response. At this time, I have no faith in DAR Construction or VIP Roofing and Remodeling LLC to replace roof in satisfactory condition. I am requesting a full refund of $7,200 given to DAR Construction for roof replacement. My request for refund of roof payment from DAR Construction is a reflection of their poor performance and management of roofing subcontractor (VIP Roofing and Remodeling LLC) under their supervision. Okay, I waited a while to write my review so I could see how the overall job bettered my home. I…read morehad my 102 year old 2 story home completely resided with Vinyl siding. Fist, this was no small project. The owner and project manager at times could be a little slow with responding to calls/text, but were very respectful when the did return my call. Siding is no easy task as you have to account for weather, but they cannot work during rain. So the project got started a couple of weeks late, but that worked out okay for me. It was 2020 and I wasn't going anywhere fast. The crew that worked on my home were timely and professional. If they couldn't answer a question, I would contact the owner Traci directly and he would give me an answer. They warned me that there could be serious problems that could add to the time of the project completion and cost. Well, we had issues, but they were brought to my attention and documented in writing along with pictures. Lets just say, I want the siding to be done right and look great so we had a few others concerns fixed by cervices as well (wood, window trims). The project took around 5-6 weeks, but it was well worth it. All new siding and after this past winter with snow, rain, and everything, it seems to be doing just fine. A few places in our cellar are now dried up where some water got in before. People comment on how great it looks. We had all new gutters and downspouts installed as well, which drain perfectly. On a side note we asked the crew to throw up a new light fixture and mailbox when they took down the old and they did so.
