Wow! What a Beautiful place. Smallest little Argentinian Grill Hole in the Wall! Let me start by saying how relaxing it felt as soon as I entered the place. We sort of accidentally walked into this place. We were all hungry and looking for a good restaurant that was close to our happy hour destination. All of us are huge fans of steak so we were excited to be there. When we got there all the tables were full, so we sat outside. It felt like a very intimate and quiet setting. We received a complimentary basket of tiny bread knots and some aioli dip which was amazing. We ordered some Empanadas immediately in hopes to be a little satiated before our food arrived. The empanadas were small in size and arrived with a chimichurri sauce. The empanadas were good, seemed super fresh. We then ordered our steaks. I got a Skirt Steak and someone else ordered a Flank Steak. It was really nice that the restaurant let's you change your sides for free. We got the papas con huevos and the corn on the side. The food took around 45 minutes to come out. The corn was very bland and despite adding salt, it was decent. The papas con huevos looked like a potato egg salad, which went surprisingly well with our steak. The steak itself was cooked well and tasted pretty good. I don't think I'd willingly come back to this restaurant to try the same steak, but it was a good experience and if I came back, I'd try something different. read more

Lo de lea, lo de leeeee, lo de Lea he whoooooo!!! Another neighborhood spot that has me singing along, lo de lea specializes in Argentinian food, so of course I expected lots of meat. But I was pleasantly surprised to find some really delicious menu items that had been treated with just as much care as the beef. It's not easy to find a restaurant that satisfies my hubby's love of animal flesh and my desire for delicately balanced deliciousness, but they've done it. We ordered take out once (yes, take out!) and were so impressed that we returned for a dine-in dinner. The ambiance is so romantic! It's charming, small, and quiet with private parking. Grilled bok choy was fresh and cooked perfectly, grilled cheese appetizer hit the salty spot, and fish was pleasantly not overcooked and seasoned lightly. Hubby loved his steak and was thrilled with the multiple chimmichuri choices. Wine was just fine to top it all off, with plenty of choices at multiple price points. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The only snafu was a lengthy delay between two of our courses, but this was certainly forgivable. I actually came across this place through Yelp search under Romantic Dinners. For a first date I wanted a nice place, not over the top, but still intimate and memorable. The day of the reservation I called around 12:00 p.m. to inquire as to whether they would allow a bottle of wine to be brought in / allow a corkage fee - the lady likes her Pinot Blanc if I may- The gentleman who answered the phone replied with "Call back at 4:30"....but I only waaan..."Call back at 4:30"...Caa..."Call...back...at 4:30" :? - I guess I'm calling back at 4:30...at that point I didn't want to find out what happened when I called back at 4:30. I'll be fine with the wines they have in house anyways. Date Night finally arrives and we go into parking mode. The lot is a bit small and gets pretty wet / soggy / pool-like (Not quite ocean-esque), be mindful of your dates footwear or drop the lady off while parking to avoid having to swim to the front door. We opened the door to what sounded like a rock concert of culinary proportions. Very loud, cramped, small tables - Like a miniature cafe, where everything is miniature. Solid Argentinian restaurant, disclaimer, I am not an Argentine. Over the years I have been to this place a few times and every time they perform well. They are consistent with their food, service, price, and ambiance. Vacío, arguably my go to Argentine cut. This place has a nice size vacío for $19, not a bad deal if you ask me. It comes with two sides which i think changes from time to time. Churrasco is also on point. Consistency is this restaurant forte! No hit or miss here. Provoleta is awesome and always a great appetizer. It comes with a slice of tomato seasoned with black pepper and I think dry rosemary, but I could be wrong. I do not do murcia, aka blood sausage and I am not going to tell you I've tried theirs. However, those I have been with at this place have loved it. So go for it if that's your thing. There is a nice selection of wine by the bottle and by the glass. Dessert seems like a nice touch everyone around me seemed to enjoy it, i don't care for sweets so I'll hold my opinion. Service is attentive as the location is small and quaint. Parties of 6 will feel like they took over the place. Party of 8?! Might as well invite a few more people and cater the place. This place is a solid parrillada in the heart of MIMO. To quote the lovely Melissa L, who is a friend, "Lo de Lea... is everything an Argentine parrillada should be. The place is quaint, unassuming, with possibly the friendliest staff I've ever encountered in this city." The place is very good. Moreover, the parrillada for 2 is possibly the best value in the city. For about $28 you get a mixture of grilled meats that can easily feed four people. The parrillada comes out in two waves. The first wave is a huge plate of grilled sausages. The second wave has beef (churrasco, short ribs), grilled chicken, sweet breads, etc. All served with potatoes. It's a tremendous value. The place usually has a good selection of affordable Argentine wines. This is a fun place for strapping on the old feed bag. read more

We went to Lo de Lea last night because Blue Collar was too crowded. It's very small and intimate. At around 6:30 PM we were the only customers there, although another couple came an hour into our visit. Service was brisk and efficient. We were first given complimentary mini bread rolls with a creamy garlicky dipping sauce, they were fresh and hot. There was oil and vinegar on the table to dip them in as well. I started out with the lentil vegetable soup, a thin, tasty broth full of diced vegetables and potatoes and topped with a few shavings of melted cheese. It was very good. For mains we both had the entrana, I had my dish with roasted asparagus and sauteed escarole, hubby had his with mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes and roasted red peppers. The steaks were tasty and cooked to perfection. I like mine done medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection, nice and juicy. The chimichurri sauce it came with was absolutely delicious, fresh and bright. There are some interesting traditional options on the menu including sweetbread appetizers and blood sausage and some Argentinean desserts. We will be back. read more

Move over Graziano's, there's a new kid in town. Lo de Lea (once an Italian place that had the best bread pudding in the universe, le sigh), is everything an Argentine parrillada should be. The place is quaint, unassuming, with possibly the friendliest staff I've ever encountered in this city. Portions are ample: my boyfriend's savory entrana steak was the size of his forearm, no joke. I don't joke. Not about steak...and forearms. The side of corn on the cob was probably the size of my forearm. Also, SHOCKER OF THE NIGHT: I actually enjoyed the sweetbreads (embarrassingly enough, I have spit out a few in my time). They were seasoned and grilled to perfection, along with the blood sausage, chorizo, and tripe (I did not touch, boyf did and loved). I had a burger with sweet potato fries, and my friend had the filet mignon which came with rosemary potatoes and roasted veggies, and everything was so tasty. I love this place. Such a cozy, cute place to go with a date, and if you run out of conversation, you can always grab the crayons on your table and start coloring together!! Yes, I'm weird... I know. Now, to the food.. I've dined here twice, and I can't seem to get anything other than the skirt steak. It's just so yummy! And the cheesy bread they serve is reallllly good, especially with the garlic, dipping sauce. I love that there's free parking, and I don't have to battle the crazy downtown traffic just to eat at a nice place. It's not in the nicest of neighborhoods and can easily be missed, but trust me -- find it, and eat there! You will not be disappointed. read more

Since we never had Argentinian food before we ordered the mixed grill for two and it was as good as everyone else said on Yelp. You get huge portions of sausage, chicken, steak, and ribs all grilled to perfection. (they have a very specific menu that specifies rare, medium rare, medium, and the like...) Lo De Lea Argentinean Grill is an extreme small stand alone restaurant on the corner of Biscayne Blvd and NE 70th Street with its own small lot (I love convenience). We caught them right after opening (they open at 4pm) so we were the only customers there, but considering the small size of the restaurant, I am glad we came at this time, for a more personal and comfortable dining experience. Our server who may have been the chef and/or owner wasn't too friendly but when we had questions, he answered them with no problems. After placing our order, we were brought bread with ali-oli; what a great introduction of what was to come! Yes, I know this is an Argentinean restaurant and meat should probably be your first and only choice but I was just drawn to the Salmon Fresco. I started to second guess my choice and think maybe I should have just ordered a steak, but once my food came, boy was I glad with my choice. Putting all steaks asides, the grilling of this salmon was perfect. It was crispy on the edges, fully cooked but still moist as ever on the inside; probably one of the best cooked salmon dishes I have ever had. It was served with rosemary roasted potatoes which was also really good and also perfectly roasted. My friend got the Bife De Chorizo and really loved it (like really really loved it) and espically loved the chimmicurri sauce it came with (we both put it on our potatoes). read more

I really wanted to like this place, it was the last stop on my 4 day tour of Miami restaurants on vacation. The Lomo a la Parrilla medallions were tough; hard to saw through with a steak knife tough; hard to chew tough. The Roquefort was meh and The potatoes honestly had the consistency of instant mashed potatoes. The atmosphere was great, service fine, the vegetables were delicious, best part of the meal. I was just super disappointed that my $33 meal had such tough meat and average mashed potatoes. Maybe my experience was just a fluke, a lot of people seem to like the place and it's been around a long time. Just on Monday, my coworker told me that Argentineans make the best steaks. My partner and I came to visit Miami for MMW just two days after. Low and behold, Lo de Lea was walking distance from our Airbnb. An excellent opportunity to check the validity of my coworker's claim while still fresh on my mind. She was definitely right. That steak was cooked to perfection, covered in my favorite sauce ever (Roquefort Sauce), great sides, and great portion size. My partner got the empanada as an appetizer and said it was amazing. Reasonably priced for steaks in a city like Miami. Very flexible menu with choices of sides. Was a lovely evening and was exactly what we were looking for. Really good Argentinean Food for a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and the food was great. I first had the empanada appetizer and it consisted of three different style empanadas (1 regular, 1 spicy, 1 sweet), they were amazing (very fresh and the dough was perfect). For our main course my boyfriend and I had a parrillada, and it was delicious. They brought out the smaller cuts first (blood sausage, Argentinean sausage, etc...) and then the churrasco and ribs. Everything was cooked nicely and the sides were fresh (roasted potatoes, small side salad and sautéed broccoli). Overall the experience was great. We were in the mood for an Argentinean parrillada and got exactly what we wanted. We will definently be back to try more of the menu out. read more

Came for dinner for a birthday. The waitress was warm, friendly and very attentive. We ordered the Provoleta for appetizer... Delish! Ordered the Entrana and my bf ordered the Vacio. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and the chimmichurri was fresh and very tasty! Prices were great too. Both were under & $20 each. For dessert you must order the crepes with dulce de leche, heaven! The only thing I didn't love were the sides but they weren't bad just not as good as everything else. And the cortadito wasn't good for my taste, kinda watery, but maybe that's the cuban in me.. This is a classic "Argentinean parrillada" with a great meat selection at OK prices. The place is really small so it's not a great idea for large groups. Service is good, especially if the owner (Lea) takes care of you. Wine selection is fine and reasonable prices in some ones. I stopped by this place for a light dinner later on Sunday night because it was a few blocks away from my motel. I didn't know what to expect for Argentinian food, but I read the menu on Yelp and saw that it had some salad/vegetable options so I decided to go. I had a great experience! We just ordered the Ensalada Interesante ('Interesting' salad), with arugula & cherry tomatoes. The pecorino cheese was good, although I wished there had been a little less cheese and a little more veggies - maybe shaved radish or something. The red wine balsamic was on point. We also got a side of grilled bok choy with soy sauce. It was very tasty. They may need to soak the bok choy though because there was some grainy stuff left in it. I guess the highlight was the empanadas. I'm not an empanadas connoisseur but it was one of the best I've had. The dough was really different. They looked lie they could've been dry but they were really good. The pretzel bread they served at the beginning was also delicious. Our waiter was delightful! Everything was enjoyable until I asked for a side of spice for my steak. The server said there would be a charge. As it's a simple condiment, I was a little surprised but said sure why not. He brought me about 1 tbs of 'the spice' which wasn't really spicy at all but all good. Then we got the bill with a $5 extra charge for that extra little side of spice. Why? I would be embarrassed to charge my customer that if I owned this place and expected someone to come back after the first visit. I'm already spending money on food, wine, and dessert. My partner and I have never dined in, but we have ordered delivery a few times. The portions are huge, the quality is great, and the delivery order arrives promptly. I mean, also, Lo De Lea delivers, which in itself is awesome. The mixed grill for 2 is a really good deal. I was astonished by how much food it was. Honestly, you'd spent at least $25 buying the same quantity of meat at Publix. My only small criticisms are the following: 1. Lo De Lea messed up our order last night and brought us 2 steak entrees instead of one. This is fine, and not in any way a dealbreaker. However, I'll use this opportunity to broadcast a reminder to ourselves/ other Yelpers to review your delivery order every time. I'm not motivated enough to complain about a delivery order once I've received it, which means I should remember to order carefully on the front end. 2. Grilled bok choi was sandy. I understand that in order to grill bok choi, it makes sense to cut the head in half and grill it as a single piece, but this method precludes a thorough rinsing. I don't really have a proposed solution or anything though. Overall I really like the food that Lo De Lea brings to my house, and I will continue to order from them. read more
