I guess you get what you pay for... LoadUp's business model is AI-led. You won't have someone come and survey your space. It's all done online. They work through independent thrird-party movers and only operate as a middleman. I questioned the first price that they gave me, as this was much, much lower than all the other quotes I got. I contacted customer service, asked them to review the price and sent all photos of the items to be removed. The revised quote came back and was about 20% higher. This was the first red flag. I had to make payment online at the time of scheduling. If I wanted to re-schedule - at any time in the process - I had to forfeit 50% of the payment. Second red flag. The online instructions said that I would start receiving texts the night before to confirm. These never arrived. When the movers did arrive, they were great. Got everything packed up in under an hour. They asked about a piece of furniture that was not provided in the list they were given; I showed them the photo I sent to LoadUp, and their acknowledgement, naming "the brown chair by the window". LoadUp called me when the movers had packed everything into their truck, and said they would have to refer me to their pricing manager, as their systems did not properly price my items. They acknowledged that my photos did include the item in question, but that there was a "pricing error" on their side. Oh, and oops, it looks like we also forgot to charge you for removing the bookcase. I politely explained that I'm sorry an error was made, but that is not my issue. I agreed to a 'guaranteed price', and we cannot re-negotiate pricing when the truck is waiting to drive away. I was put on hold, when the call eventually dropped. They never tried to call me back. I ended up negotiating with the movers directly. LoadUp tried to increase the charge, and ended up costing me more than a standard local mover/junk hauler would have charged. LoadUp claims to be disrupting the junk hauling industry. I would not dispute that claim, but they are disrupting in all the wrong ways. I should have trusted my gut on this. I will never use LoadUp again, and will be telling everyone I know about this. read more

My job was scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, to clear out some furniture and an elliptical, but Nana didn't arrive until almost 9pm. Worse, he kept saying he was on his way, all afternoon, but he would never actually come. This happened at 5 and 6 and 7pm. But then, when he arrived, he said he forgot to take his tools out of his regular truck and put in his rental truck, so he wasn't able to dispose of the elliptical which in all honesty was why we called in the first place. Nana said he'd come back the next day Monday at noon with the tools to get the elliptical. Then on Monday, Nana did not show up at noon to get the elliptical. I called him and he said he was on his way. He repeatedly said he was only 30 minutes away and I have the text messages. By 3pm he still hadn't shown up and because my mom is taking care of my elderly father at a nursing home and couldn't be home at that time, I asked if he could come at 7pm. He said yes. He didn't arrive until 9pm to get the elliptical. When he arrived at 9pm he didn't have his partner. He said he wasn't able to get his partner to help. Worse, he asked my 67 year old mother to help him lift the elliptical to take it out!! None of this is acceptable and I have the text messages that prove this happened. I contacted the company and they offered 25%. This was an emergency hauler because my father is coming home from rehab soon. I had a good experience with LoadUp. I used them to remove a queen mattress that became too soft and was sinking in the middle. They gave good updates and let you track where the driver is. It said they would arrive between 8-9am and they arrived in that window. The driver called when they were en route and about 30 min out. I appreciate that they were on time since a lot of pick up places have these long pickup time frames and I don't want to have to wait around all day. This was cheaper than the other option I looked at. It cost around $125. The other quote I got from a different place was around $185. I left a $25 tip. I had a new platform bed delivered yesterday and found Load Up on a Google search. I did NOT want to go through a company that sends your job to a bunch of other companies and then be called, texted, and bothered for weeks. I called the direct line and described what I wanted removed, then I realized LOAD UP also does assembly. I was urinalysis going to gather guy friends to do the job bc my old platform and headboard were super heavy. I was given the removal price in no more than a minute, literally, so when I saw "assembly" on Load Up's website I asked for a quote to both remove and assemble. It was $174. Very reasonable to not bother friends and to haul away the old and new wrapping w box. I booked the job for the very next day. I was VERY HAPPY AND SATISFIED with the job. The guys were super nice and did not cut corners. I was glad to see I could leave a re new bc this team deserved it. (Fyi, you need to pay (credit card) when you book the job. Anyhow, I would absolutely reach out to Load Up again if a situation arises. I give it a 3 because the driver showed up by himself- even though he was supposed to have a partner. My husband had to help him get a very large piece of furniture out of the house and down the stairs. I called to complain and was offered a 25 percent discount, which I accepted. I also want a tax deductible donation receipt for the furniture which the driver said he couldn't give to me because he couldn't get my contact information and I couldn't get his. So I asked him to send the donation receipt directly to Load Up and have them send me a picture of it. I've had to use this company several times now in my never ending quest to find a mattress that doesn't suck. They have mostly convenient time frames to choose from. 8am-noon noon-4pm 4pm-8pm. I will say though that they have a nasty habit of trying to get me to change my time frame/day. For example they picked from me on Valentine's day and wanted to switch to the day before. Someone texted me and I said that's fine but give me a time. They didn't. So the next day I left and I kid you not right after I drive away someone gets back to me. They were then irritated with me I said no because I wasn't home. Today they were supposed to be here at noon to 4pm and they messaged me to say they couldn't find someone to show up until 4pm to 8pm. It worked out as the person showed up just before 4pm, but if you had a job or something this might not work for you. Overall I'm happy with them and they told me they donate the mattresses to charity instead of resell them like other pickup companies do. When the time of their arrival came and went, they said they couldn't get anyone out to my area.
