This is without a doubt the most significant review I've ever left for a local business. After a car accident, my insurance referred me to Lobalbo's business for repairs. As a first time customer I was reliant on the advice of my insurer to lead me into the trusting hands of the seldom found honest auto repair specialist. Well, I finally found one: Lobalbo Brothers in Stamford. I walked in with a humble vehicle that needed a little attention and walked out with a million dollar roadster (or at least I think so) at no extra cost to me. These gentlemen went out of their way numerous times, during the one week stay that my car was in their care, to assure that I would be wowed. And I was!!! I asked for absolutely nothing and they gave me everything!! Lobalbo Brothers deserve your attention and your car deserves theirs. I am extremely happy for their thoughtful and kind services and for their generosity towards my car. One of the worst experience dealing with any body shop or garage! Decided to go there as they as one of the Xpress shops for Geico! Got an estimate of 5 days and was given the car back after 15 days with no communication. Had to call them up 10 times a day to get any kind of response! Frank the guy I dealt with is a complete liar! Even after picking up the car the only reason given for a 300% delay on giving the car back was it took extra days to get the door in which had to replaced! Which was absolute bull***t!! Would absolutely warn against going to this place!!! To reply to their comment their my issue was this attitude and the the blunt lie that you guys gave me when I called up not the extra time! I have a Benz and replaced the back door on the passenger side. They took more days than said and told me they will not charge me the extra rental days but they charged more than I expected from my credit card. Secondly, they didn't fix my door correctly. The door couldn't be closed tightly and the warning light will get on when I start the engine. they can't fix it but keep saying there is nothing wrong with it. Frank is tricky n not trustworthy. Horrible bad experience. In Response to owner: it is 2014 Car and has only 20k mile ages. The car just got annual check up in greenwich where I bought right before I pulled in to your shop to replace the door. I didn't even mention the big damage inside the door under the handle. It was hidden under so you guys refused the damage. And also Frank promised to fix it in 2 days to make me leave my car sooner right after the car service in greenwich but they took 1 week and promised he wouldn't charge me for the extra rental days which was not true .How dishonest !! I have a baby car seat in the back seat , so the door now is used a lot and the light keeps turned on ,so I have to pull over to reclose the door much harder to keep my baby safe. :( read more

I contacted LoBalbo's instead of my usual repair shop on the other side of town because it was closer and had some great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not as pleasant as some of the other users here. The customer service at LoBalbo's is, in a word, abysmal. They don't seem to communicate any information about the status of the repair to you. I called to check in for the first time on a Thursday, four days after I dropped the car off, because I hadn't heard from them. I was told that there was additional damage so the repair was taking a bit longer. Fair enough - I would've preferred they called me to alert me to the situation, but OK, it happens. Since the repair was taking longer than I anticipated, I stopped by the shop on Saturday to get some stuff out of my car. I was told that the repairs would be finished by Monday. Monday came and went, as did Tuesday and Wednesday. When I called for the second time on Wednesday, I was assured the car would be ready the next day. At 4pm the next day, still not having heard from them, I called for third time to see what the status was, and was told for the first time that they had not received the check from the insurance company for the additional work so they were holding onto the car. I needed the car back today, so I had to go in and pay it for it myself. All they had to do was tell me, "The car is finished but we can't release the car until we receive the additional payment from your insurance company." Then I could've called the insurance company and tried to expedite the process. Instead, my car sat for at least a week while I received no updates, and because I needed my car back after almost 14 days I ended up having to front the cost for the entire repair and now have to deal with the insurance company myself. I tried to clarify this morning - "Is the check from the insurance company on its way to you?" And they assured me it was. As it turns out, when I called the insurance company, they said they had not yet issued the check. The folks at LoBalbo are convinced it's in the mail. So again, they were not giving me accurate information and leading me to believe my situation would be resolved, even though there was no immediate resolution in place. A few days ago I asked the auto shop over the phone, "Do you have a process in place to notify customers the status of their repairs if something unexpected comes up?" And their answer, to my surprise was, "No, not really." Incredible. I offered them one last chance to make it right and avoid losing my business and the business of folks I know forever by at least taking something off of the bill (the part that I was paying that insurance wasn't covering) and of course, they refused. To put it in perspective - the auto body shop I used on the other side of town, My Way Auto Body, promised my car would be ready at 9AM. When I showed up, they said that there was a delay and it would be a few more hours. Not only did they take $500 off the bill, they gave me money to go get breakfast at the nearby diner. And that was for only a four hour delay! In a nutshell, it baffles me that I was consistently given incorrect information about the status of my car, I had to keep calling because I heard nothing from them, and when I asked them why this process was such a mess, they basically just shrugged. If you know exactly what your repair is and how long it will take, I'm sure LoBalbo is a fine shop. But if you're not, and you're not comfortable with leaving your vehicle in limbo for weeks, I'd advise going somewhere else. read more

The first time I used Lobalbo Brothers was because they were Geico certified. I had pretty much trashed my front end with thousands in damage. The tow truck dropped my car off on a Tuesday, and within a couple of hours I got a call with the total estimate. By Friday, my car was completely repaired and looked brand new. I actually cried when I saw it for the first time! The process was easy, and they arranged for a overnight drop off and an after hours pick up. I didn't even meet someone from Lobalbo's because it was so convenient everything could be done outside of my work hours. Recently, I needed a small repair job done that I did not want to go through Geico. He was 100% reasonable with his estimate and even gave me a great deal! The job was done in two days (a day sooner than he estimated) and once again, I cried when I saw it. They are easy, quick, and reasonable. My side mirror was knocked open when I kissed a mailbox. I went to LoBalbo Brothers to get an estimate and schedule the repair. Outside in the lot, Andy took a look at it and made some quick tweaks and clicks that stabilized the mirror but I was still unable to adjust the mirror from the driver's side. He summoned Jason to come take a look, and Jason used his "magic touch" and fixed it right on the spot! What a great team they make! Just picked up my kids' Saab that needed another A/C condenser after the first one failed which was installed after a fender bender. Frank did an exceptional job having it replaced and charging the AC. When it didn't work right away Frank solved the problem by replacing the the cabin filter as well. Now the A/C is again fully operational. All was done within 6 hours and that with a 'full house' of cars needing TLC. This "second" installation was still covered under the original payment. Jason and the crew here were awesome. The following is my story: Unfortunately, I had two accidents in the span of 8 months. The first accident took over 3 weeks to repair. I was told it was due to parts ordering and a missing air sensor that further delayed the repair. That was another repair shop- fair service, but I had to follow up a number of times. Had a later issue that they fixed after I brought it in, not sure if it was related to first repair, but there was no additional charge. Now to the present: I just had a similar accident less than a week ago. Took car in to Lobalbo Brothers on Wednesday, parts delivered Friday, car ready on Tuesday, or less than one week later. They also washed the car and interior. I called them in the morning for status update, and they delivered on their promise and called me back to tell me car was ready! Very impressive service, repairs made car look like new. I have a GEICO guarantee for this repair, but Lobalbo has an additional guarantee on top of GEICO's guarantee! recently brought my car here to get some work done on the bumper, and asked the owner to also touch up some of the scratches on the car since i was paying completely out of pocket for the work. (deductible was so expensive). The bumper came out nice, but the touch up work completed on some of the scratches literally looked like someone took black nail polish and went over the scratch. The scratches look worse now then they did before they touched them up. When i previously had touch up paint applied to other cars, usually they would be blended and not noticable. The touch up job done here was not blended at all, and the paint is now raised. What a mistake, i would not recommend this shop to anyone with a decent vehicle. They kept my car twice the time they originally told me, probably to squeeze more money out of the insurance. The bank of the car started to peel off after a year. I brought my car here after an accident and used insurance to pay. They claimed to have repaired everything with new parts, but instead only fixed a portion of the damage. They charged my insurance for a new bumper, but left the damaged one on. They also wrote up an estimate with parts that don't even belong on my model vehicle, and even zip-tied my oil cooler back together rather than replacing it! I brought my car to a legitimate shop for a second look, and there was $3,500 in damage that was never addressed! Lies, insurance fraud, and really bad body work. Avoid at all cost! read more

Just got my Infiniti Coupe back from getting repaired by these guys and I couldn't be happier. There was some damage to my rear quarter panel which required repainting the entire quarter panel. After the repair it looks like the car was never even damaged. Many shops claim to do great work but these guys really lived up to their word. The owners and manager are very nice guys as well. Took my car here 6 months ago for a repair, as recommended by my insurance company (GEICO). The initial experience was fine and the process was smooth. I didn't have major damage (really just cosmetic damage on the front bumper), so when I picked it up I didn't feel the need to go over it with a "fine toothed comb". It was essentially just a sanding and re-painting of the bumper. The next day I noticed some swirl marks in the top of the bumper and should have immediately gone back, but I thought it wasn't a big deal because I had "the GEICO guarantee" on the work if it didn't hold up. Fast forward six months and the scratches that were in the same place as my original accident began to show through. I went back to the shop and spoke to both a GEICO rep and an employee and immediately dismissed that it was their fault and that someone else hit me, although the area where the scratches were, matched the original accident exactly and there were no dents or other defects in the bumper. Glad I went with that GEICO guarantee! I recommend you go to your local dealership for bodywork, even though they will likely outsource it. They all will offer a guarantee and since their primary goal is to get you to come back to either service or hopefully purchase your next car there, I believe that they will make sure that you are happy with the bodywork and the service, as opposed to being just a number. read more
