Been here twice in the last couple of months and I am pretty disappointed with both experiences. I came here because of the location convenience. Usually when I am craving pho and don't feel like cooking it myself, I go downtown for my fix. Knowing that there was a restaurant serving pho closer to home gave me hope. The first time I came here was a Sunday, few months back, and it was completely dead at noon. It didn't really bother me, since that meant there shouldn't be a long wait. The pho came out in quite large bowls but it was quite pricey. They served a pretty good portion of meat and the rice noodles were medium sized like most pho restaurants I've been to. The broth however was lacking taste. I felt like I had to put several stuff in my bowl to give it some flavor. The second time I came here, I ordered more than just the pho. I had the spring rolls, pho, and lobster roll. The spring rolls are fresh ingredients inside a rice wrap. Unfortunately the rice wrap was not fresh which caused parts of it to be hard with every bite. The pho again was lacking taste which was very disappointing. This time, it didn't matter what I put in it, it still tasted so bland. The noodles were so thin and tasted different. The noodles looked like angel hair noodles. They also put so much noodles in your bowl to hide the fact that they cut the meat potion size. The lobster roll was disgusting and lacking flavor. They added so much butter to the lobster roll that it made the hot dog bun so soggy, it was difficult to eat. The lobster was very chewy which meant it wasn't fresh. Lobster and Pho: two of my favorite and opposite things in one place. The Rockside Road restaurant scene was vietnamese free until Lobster and Pho decided to move in. Located in the Rockside Corners Shopping Center at Rockside Road and Brecksville Road (route 32), the venue is great for all the employees who work in the area plus is right smack off the freeway. It shares a vast parking lot with the rest of shopping center, something I always like to highlight for a good restaurant is ease of parking. Anyhoo, my squad waited anxiously for months for this place to open. I think the neighboring pho place would probably be 10-15 miles away and for me, this is an easy drive when I crave the warmth of this asian medicinal bone broth. So I ordered the namesake items (lobster roll and a bowl of pho) unfortunately to be underwhelmed. First the lobster roll is cold, which is fine in some situations. A few scoops of lobster rested in a regular hot dog bun with bland taste that I would compare to grocery store lobster substitute. For $17, I was quite disgusted. You can buy a cheaper and much tastier lobster roll just a mile down the road at Oak Barrell. The bowl of pho was very generous, as it should for $12 (i feel the average bowl of pho in CLE is like $7-10) but I found the broth to be watery and lack luster and did not even want to finish it. Second time. Had the fried lobster tail. Tasted ok but really small for $20! Really only got about 3 good bites of lobster. Sauce for lobster tasted good but a very watery consistency. Also had the summer rolls. And as someone else stated here (and I should've listened,) they didn't seem fresh. Kinda dry and chewy. The service was great, I ordered takeout so no real interaction with servers. I ordered the deep fried lobster which was amazing in its self. I got the seafood Pho. Amazing very flavorful spicy but not too spicy. Ordered a deep fried cheesecake, first time ever having it was ok. Reminded me of uncle Tetsu cheesecake In California. I ordered the rare beef pho and was not disappointed! I'm from California and we have a Pho restaurant on every corner and this place is just as good. The decor is nicely done but could have been a bit cleaner. I also had an order of the pork pot sticker which were very good as well. My only complaint is that it appeared that they used a knockoff siracha sauce and the hoisin sauce was watery. Other than that, very good! read more

I was craving Pho Ga one cold and misty day! So I checked out "Lobster & Pho" for lunch. As usual, when visiting a new Pho joint - I have my favorite - the Pho Ga. I was tempted to try the Lobster Pho - never seen that before - maybe next time! I came in after the regular lunch rush - so there were only a couple of other customers. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally had the opportunity to do lunch with my partner. The inside is pretty uneventful. Kind of a neighborhood, mom & pop vibe. Not much in the way of decorations or theme. Once we got someone's attention, we were asked to pick out a table, as there was only one other table occupied. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and opted to split the spicy beef pho bowl and a combo seafood bag (The Beginner). The calimari was just ok. It was advertised as having a tempura batter and tossed in a salt & pepper mix. For tempura, the batter was pretty thick and that s&p was nonexistent. I was expecting it to be like the salt and pepper shrimp that their neighbor, Thai Gourmet, serves. This ain't that! The Signature Spicy Beef pho was pretty good! Very nice portion, perfect for sharing. It wasn't all that spicy, however. More like the broth had a kick. That was a little disappointing but it was served with chili sauce, some were able to adjust. The combo bag was good! Seafood cooked properly and plenty of variety to choose from. Definitely recommend. We also ordered cocktails as they have a full bar. The drinks were fine, we ordered cranberry mojitos. Nothing to write home about. I was coming out of Potbelly's next door 1 day and saw the sign on the door "Lychee slushy". I knew I had to grab 1 because I haven't had anything lychee in so many years. Got the slushy & was instantly hooked. Came here a few times already for the food with a friend. Upon entering, you're greeted by someone, either hostess or on some of their slower nights, a waiter/waitress. Seating is immediate and drink orders are pretty quick. Their menu is pretty decent, it offers a variety of seafood options and pho options. The first time I came here I ordered their basic pho with beef ribeye slices. The second and third time, I ordered some shrimp and crawfish with their garlic butter mix and spicy level of hot. Crawfish was alright but it wasn't cooked in the sauce so it didn't soak up any of the flavorings. Only the corn and potatoes did soak up the flavoring which was super delicious! My friend ordered the lobster pho because he couldn't eat beef or pork and it was a seafood broth that was very flavorful and very filling. Their pho comes in 1 size so it's pretty simple to order. No matter how hungry you are, a bowl of pho will definitely fill you up! It's a great place for families and groups or couples to enjoy an evening meal together. I personally would order the pho again, it's pretty good. I wouldn't order music seafood however because the seafood doesn't have much flavor to it since it doesn't get cooked in the sauce. It's not pricey, probably about $20 per person if you wanted some appetizer and bowl of pho or appetizer and seafood. Staff is great and very attentative to customers! Stopped in with a couple of friends yesterday. It is a fusion style restaurant, this they don't offer all the traditional Vietnamese cuisine. They have happy hour specials as well as BOGO 1/2 off lunch specials. I tried the pho gha (chicken) and my friends had the spice beef. All were pleased with the food. It was hot and prepared quickly. The only complaint, but not really a complaint was the time to get refills on our drinks. Reasonably priced for pho from about $10-$14. Lobster & Pho is a mash up of Vietnamese, seafood and cajun seafood boils. On a recent cold night, we were lured in by thoughts of a steamy bowl of pho, and headed there to see what this crazy sounding restaurant was like. As you walk in, you are greeted by large tanks of live lobsters. There is a bar area that is open to the dining room. It has a strange sports bar vibe thanks to lots of TVs all over the dining area. We started off the meal by sharing the vegetarian egg rolls. They were served fresh out of the fryer and were really tasty considering they didn't include any meat for flavor. My husband went with the traditional Pho Tai ($10) with rare steak in the house beef broth, but I decided to take a chance on the Signature Spicy Beef Pho ($12) a combo of rare steak & beef shank in a special spicy beef broth. Boy am I glad I did! It was definitely the star of our meal. There was a nice kick to the flavorful broth. I did not really like the traditional broth but my husband thought it was "Ok". The flavor was just a little off to me - not terrible, but not up to par with the other much better pho options in Cleveland. If you are in there area for lunch, they do have a lunch special for Buy One/Get One Pho 1/2 off. It's limited to P2, P3, P4, and P5 bowls Monday - Friday 11am - 4pm. They also offer Happy Hour during the week. I've heard that the fried lobster tail is amazing so I'll definitely be returning sometime to try that. What an unassuming and awesome place. I've now tried a few boil-in-a-bag places and I can easily say that this one is my favorite. The service here is SO fast! They don't waste any time bringing you your food and the service is so friendly and attentive. I ordered the shrimp head-off in lemon pepper sauce and my Mom ordered the lobster tails in butter. I loved that their seafood comes with corn, sausage and potato. They don't nickel and dime you for every piece of the boil-in-a-bag. This is super fair and pretty unique for NEO! The shrimp had a delicious flavor in the lemon pepper sauce. It had a zingy, peppery kick but wasn't spicy or overwhelming. I snuck a bite of my Mom's lobster tails and they were the juicy perfection I hoped for. All of their seafood comes from Connecticut (we asked), so no three-eyed Lake Erie seafood here. As far as presentation goes, this is the most photogenic boil-in-a-bag I've seen yet. The inside is super spacious and has several different types of chairs if you need a certain accommodation. We didn't try the pho, but folks at tables around us had some steaming, colorful bowls that looked delicious. On Tuesdays, they have a special of lobster tails for $20, which is totally something I will come back for! Love this new spot. read more

"Can you take a table for 25-30 people? Yes? Okay! Be there in an hour." This is the story of a hungry crowd of 25-30 people here for a conference ended up at Lobster & Pho, and how the night was one of joy and companionship. I was very excited they were able to take such a large group, and they were able to satisfy everyone! Even the people who never had pho before (gasp) and had doubts walked out of the meal satisfied. First off, happy hour from 3pm-close? That was the first great surprise! We finished off the last of the happy hour Red Blend for the night and ordered other drinks as well. Second, with such a large group there is bound to be dietary restrictions one way of another (plus you have me, no onion no scallion girl). Lobster & Pho was able to accommodate my food allergy, vegan/vegetarian options, and gluten-free. Didn't hear of any issues at all! Third, the servers were all very attentive and a pleasure to spend time with. I was even able to have a conversation in Cantonese after the meal to complement the food and service we received. Lobster pho is new to me and I was excited to try. in fact I had trouble figuring out which item I wanted on the menu because I wanted to try everything! I ordered the lobster pho without scallions, onions, or cilantro. I tasted the broth and it was so savory and flavorful. Can I get a vat to take home so I can have it again? Would've liked to see maybe shrimp, fish balls, or other seafood added in addition to just a lobster tail in the pho. Otherwise, I'd definitely order it again! I got a taste of crawfish from the seafood boil since someone at the table ordered enough for everyone to try. Very nice flavors and right amount of spice for me. We had someone from the south in our group and he gave a thumbs up to the crawfish as well. So many options, not enough time in Ohio to try them all in one sitting. The highlight was the pho. We're very picky when it comes to pho in making sure that it's authentic tasting. Few are on the top of the list for the area and this was one very nicely done. What a deal. Started with fried oysters, fresh shucked and breaded. Spring rolls were well done. Lobster dinner was amazing. Came for the pho, stayed for the seafood boil. My friends heard that the pho was not that great and seeing as to how they're also a bit overpriced, we decided to try the seafood boil. The beginner and the ultimate bag. The sausage, potato and corn tasted amazing out of everything. A lot of the shells seem empty, but only because the meat fell out into the sauce. Amazing! This place is in a strip mall nestled between a sandwich and pizza spot. The name caught our attention and we decided to check it out. We decided to start with the Crab Ragoons as we decided between one of the many Pho options and seafood boils. We did not end up trying a boil. But, the tables near us that did raved about them. The crab ragoons were great and we ended up ordering a second order. They come with 6 per order. We tried the Beef phi and the spicy seafood pho which was a special and I suggest be added to the menu. The seafood pho had shrimp, clams, scallops in a spicy seafood broth. Excited to see this place finally open. I've driving past for months eager to see how the interesting combination of pho and seafood boils was going to work. Tucked into a shopping plaza next to Aladdins, the unassuming sign leads you into a restaurant with a nice industrial chic interior. Surprisingly attractive for an Asian themed restaurant. Wait staff were very attentive throughout the meal. We weren't quite in the mood for an all out boil so The Wife and I decided on 2 of the specialty pho bowls (with all the ingredients but sans tripe by request), an order of roti canai and the fried fish rice platter with curry. Pho took a surprisingly long time to get on the table - most times it is less than 10 mins in most restaurants. It was a generous portion, bigger than most places in town, but also more expensive. How was it? It was ok. I thought it had nice body, but definitely was lacking in flavor. It needed more salt and spices. There was definitely less MSG in the broth compared to other places, but I found myself adding hoisin sauce to the broth to make it more flavorful, which I hardly ever do. Pho is all about the broth and I was a little sad that it was lacking the depth of other half decent places like Superior Pho. It was also cloudy from being a bone broth- my wife says she likes the clarity of other broths but I like it cloudy. Bean sprouts and other vegetation was fresh. It was enough of a portion that 2 people could split it to make a light meal. Roti canai had tasty fry bread but not so much of the classic crispy crepe that I expected. Curry was more of a light Japanese style curry which was honestly a little watery. Would have been better with some potatoes, carrots and maybe some chicken in it, like Pacific East. Also could use more salt and spice. Fried fish cutlet was a good deal, 3 pieces of catfish, well battered and fried. Curry sauce was the same as on the roti. Needs more salt and savoriness, I think. Came with salad with a dressing that tasted like an Vidalia onion vinaigrette. Might be more interesting with a ginger dressing. The owner came by afterward to ask for feedback. Said he had gotten feedback from other customers that the broth had been too heavily flavored so they had dialed it back some. I told him my honest feedback and he received it graciously. Hopefully the broth is a work in progress. I would totally consider getting some take out broth from Superior Pho and testing their formula against it, because honestly this is the only Pho place on the south side of Cleveland and if they can get the broth right it'll be fantastic for us south siders. 4 stars, a little bit of a bonus for the good staff and ownership, hope they aren't afraid to turn up the flavor in the future when I come back! read more
