My wife and I have been here twice (brunch and dinner), and got: - The Staple: 1.5 pounds of lobster with a couple of sides. The lobster was plump and tasted really fresh. That said, the garlic in the garlic sauce was non-existent since it tasted so bland. - Halifax Burger: Sublime. Basically, it's a burger but the patty is 5oz of lobster smothered in cheddar and mozzarella. I'd go back again and again and again for this. - Classic Lobster Roll: It was fine, good amount of lobster. Though tastewise, it definitely was classic = common. - Lobster Benny: Meh. Good poach on the eggs but not sure if there wasn't enough lobster because the taste didn't really come through. - Lobster Bisque: Was sooo good the first time - the lobster flavour was strong. Second time was less enjoyable as it was more watered down. - Claws and Cheese: Standard mac and cheese topped with an ok amount of lobster. If you like your m&c more creamy than cheesy, you'll like this. - Chocolate Banana Spring Rolls: Not as good as it sounds. Each part (chocolate, banana, spring roll coating) was fine by itself but didn't seem to pop together. Service we received was excellent - friendly, knowledgable, quick. We came here for Summerlicious, as they had lobster rolls on the menu, one of my favourite sandwiches. Great ambiance with plenty of space and seating choices. Not a sports bar as there were only a couple screens. Probably good for groups, we were 4 of us. Three of us ordered the classic roll w bisque and loved it. Reasonable portion sizes and therefore good value. The truffle lobster roll was also enjoyed. Fries were great but for them to be called shoestring they should have been even thinner. It's nice to know that restaurant owners and senior staff want to make an extra effort to ameliorate an unfortunate situation. In this case, LBB did just that. Marcel and Anton took the initiative and I'd like to send kudos to them. My original review was noted and so the promotional price was honoured for this dining experience. Our server, Nicole, was excellent. We ordered the steamed lobster which was cooked perfectly. Tender, moist, fresh, and flavourful. The burger, was ok. It was a thick hunk of meat, but if only it was juicier... I'm sure they can improve the taste and texture. As for the sides, we had the choice of 2 out of fries, salad, or rice. Instead, we upgraded the regular fries to a poutine (extra $4) and then an extra $6 for the lobster mac and cheese. I think these were well worth the additional costs because they were both heartier and satisfying. My dining companion ordered 2 glasses of house reds and I had a Moscow mule, sans straw. I liked that the server asked me if I wanted one, which I didn't... cuz you know, the planet. We ended our meal with the banana sprIng rolls. A tasty sweet treat! I would go back for lobster. Pretty underrated place on king st, would say it's good for work events bc the space is so large. It's not too busy most of the time. They have $6 cocktails all the time and $6 food during "snappy hour" which is pretty good value. My favourite drink is the pacific sweet water (lychee flavoured) and for food - onion rings, lobster roll, fries, popcorn shrimp and taco of the day. Lobster bisque is also good and clam chowder is hit or miss. Def a must try if you're looking for a chill place to hang out in the downtown core. read more

I work dangerously close to this place, so it's become the go-to for post work drinks. The service is excellent, and they have great happy hour (they say "snappy hour". Get it?) drink and app deals. I've only ever had a meal once. I had the lobster roll which was delicious. The lobster was generous, and the bread tasted and felt like it may have been deep fried in butter, kind of like a Pizza Hut pan pizza. It was fabulous. read more

My lobster roll was stuffed with lobster meat, which was amazing but the whole roll itself just lacked flavor which was the disappointing part. It literally did not have flavor, like missing some salt and pepper to the minimum? Don't get me wrong, the meat was fresh and all, but tasted bland. On the other hand, my husband tried the Halifax burger ($28) which was super flavourful. It was a 5oz lobster patty mixed in with a blend of cheeses. This burger was delicious. A little smaller than I had expected given the price, but delicious. Comes with 2 sides as well so he opted for the Lobster mac & cheese ($6) and a salad. The lobster mac & cheese was tasty, nice and creamy and cheesy but I will say it lacked lobster. I think there were only 2 tiny pieces in the side, and by tiny I mean almost not visible at all. Horrendous experience. We were seated and ignored for 23 min, other tables seated were served. I went up to the hostess and while she apologized I didn't get the impression that they really cared. The food was average, if lobster is in the name of your rest then it better be good but it wasn't. We went on Tueaday where wines were half price but we never fot the offer. Burger was well cooked, especially given its hefty dimensions. Usual garnishes were available but the burger was a bit bland. Lobster bisque was also diluted in taste, very inoffensive but also not noteworthy. Service: Staff were attentive and had a genuine interest in our experience at the restaurant. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere: Restaurant was spacious and the layout affords privacy. TV screens are near the bar for any sports fans. It was my first time there and I have to tell you what a delicious food they have! I've ordered the Mac'n'cheese and added lobster to it... OMG! I'm mouthwatering right now just to think about it! It's tasty, fresh and yummy! It has bacon on it too so it gives you a smokiness taste that it's just what you need. It also comes with a toasted bread that is crunchy and buttery and garlic! Plus the restaurant is beautiful and fancy and welcoming. I could feel like I was on vacation in a beach island! The staff is super friendly and they look like they are all family! After the hype about hearing of the opening of this new spot in Toronto I made a trip here on valentines day being a huge lobster bisque and lobster roll fan. The decor of the place is excellent! Super nice/loungy and cute date night spot with dim lighting and a nice modern vibe. TBH I was expecting something a bit more casual so I was quite impressed. The place was packed being valentines day ofcourse but we were lucky enough to get a table right away around 6:30pm. Our server was great and apologized for the tight space and was super attentive. We got 2 Caesars ($14 each) suite step but came with a mini burger and small piece of lobster (the menu stated "lobster" so sas a big dissapointed on the portion of that. Next we got the lobster bisque..really disappointing.. tasted like something that came from a can. Then again I'm comparing lobster bisque to the Fred's not here lobster bisque which was top of the line! (1/5) We also got the lobster roll which came with 2 sides for $28 quite steep but lobster isn't exactly cheap. The lobster roll itself was okay..not amazing (3/5)...and the fries it came with were quite good...nice and thinly chopped and perfectly seasoned. My friends and I were super excited to check out Lobster Burger Bar after seeing so many videos and posts on social media. While the food didn't exactly meet our expectations, it was the service that left a bad taste and completely ruined our experience. For a restaurant that specializes in lobster, most of our food items were just mediocre. We ordered the one-two combo (lobster, roll, burger, 3 sides), lobster tacos and lobster Mac and cheese. The tacos and the lobster and shrimp rolls were the favourites, but they don't stand out from any other lobster dishes we've tried at other establishments. They were pretty bland ... the other items were even more bland... the garlic butter we ordered with the steamed lobster literally had no taste??? LOL so most of us just ate the steam lobster plain. Even though the food was underwhelming, the service we received was worse. Right from the start our server was unpleasant and unenthusiastic, but that didn't matter to us at all until she managed to spill a full cup of beer all over the table AND my jeans and all she can say was, "oh.... sorry" ?? Really?? She didn't even offer any compensation or a real apology. I doubt she even told her manager because after that half-assed apology nothing else was said or done about it. She straight up acted like she didn't spilled beer all over a customer? THEN towards the end when she saw me asking my friend if my jeans look more dry she apologized again. Too little too late? Hella inconvenient because we had to go back home for me to change SMH! For a new establishment trying to build a name in downtown, y'all need more professional front of house staff - or at least train them better to acknowledge their mistakes and take accountability for them, especially when making mistakes with customers. I don't know how this place handles situations like mine but at a restaurant I used to work at, one of the servers spilled beer on a customer as well and the manager offered to cover for dry cleaning. Obviously I'm not expecting that much but at least a real apology after it happened would've been nice. I wish I caught the server's name but doesn't matter anyways because I don't plan on coming back anytime soon. read more

Great lobster roll, everything else fell short. We ate on the patio at the Waterloo location, beneath a loudspeaker that blasted terrible, loud music. We were looking forward to lobster fries, lobster rolls with fries, and their signature LBB fries. The $24 lobster roll was generous and full of real lobster. The fries that arrived with it, however, were frozen. Why would a restaurant that has several different types of French fries on their menu rely on frozen, store-bought, mass-produced French fries? Aside from the poor ambiance and disappointing French fries, our server was not very attentive. She was friendly enough, but, after our food arrived, we did not see her again until we chased her down to pay the bill. All in all, we would order the lobster roll as take-out or delivery, substitute something else for the rotten fries, and avoid the actually in-person dining experience altogether. This might be a good place to grab a beer after work, but it is not a pleasant dining experience. read more

Venue: Nice cozy setting with a lot of seating, booths & space for large parties (ours was a party of 15). Open kitchen, which I love, with many Chefs. Nicely arranged washrooms that are individual. Not sure that this restaurant is accessible as it requires you to climb stairs to enter. Customer Service: 4 plus. From The greeters to the waitress, even the managers are super friendly!!! And they have a very hardworking robot...super cute! Menu: Small menu but we all enjoyed it, especially that Sweet Water drink...couldn't stop ordering it. Great personal service from Brandon - very passionate and knowledgeable about the offerings. But don't get me wrong, the food was also awesome! My hubby and I really like lobster and are very particular about it, and we loved this place. The lobster burger, the lobster bisque, the lobster mac and cheese were all so good. That said, when you upgrade your sides, it adds up since premium sides like the bisque and mac and cheese cost more. Also, the chocolate springs roll dessert was just ok. Recently saw this place on IG, and had to give it a go. For the month of January, they have a special for $35 we got a 2lb lobster with burger and two sides! I got the lobster roll that came with two sides, and everything was fresh and tasty. The lobster bisque was a bit watered-down (and I can do without the chewy crostini) but it had legit pieces of lobster in it. Cocktails are a solid okay. Went to the Lobster Burger Bar for the first time for my birthday.  Wow, I was very impressed.  The atmosphere is lovely, relaxing and inviting.  The food is incredible.  Their pricing is very reasonable.  I had the lobster combo and I highly recommend that dish.  The lobster was cooked to perfection.  Also need to give a shout out to Cassandra.  She was incredible.  She was knowledgeable about the menu, professional, friendly and everything you are looking for in a server/bartender.  I loved the food but would return there mainly because of her.  I was blown away with the service and will be a regular because of it.  I also found out that during the summer season, they have a dog menu. Yes that is correct, you could dine with your dog on the patio.  I can't wait to try that out!  Take my word for it, you have to try this place and you won't be disappointed.  You have to eat there :) read more

A group of colleagues and I went here to take advantage of the January promo, which we were disappointed had ended on January 25th. We had already planned to come here, so went anyways. One of my coworkers has a shellfish allergy, we assumed she'd be fine having a burger and fries. The chef came out to say that the fries are cooked in the same oil as the lobster, as well as the grill where the burgers are cooked. They said they'd do everything they could to keep it separate, but couldn't promise against any cross contamination. She ended up not having any allergic reaction, and enjoyed the burger. We ordered a bunch of things so we could try a little bit of everything - the food, wine, and service were fantastic. We tried the spinach and artichoke dip, fried lobster roll, shrimp tacos, lobster mac and cheese, poutine, garden salad, the 1.5lb lobster, and the kitchen sink dessert. Their friend worked here, and they said the food was amazing. So, we came in. Our server was very energetic and his service was great. He moved here from Ireland and you don't need to ask him. Hard to choose as it all looked delicious. We ordered cocktails, tasty and good prices. We had lobster frites, salmon burger; a fillet well cooked with great sauce and served with sweet potato fries, a lobster burger; very juicy lobster tail with fresh toppings and spicy sauce, served with potato tots, crispy and delicious. Two orders of lobster frites with melted butter and aoli came with tools to get all the lobster meat out, very fun. We had one cheeseburger order, juicy and tasty with an order of buttermilk onion rings - quickly shared and devoured, they were amazing. We had no need of dessert but they brought a complimentary slice of cheesecake adorned with berries and a candle. Very attentive service. Bathrooms spotless and pleasant to use. Waitress named Zaria decided that it was appropriate to let me know the menu was very expensive when I said I was ready to order as if I could not afford my meal.
