For $23 I got a lobster roll and Cape Cod chips. The price is high but I have to say my grilled roll was stuffed with lobster. No fillers of any sort. You do get a small container of melted butter. My husband added the butter to his and thought it added a lot however I was quite happy eating it as is. It was just plump full of lobster and the roll was also good. They also offer lobster in a stuffed avocado and a couple of different seafood rolls as well. We will definitely be keeping our eye out for this food truck in the future. I was excited about finally getting to try them after following them on social media but my excitement faded with the first bite. The best thing about what I ordered was the butter soaked Lay's potato chips that accidentally happened. For only $40 , you can get 2 lobster rolls. The problem is the rolls lacks the freshness you want from seafood and that's important in any seafood dish. I ordered the ultimate roll(lobster, crab, shrimp) on a buttered roll served with Lay's potato chips and melted butter. My husband ordered the CaliRoll(lobster, avocado, bacon bits, sauce) on buttered roll, served with Lay's potato chips and melted butter. Well, they were out of crab but I gladly accepted the offer to double the lobster(no brainer). In my opinion, both the lobster and shrimp had a thawed tasted to it. This is terrible if you're going to eat it cold. My husband had the CaliRoll, he agreed his roll lacked freshness stating the avocado was the freshest thing on his roll. The rolls lacked quality. It's so good and they go heavy on the amount of meat you get which makes the $20 price tag worth it. I had been anticipating, searching for, and trying to track down this lobster dog food truck for months (6 plus). For months times, schedules, and locations were not coinciding and thus the delay. But finally I was able to catch up with it. My expectation however did not match my final experience. The lobster was good with a sweet and tangy taste as to be expected therefore it did not disappoint with the taste. I grabbed a glass of Chardonnay from Dorn at State Street Wine and headed back to the patio area and the truck. There was only one person in front of me, so I took a moment to peruse the menu (which isn't that big). I had my heart set on a lobster roll, so ordered that while engaging in conversation with the cute little girl helping mom run the truck. My order was quickly prepared, and I took it back to the patio to enjoy it with my wine. The bread was perfect, lightly toasted and seasoned. Found this food truck after trying to find lobster rolls at 3 different restaurants in Charlotte and finding out they were closed/out of lobster! Today a coworker visited this food truck to pick lunch up for us. She actually got there before the truck arrived. THEY WERE LATE, which means they were not ready to start serving the customers. The line was short-3 people, and everything is made to order and as they order. I ordered the lobster roll- a split hot dog bun filled with lobster and a side of BBQ chips at the time of $18.xx with tax. It's a standard size hot dog bun but they filled it nicely with lots of lobster and a drizzle of butter. I had several pieces of lobster leftover to eat after finishing the roll because it kept falling out (that's a good thing). Was it good? Yes. Was it like New Jersey? No. Of course not. We aren't on the water here. But it satisfied my craving for lobster and I'd pay for it again. My only complaint is that it was quite salty. Like reallllly salty in some bites. A bit pricey but definitely a good Lobster Roll Been trying to catch up with the Food Truck for some time but finally made contact a couple of Thursday at Old Towne Public House in Cornelius. Picked up a Lobster Roll on my way home and while I did not take it into Old Towne Public House like most people did, I took it home and enjoyed it there. Considering the commute from Statesville back to Cornelius and the delays on I-77, I thought I was going to miss it but did luck out and make it. Couple of folks ahead of me but the line moves well. Ordered my lobster roll and it was ready in about 5 minutes. Walked back across the street and took it home and enjoyed it immensely . A bit different than what I am used to up in Massachusetts or Maine but in some ways better because it's the spread is less complex and does not interfere with the delicate taste of the Lobster. Compared to other places with Lobster Rolls, it's a bit more expensive at $16.00 for a roll and while ample, is not that big a roll and there was nothing else with it. Biggest regret is that I did not get any pictures. Made a very fundamental mistake and left home that morning without inserting the SD Card. Will definitely give them another shot.
