For a seaside restaurant there's absolutely no seafood, the nachos might as well have had cheese wiz on them.. and heaven for bid you have to go to the bathroom, Good luck to ya. After walking around aimlessly a drunk patron gave us a fob key card to get into the bathroom and then we were locked inside a hallway with no way to exit. Not only great food, service was awesome too. Our waitress, Chelsea is the Best. Attentive, efficient, friendly and just awesome. Ordered the truffle tots for appetizer. Caprese salad, fish and chips, tuna melt and for dessert, shared a strawberry tiramisu. Food was absolutely delish. Sitting outside with the best views of the marina, the sunset and the Boston skyline. Great place for a romantic dinner and to enjoy the sunset. We will definitely be back soon. read more

Management/owners need to fix their open seating policy. I was excited to take my family of four (2 adults 2 kids) for dinner early on a Saturday evening with a view of the bay. The sign at the hostess station said to take a menu and seat ourselves. All the tables against the windows overlooking the bay had "reserved" signs, but we found one without a sign with 5 chairs with a view and sat down, happy with the the view. But then a waitress told us we had to move in case a bigger party came. Keep in mind, the sign said to seat ourselves, but apparently that only meant at the crappy tables. So we moved to a table against the wall with no view. Of course in the middle of the meal, a party of 4 came and sat at the first table we had picked. Also, all of the reserved tables were still empty. Our waitress claimed that she had to tell 3 other parties before us to move because it was management policy...??? We don't go out often, and we went here specifically for the view and good food, but I left feeling upset and embarrassed about moving, and generally feeling like the restaurant wanted our money but didn't care about giving us a good experience. Overall experience was good and I am satisfied. It was really difficult to find open restaurant after 9pm in that area, so this restaurant was open and I am very thankful for that. Once we arrived there was a guy who was willing to check our ID's, he mentioned that one of us looks very young, which is true, but what is the point? Why would you check our ID's if we are going to a restaurant? When we said we are going to a restaurant he did not ask for ID's anymore and he said that he thought we are going to the bar. We had lunch here on May 25. Service at this restaurant was great and views of the water are beautiful. We had the tomato mozzarella sandwich and mushroom and brie pizza. The sandwich was out of this world good. The best mozzarella sandwich I have ever had. So why not five stars...the pizza had multiple pieces of hair in it. However, the Manager handled it very well. Pretty good! The view is beautiful, and if it's nice out, you can sit on the 3rd floor deck and look at the harbor and Boston skyline. I had the haddock sandwich, and it was very good. Huge piece of well-seasoned, nicely fried haddock on buttered brioche with tomato, lettuce, onions, and tartar sauce. Sounds standard, but the quality of the fish made it stand out. Fries are also pretty decent. Tried my friend's macaroni and cheese, which was fine because it's macaroni and cheese, and my friend loved her turkey wrap with sweet potato fries. A disaster. This was by far the most horrendous experience in customer service at any restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. As someone who is visiting the Nantasket area in search of a delicious lobster roll, this restaurant disappointed ten-fold. Why? Because after a 40 minute wait and a wholly unpleasant encounter with the rudest manager I've ever encountered. We never made it in to eat. Let's begin with our initial call to reserve a table. Complete and utter cluster f**k. We phoned at 5pm on a Friday night requesting a table for dinner. The hostess informed us that she would not take a reservation for our party, but that they were not busy and had no wait. Our party, which included 5 adults, 2 newborn babies, and a toddler, were at the front door 10 minute after this conversation. We were immediately told to wait for the next available table. They were fully aware of the size of our party during this time. So fast-forward to 5:30pm. No table. No information. A disinterested hostess standing next to a confused busboy. My brother-in-law spots the aforementioned disinterested hostess produce at the hostess stand a crisp white sheet of paper entitled 'Waitlist.' She proceeds to write our party's name on the waitlist - mind you, our party had been waiting at that point for nearly 30 minutes. So a half hour after we arrived, they BEGAN a waitlist. Fast forward to 5:40. We ask for an update on our table. The hostess informs us they are still "figuring out" if it "would be possible" to set up a table to accommodate our party. We then were asked if we had checked in on THE THIRD FLOOR. Keep in mind, we had been waiting at the reception area within eyesight of the hostess stand for the last 40 minutes. NO, of course we did not check in on the 3rd floor. Had we known we had to check in on multiple floors to eat at the same restaurant, we would have done so. At that point, we should have left. No self-respecting eatery would have such ridiculous rules about how to "check in" beyond the hostess stand. But, there were sunk costs - we had already been waiting for 40 minutes. Finally, the general manager / owner / local witch appeared before us to explain to the situation. But rather than simply offer an apology to established customers, she instead decided to offer her best excuse as to not only why we had to wait, but why she COULD NOT SEAT US PERIOD. She did not offer a solution, but here is a direct quote: "I think you need to leave now." After we informed her we had been waiting for an hour, she told us it was because the restaurant was not functioning properly due to an event and the a/c being broken. LIKE. I. CARE. At this point, I just wanted a damn lobster roll and for this witch to shut her mouth. I wasn't there to be HER therapist; she is the MANAGER of the restaurant! My cousins and I are not anger management therapists, we were just seeking a place to have dinner on a summer night. This place did not deliver. THUMBS DOWN. read more

Came here for the first time last night (a Saturday) around 8pm. Beautiful night so was fully expecting to wait. We were quoted 45-50 mins. I asked if there was a way to get a drink while we wait and the hostess, Kat, went right outside and found a drink table for us to sit and we were able to enjoy the most gorgeous gorgeous sunset with a cocktail in hand. Kat got us a table on the third floor patio and it was so amazing! She was such a doll to chat with. The breeze up there was phenomenal, we saw some fireworks, and our server Meaghan was great. I went to a baby shower here in May, and was totally astounded at the the frozen food items that were probably bought from Shaws Super market, home fires , Quiche, and day old fruit salad. Despite this bad experience my elderly Mother had asked me take her here , she'd been here when it was the Sea Dog and wanted to go here for lunch, despite my negative experince I decided to give it another chance, what a mistake, my Mom could not even eat the fish she was served as it tasted funny, I told her to send it back but she didn't want to complain, the steak tips were so rare I'am surprised they didn't moo and walk of the the plate, even the french fries that were store bought were over cooked, tables were un-bused from previous customers and the the floor littered with empty sugar pkgs., water served in plastic cups, yet you had a mis mash of missing silver ware served in a cloth napkin, total disgrace. This place lives of it location, should have gone to McDonald's and sat in front of the ocean, would have been better, don't waste your money going here, I would suggest buying a bottle of Pepto Bismol on your way home cause your gon'a be spending the next day sitting on the throne read more

I'm a huge fan of the fish tacos at Local 02045...and the view obviously! I was reluctant to order the fish tacos for takeout but I'm so glad I did. They were super crunchy and delicious! The boys loved the burger and Mac and cheese and the cookies were a nice surprise! Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed. read more

We had the worst service and racist experience here and will never return. I am astonished this place can have such awful customer service. Do not eat or drink from this place poor recommendation. We sat at the bar and no one approached us. We went to grab water and had to serve ourselves. They just gave water to go to our friends who stopped by 5 min ago. The manager stood in our face inquisitively asking if we were here for reservations. We said we'll pay for the water and she blocked us from leaving. We asked to use a bathroom and the brunette host with hair in a bun lied about a bathroom downstairs. The manager with longer light brown sandy hair even had the audacity to follow us downstairs to corner us again and demanded we are criminals for drinking tap water. Do not support racist businesses as our caucasian friend casually got served water to go and walked out with No problem. Came here from out of town for a good time with a local who is my brother, and was really surprised by the service here. Great food and drinks but can't deny, very much lacking within a good customer service experience in certain key areas. I understand the difficulties coming from a background in the same industry from multiple roles myself, it is rough I know, but this is a service nonetheless. Things could be a bit more relaxed for a marina restaurant style experience imo. We entered the restaurant and were abruptly sent to the 3rd floor by three hostesses and without any proper greeting; not a smile or a hello for new customers. They seemed more interested about their personal issues at the time. We shrugged it off and walked upstairs entering a nice top bar area overlooking the waters. They had yesterday's baseball game and a nice server. Things went downhill when their systems broke down and they couldn't except electronic transactions anymore for the day. They only gave us two options, "Give us your card information or find an atm."...Even told us they couldn't give back change even with cash on hand? Having being victims of identity theft before, it was the last thing we wanted to do. It was unfortunate that my brother had to leave me there like a prisoner for an hour to fetch a payment. Sadly I felt this was a bit out of place for such a nice setup. I look forward to improvements. All the best. The food was overpriced and my husband's burger was undercooked. We were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I surprised my husband with this location knowing he love it for the view. And inspite of the food, he did. He took tons of photos and we were enjoying the environment. I even made a comment about renewing our vows there. She made several rude, unprofessional, ignorant, and offensive comments. I left in tears feeling humiliated with my husband. And turns out that heartless loser was the General Manager Lisa Powers. We were greeted at the door on a Saturday night. I thought that was a nice touch. There is an elevator to go to the second and third floor. We were seated right away. Our waitress was delightful and made our dinner perfect . The food was awesome . I had a lobster roll that was over flowing with lobster. The steamers looked yummy. The fish and chips was huge and fresh. The clam roll was excellent. The chicken Marsala was delicious on a bed of spaghetti. The sunset and views over the pier and marina were breathtaking. Last night, Friday of Memorial Day weekend, I got out of work at 8pm in Braintree, picked up a couple friends in Weymouth and one in Hingham, headed to Hull to this place because I had gone in the past when it had been the Sea Dog. Knowing of the beautiful view, thought we could go have some nice drinks looking at the water. We were greeted by a bouncer, very nice, checked IDs. Then in the little lobby before the stairs was a woman (who we found out was the owner) and another male staff member. We politely said hello, she looked at us funny, asked where we were from then angrily informed us that we wouldn't be served at her bar. Confused, we assumed she was joking and awkwardly laughed when she, now apparently more angry, told us that we were already wasted and barged in front of us to go tell the bar. Completely dumbfounded (including the male employee and bouncer), we left. Will never return, our family's and friends won't either. Never have I experienced such random rudeness and from THE OWNER!!! Awful. read more

One word.. POTENTIAL!! Local 02045 has a million dollar view across Hull Harbor toward the Boston skyline. The view of the sunset here is spectacular. It's not that the food or the service are poor, it's just that each is incredibly mediocre. The closest comparison I can make is "country club" dining. This situation is clearly the result of management decisions made by ownership... either they don't know any better or they have made the conscious decision to let the unique view be the draw. A little inspiration and a commitment to offering a quality product could make this place legendary. For the time being... meh. read more
