On a beautiful Sunday where good weather has been rare, ten of us set off for Sunset Harbor, Hull in our boats. For my husband and I, it's our first experience at this charming restaurant with killer views of Boston and Safe Harbor Marina. We were all delighted with our menu choices: Crispy Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips, Steak Tips and Baked Haddock with Lobster Sauce. I have to say the highlight of our visit was our very smart and charming waitress, Michelle who did not need to write our orders but brought our orders perfectly. I was happy to find this place! Area is beautiful and the sunset was perfection. Only issue I had was the pretzel wasn't quite cooked. I'd suggest using pretzel sticks instead. Otherwise, frozen drinks were amazing and the waitress (though very busy) worked hard. She had a bunch of kids near us that kept her occupied. But they shud have it down by now Their online info is not kept up so you go based on info that says 15 minute wait when it's more like an hour .... Take the online info down. Lots of people not happy about it We did get seats at the bar. Drinks were served fast so the bar service saved the day We ordered food only to have almost an hour wait for 3 sandwiches. First I love Local and have been going there for years. Today I had my first bad meal. I want to say that the wait staff handled everything great. There are absolutely no complaints about them. Shrimp cocktail had a hair on it. The shrimp in a shrimp Caesar salad tasted metallic. The chicken in the Caesar salad just tasted off. The noise level inside was terrible. We got married on the top floor on Saturday. Lisa Powers was amazing as were Sherri and Michelle! Lisa kept the event running smoothly and efficiently! The food was fantastic! Everyone commented that they couldn't believe how incredible the food was! I highly recommend this venue and the people who run it. Went in and sat at the bar with some friends for a drink. When asked to provide ID, we all (28+) presented our out of state IDs. We were told that they could not accept our of state IDs and if we could present passports. Obviously, we did not have our passports present and were then promptly denied service. I understand from previous reviews on this site, that the owners have taken the liberty of creating a policy to "protect their establishment." But three woman, clearly over age, who politely came in and sat at the bar were not a threat in anyway. I highly doubt on a holiday weekend, everyone in this establishment was from Massachusetts or walked in with a passport. But the place was booming, so it didn't seem anyone else was denied service... Frankly this "protection" seems to only be a cover that allows this establishment to be exclusionary and prejudiced. read more

Nice location on bay side of Nantasket. Food was ok, but over-priced. The appetizer was chicken wings and super over priced. 6 pieces for $16 ??? that is really 3 wings. Fish and chips were 1$ cheaper than a Salmon dinner ???? These are things that just aggravate customers being ripped off for a view of the water. A $200 lunch for a family of 5 with no liquor, just ok food and 2 that had salads.. We will not be back. read more

Great views and service! Food was nothing special a little pricing but portions were a good. 5 of us ate. For appetizers the table ordered clam chowder, and a pretzel. Meals were a hot dog and French fries, steak tips and fries, broccoli and chicken, steak tip salad, and veggie wrap. Everyone agreed food was bland and not all that. Love the ambiance at this super neat beachy hideaway! One of the coolest spots in hull for sure. I love the vibe. Especially on a hot summer day on their patio. Truly and excellent place to hang with a friend for a few drinks or go on a day date with your person. Also they do events! The food is also pretty solid. Delicious fish tacos and seafood. The only issue I've had is with their alcohol supply. They ran out of every single thing I ordered on the menu one day when I went in. I ordered two different types of draft beer and they were out of both. And then I ordered a Tito's soda and they didn't have Tito's. I was like ok I'm floored I struck out 3 times. I've wanted to eat at this new lively bar/restaurant all summer. We got to go last weekend during Hull's Endless Summer event. It's a little ways down from the beach strip, easy to find with plenty of parking. Great bay view with a wonderful sky line view of Down Town Boston and a busy marina. Got a table on their second floor deck with a table and umbrella to help with direct sun. We were given excellent service immediately and had their delicious dirty banana cocktail served with a half a banana, yummy. I ordered fish and chips, cooked perfect, not to much batter. Light and fresh, not greasy. The lobster rolls are made with all claw meat, beware no tail or knuckle meat, bun was toasted perfectly. I'd go back for sure. read more

Hi I was at local 02045 yesterday, they were extremely busy as I was blown away by a wedding that they put on. It was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. It was extremely busy but I am amazed as I watched the staff pull off a wedding pull off tables pull off people just standing there waiting to be seated with patience and they were the kindest employees I've ever met in a long time to deal with some people who were slightly a little agitated about waiting. I've worked in this industry and I understand what a kitchen is like in the summertime so kudos to local 02045. I am telling everyone to go down and enjoy yourselves on the water it's beautiful and thank you for my service I only had to wait 25 minutes but I would've waited three hours. Second time to this restaurant. First time was nice. We were a party of five seated upon arrival. It took 18 minutes before our waitress came to our table and that was after we spoke with the host. Someone came with water and took a drink order and apologized for the delay. Our waitress came 10 minutes later but with only some of the drinks. Then she took our food order. Waitress ignored our requests to come over to our table for the other drinks. One person in our party went to the host a second time for help. Food servers had to ask waitress to get missing drink after she continued to ignore us. Drinks were good. Food was fair. When you order shrimp on a salad, you expect it grilled, not chilled like shrimp cocktail. Service was horrible. Will not return. read more

The experience I had over Labor Day weekend with this restaurant was quite disappointing. The GM who wouldn't give us her name and told the staff not to give us her name was rude and screamed in my face like I was a child . When I asked her Politely not to yell at me ... she got louder . LISA POWERS come to find out what her name was , was extremely rude and belittling . As someone who has family in HULL MA we will not be returning . This was all over a table that we slid over to use ... When she could have easily just asked us for the table and said we need it for another family or whatever the case may have been. I'm disgusted someone would even speak to another human the way she did . She should NOT be in the restaurant business let alone round people . I will no longer be returning to one of my favorite restaurants . I've seen this woman in action before with others .... I finally got a taste of her nasty personality myself . Was really excited to try this place out after hearing great things. Came here today with a friend and asked for a seat outside since it didn't look too busy out there. Our hostess told us there is actually a seat and she would be right back. A guy from the inside proceeds to cut me in line and gets seated before me and my friend by the other hostess. I tell the other girl what happened when she got back and she looked confused and told me it would be 25-30 minutes for an outdoor seat. Didn't you just tell me there was one out there for us? Seemed very disorganized, no one was apologetic either, should have left and went somewhere else. Views are stellar. It's out on the tippy tip of Hull, so you best believe a second or third floor window seat will be waterrific! The rest of the experience, howe'er, was lackluster. Fried cheese is pulled from a freezer, which is fine, but not for $13. My $24 lobster club was 1/2-2/3 of a chick lobster salad, dry bacon bits, and lettuce/tomato, each in its own layer betwixt a total of four pieces of white bread. Lemme break this down for you: bread, lobster, bread, bacon bit graveyard, bread, lettuce and tomato, bread. The bits spill out everywhere, the lobster is decent quality but way under-represented, and the veg just sits there without any accompanying spread. It's cough-inducingly dry, especially with four tiers of plain grain white bread. She was mezze-mezze on her burger. Net net: one starter, two entrees (one being a $14 burg), and two American pale lagers each broke the $100 mark. For a Hull beachside eatery. Three stars easy with our friendly service and passable chow, if only the bill were half what it was. They had a DJ setup, so come get your grind on with DJ Bacon Bits All Over My Plate. read more

My boyfriend and I went in on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. We had the pretzel and the garlic parm chicken tenders. Both were really good! Loved the beer cheese for the pretzel. Our bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The scenery was amazing. Can't beat overlooking the ocean!! Prices are reasonable, and the food that was coming out looked tasty. Referring to Ashley B review : I was a patron at the bar when all of this occurred. The group in question that made the review was actually a disturbance to the entire restaurant. Yes the manager did get loud but, that was because she asked this group to leave more than 20 times there were multiple people screaming at her and swearing at her and threatening to call attorneys and cause more problems. We did see three police cars that were here shortly after this not sure if it was related to them but assumed the police were called on them since they disturbed the entire restaurant this is my point of view as a patron at the bar on a date and had to witness this I've never seen a group of adults behave like this before read more

Went there for first time with my family visiting from Atlanta, my brother in law owns 9 Restaurants in Atlanta and if anyone knows food it's him. It's was unbelievable! It was nice to be sitting at a bar again. The view is great. The food was just average. It is also WAY TOO NOISY there. They have nothing to absorb the sound and they were playing loud music thru their speakers. Everyone was talking loudly to speak up over the music. When nearby loud people left and they turned down the music a little, we decided to stay. I got the shrimp scampi. It was LOADED with a heavy cheese sauce. I love cheese, but I could only eat 1/4 of it...much too rich. I took home the leftovers and added skim milk and it was still too rich. They need to lighten the sauce. If a person who LOVES cheese says it's too rich, it will be for anyone. Like other things there, too much isn't always the best way to go! My BF had a hamburger. He said it was "ok." It was dry. Not a fan. I tried to schedule a work event with this place and the woman was not the friendliest over the phone. She took my info, said she call me back after she talked to her boss, and then I never heard from her again. I'm not overly shocked based off of how she was on the phone, still rude nonetheless. Great place, great food and the best view. Decided to check the place out with some friends and aside from a bit of a wait. Which was expected, we loved it. There was an entitled woman there with friends who was upset she had to wait and caused a ruckus but the staff handled it well even after being brought to tears. Some people just can't help themselves so when she posts a bad review, remember the staffs side of the story. Reasonable prices and the mermaid drink is the bomb.
