I had a small damage on my windshield from a pebble or something on the freeway back in Dec 2024…read more It was way up on high, behind the rearview mirror and not in my field of vision so it didn't bother me at all. I filed a claim with my insurance and booked an appointment with Safelite. Turns out that it takes between 3-4 hours to get the windshield replaced for my car and it has to be done onsite. I wanted to get it done but we also had a long road trip coming up, so I decided to keep the damaged windshield in case there were going to be more damages on the windshield on the road trip. So I pushed out the Safelite appointment out one month. Due to life getting busy and my cracked windshield not bothering me, here we are in June and I still have a cracked windshield. Then... I washed my car at home and the crack got bigger - likely due to washing the car with cold water on a hot day! So in June, I kept my appointment with Safelite. I had the 8am appointment but got there late. Yes, I know I sound very reliable. Haha. Michael W was my technician and he was great. I apologize for being late but he was polite about it. There is a texting notification system and that worked great. The waiting area is nice with vending machine, coffee station, chairs and WiFi. I walked over to Costco to kill some time. Shopped for the non-perishables, left the cart in an aisle and went back to pick up the car. My car was done at noon - 3.5 hours which is great! Part of me wonders if it would have been completed under 3.5 hours if I dropped off the car on time at 8am. So pleased with the process! It's been only 2 days but the windshield is great so far. Michael W. is great! I highly recommend Safelite on Monument!

ETA on 6/1/26: This issue is ongoing. I am happy to revise my rating if Safelite resolves this…read moreserious problem. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what is important is taking responsibility for those errors and conducting business in an honest fashion. ETA on 5/18/26: I am working with Safelite in the hopes of resolving this. I will update my review if resolution is successful. Original: Safelite damaged a critical part of the ADAS on my vehicle. It will cost over $3k to fix. It took three appointments and over a month and a half for Safelite to finally obtain the correct glass for my car. This is because my car is an E400, but Safelite categorized it as an E550 and were obstinate about ordering E550 glass, regardless of photographs of the car showing it is clearly an E400. "Dario" from the front desk kept pawning responsibility off to others, while "Irma" from the front desk condescendingly told me that I must have inputted the wrong VIN when scheduling the appointment. Meanwhile, a third woman at the front desk assured me my deductible wouldn't be charged until the correct glass was found. Instead, they charged my credit card twice: once for my first failed appointment in March, and then again at the end of April when the correct glass was finally obtained. (They then reversed the second charge.) Before Safelite touched my car, the only issue was a crack. But once they replaced the glass, the ADAS system went offline. They told me the calibration was a success. After the ADAS error lights failed to go away, I took the car back to Safelite for them to recalibrate the system. After an hour and a hushed conversation between the tech and Dario, Dario told me how proud they were of themselves for getting me the correct glass! But... oh yeah, we can't do the recalibration, so you'll have to go somewhere else. He blamed a third-party provider for the issue. Dario told me to sign liability release paperwork which he explained would prove to the insurance company that Safelite could not perform the job, and therefore I would be free to take it to the dealer or another shop authorized to do the recalibration. I asked for a copy of the paperwork but he was reluctant to give it to me. After multiple requests, I finally got a copy. Safelite then charged my insurance company twice for the failed recalibration. They did not send the insurance company the paperwork admitting they had failed the recalibration. I sent my insurance company the paperwork which Dario had been reluctant to give me so that they would allow me to seek correction elsewhere. The shop that is now working on my car discovered that the failure in the ADAS is that the forward-facing camera in the windshield is broken. It was operational before I took my car to Safelite, and now it is broken. Draw your own conclusions. In order for the ADAS to work properly, this expensive camera must be replaced. Safelite would have been able to see this on the error codes when they attempted the second recalibration. Instead, they blamed a third-party, saying the "system" was overloaded that day. (If just that day, why wouldn't they have suggested coming back another day instead of telling me to go elsewhere?) Again, draw your own conclusions!
