"The Local Burger" - Local Burger's Signature Burger with grass fed beef from the Chicome Family Farm and all the toppings!
Wally N.

I was visiting Keene, NH for the first time with a friend who grew up in the area, and when it came time to pause our adventures through the town for lunch, my friend's top recommendation for a quick and super filling lunch was the Local Burger! In addition to food, I was also seeking an authentic local experience, and with a name like "Local Burger" how could I go wrong? It was a wonderfully sunny day outside, and the dining area was bright, colorful and vibrant. Many of the tables had fun diner/bar stool seating that was reminiscent of burger joints of the past with the enjoyable amenity of being able to spin a little in your seat while chatting over the meal. I enjoyed the humorous burger-themed art on the walls and the retro-decor of the establishment. It was a quieter weekday afternoon, and service was very quick, friendly, and professional. Of course I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try the "Local Burger, Local Burger's Signature Burger" and I paired it with their grass fed beef offering (for a slight additional charge), a side of fries, and a fudge brownie milkshake! When the food arrived the burger was piled high and was balanced delightfully in the center of a paper lined basket again on brand with the retro aesthetic. All of the food was very tasty! I left feeling exceptionally stuffed and satisfied. In addition to the delicious food, I appreciated that there were a variety of options for burger construction (ranging from the tasty Grass Fed Beef that I tried to Turkey and Veggie burgers) and that most all of the ingredients were sourced from local farmers, suppliers, or vendors - and that made the meal feel authentically "local". From what I'd gathered, the business has been operational for over a decade now, which is pretty cool street cred to have too. It was exactly the meal that I was looking for that afternoon, and I would definitely go back for another burger if I was in the area. Thanks again! :)

Heavy water stains, actual all over the ceiling, this is just the section that looked like it might fall in

Very disappointed. This has been a staple in Keene for years, unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's been kept up during that time. The food was ok, but pricey ($50 for 2 kids and 1 adult to each get a burger or chicken nuggets, share a small fries, and get a fountain drink or milkshake) the atmosphere is just...lacking. Long wait for food, but it is cooked fresh, so you should expect that. The floor looks like it's never been cleaned (I'm sure it has, but the dirt is so ground in that it's just forever stained. Cobwebs on the windows (and it wasn't Halloween) Ceiling tiles are all water stained with some bowing in. Tables are bus yourself, but remain uncleaned as there's no one to wipe them down. Some of this I can forgive, but this seems consistent with some older reviews which means that they just don't care. Sloppy housekeeping in the dining area makes me question the cleanliness elsewhere.

Fast and the very definition of a greasy burger joint. It is exactly what it says it is with fresh burgers and fries made to order. Staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that there was too much of everything. Too much bbq sauce and coleslaw on the barnyard. Too much buffalo sauce on the buffalo fries, etc. but that's not a horrible thing. Suggest if you go to ask them to put all the ingredients on the side - so the bun doesn't get soggy. But overall, just what you'd expect!

So excited for a juicy Lucy cheesy burger, even if it was labeled as a 15 min wait. As you can see ut was pretty much 3 patties smoothed together with some cheese in middle...tasted like a cheese burger nothing special...a bit disappointed The sweet potato fries were spot on!

Farmhouse Turkey Burger & small fries

We came to Keene for a week long vacation from Las Vegas, NV. Our first night in town we were starving & decided to get burgers from Local Burger. The gentleman behind the counter was super busy delivering food to tables & making drinks but acknowledged me twice while I waited patiently to place my order. The wait was worth it, the burgers were absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection, juicy and oh so flavorful! The maple mayo on the farmhouse turkey is my new favorite condiment. The hand cut fries with seasoning were perfectly crispy without being too crunchy. We decided to sit outside in the warm evening breeze and it was perfect. We're here for a week & will probably be going back because it was just that good!

Staff was decent but food was not. Got the meatloaf burger special and pb&j burger. Meat was low quality in my opinion and not the quality I assumed a burger place would do. There was not much flavor to the sandwiches. Small in size for the $10 price tag. Sides come extra. Got regular fries small pieces and over cooked and sweet fries not crisp at all.

All of the food I have ordered there has been great. Some of the portions are crazy big and the prices are not cheap.

Yeah...NO! WAY overpriced. Bring back Armadillo's! The fries are better at Fritz. The burger was okay...but not worth the cost.

There have been many times where I've tried restaurants that had a lot of stars, but the local people are just inflating the reviews. - this is not one of those places. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. The speakeasy vibe even adds to the ambience. The drinks are strong yet not too strong. This restaurant is so good that I am now planning a trip with my wife and my friends to come back up to this area to ski just so I can bring them here and have their mind blown with how great the food is here. if there was an option to give six stars, I would!

Third time I stopped in I had dinner. The bartenders and wait staff dress in 20's attire and the place has that prohibition feel to it. They make high-end cocktails but I usually stick with a gin and tonic. The menu is limited but the meal portion was generous. I had the chicken fried chicken. It was a huge piece of breaded chicken over mashed potatoes and asparagus topped with a traditional white gravy. Very tasty. We've added this establishment to our rotation when we visit Keene.

Bartender didn't impress. Not sure he was experienced. Give away was putting olives on martini containing grapefruit juice, not mention an even number of olives (bad luck). The menus were fancy and I ordered a shaved roast beef sandwich with au jus. Shaved roast beef was on par with Steak-umms. French fries were your typical bagged fries. All in all it was ok at best. Was hoping for a little more given the quality of the other restaurants in the area.

My partner had the short rib ravioli which was also excellent. We are whiskey/bourbon drinkers and the one thing that whiskey/burboun drinkers like in their old fashioned type drinks are single, large ice rocks and not the little broken ice chips that easily dilutes your drink. These are so easy to make yourself. Just buy an ice tray that makes them. The other thing whiskey/bourbon drinkers like in their drinks are the bourbon cherries and not just the plain maraschino cherries. Just two easy recommendations to elavate the experience. The staff was also very friendly.

Upon arrival (be warned, gps will take you weird way through back lots, bit you will get there) was impressed by the beautiful historical structure it is housed in. Theres a lovely outdoor eating area, and plenty of indoor dining in various types of rooms, and a bar area. We opted for indoor dining, was seated in the main dining area. Its a beautiful space with restored wood work and craft beer decor. They brew their own beer. I had the Bird NEIPA, probably the smoothest IPA i have ever tasted. Loved it. Apps: OUTSTANDING! the spinach artichoke dip I guarantee is better than any you have ever had, anywhere. The bagel chips with everything seasoning compliments the dip perfectly. We also had the sweet potato corn jalapeño soup. Creamy, flavorful with the perfect spicy finish. Dinner: Took forever to get to us. Almost an hour from when we ordered. At 45 minutes our server said he dropped one of our meals, so he asked kitchen to make 2 new ones..so one wasn't just sitting under heat lamp. Very much appreciated, but even still..it should not have taken that long. My meal was ok. Peach BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, there wasn't much chicken. The bun was barely toasted, and not a broiche as advertised. Just a regular burger bun. So i couldnt hold the sandwich up without it drooping. I ate with fork, it was fine. Just a bit disappointed. The NY Strip however, was melt in your mouth good, the demi glaze sauce was amazing too. Would definitely come back here if ever in area again. It was that good, even with the bad timing. So many other menu items i would love to try
