Came here on a whim so it was my first time here. They have weekly special cookies. I ended up getting on called the magic- which had like graham crackers, chocolate and Carmel with some sweet drizzle. It was delicious. A single cookie itself is a good size. I've been around here a time or two over the past few months. I like supporting them versus the big chain cookie shops. Along with cookies they offer ice cream options and mixed sodas too which is great! The employees have usually been nice, once I went about 45 min before close and the worker was less than happy to be there. I can understand that though. Sometimes there is a line, but there's usually only one or two people there. I think they usually have music playing, but not at all loud. I was hesitant about the one with the apple on top and I did ask if there was another option because it appeared to be over cooked a bit, since they are done in batches they all looked the same. It was more crunchy on the outside than I usually like, but the inside was soft and a delicious flavor. The cheesecake ones with the jam are my favorite flavor they have offered. The chocolate sandwich cookie is also a very good classic that is offered all of the time as long as the weekly changing flavors. We usually like to come by after a Costco trip. read more

Such a cute local cookie shop with the friendliest workers! Because it was our first visit they offered us a drink or cookie on the house. I picked a drink since we've never tried the flavor combos Utah is known for. Since we already had cookies we didn't want anything too sweet so we picked one of the waters which was nice, fruity and light. The cookies were delicious but a bit hard compared to other places and a tad on the sweet side. We arrived just as they were getting ready to open the doors. The owners were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. They were thorough with their explanation of each of the cookies and gave us the option to pick 4 of our favorites. They all looked so good, it was hard to narrow it down to just 4. We chose the Oatmeal Sandwich Cookie, the Cinnamon Coffee Cake Crumble, the Mint Chocolate, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate. Attention all you cookie addicts! There's a new dealer in town, and this one has the good stuff. If you're not already an addict, watch yourself, because you very easily could become one. Last night, my wife and I strolled in for an after-dinner treat and found more than we had anticipated. We were cheerfully greeted by who we later learned to be Todd, the owner. He was warm and welcoming and gave us the run down of the classic choices as well as the weekly specials. We ended up taking home six different cookies-it was hard to just pick a couple. There are two chocolate chip options-milk chocolate and semi sweet. Todd explained that most people think they will prefer the milk chocolate, but it's the semi-sweet that keep people coming back. I tried them both, and, well....I ate them both happily. The flavor of each of them was great-I don't know that I have a preference on one over the other in regards to taste. But the texture of the milk chocolate cookie was more appealing to me. I'm not sure if other ingredients vary beyond the chocolate chip itself, but something was different. The sugar cookie is a robust beast with a buttercream frosting-without almond flavoring. Todd told us that they prefer to stick with the traditional frosting since so many other bakeries are doing the almond. I agree, it can be a bit over done. The cookie sandwich is a behemoth. It's two massive chocolate cookies flanking a cream cheese frosting. If you've got a chocolate craving, this guy will satisfy it. I'd love to report on the s'mores cookie, but that one was devoured in the car before we got home...I'm told that it is rich and sm'orgasmic. Based on the sounds I was hearing while it was being consumed, I'll believe that to be true. I'm thrilled to support this great local business. All cookies are made on site and because the store has an open air floor plan you can actually see the cookies being made. Wow, this was a first-class experience from start to finish. I love cookies of all shapes, types, and sizes, and I made a beeline when I saw a cookie shop. I'm so happy I did. I was warmly greeted with a huge smile and the type of enthusiasm that's usually reserved for old friends. I have never felt more welcome in a retail establishment in my life. I explained this was my first time in, and the very kind woman behind the counter gave me a brief tutorial about the cookies, the flavors, and the overwhelming menu of specialty sodas (they serve the infamous "dirty" sodas that are so beloved in Utah). I decided to select a box of 4 cookies to try the different flavors. Local offers rotating flavors, so you'll always get something new to try every week. I was excited that they have chocolate chip cookies that have either milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips, and the flavors all sounded appetizing. I got a ginger cookie with cream cheese frosting, an eggnog snickerdoodle, a cookie butter chip, and a semi-sweet chocolate chip. Since I had mentioned it was my first time in, I was given a complimentary chocolate sandwich cookie (basically resembled a huge homade oreo cookie). I took the box of cookies back to my condo to enjoy later that night. I did slightly reheat them in the microwave for a few seconds since they got super cold in the car (it's snow season in Utah, after all)! These cookies were DELICIOUS. I usually go to Crumbl because it's close to my house back in Las Vegas, but Local will be my new cookie stop whenever I'm in Utah! I loved their freshness, but also the flavor. The cookies aren't super sweet, which is a nice change from other cookie establishments. The semi-sweet chocolate chip had an especially "grown up" flavor, and the ginger cookie was packed with spicy ginger, reminding me of the most pungent (in a good way!) lebkuchen that I've enjoyed at the Christmas markets in Germany. The cookie-butter chip was the sweetest and the most average cookie in my box. The chocolate chip was tasty, but forgettable. The biggest surprise was the chocolate sandwich cookie, which was an unexpected favorite. The eggnog snickerdoodle was by far the worst of the bunch. I don't know what I was thinking when I selected that cookie. The best cookie in the box was the ginger, but pretty much any type of baked good with ginger in it will always be the one I want to eat first. I can't rave enough about the customer service here, either. This is the type of friendly helpfulness that guarantees repeat customers. I really loved Local Cookie Co. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and so glad I did! It smells heavenly when you walk in. It looks like they have a lot of drink selections -but we just got cookies. They had about 10 different cookies types available, including some seasonal ones like egg nog. You can buy individual or 6 or a dozen (or more). We were helped immediately, staff was friendly and helpful being our first time in. We got a dozen cookies and they gave us a free one since it was our fist time in! Then while we were waiting for our cookies, the manager or maybe owner came and was talking with us and when he heard it was my daughter's birthday gave us another free birthday cookie! I'm not into very sweet cookies, or the overly chewy kinds. This is a matter of preference. Hence my 4 star rating. But if you are into sweeter cookies (like their competition) and chewy ones.. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I found them less sweet than the competition and just as flavorful. The taste was very good, and it gave me the right energy sugar rush that you need during a mid day work day.
