Beardalls is so yummy! I've been here a few tines and everything I've tried I've enjoyed. (Cookies, bread, cinnamon roll, donuts, crobars! -their version of a croutons but in bar form.) They have a giant selection of various goodies. They even have homemade candy, jalapeño and cheese rolls/bread, cakes, cupcakes, danishes, loaves of bread, key lime cookies... so much variety. It is the only bakery that reminds me of the now gone Roger's bakery that was once inside Reams in Magna. The shop is cute, and the employees are nice. They get busy on weekends so go early! I am honestly so disappointed because when they are not old and stale they are pretty good and a fair price. If you go, the fruit tarts and cookies are consistently good. This is my favorite indulgence. I come here for the delicious breads, donuts, and rolls. I will go out to Magna just to pick up a few croissants to use for chicken or tuna salad sandwiches. The specialty breads, such as pumpkin bread with chocolate chips is amazing. Thanksgiving would not be the same without their rolls and several pies for our dessert hour after playing Bingo. Certainty one of the better bakeries around. But one of my favorite doughnuts of all time is the Maple Bar and Beardalls does not have the best. I am looking for a good amount of frosting on that maple bar and they just don't have it. The other local bakery at one time a great amount but also has skimpy amounts. If I am craving the Maple I myself will travel further into west valley to find one that will please my palate. I do love the sausage kolaches deliciousness wrapped in a warm blanket of sweetness. Helloooooooo!!!!!! So here I am, I'm driving through main street in Magna, and bam!!! A little hole in the wall bakery. Wow is all I can say, this place is so legit. They have some of the best pastries I have ever had. There Bismarck custard filled doughnut, is off the chain. The apple fritter is so yummy and just perfectly cooked.... There maple bars are amazing also, so far these are the doughnuts I have been able to try. There is something for everyone. The jalapeño cheddar kolache, is amazing and the sausage the use is perfect. The bread that is wrapped around this piece of heaven is terrific. They greet you as you walk in with a smile and are the most friendly people ever. They make conversation and ask how you are and have manners. This place is great. I'm glad that there are still old school places around. read more

What an unexpected bakery find on Main Street Magna! The inside of the store is pretty no frills, but the pastries make up for it! We got half a dozen but should have gotten a full dozen! Also enjoyed the savory pastries- the sausage kolache and the ham and cheese croissant. read more

This is the bakery you've been nostalgic for. Real bakers making real donuts and breads. Also, with the way that SLC sprawls now, Magna is way closer than you think. In fact...if you ride Mountain View Corridor home during any traffic, do this instead: jump on 201 west, head into Magna, stop at Beardall's (check the hours...closes at 2pm), and then take 111 south and connect back to MVC around 62nd or so. It'll save you time, it's a much better ride, and you miiiight have donuts. If they're closed, swing by Colosimo (closes at 5) and get some sausages. All of this is 100 better than the ridic traffic light nonsense on MVC. I will note that I'd love to see a much choppier/rougher fritter. The more chops, the better! read more

The Salt Lake Valley has a lot going for it: stunning scenery, easy access to the Great Outdoors, and a burgeoning (yet still affordable) cityscape. I could go on, but there's one glaring issue: a dire lack of traditional donut shops. Why does every donut place here think it's cool to slap frosted flakes on a maple bar? I think Utah just got industrialized 5 years ago, but the donut shops are trying too hard to be ahead of the times. We're drowning in a sea of fancy concoctions when all I want is a simple, no-frills glazed donut. I grew up next to a donut shop that doubled as a burger joint in the evenings. I don't think they even changed the oil after cooking fries, and those donuts were GLORIOUS. Bring back the Blue Collar Donut So, I get a craving for a donut and head over to Fresh Donuts, only to find out they're closed for two weeks. Who thought this acceptable? You might be summering in the Hamptons, but my taste buds are not. I'm convinced Fresh Donuts' national ranking at #26 is a paid shill and my life's work will be to expose this. I pout my way back to the car and start Googling, and every place in the Salt Lake Valley is some bougie donut shop, and your boy just wants a good old glazed. I finally stumble upon Beardall Bakery, and let me tell you, when Brigham Young declared this land Zion, I think he was specifically talking about 8963 W Magna Main St, Magna, UT 84044 because I think I died and went to Heaven. I put the address in my phone and started heading West & forgot the rest Any place sandwiched between a biker bar and a nightclub is taking no prisoners. It takes some major vivacity to serve up cream-filled long johns between peak homoerotic culture (the biker bar, to avoid confusion) and a nightclub in a place called Magna, Utah. The sweet lady there agreed with me on the state of donuts in 2024, then gave me tips on how to make a proper peach cobbler, and I didn't even ask. I don't even like peach cobbler, but it's my new favorite dessert. I said, "I haven't been here, I just want a glazed donut," and she said, "Here honey, have 2 glazed donuts and I'll pick the rest." You know how much you have to believe in yourself to force 4 extra donuts on someone and then also include a cinnamon roll? The answer is a lot. You, reader, do not have this much confidence about anything in life as this lady has about her donuts. And you don't deserve to, but she does. I have a strict no eating in the car rule, but broke it immediately upon sitting down and downed a chocolate bar in about a bite and a half and needed a cigarette after (I don't even smoke). I started looking at the cost of homes in Magna IMMEDIATELY. I just put an offer in on a home 30 minutes ago and just had this donut an hour ago. I WILL perfect a peach cobbler just to honor this woman. This is a 5 star donut that takes you back to simpler times, but there was a vast selection of other desserts like pull apart bread, scones, muffins, and cheesecakes. I went in planning on getting just a couple donuts, and left with a both full of an assortment of goods. Out of everything we tried , our top 3 were: apple fritter, old fashioned blueberry, and chocolate cake. Though everything else was still very good. I had to pick something up allll the way out here in Magna (okay, it's not THAT far), so a week beforehand I did some Yelping to see what sorts of fun little shops might reside in the area. Having never been to Magna previously, I didn't know that, well....there's not a whole lot here. In fact, I found nothing tempting. One of my standard searches are for bakeries, and a few hours before I left, I tried once more, and Beardall's popped up! It looked so cute, and I wondered how I could have missed it, but with just one review and about as many pictures, I discovered it had only officially opened that day. Get it, Yelpers! They are located on this cutie lil' "downtown" main street. The area is a bit dated and dingy, but clearly in the process of reinvigoration. I think in a few years this spot could really shine, and Beardall's is a big part of that! Parking is available along the road, but it was not busy, and I cannot imagine it often is, so should be sufficient. From the exterior, the windows appeared quite dark (enough that I questioned if they were open), so do not let that deter you. Inside, the high ceilings and light-colored walls really make the space feel large and open, though it is not that big. There is a wooden bar and bench along one wall where you could stay to eat, but other than that it is a take-it-to-go sort of situation. They were already assisting a few customers, but as soon as I walked in I was cheerfully greeted by Jane. I took a few moments to look over the cases, and then let her know what caught my eye. Peep the photo of my box to see the bounty. I favor chocolate, so got one of most anything containing that best-of-all-flavors, plus a couple fun extras. My absolute favorite treat was my cupcake. They had either vanilla or chocolate; I opted for the latter, of course. It featured more frosting than cake (Yes! Doin' it right!), and it is whipped and light, but with enough heft that it held up over an hour in the car, even without the AC at times. I found it just mildly chocolatey, but balanced to the richness of the moist, medium-crumbed cake. I don't really do vanilla cake, but the excellent texture of the two components here convinced me that I'd like to try their version. The éclairs are medium-sized, with a sweet custardy Bavarian filling (not always my favorite, but they do it well). The slick of chocolate frosting is rich and gooey, literally and figuratively the icing on top. I am not one to get excited about donuts, but their small chocolate-iced cake variety was a sleeper hit! The icing featured is the same excellent rendition as the éclair, the donut crazy moist, even toward the end of the day. We also enjoyed the fried (!!) cinnamon roll, apple fritter, brownie, and frangipane. In addition to my selected goodies, they offer full size cakes (on this visit, one each of a basic chocolate and vanilla were available in the case, but you can also pre-order in additional flavors), cookies, cream puffs, napoleans, turnovers, bagels, myriad donuts, and various breads and rolls. Bottled beverages are available in a cooler. Prices range about $1-$2 each, so this is a real steal for some well-prepared, homemade style goodies. I don't know when I'll be back in Magna, but you best believe whenever that happens I'll be stopping by charming Beardall's! read more

My wife and I were visiting Utah when she randomly found this bakery with high ratings. The workers were so friendly and you can tell there was passion in the baking. We were shocked by the selections, there were so many and everything looked delicious! I thought prices were more than reasonable and I wish we could have ordered one of everything. We were never pressured to finish our order and we were made to feel like we were long time customers. An Amazing Little Bakery in Magna, Utah? Absolutely! So my business frequently draws me to Magna Main Street where I've been hearing about this little bakery. I have ventured a visit on a few occasions, where the heavenly scents have nearly laid waste to my desire to attempt to maintain a semblance of healthy eating habits. Luckily for my waistline, the lines have helped maintain my will power, that is until this Saturday morning. I woke up and said to my girl, we are going to go down to this little bakery I've been wanting to try in Magna, indulge in sweets for breakfast today. Oh, And it was definitely worth the drive, and the carbs! Hands down the best macaroons we have ever had! The fruit tart was incredible! Since I was a child, I always enjoyed a cream filled horn and this one was superb! The doughnut was exactly what you would expect it to be. And the brownie, well when compared to the other baked delights was a little lack luster.
