The person who responded to our call told my wife our motor was not working properly and needed replacement. We took his word. The person said we needed an updated pad for outside. I originally contacted Local Garage Doors in January 2022 as well as two other companies in an effort to replace my residential garage doors. The tech who originally arrived to provide a bid was generally courteous and informative. I eventually chose to hire Local Garage Door Company [LGDC] to install new doors for the house. That was a very bad decision. The doors were not in stock for approximately 10 months. Friends and neighbors who hired other garage door companies had their doors in stock, installed and functioning within a few months, several months before mine arrived and were installed. As part of the original bid process, the LGDC rep presented me with the option of a Lifestyle Screen. What he did not discuss with me was the clearance requirements for the screen system which take up quite a bit of space. Fast forward 10 long months when my doors are finally in stock and ready to be installed. The techs who arrived were courteous. However, when they removed my old garage door system, they left a nail in the header board which severely scratched the new door after it was installed. Additionally, they installed the tracks for one of the doors too narrowly and within 2 months the door was making noise and not closing properly. I had to hire a different company to come out and adjust the tracks. They also left several (at least a half dozen) large shipping staples and small lag bolts (wood screws that are sharp on the end) across my garage floor. Thankfully I ran a floor magnet across my garage floor before I put my vehicles back in the garage and saved myself the cost of several flat tires. When they installed the doors (improperly) they also told me that they had forgot or did not have the screen system I had ordered. However one of the techs on site advised me that the screen system would require me to remove some mounted permanent fixtures on my garage wall (retracting extension cord system) to be installed. Based on the configuration of my garage, I have no other feasible location for that permanent fixture and advised the company that I did not want to move forward with the screening system. The owner and I attempted to communicate several times, but eventually that effort dropped off. They also never installed the vinyl trim pieces for my doors, because they forgot those too. They eventually sent one of the techs out to the house to look at the fixture that I did not want to remove from the garage wall. The same guy who had been courteous during the install, accepted my tip and a cold beer I gave him was rude and short with me. I was suddenly the bad guy because he and his colleagues had screwed up my house. In short, I do NOT recommend this company. While the pandemic presumptively played a roll in the delay of the doors, the communication was not good. Also, the tech who initially bid the doors and screen system failed to explain the clearance requirements for the screens. When I was finally advised of those requirements, and I explained that removing permanent fixtures within the garage was not an option I was told I had to pay for the system regardless as they had ordered it for the house. Overall the installation was sloppy, leaving large copper staples and wood screws / lag bolts all over my garage floor which would have punctured my tires had I not cleaned them up. They left a large nail in the header board which scraped the brand new door badly. Had I not been scheduled to have the doors painted, I would have been stuck with a 1/4" wide x 18" long scrape on the top two panels of the door which would eventually likely pierced the exterior of the door. Thankfully my painter found the nail and removed it, he was also able to spray the door with a few coats of primer before he applied the final coat and 'fix' LGDC's screw up. I hired a different company to come out when the expensive brand new door would not close. He pointed out and I was able to see (and I have pictures) that LGDC had installed the tracks too narrowly at the end and the door was pinching, forcing the door to bind on itself. Additionally the door itself was not level. He had to remove the tension from the door, reinstall it properly and then reprogram the opener. I am really disappointed with my experience with this company. The communication was terrible. The quality of the install was sloppy and the demeanor and attitude of the staff when issues arose were deplorable. Save your money. Shop elsewhere. Hire a garage door company that actually communicates, cleans up their mess and installs a door that is level. I would give them zero stars if that were an option. read more

Tyler (owner) and Ben (technician) are amazing! The spring on my single-spring garage door broke late on a Thursday evening. I used YELP to request a quote at 10:46 PM and heard back from all 6 folks immediately! Are you kidding me? Don't any of you sleep?? Tyler got the job because he told me he'd have Ben at my house between 8 and 10AM the next morning. This was crucial because I couldn't open the door and my car was stuck inside the garage. Ben came out - replaced the spring and showed me how the rollers were ruined when the door came crashing down. He replaced those too plus was able to reinforce the metal support bar where the opener ripped away from (and tore a hole in) the metal. Yes, it was a spectacular and dramatic break and crash. :) Anyway, Ben fixed all of the smashed metal, bent corners, ripped metal and warped rollers. He oiled the opener and everything else too. I now have a 5 year warranty! I'm also thinking of replacing door opener soon - Ben was super educational here too. Looking forward to using them when I'm ready for that next step. This company ripped me off. We have a three car garage our large garage door needed to be repaired because it was badly bent. This company said they could not fix the door and provide any guarantee. The service tech put together an order for a new door to match our existing door. They required a $1900 deposit fir the $3400 door. After 2 months of delays, the service tech finally shows up with our door. The wrong door. They ordered a five panel door and our existing door was a four panel door. So our two doors would not match. The company would not provide us a refund and tried to sell us a second small door to match the new wrong door for $2000.
