Our garage door motor decided to stop working on a Friday. Local Garage Doors was able to come out on the weekend for no extra charge. The technician Gabriel was able to change out the motor and replace the track rollers that same day. Gabriel arrived at the scheduled time, he was knowledgable, friendly, and, he was able to get job done in a reasonable amount of time. Door works great now and no more loud noise from the rollers. Tyler was a gem! We've been working on getting a garage built for two years now and the contractor we hired abandoned our job. One problem we had to solve was the garage door. It was installed incorrectly so I found Local Garage Doors here on Yelp and requested a quote. I heard back the same day and scheduled a quote easily via text. When Tyler arrived (promptly) he saw right away that the spring the other contractor tried to install was way too big. I knew walking into this that it was going to be expensive. Frankly, garage doors can be lethal if you don't do things well and if you don't know exactly what you are doing. Tyler showed up and explained everything as he was going along. The one thing I didn't know was how to balance the door and it's not easy and you need the correct size springs. Right there would be several trips to Home Depot if you don't have the correct ones or even a combo of what is correct. So to me this was insurance. If I take the total amount, divid by the 10yr warranty, this was cheap! Now I can be away from home and my wife and girls will be safe. Hands down trustworthy, knows what they are doing and they will do it right the first time. They even fixed what the previous installer took shortcuts on. They offered to send a tech out immediately but I preferred to schedule an appointment. Kyle, there tech snowed up at the apartment time. He assessed the situation and let me know he had to make custom cable as my door was taller then normal or standard doors Kyle was great and very knowledgeable and professional. The job was done professionally and they came quickly, but at a steep price. I was also a bit surprised when the bill popped up and other charges were added without prior notice. Their communication could be better, but the guys were very polite. $750 to repair and close a "stage 4" broken garage door which would then be unusable and need replacing. Pro: just know that they do respond during weekends, they arrived in 2 hours. Cons: Exorbitant price. I asked around and other contractors said they could have replaced the track instead of the coil. Think about it, if you don't change the track, you will have problems down the road. And other contractors have that included in their quotes but not this company. Remember to shop around and there could be more trusted companies out there! I am giving neither a positive nor negative review as they gave me a partial refund. I legally can't say much more about that. I think this may explain the lack of negative reviews this business has. read more

Our garage door had somehow broken completely recently. On a Saturday of course and when we had company. He called Local Garage Doors and they said they would come out that day and gave us a 3 hour window. They came early and within less than an hour they had the door completely fixed and at a reasonable price. And yes they gave us an estimate first. Local Garage Doors sent a technician to my house within a few hours after I called. The technician was knowledgeable and quickly repaired my door. The repair was expensive, but really no more than I expected for prompt results. The technician stated that my door was a safety hazard, and recommended we keep our cars outside until it could be replaced. He quoted me a price for a new door, which he admitted was higher than quotes I would probably receive from other companies, but Local could instal a new door within a matter of days, whereas other companies probably couldn't. Everything he said turned out to be true, including the condition of my door, which was confirmed by other companies. Blaine came out, was very professional and informative. Blaine immediately let me know that this was outside the scope of what his company can do since this was an issue created during the home construction process. He recommended a $5 - $10 spray sealant to from Lowes or Home Depot to seal the gaps left by the builder to prevent snakes, mice, etc... from coming in through the corner of the garage door. To my surprise, no charge for the visit, just plain old good customer service, something that is severely lacking today. Got my garage door replaced through them. Inspite of overpaying for everything, the guy didn't install a keypad and wanted me to pay for the keypad separately. He quoted 740$ dollars for the garage motor alone and when I quoted that it was available for 400$ in Costco he gave me a discount, just one remote and no keypad. Imagine that. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. I am now looking for a keypad by myself. Better look other places before calling them. read more
