I ate there a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to this review. I went with 3 friends and was able to be seated immediately upon arrival on a Friday on the patio. Taylor was our server and she was PHENOMENAL. from making us feel welcome to making us never want to leave, she had the best personality. She was prompt and checked on us many times to ensure we were enjoying our time. We ordered a couple cocktails, the blackberry mule (something like that haha) was great. I had 2! for dinner we had the spinach dip and steak nachos from the appetizer sections. The balsamic glaze on the nachos was my favorite part, just the right amount of tangy with savory. You walk in, and before you can even get your bearings, somebody's already pointing you toward a table like they've been expecting you all day. That's a good start. Now, the place had more noise than a family reunion after someone mentions politics--two teenage softball teams carrying on, laughing, living large. Hard to fault that. Better than silence so thick you can hear your own regrets. Food showed up quick, which is about all you can ask when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. And it was good--honest good. Not "tell your mama about it" good, but solid, dependable, "yep, I'd order that again" good. Prices didn't make you feel like you'd just financed somebody's boat, either. Beer was cold--like it ought to be, like it better be--and the waitress understood to be there exactly when we needed her and vanishing when we didn't. That's an art form. Now the atmosphere... well, it had all the charm of a place that once had big decorating plans and then decided, "Eh, this'll do." A little on the bare side. Felt like a Friday night that never quite got dressed up. But I'll tell you this--I'd go back. And that, right there, is about the highest praise you can give a place without writing a love letter to the chef. read more

This one will take a minute. I'm going to start with the food and then back up. We were told the fried deviled eggs were great so we ordered them for the table but were told they were out of them. 3 out of 4 of us ordered the fish and chips. The fourth ordered a burger that looked amazing!! I knew I was in trouble when they brought the food. I could smell the oil when the plate was placed in front of me. On the plus side, the food was piping hot. On the negative, it was a mess. The fish was so greasy that it squirted and they put the greasy fish on top of a pile of limp fries thus making them extra greasy. I was only able to eat one piece of fish. I always order water to drink because I do t drink sodas. I took a sip and almost spit it out. The water was horrible! So, I had to try to eat my greasy dinner with no beverage to wash it down. Now, let's go to the beginning. We called to see how long the wait would be. On the recording, we had to select option 2, make a reservation. We asked how long the wait was and was told 5 to 10 minutes. We asked if we could make a reservation and were told they don't take reservations. This was confusing considering the phone options. We arrived a few minutes later and were told it was about a 20 minute wait. So, in conclusion, it was a long wait for an inedible meal with undrinkable water. It was $60 (our ticket for 2)wasted. Oh, it gets better. I just got the receipt from my husband. We were charged for a coke and an iced tea. So, $8 for drinks we didn't even order! read more

Our first experience with Local Goat was in Sevierville, TN while visiting Gatlinburg. I had no idea they had a second location and when we stumbled across the Ooltewah location, we had to try it, since we enjoyed the one in East TN so much. We were not disappointed. My wife and I tend to share an appetizer and a main most times when we dine out. We started out with the stuffed piquillo peppers and they did not disappoint! If you are a fan of goat cheese you will love these too. The sweetness of the pepper with the tang of balsamic coupled with the smooth taste of the goat cheese is almost to die for! We then shared the Pimento burger with fries and those too were outstanding! The burger is not overwhelmingly big, but big enough for two to share. The fries were absolutely delish! The service was good as well. I don't remember anything over-the-top outstanding but these days, decent service might actually qualify as over-the-top relative to what you see at most establishments! (so sad) Definitely worth a try if you are in the Chattanooga area. read more

Sadly, I knew as soon as I saw them they weren't good. :( The steak was not seasoned at all and there was barely anything but the sweet sauce they put on it which I didn't love and chips. We went there for dinner on a Saturday night And had a truly good meal. I had the steak, my girlfriend had the pork chops. Service was prompt and drinks were filled quickly and the waitress that we had was very helpful with suggestions. It a drive from where we are in Chattanooga and Ooltewah, but not so far to not be worth it! Location is a little bit tricky, but trust the GPS and you'll find it! Went on for lunch in a Monday. Quickly seated and waited on as it was not terribly busy. Good selection of food and drinks. Pretty standard ambiance for this style restaurant. Sandwiches were messy, but very tasty. Fries were a bit limp and greasy, but still good. I prefer mine crispier. We asked for extra napkins due to the messy food and were given two cocktail napkins. I saw this place had high ratings while visiting the TN. Ordered the bbq chicken nachos and the spinach artichokes dip. Stale chips were the main feature for both dishes. Also ordered the wicked pasta substituted shrimp for chicken. We could tell the sausage was old coupled with tough old chicken was really disappointing. My family has always enjoyed eating at both locations of Local Goat. We enjoy the wide ranging menu and the philosophy of sourcing their food. We visited on Saturday afternoon (6/13), it was after the rush hour but was still mostly full. Our server must have been on the B team. Several dropped requests as well as forgetting basics. Other than that the food came out hot, tasting good and plenty of it. We'll continue to visit the Goats, but I hope service makes a come back. read more

So they close at 10 pm and we showed up road weary and hungry. They couldn't have been any nicer. We ordered and ate as quick as we could while they told us it was not a problem As they had to cleanup anyway. We had a couple cocktails. had a drink called the funky monkey which was amazing so I had another. lol We ordered A bunless burger cooked to order and locally sourced beef. Ribeye with cheese grits and spinach. Cooked to order and very tasty. The pork chop which was like 3 inches thick and wonderfully cooked with whipped sweet potatoes and coke slaw. I had the Elvis burger. Amazing. Burger with let, Tom , pickles, peanut butter, bacon and grilled banana. OMG. Soo good! Shoestring hand cut French fries came with it and well.... They were great! Pretty good food and great service. I lived here for a couple years but I never got the chance to try this place out. I got the Hot Honey Fried Chicken sandwich with fries and a side of coleslaw. I was really impressed by the size of my sandwich. The fried chicken was huge! The size of the fried chicken was about the size of my hand lol. That was really impressive. The chicken was crispy and tasty. On first bite, I wished that I had a special "hot chicken" sauce for the sandwich but as I got more into the burger I found it. I guess this is my preference but I really like sauce, so I wish the sandwich had more of that chicken sauce to compensate for the large piece. Fry size was interesting. They were skinny and smaller but I received a large portion. I liked them. Coleslaw was really good as well. For everything I got, I was impressed and I had leftovers. Service was friendly and nice. However I did ask for a hot water and when I got mine, it smelled and faintly tasted like burnt coffee so I didn't drink anymore. Whoever says their fish and chips are delicious has never had a good fish and chips. Why would you slap fish fresh from the fryer on top of fries? I'm sure they didn't even drain the fish of the oil before they put it on this plate. There was so much oil that the fries soaked it all up and were soggy. Even trying to eat the fish left a nasty old oil taste in my mouth. Our waitress didn't even offer to remake it or anything just told us "oh yeah we have a new person on the fryer today." Stopping in on New Years' day after visiting family up in Tennessee. A surprise spot on the road that I'll definitely come back to whenever heading back this way. The ambiance is nice, spacious pub feel. There's plenty of seating and art displayed by local artists. Food has been a top notch experience. The wife and I snagged the fried devil eggs and split a bowl of the shrimp and crab bisque. Definitely get the bisque, it's creamy, thick, and delicious with large chunks of and shrimp. Pictures were not included because we finished them before we could. For entrees, I got a smokehouse burger with fries while the wife got the terayaki kebabs. For the burger, the bun is made in-house and you can tell by its quality. You can also mix and match sides for whatever dish you can pick. The sauteed spinach was a standout among the dishes. Dessert was their bread pudding and the picture was the original reason why we stopped in and it lived up to the hype. The house made caramel sauce was tasty and the pudding came out in that perfect blend of piping hot with an ice-cold scoop of vanilla. Like I mentioned above, a road trip winner. read more

We came to celebrate my husband's birthday (4/30/25), and I have to say--the service was fantastic. Our server was wonderful and made us feel really taken care of. But unfortunately, the chicken sandwich that came so highly recommended was a major letdown. My daughter and I both ordered it, and we honestly couldn't chew through it. We were cracking up at how tough it was--floss wouldn't have stood a chance! It was, without a doubt, the toughest chicken sandwich I've ever wrestled with. It tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for days. The sauce was actually really good, which made it even more frustrating because we wanted to enjoy it. We had the Nawlins barbecue shrimp and it was delicious. Our server did a great job. It is our go to place for a late lunch.

With absolutely no planning and no recommendations I decided to eat here because it was raining and I could see it from my hotel window and walk there. I was nicely decorated and had many TVs playing the NCAA basketball games. On the right was a bar area and it was quite busy and straight ahead was the dining area where I was seated. I ordered BBQ shrimp for and appetizer and it was large and excellent. Not since Pascal's Manale in New Orleans have I had such great BBQ shrimp. The portion was large so to follow it up I ordered a Billy Burger which was a nicely cooked burger on a fresh in house baked bun dressed with sauteed mushrooms and onions, swiss cheese and a garlic aioli. It was delicious. It came with thin fries which were average but the service was very good and fast.. The food was over the top so I will certainly be back. One more thing, I had a cherry-lime seltzer with rum that was very good too. read more
