Wazzam yall! I tried wooden city on a week long work trip to Chattanooga. I was staying at one of the nearby hotels so it was less than a 5 minute walk to Wooden city. The reviews looked well, so we went hungry and excited. The restaurant is gorgeous, loved the view of the restaurant as I ate on the wall of booths. We had a reservation that was taken promptly, our service was convenient but I wouldn't say pleasant. We ordered the veggie pizza (great flavor, slimy texture from too many mushrooms etc 4/5) the ceasar salad (started with some finesse 4/5) and the jerk cauliflower(5/5). The only item we were disappointed in was the wings (1/5). Now let me explain. Wooden city reads as a smart modern, quality of food type of location. We made dinner reservations for a relatively early NYE meal before plans for later that evening. Uber dropped us off, and I'm glad it did as parking didn't seem to be available on a busy night. The interior is very nice, from main room to even the restrooms being clean and upscale. Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with suggestions even convincing us to switch an order for something she felt we might like better. We started with wings, a dry rub (crispy as well) with the buffalo and a sort of jerk/jamaican sauce as well as ranch. Very good wings--though perhaps not $17 for 7 good (though it was Dec 2025 inflation). I had the burger, added bacon, and swapped fries for the potato fingerlings. My wife had the spicy lamb rigatoni. Her pasta was phenomenal, perfect sauce and meat (thankfully she let me have a couple of bites). The potato fingerlings were amazing--so crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. My burger was on point as well--massive, double patty cooked to perfection. Honestly, if I were to order it again I would have asked to hold the slaw which just seemed to distract from the texture and quality of the meat, and I'd leave the bacon off as it was closer to prosciutto than bacon--limp, chewy. Drinks were good, I had a couple of the draft beers my wife ordered a lemon drop which she said they made strong and potent. All in all--great service, classy but casual, food very good to great with some real standouts on a simple, but varied menu. Prices a touch higher than maybe they should be though I understand pricing in general at the time of our visit was impacted by inflation. read more

To start off Carolyn was a fantastic funny waitress. My wife and I popped in on a Wed at around 6 pm and we were promptly seated and waited on. Stopped in after placing a to-go order for wings and their fingerlings potatoes. Deliciousness. Honestly I grab wings here whenever I'm in the mood but have never eaten in. I'm not sure the menu items are my taste BUT their wings are THE BEST in town. I didn't have it tonight but my sister would even say their cesar salad is the best she's ever had!! The ranch,blue cheese and cesar dressing are all home made and that makes the difference. Tonight I added the fingerling potatoes on suggestion from my mom and my lanta! Deliciousness. Great food, kinda and tentative bar service, and good overall ambiance in the restaurant. We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks- fantastic cocktails ( the bramble with gin and an old fashioned.) Started with the blistered hungarian pepper appetizer which was perfect for 3 as we each got a piece! Plus, it came with focaccia. My mom and I both got the peel n' eat shrimp appetizer with a side of brussels as our meals while my dad got the sausage and mushroom pizza. This is a restaurant with an option for everyone and everything was done well- not an overwhelming amount of choices, nor just thrown together. Our food was hot and fresh- one of my biggest issues with going out to eat is knowing it was sitting on the counter for a while prior to being brought to the table. Though on the pricer end, I will hopefully be back soon as I had no complaints and multiple other dishes of interest! All of the food was delicious. The Caesar salad was one of my favs, especially with the crunchy but soft on the inside croutons. The only meh dish was the burrata, but i didn't fully read the description. It tasted like Thanksgiving on a plate then just a piece of burrata on top. My son and daughter-in-law took me out to dinner and I was absolutely delighted with my dinner choices. I had the pork chop for my entree and it was perfect. Meaty, tasty and worth going back for again. I added a side of Jerk Cauliflower which was spectacular. Just the right amount of flavoring and it is going to be my new go-to selection as well. Service was prompt and always with a smile. It was chilly that night and when the doors opened, you could feel the cold air swirling around your ankles. First time visiting. The atmosphere is electric. The bar staff is spot on. In the time I was there, they made 35 drinks. The staff is very attentive and refill water and bottles of water. The food was a level up. If it's the weekend I'd make a reservation as it was full on the weekend night I was there. They have inside, bar, and outside seating. My friends and I went here on our last night in Chattanooga and we were so happy we chose this place. They were open a bit later than the others for Monday night, 10:30p, and we had the place to ourselves except for a couple other small parties. We were sat in a nice round booth as a party of five, the ambience was beautiful, high class and modern with a clean feeling and great lighting that was not too bright or dim. They had lots of cocktails to choose from, i had the happy days. My friends had the espresso martini and a couple other custom drinks. We all loved them! So exquisite. The food menu was expansive and we could barely decide, we ended up going for a few different plates and sharing, trying the lamb rigatoni, chicken schnitzel, bone marrow appetizer, fingerling potatoes, and a classic Margarita woodfired pizza. We added the sherry luge to the bone marrow and it made for a fun unique experience for us. All of the dishes were delicious, rigatoni had interesting flavors, and did not taste how I expected it to, the lamb was almost reminiscent of andouille sausage in the flavor, and it had a different tape on a traditional dish. Really enjoyable. It was also my first time trying bone marrow. It was a real treat with its pairings and flavors and textures. My favorite of the dishes was the chicken schnitzel, it was so tender. It was juicy while not being oily or deeply fried. The breading was tasty and the rice and cabbage with sauce that it was laying on top of was the best pairing, adding texture and colder temperatures, it was a true standout. The pizza is also exactly how it should be for a woodfired pizza, thin crust, the kind you almost have to fold. So good. Our server was so sweet. I can't remember her name, but everybody there was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back our next time in Chattanooga. read more

I would give 5 stars except I ordered a summer salad and the schnitzel was brought to me. I was confused on it bc the waitress and I had discussed the summer greens and the heirloom tomatoes before I placed my order. Anyway, apparently if a plate touches your table they can't take it back so we got a bonus meal ‍. The food was AMAZING! It all tasted so good. I especially loved the summer greens salad.
