Well, I was going to review while I was in the restaurant but could not get Internet signal. Anyway, look at our pictures of our dinner. I got pork chops because of other reviews and am glad I did. It looked and taste like two thick steaks when they brought it to me. I was very happy with the way it taste as it was as close to perfect as a pork chop can be. It was moist and juicy yet very tender. My friend got New York Strip steak. Look at picture I took. Now that is a good steak. She enjoyed it and she is very picky. And if she likes a steak that a restaurant cooks, then they have done a great job. This is a hidden gem of East Ridge, TN. We found this after shopping at SAMs Club. We wanted to go to a restaurant that we have never been to and Yelp took us here. Superb restaurant, wished we live closer.

I really don't know how to accurately depict my experience at Epicurean Restaurant. I know I've been curious about this place since I moved to Chattanooga. What was this place exactly? A great friend took me to dinner here and she loves this place. Said they had the best pork chops. So off we went. First of all, this is a favorite place of the Early Bird diners, if you get my drift. LOL. Nothing wrong with that at all, and hey, everyone loves to have their favorite comfort food and reasonable prices. My friend ordered the pork chop dinner, which comes with two pretty big chops. I ordered a veggie plate and then we were able to share our dinners that way. First they give you this cheesy phyllo dough thingy that was very tasty. The pork chops were very good indeed. I would definitely go back and order that again. The sides were a bit odd to me. The mash potatoes had a strange taste to them and they were heavily salted. I couldn't eat them. The coleslaw was good, as was the mac & cheese, though they use some sort of cottage cheese or something like that in it to make it soft and pudding-texture like. I have to say this was one of those unique dining experiences that I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but one I won't forget.

    Mmmm Mmmmmmm .. great potato

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. They have another dining area and an outside area too. Hunter was our server and she was great! She had great recommendations and was an attentive, fun person. Our glasses never ran empty. My husband had the Smoked Brisket French Dip - Smoked Brisket, Caramelized Onions, Provolone Cheese, Au Jus, French Hoagie with Beer Battered Fries. I had The Motherclucker - Springer Mountain Farms Southern Fried Chicken, Spiced Pickles, Hot Sauce, Duke's Mayo, Niedlov's Bun. Hunter recommended adding Pepper Jack cheese and Bacon, as well as the Brussels Sprouts with Maple & Bacon. Everything was wonderful. There were way too many Brussels sprouts. It also would have been nice if they were cut into smaller pieces. They had a special dessert of Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream. Upon entering we were greeted by warm and friendly staff. Wait time was reasonable (20 mins) and there was a fair amount of seating. There were about 3-4 groups waiting to be seated. We were walked through the establishment and seated at a booth table near the bar. If you are into sports you can see the TVs from just about every seat. The waitress arrived shortly after our seating and took our appetizer and drink order. We started with the Triple B. The fries came out quickly, were hot, fresh and delicious. The drink I ordered was out, but the waitress gave another option, but unfortunately that was out as well. Ended up having an old favorite, Guinness. For our meals we ordered the smoked brisket French dip and the wagyu burger. Upon ordered the burger our waitress informed us there was a shortage of patties and if we still wanted the burger we would get one patty instead of two, but at a lower cost. Both dishes were amazing and we couldn't finish them as both the fries and the entrees were larger in comparison to other places we have eaten. Overall this was a great experience with great food. The only thing we had difficulty with is having to use the phone flashlight to read the menu as the lighting was really dim. Will definitely return if we take another trip here.

I made reservations about a week in advance (highly recommend), and even arriving a few minutes early at 5:00 pm, the place was already buzzing. The hostess greeted us immediately and had us seated right away. Our server was on it from the start: waters filled, drink orders taken quickly, and excellent guidance on appetizers. We went with the tomato pie, which sounds simple... but don't be fooled. The flavors are anything but basic. This is not an appetizer you politely share and move on from. It's plenty for four people, though you may find yourself quietly plotting how to secure the last bite. For our mains, we shared the warm beet salad and the beef picanha. The salad had such a great flavor pairing that even my husband, who is not a beet fan, loved it (a true culinary miracle). The picanha was incredibly flavorful and may very well be the best thing on the menu... except for the mashed potatoes. Honestly, I would go back just to order my own bowl of those mashed potatoes and call it dinner. Amazing service, outstanding food, and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back very soon.
