Today was the first time I ever went to fusion salon and spa in Kernersville. Right from the beginning I was welcomed warmly with smiles and hellos. The salon was bright, cheerful and clean. My stylist was Madison. She was super precise and detailed in everything she did when she cut my hair. I was impressed by just the shampoo station. There was something to support my head in the bowl instead of having to hang on the edge of the bowl where it hurt my neck in the past. Madison was patient, kind and listened to everything I wanted and made some suggestions of her own. This is what I've been looking for. All of the girls were super kind. I can't wait to try Leslie out for my next appointment! The price for my haircut was very reasonable and I was very happy to tip her well because of the good job she did. Highly recommend! read more

I saw Mariah today for a haircut. She was professional and fussed over all the small details (just what you want when you're getting your hair cut short for summer.) I went in with a picture of what I was looking for and after looking at it for a bit, she duplicated the style perfectly. Salon is welcoming with a calming feel. It is very clean in salon and restrooms. Knowledgeable staff is caring and there to serve your needs. I like that they offer a "curly hair cut". They realize curly hair is different and they will use a diffuser to dry. I am picky about my hair. They listen and do what I want not what they "think is best." You leave with the cut you ask for. If something isn't right, you have a week to return for a free "adjustment". That is appreciated since no one styles your hair quite like you yourself. Going home and styling your own hair sometimes can show something needs adjusting. Great place. read more

This is my second time here. First time I was totally impressed. Second time is the same! Mellie is amazing. So kind, and personable. She is very talented as well. My first time I came in with a mess of a head of hair. The previous stylist I had been to had left many patchy parts in my hair and the cut was nothing like I wanted. Mellie took one look at my hair and knew how to fix it! I looked like a new person when I left. The prices are affordable and you always feel pampered. I love that Aveda products are 97% plant based and not to mention they smell amazing. Aveda is also the first beauty company to manufacture with 100% wind power, which is pretty cool. I received a hand massage and some aromatherapy during my initial visit. It was so soothing. This is my go to place to feel pampered and to always leave feeling like new! read more

I had been a client for five years with Fusion Aveda. I met a wonderful hairdresser, G, who left. Then I had good work done by Genie, who also left. The quality of care went downhill from there. Ideally, I go in for a maintenance trim and layering once a month. When I called to schedule, the owner, Mel, relayed to me that she could not get me in for two months. This was terrible news for me- but we scheduled two months out. Eager for my desperately needed appointment- when I show up Mel says she does not have me in the schedule. She offers to take me later that day- but she charges double. I cannot justify her price of over $100 for a haircut when I get the same quality at $50. Nothing else was done to correct this and there certainly wasn't an apology. Of course no salon could take me that day, so I had to opt for Great Clips. I know, it is just hair- but without the layering/thinning, my hair is a nightmare. Luckily, I have found a better salon and someone who is more experienced with my Asian hair type. read more

I will start this review with the excellent safety measures they are taking. When you schedule your appointment, all rules are reviewed. When you arrive, you call from the parking lot and then they call you back when they have completed all sanitizing efforts. Face masks are required for all customers and staff. They have a hand sanitizer station that you must use upon entry and before you exit. You read and sign a health questionnaire. They take your temperature. Mellie is keeping her employees and patrons safe. I've included pictures of the shampoo station, that only get used if you get color. Please note the middle chair is off limits with a sign for social distancing. They are working split shifts to help with occupancy limits. When more employees showed up, Mellie directed them on where they needed to set up She explained how they need to sanitize utensils and their stations after every customer. The waiting area and bathrooms are closed. They have stickers on the floor to illustrate social distancing. Mellie shared that Aveda had been great, with weekly owner calls and guidance on how they should operate. This made me feel very secure in my good health. A lot of businesses say they are operating safely. I'm here to tell you that only Costco and this location are living up to their claims. Seriously. If you are a regular, keep coming. If you've never been, get started. You won't be sorry. Now, on to the fluff. Happy Days!! I finally got my hair done! Its been 18 WEEKS! I had a long bob but during quarantine, I decided I need a major change. I took Mellie a picture of a very short hair cut and I suggested brown with either honey or caramel high lights. She liked the cut but suggested a different color, one that she woke up thinking about for me. She's the expert, so how could I refuse? It looks fantastic. I included a picture of what was cut off. After putting off getting a haircut for many months due to COVID, family, and life in general, the stars finally aligned to allow me to make an appointment to get my hair done! I booked an appointment online and when I showed up for my appointment, I was greeted and checked in promptly. My hairdresser, Ji, saw me right at my appointed time after she sanitized her area, and after a brief consultation she got started on my mess. She did a FANTASTIC job on my hair and the final result far exceeded my expectations! I am so very pleased with how Ji listened to what I wanted, and how she delivered on a look that I wanted. I am most definitely going to be back for Ji to take care of my hair! read more

My hair was straight for only 3 days when their services are quoted to last 3 months. I have never had a Keratin treatment before, the stylist explained to me that the product straightens the hair. I do not want anyone else to have my experience therefore I am exercising my consumer rights. The website image does not lie. Ask for Sarah! I only go maybe once a year for a big chop but I never have any doubts or hesitation. "Just cut it all off!" And I can 100% trust it'll look awesome! I always have some fear that I'll end up looking like a soccer mom (no offense if that's your thing; I'm sure you look great, too!) and I've had experiences with hair stylists that have a flat iron in a holster and I look like a helmet head for the rest of the day, but not here! "Feeling like a million bucks" is not an overstatement here. I smell like a rich girl when I leave. Love it, love it. I'll try to be better about coming in more often for a trim or shape-up. Fusion: on location, parking convenience, pedestrian friendliness, magazine supply, drinks served, products in stock: 4 stars Now, it's kind of dumb reviewing a salon because the salon experience depends on the ever-changing array of stylists who work there, and taste is subjective. So this is a review about the stylists and not Fusion itself: The stylists now seem more talented than when I first reviewed this place, but they do not seem very personable. I do not really care whether we talk or not during a consultation... but I don't like idle chit chat about weather and I don't want a conversation about controversial topics. The last 2 times I was here, those are the only kinds of conversations I heard. It was the opposite of relaxing. - I have been here twice for a hair cut and paid $75 for the stylist to essentially do a blow-out and style my hair. I think some stylists are afraid of using them scissors. A stylist told me that coloring my hair would cost $120; I made an appointment with her a week later and she charged me $140 because of toner. Why didn't she tell me this up front and why did I have to find out at the cash register? NOT COOL. Also, I wish salons across the country would stop it (but I understand why they do it)-- but they ALWAYS try to sell me product. It's very annoying, especially when I'm trying to get out of there. read more

I went in for a brow wax and then was suggested a tint ( yes the brows are a little dull from slight age :) ) It was a subtle and nice transformation! I love this place! Go see them! I typically only get a trim, so I used to be one of those cheapos that would go to a chain salon... with a coupon. I've put on my big girl pants and finally decided that I don't just want the cheapest price, but somewhere I can relax and have good quality, non-damaging products used on my fine, straight hair. (Hello Aveda!) I love that the stylists here offer a complimentary aromatherapy scalp massage AND they do a great job massaging during the wash process. When I had a really important job interview, I came here to get my hair blow-dried (so I wasn't fretting over it) and a manicure. The blow-out was only $15 (great investment to calm my pre-interview nerves) and Mia did a great job on my nails, even though I was on a time crunch. I felt so confident walking out of the salon and I'm sure it showed at my interview. I regularly stop by to replenish my Aveda products, which is a great way to support a local business, and it's faster than waiting for it to be shipped. Support this local gem! read more

I have naturally curly hair and I am very particular about how I want my hair to be cut and styled. Anyone who has naturally curly hair knows how hard it is to find someone to trust your curly locks with! Sarah M. was amazing. She took her time and talked with me to really understand the look I was going for and she did an amazing job. I also had my hair colored and it turned out beautiful and healthy. I was very impressed with the atmosphere. All of the women working that day were so friendly and out going. Even though I had never been to the salon before they made me feel so welcome. It was very professional yet comfortable like hanging out with your best girlfriends. The salon itself was very neat and organized. The building is tucked away in the cutest little courtyard in downtown Kernersville. It is really easy to get in and out of. I am new to the area so the prices seemed very reasonable to me. I have been coming here for over a year. I always go to Sarah Moye. She is amazing! I come in every 6 weeks for color and root touch up. She has helped me change my look 3 times! Each time with awesome results. Now when I come in i pay a little extra for a plant peal while my color sets then I get a gloss so I leave with great hair and face plus Every time I wash my hair i can feel the difference from the gloss. I totally recommend the full treatment. I normally still leave paying less than $200.00!! With everything!! read more

The staff are very nice, but I can't recommend this salon for hair color. The color seemed to just wash out, and I had blotches of grey when I left, I went back in after two weeks, and they suggested it was the shampoo I was using. Really?! Not only did she do an amazing job, she was friendly and I felt like I was the only person in the world the time I was there. Since then, I have told numerous people about this salon and I personally have been back multiple times for facials, hair and makeup.
