Really really wanted to like this place and came in excited to try it. We started off paying almost $100 for 3 breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast plate, and a croissant. Definitely a bit steep on the prices for the quality of food / service. Two of the breakfast sandwiches were incorrect and had to be sent back, though the staff corrected the issue no problem. The breakfast sandwich and salad were pretty good. After finishing almost all of his plate my husband found a cockroach looking bug under his breakfast potatoes. It was clear the bug wasn't just hanging out on the plate and had been sautéed in with those potatoes. After finding the bug, we all lost our appetite and didn't want to eat anything else from here. The owner (I'm assuming?) did apologize and comped his plate due to the bug discovery. This was a pretty disappointing experience as the pastries on display in the front looked pretty delicious. We had planned on getting a few to go on the way out but didn't trust any more of the food. Sadly won't be returning. read more

When I walked in right at 8am as they opened, I was told that the cook had not arrived yet, but I could order coffee and a pastry. No biggie, that blueberry muffin looked pretty darn good to me! Not five minutes after settling down with my giant cup of coffee and warmed up pastry, the cook arrived. I enjoyed what I ordered and my wife ended up getting a breakfast plate, which I hear was pretty good. Nothing remarkable, but we both left full and happy. Holy Glenwood, Batgirl! Breakfast at Local was the most expensive meal of our entire trip! $10 for a side of potatoes? In our defense, we weren't paying that much attention. (I tend to order side dishes b/c I'm lately eating lighter...) so we weren't expecting to drop over $40 for pancakes, 3 strips of bacon, 1 cup of coffee, 2 eggs, and potatoes. Yeah, yeah, I know: resort town. No excuse! I want to be glad to spend that kind of money on a meal on vacation! And this time we just felt, well, you know...yeah, that. My two scrambled eggs looked more like four but the issue was: were they real eggs or fake? Swimming in grease, I could only eat a small portion of them. Rubbery. Thin, measley strip of bacon. Great local spot for breakfast! We picked this place because it steps around the corner from the Denver Hotel. We figured breakfast would be pretty busy at 10am, but when we got there we were only one of a few guests. You order at the counter and wait for your food to be served. I had the breakfast tacos with sausage and my husband had the breakfast burrito. We both had a side of fruit which was super fresh! Everything came out quicker and looked amazing. Slow service. Our server touched every part of our coffee mugs while setting them down requiring us to get new glasses ourselves. They also took over 30 minutes to serve a couple breakfast sandwiches and an omelet. The food was pretty decent but I can't say I'd recommend Local on Cooper. read more

Great spot for breakfast! We ate here 2 days in a row and a 3rd is likely. Super clean, hand sanitizer, masks, single use plastic ware, spaced seating, all make it a very nice place to dine in (or take out). Breakfast burritos are delicious, excellent ratio of eggs, cheese, potatoes, onions (and added bacon) plus salsa. The avocado toast is delicious too. I added an over medium egg and it was perfectly satisfying. One of the highlights is Local's coffee. The drip coffee is so good that we each ordered an extra cup to go after dining. The food is healthy and delicious, staff is friendly and the atmosphere is peaceful and chill. This is my go-to breakfast spot in Glenwood Springs. Some day we'll try lunch but for now I can definitely recommend breakfast! read more

Asked for a lime with my beer and she said she'd bring it out. 20 minutes later when the hot chocolates were finally done I still didn't get a lime and my beer was now warm. No wonder this place is empty. Only one other table had people and they didn't even order food. Several folks after us got sick of waiting in the non existent line and just walked out, I would have done the same if they didn't make you pay up front and my daughters really wanted hot chocolate. So far, so bad. Came in and wasn't greeted. Finally, we were told we could seat ourselves and they could take our order or we could order at the counter. We chose to sit and wait for a waitress to take our order. 10 minutes passed by when my wife noticed the waitress was busy on her cell phone, she walked up to the counter and placed our order. Hoping the food is good. My 1 year old needed to be changed, no changing table in the restroom. Had to go to the car to change him. Got the food. Thank GOD it was good. First of all, I am not a complainer. We ordered the pesto panini sandwich and the macho calzone. The panini was good but the calzone was cold and way undercooked. The Macho calzone is full of meat and cheese so the meat was undercooked and the doe was soft and still like doe. When we told them it was undercooked, they said sorry but never offered any kind of reimbursement, coupon, or discount. The girl proceeded to say that no one has ever complained before. Beware! We waited for over 25 minutes for a cup of coffee and a mocha. Our food finally came out over 40 minutes after ordering it and was delivered by a waitress holding a small infant. We ordered breakfast - a quiche, bacon, egg and cheese croissant, and breakfast plate. The food was bland and had little to no flavor or seasoning and the quiche was quite possibly the worst I've had. This was my first time here. My husband and I were specifically looking for a place that served breakfast meals. Two girls attended us which made us feel important when we were ordering. They were very polite. The plate I asked for was a breakfast croissant (ham) with a side of fries. I got to pick provolone cheese for my sandwich, which was surprising because not a lot of other places give options for that. When I tried that first bite of fries, they were so soft and so good. I was super surprised. Best fries I've had in a while. The sandwich was thick and the taste was so good. It looks small but it was filling especially with the fries. I made my husband try it because of how good it was. The cheese was melted over the egg. It looked so pretty. My husbands French toast was thick and it looked so good. I love how they offered a side of fruits. They had butter and whip cream on top. The hot chocolate was so good, made out of milk. I recommend this place. Even the inside was so pretty. We just stopped in for a late lunch and had the Eden salad with chicken and the Desperado Bowl. The chicken on the Desperado bowl was amazing and so yummy, the bowl itself however lacked much flavor after that. It was missing cherry tomatoes since they had run out of them (which seems to be a little bit of a theme with other reviews!?). The salad was good but not sure it was worth the money. Cute family owned brunch place with a decent couple of vegan options (for my partner). Woman working the counter was very sweet and friendly. My (not vegan) bacon egg cheese croissant was delicious and came with a little surprise side of arugula and heirloom cherry tomatoes (I'm not sure if they bake their pastries in house or if they get them locally, but it looked beautiful!) Plating was very nice too (although I never think to take pictures). Partner said his tofu scramble was great too. My only suggestion to the business would be to consider updating their espresso pricing to meet the "average" of what most coffee shops price their drinks at. $7 for a 2shot cappuccino is just a lil steep for average coffee. I can certainly understand being short staffed and having a decent amount of customers in, but the way that this place operates is awful. They bring plates out randomly to customers, and by that I mean they will bring out on plate to this table, five minutes later bring out one plate to another table.
