Great, great pizza. We had lunch there today and got a margherita and a her sister pizzaetta. The margherita had a nice, subtle flavor like a traditional pizza while the two sisters with the smoked mozzarella and pesto was FANTASTIC! And the service people were so friendly. I wish I could review the food/pizza but called in the evening at 6:30 a few days ago but the phone just rang & rang. I know they were open because I drove past there at 7 pm and there were cars and lights on. I wanted to try it but had to order from Frankie's where we usually pick up pizza. I've had other friends say they went to Local but it was closed upon arrival. I'm not sure what's going on with this new place. If they are experiencing growing pains they should create a better system to let their customers know what's going on. Mike We finally were able to order & pick up a pizza. This latest process went as it should have initially. They answered the phone and took our order and had our pizza ready within 30 minutes to pick up there. The pizza was good and experience was pleasant. It sees like they've been able to work through their startup issues and move forward. A comment about their menu; I wish it would get expanded. Fabulous food! My husband and I stopped in for lunch. Server was friendly, smiley,pleasant. We got meatball sliders, a mini pizza. The pizza was mushroom in a white cream sauce. This was chef quality food. The mini pizza had the most perfect crust I've ever had. The cream sauce was on par with delicate french cooking. I was super impressed. We left with lemoncello cake in a takeout box. It was light, lemony cream filling, shaved delicate white chocolate garnish. This darling Eatery is just above par in every way. read more

Have been driving by this little place for a while and finally tried it today....it was FANTASTIC. The prices for happy hour are incredible. Our waiter Cody did not disappoint with his suggestions as first timers. The roasted artichokes were absolutely delicious and the individual flatbread pizzas were excellent. Not sure if it was an off night looking at some of the reviews but here is my experience with a group of 7. Arrived a little after 6 sat down after a few minutes due to it being a little busy ordered probably around 6:15 - 6:30. Everyone ordered pizza except for me. I ordered Gnocchi and short ribs. Keep in mind this is a brick oven pizza place. Anyone who watches TV of food shows knows a brick oven pizza takes about 7-10 minutes at the most. 1 Hour later I get my meal and eat it. Another 15-20 minutes later the pizzas arrive. I am not sure where the organization of the process fell through but that was way too much time to prepare and cook brick oven pizza's. Now lets talk about the sauce. If you have little kids that like pasta from a can please take them here. They will love it. I personally do not like the flavor or texture of Chef Boyardee sauce. To me that is what the sauce reminded me of. Like I said it might have been an off night but there were three of us on one ticket and our bill was $70 so I would not have expected can food with recycled chef boyardee sauce. I can say the pizza crust was good once you take off all the sauce and cheese. read more

My family has been out of town recently. We missed our favorite spots. First night home my husband and I we're excited to go to local pizza the food was very good . we had a different bartender than the usual ones. The woman was not happy very stressed and the service wasn't good compared to the other times we have been there. The fun vibe just wasn't there. read more

We are regulars customers of Italiano's North, a sister business of Local Pizza. We recently decided to try LP and have one of their upscale pasta dishes. The two entrees we order lacked major ingredients. The So Fresh came without basil and the Shrimp Pappardelle without any noticeable fennel and preserved lemon, two distinct favors. We would have told our server, but he never returned to our table once our food arrived. We had to flag him down to get our check though he had time to chat up staff in the open kitchen and water the plants outside. I filled out a comment card and dropped it by the next day. I talked with the manager and he seemed receptive of my concerns and made sure my contact info was on the card. We never heard from him, confirming or denying my complaints or offering any compensation. I guess some places feel that there are enough seasonal people not to worry about the locals, despite their name. I'd be hard pressed to return to this restaurant because how this was handled. Too many other places that want your business and proved it with their customer satisfaction approach. read more

VERY disappointed.. I asked for a pizza with cheese, mushrooms and extra sauce.. When I got it home I noticed someone put grated cheese on it?? WTH!!! NEVER have I seen that before.. Its a PIZZA not spaghetti.. The pizza itself tasted 'chemically'.. It was just as bad as Frankies a couple miles south.. WTH is wrong with Sarasota!! If you want a great, consistent pizza Napoletana come here. Our go to is Pizza Margherita but we add prosciutto and mushrooms- delicious. Salads are always good and always fresh. A great option weather you dine in or carry out. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE.....was a walk in...ordered a meatball parm hero. Was told that it would be 10 - 15 minutes, so I went back into my vehicle, put on some music and waited. Approximately 10 minutes later, I went back into the shop, asked about my order and was given a bag with my name on it. I gladly paid $16.00 (yes $16.00 for a hero) and drove home. When I got home, not only was it NOT A HERO, it was a 1/4 pound of dry (about a 1/3 cup of sauce) pasta and two inedible meat balls. The Garlic was overwhelming and the meatballs themselves were nothing more than breadcrumbs and garlic with a little bit of meat. Now for $16.00, this was not only the wrong order, but a travesty in Italian Cooking. Never again...the only reason I didn't turn right around and demand my money back was because the $16.00 was a cheap enough price to pay to learn to NEVER go there again. If you like overpriced, overly garlic, lack of meat and heavy bread crumbed meatballs, THIS is your place....Personally, I like my food to be prepared with a little more care toward quality. read more
