Went for breakfast after a soccer game. Waitress was extremely nice and professional. Issue was the food took so long to come out that we ended up having to box it to go and eat in the car to the second game. On top of that, it was just ok. And they didn't put any utensils in the bag so we had to eat with our hands since we were in a jam and on a time crunch. I'm sure it's a nice sit down place if you had time. Owner came out and apologized. We did call ahead as well and were told they could accommodate but I guess the restaurant just got too busy. read more

The atmosphere was nice and the service was good. We started with the charcuterie board and for over $20 it was very disappointing. It was a sad excuse of a board with low quality meats/cheeses. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse we were all drowning in our salty entrees. My father ordered the steak which was near inedible because of how salty it was. I ordered the shrimp and scallops, and my mouth was burning from the salt overload. Make sure you hydrate before eating here. Overall low quality food that is way too overpriced. Very nice restaurant as we were looking for lunch at a place not a chain restaurant. Excellent service by all those that worked there. We had the soup that was like a Buffalo chicken dip. Sounds strange I know but it was very good and a cup was a generous portion. My wife and I shared their Dirty 'ol Jay burger with a side of dill fries and an order of roasted brussel sprouts. We ordered the burger "slightly pink" and it came out very red all the way through. The hostess within minutes checked on us and we told her about the meat and she apologized seeing that it was rare. She took the plate and returned with another oder of fries as we waited for the burger, which I thought was quite nice of them to do. When she returned with out new burger it was cooked to our satisfaction. Overall the food was top notch and the service was even better. Too bad Local Provisions isn't a chain restaurant. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place to do happy hour that was different from our normal spots. We like the concept of Local provisions so we came by at 5:15 for happy hour that ends at 6 o'clock. In all, it was a decent happy hour. There was a wide variety of drinks. The food however was pretty limited. The Buffalo chicken dip was missing the chicken. Many of the happy hour drinks were very sweet. But in general, if you are looking for a decent happy hour and you are on this side of town, you should come by. The blue cheese and steak flatbread was great. read more

Omg we finally tried this new spot in tioga! It's super CUTE inside! I love the different seating areas and the bar in the middle of the restaurant, very inviting space and very clean! My husband and I sat at a table across from the bar; our waiter also had someone in training with him. I didn't get his name but he was super attentive and nice-I would definitely recommend him again, I would know him if I seen him thats for sure! I order the burger with Brussels sprouts and omg both were fantastic! I thought the brussels would be sweeter tasting but they were not but very good! I would definitely order both again! My husband ordered the poke bowl and a side of fries(I had a few fries) they were yummy too! Afterwards, we stayed around and ended up ordering drinks! I ordered a French 75(2 of them) omg and the bartender(again I would know her if I seen her, name wasn't on the receipt) but omg she did an awesome job on the drinks! Hands down, delicious and filled to the rim! The first drink we sat at our table and then 2nd drink we sat at the bar. The staff we came across were excellent and super friendly! This is a place I definitely want to come back to for food and definitely to try the charcuterie board with my French 75; I foresee me coming here for a happy hour! Awesome vibe for it! I've been for drinks one week night, and lunch twice. Each time was not very busy, yet the service was very slow. I love the concept and the atmosphere is great. But the food doesn't make up for the slow service either. The burger is good, but I just saw they changed the menu. A burger with bacon, without a side is almost $20, for lunch. This is Gainesville, not NYC. Their tuna tar tar was so salty, I couldn't finish it. I hope the food quality improves, and I'm rooting for the place, but not worth the wait and the prices. read more

We were excited to visit this restaurant, and the decor was modern and chic. Trendy music playing and lighting was good. Lots of bottles of alcohol decorating the bar. Food was very good; we had the Dirty Ol Blue burger with the dill fries and the red snapper with tomato cream sauce, asparagus, and a side of rice. Both were delicious. The burger is featured on their Instagram and we followed the advice of other reviewers and got the dill fries. Excellent! The fish was sautéed well with a nice crisp on the outside edges. Asparagus was smokey and grilled perfectly, and the tomato cream sauce really elevated the dish. Recommend the rice; the slices of baguette would have left me wanting more. The downside to the meal was the drinks. We got BOGO margaritas that were weak and too sweet. Bar forgot lime which was delivered to the table after we had already had a few sips. An old fashioned was much too sweet--last few sips were almost purely simple syrup. At least they used a fancy luxardo cherry--not a bright red maraschino. Next time, I will choose a whiskey by name. We mentioned the drinks to the manager and she was appreciative of the feedback. The only final note is the many flat screen TVs that were on. Of course people may want to watch the olympics or view some Gator sports, but the shows and the commercials were hard to ignore and contrasted with the modern, cool, local, farm-to-table vibe that we thought the restaurant was trying to promote. read more

It was nice and clean on the inside. The large windows provided lots of natural lighting. The food was phenomenal. It came out hot so I knew it was cooked fresh. The grouper was a great combo between salty, nutty, savory, and some sweet from the cherries. The salmon with dill sauce was buttery and delicious. read more

We really wanted our experience here to be better because we love the idea of an upscale experience out closer to where we live. It was our third time and each time there is always something a little meh about our experience. Our most recent experience left our jaws open wide. We ordered 2 cocktails, an appetizer, and shared a burger. We also purchased an overpriced bottle of wine...but that's on us. Without the bottle of wine, our bill was $75 for 2 cocktails, an appetizer, and a shared burger. Turns out, our very nice and friendly bartender didn't inform us that the spirits he suggested for a gin martini and Manhatten were $17 and $20 respectively. This is almost 50% more than the advertised menu price. While we anticipated an increased price, we did not expect that much of a markup. And the Manhatten was mostly ice (and not even a nice BIG cube, just crushed ice)! This is certainly on us for not asking...but a good bartender should have said, "There is an upcharge for this bourbon/gin. Is that ok?" and let us decide if we wanted to go that route. read more

First of all, take the "pad Thai" off the menu or call it something else because that's not it. Ordered this on Uber eats last night because my daughter was over and she was cramping and didn't want to go anywhere and I had been wanting to try this place. "Pad Thai" was disgusting, I have never ordered pad Thai anywhere in my life and found it so revolting that I didn't even want to eat it. The other thing we ordered and ended up sharing was the wagyu bacon burger... ok my issues with this is preparation. This had the potential to be so delicious but... wasn't packed well the bottom bun was soggy on one side, the bacon....i didn't think you could ruin bacon but here we are, you succeeded, it was so over cooked or dried out to the point it was like biting into a plank of wood... "wagyu bacon" the "Wagyu" patty, I don't mind a thin crumbly burger but it was so over cooked it tasted burnt...and not a little burnt but like you left it in the pan til it started to turn into charcoal. I really don't like paying $25 for a "wagyu" burger expecting it to be delicious only to have it so badly executed.. I could have gone to steak and shake and got a $4 burger that would have tasted better than this crap. The "chef" should be fired. the zucchini plank was good though. Local Provisions is relatively new to the Tioga Town Center, but it's a wonderful restaurant. They serve local foods/ingredients (farm to table) and have a full liquor bar. Visited Local Provisions for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Very few seats filled. Server was pretty attentive to start but once she took our order, we didn't see much of her. Ordered a Petite fillet and grilled shrimp and asked for steak to be cooked medium rare. Another person brought the meal out fairly quickly. Both steak and shrimp were overcooked. Went ahead and started as no one came to check. Server eventually came and said your steak cooked the way you wanted? I said no both were overcooked. I told her I would appreciate a credit on my bill. She checked with manager and told me he had given me a credit. The meal was $33.95 and they gave me a whopping $3.40 off. I had a burger that was raw in some places, but it didn't bug me that badly. I'd assume this could be a major problem for some folks. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. Wife ordered a burger well done. Food took a very long time considering amount of people there. Chicken sandwich was ok. Nothing special and chicken was small. Fries were good. Wife's burger was medium rare at best. She couldn't eat it. Waitress never returned to check on food until she brought check. We told her we wanted to send back burger but due to how long we sat there we didn't want a replacement just taken off bill. She told manager who took it off but never came to apologize. Waitress had no personality and like I said never really checked on us. This was very disappointing considering how they weren't busy at all. Unlikely to return and will not recommend. read more

We came here for lunch and the food was fine. The Caesar salad wasn't very flavorful, was lacking in dressing but it was ok. The burger and fries was good. Brunch though was a different story. Their house cured smoked salmon seemed really dry. The steak hash though, the beef was dry, flavorless. The potatoes weren't crispy. I asked the server about the steak and she came back and said that that's how the steak is presented as it is cooked over butter. I didn't want to argue so we just ate what we could. The s'mores pancake was just okay. I hope they can improve on their food because there's not a lot of food options in SW Gainesville. read more

Oh Locals Provisions we so want you to be successful but you find away each time we've chosen to dine with you since you opened. First it was TERRIBLE service. That has improved tremendously. Then there are high prices for small servings and now the false advertising. You have a pork belly BLT on your menu that is three strips of bacon. Tonight was my first time ordering this $14 BLT. I assumed that the kitchen forgot the actual pork belly and so I asked the waitress. She went and asked the manager who informed her that the three strips of house made bacon was the pork belly. Now you do have pork belly on your menu and I hope you know the difference. Another person in our party ordered the cheese burger that comes with bacon. It's the same pork belly (aka, bacon) that was on my BLT. So I ask, if the pork belly on the aválate and the bacon on the burger are the same and they are, why do you call one bacon and the other pork belly? The sandwich was fine, but definitely not worth $14 and a long waY from the best I've ever had. The point is, I wouldn't have ordered the sandwich if it had been properly described! Not cool to refer to bacon as pork belly to justify the sandwich costing several dollars more than it's worth! If the drinks hadn't been good, I would've rated you a 1. First time in, great menu and reasonably priced. Had the petite filet and shrimp, the flavor was terrific and it was cooked perfectly. We have been to local provisions several times, each time hoping it would get better. Unfortunately, it has not. Our most recent visit was for brunch. The wait staff were pleasant but unorganized. Our order was not written down and it came out wrong. It's aggravating when wait staff think they can memorize an order and it comes out wrong EVERY time. Plus, my spouse's order, which should've come out together, did not. Refills on coffee came without creamer, especially since we asked for creamer the first time around. A very below average experience. Also, food isn't good enough to look past the staff inadequacies. We will not give them any more of our business. read more

This place has potential, but I was underwhelmed by my first experience. I didn't care for the cocktail list because I found that many of the drinks were too sweet. We ordered the tuna poke bowl and the pesto pasta. The tuna was fine, but the rice was overcooked and flavor was lacking. I would take a bento poke bowl at half the cost over this one anyday. The pasta was also really gummy and lacked flavor. This place is cute and I'm curious to try out their brunch, but it seemed like they were trying to do too much too soon. read more
