    BBQ pork taco
    Sydney G.

Food: I got a BBQ pork taco and a side of Mac n cheese. Both were delicious. The taco was flavorful and the Mac n cheese had tons of cheese and tasted great. The food can get a little expensive if you get a bunch of apps but it is well worth it when it comes to the taste. Service: The people here are awesome. They are personable and easy to joke around with. The owner came and talked with my party for a few minutes and gave us some great recommendations for a fun fall afternoon. Ambience: There is a lovely outdoor seating area as well as a few nice spacious indoor tables. The decor is new and well maintained.

By an act of providence we could not get a larger table at Royal River Grille a week ahead, the group was coming from all over southern Maine and this location met the time tables sorted out. Food, drinks, service, ambience and mostly importantly the Staff (especially Sarah) were outstanding! Prices reasonable for location. Inside and outdoor dining. And you have to pay $5 for the chips and house made sauces to accompany the perfect margaritas and cold tap beers, but it is so worth it!

Locally Sauced is in one of the best locations in Portland currently. It's a really hip, comfortable smaller space that can maybe accommodate twenty two or so people situated in a brick building next to a distillery, adjoining a brewery (they even have a window in the brewery side so you can order there), and two doors down from a winery. The staff is awesome; super friendly and totally accommodating. Vegan? They can guide you in the right direction! And their sauces? Try. Them. All!!! The blueberry chipotle is the perfect sweet and mild heat; the citrus serrano and mango habanero pack more of a spicy punch, but taste very similar to each other in my opinion. There are a few other things that miss the mark for me personally. Coming in at 4:30 in the afternoon, I was surprised there was no happy hour offerings. It's difficult to pay $10 to $11 dollar for a margarita when a dozen other places in town are offering similar (and some better) ones for just $5. Which leads me to the price: for two margaritas, three tacos, and an enchilada thing we spent $52 (that was before tip) - it adds up quickly here. And finally, and I know this is really nitpicking but a) the chips were strange: they tasted overcooked and didn't have any salt; maybe we just had a bad batch, but we didn't end up eating them; and b) there's no avocado or guacamole here, and that's kind of a bummer. Overall, if you're at Thompson's Point, Locally Sauced *will* hit the spot. I'm just not sure, for locals, if it's a destination spot you come out of your way for at this point.

    Pastrami taco

Popped in here after a visit to the Makers Market At Thompson's point. On an impulse I got a pastrami taco just because I never hear of it , it was really good a bit on the drippy side but I think it was the Sauerkraut . I looked around and saw the nachos looked like something I might need to go back for. Staff was very friendly.

We were pleased to support them by taking out food over the pandemic, bu SO cool to be eating inside. Delicious burrito bowl and chicken banh mi burrito and of course the house-made chips. Excellent drinks and service. Staff masked and socially distanced tables

    Chips and salsa

I was extraordinarily underwhelmed and disappointed with the quality of the food at this place, especially considering the price point. I'm always a fan of food places connected with breweries, but this place really fell short of the mark. We were looking for a small appetizer to hold us over until dinner and settled on chips and salsa. The "salsa" that comes with the chips is pico de gallo served on top of the chips. And let me tell you, it was probably the most BLAND and unsatisfying pico I have ever had. The chips themselves had a weird after taste that could not be drowned out with the pico as it had no flavor (and left me wishing it wasn't poured on top of the chips). In addition you are given a side of green salsa to dip your chips in which made them edible, but we were given barely enough to use on 1/3 of the chips we had. Overall I would not recommend this place... if you are a few beers deep at bissel brothers it might seem worth it, but honestly you would be better off requesting delivery from somewhere else. It's not worth the price for unremarkable and bland food.

Only try the nachos but it was good. Probably would come back. It was an $18 tray of goodness

The ceaser side salad was super fresh and I can't say enough about the roasted veggies. They are almost a meal by themselves. We ordered take out this past Sunday and I ordered the taco salad and a side of the veggies. I added them to the salad and it was spectacular!! They are perfectly cooked and garlicky. They went so good right on my salad...which was huge and packaged in a very nice resealable plastic bowl. Crispy and fresh! The food was packaged very well and it was still hot when we got home 20 min away. There are not very many resteraunts available these days that are like this but still completely affordable for local folks.

We were there on a Tuesday around 11:45 and stayed until around 1:30/2pm - There was a steady stream of people getting take out and the dinning aread was 3/4 full the entire time. It seems to be a very popular place. The menu is pretty easy to read on the wall to your right as you walk in. it's pretty easy - you can choose a option from the wall and you can customize your burrito, quesadilla, nachos etc further when you get to the counter. I have never been to a chipotle, so I can't compare it. I love the fact that it's locally owned. For those that do not like cilantro - it's only in two things..one of the rice options and the pico...other than that you are safe. For those that love cilantro, you can ask for extra. Ever since I regularly started to visit Portland a few years back, multiple friends who had also…read morevisited the city had recommended Taco Escobarr. I had never taken them up on their recommendation in the past, though, as I don't find Mexican food in the Northeast to be anything special - and I'm not really in the mood for it when in Maine. However, I was looking to try some new (to me) spots this past trip, and was in the mood for Mexican, so I decided to check it out for dinner. Escobarr is located on Congress Street - I had always been told this is a super popular spot however when I arrived on a Wednesday evening it was only half full so I easily snatched a seat at the bar. The interior is fun - the vibes are relaxed and the decor is just enough to let you know you're in a Mexican restaurant without being too over the top. The aesthetic highlights for me was the large string of pepper lights hanging from the ceiling, and the bangin' millennial playlist they were playing. I decided to start with a margarita, because Mexican restaurant. They have a variety of flavors but I went simple with their signature one. It was pretty good, nothing too noteworthy but a solid marg nonetheless. As suggested by the name, the star of the menu is tacos - they have a good variety of fillings, and can be purchased a la carte or in combination with sides. They also have a few non-taco offerings, though less than a standard Mexican restaurant - this is mainly a taco joint. I decided on three tacos - chicken, chorizo, and al pastor, and ordered a side of beans. Food came out super fast, and overall my meal was fine. These weren't the best tacos I've had, but they did hit the spot and the filling was generous. The side of beans was fine as well - they were beans. Note that chips and salsa are not obligatory here, kinda odd but maybe that's just their thing. After another round and some nice conversation with some other patrons and the staff, I made my way. Service was great - the staff were super fun and engaging with each other and the customers. That, along with the fun vibes are the reasons I feel one would come to Taco Escobarr. The food is just fine, but the overall experience was good. Would I return for the vibes alone? Perhaps, but I'm not running back.
