Specializing in barbecue , a giant smoker sits next to the patio.. and we watched the chef split the wood to feed into the smoker. Though the selections are varied , the impressive barbecue menu includes brisket, pulled pork and a range of unique sauces for dipping. Also on the menu is a barbecued brisket burger served with a magical dressing, greens and tomato on a nifty soft bun. The wide selection of other entree options includes assorted tacos-- full to the brim with fish, or brisket -- served on homemade tortillas. We were in Maine for the week and decided to give this place a try after traveling all day- we waited a very long time with no drinks, and after 30 mins finally asked the server if we could have the waters we ordered. The service was very slow and the whole patio full of people seemed upset and kept questioning what was taking so long on their food. Tried Locally Sauced and honestly left pretty disappointed. The place is doing this Mexican BBQ fusion thing, which sounded interesting, but the food just didn't land. Almost everything was incredibly sweet. The BBQ sauce tasted like straight liquid candy, and even the slaw was sweet. After a few bites the whole meal just felt kind of cloying. The prices also didn't match what you actually get. Around $30 for a brisket plate and it was basically four strips of brisket. Portions felt really small for the cost. On top of that, sauces cost extra, which felt a little ridiculous given the price point. Another thing that stood out: the "chips" were literally just Tostitos out of a bag. Not even house-made tortilla chips. For a place trying to have this unique, elevated vibe, that felt pretty lazy. I ordered a brisket burrito and it came out open-faced instead of wrapped like a burrito, which was confusing and messy to eat. Service itself was fine -- nothing bad to say there -- but the overall vibe of the place was kind of strange. It felt very "aggressively millennial," like it was trying really hard to be quirky and different instead of just focusing on making good food. Overall it just wasn't a great experience. Best Mexican food in Yarmouth. Low-key ambiance on a Thursday night. We started with a very presentable cabernet and margarita and had tacos and a smoked brisket rice bowl--wonderful. Food: I got a BBQ pork taco and a side of Mac n cheese. Both were delicious. The taco was flavorful and the Mac n cheese had tons of cheese and tasted great. The food can get a little expensive if you get a bunch of apps but it is well worth it when it comes to the taste. Service: The people here are awesome. They are personable and easy to joke around with. The owner came and talked with my party for a few minutes and gave us some great recommendations for a fun fall afternoon. We've been here a few times, but most recently yesterday for a mid-afternoon snack/late lunch. (Remember they're only open 4 days/week: Wed-Sat) I had the pork taco and my husband had the brisket taco. What wonderful tastes and juicy meats! Cuban black beans are delicious too! The last time I was there, I had the Korean taco which was delicious but a bit spicy for my taste so the waitress (co-owner) brought me some sour cream to tone it down which was perfect. Locally Sauced is in one of the best locations in Portland currently. It's a really hip, comfortable smaller space that can maybe accommodate twenty two or so people situated in a brick building next to a distillery, adjoining a brewery (they even have a window in the brewery side so you can order there), and two doors down from a winery. The staff is awesome; super friendly and totally accommodating. Vegan? They can guide you in the right direction! And their sauces? Try. Them. All!!! The blueberry chipotle is the perfect sweet and mild heat; the citrus serrano and mango habanero pack more of a spicy punch, but taste very similar to each other in my opinion. There are a few other things that miss the mark for me personally. Coming in at 4:30 in the afternoon, I was surprised there was no happy hour offerings. It's difficult to pay $10 to $11 dollar for a margarita when a dozen other places in town are offering similar (and some better) ones for just $5. Which leads me to the price: for two margaritas, three tacos, and an enchilada thing we spent $52 (that was before tip) - it adds up quickly here. And finally, and I know this is really nitpicking but a) the chips were strange: they tasted overcooked and didn't have any salt; maybe we just had a bad batch, but we didn't end up eating them; and b) there's no avocado or guacamole here, and that's kind of a bummer. Overall, if you're at Thompson's Point, Locally Sauced *will* hit the spot. I'm just not sure, for locals, if it's a destination spot you come out of your way for at this point. read more

On an impulse I got a pastrami taco just because I never hear of it , it was really good a bit on the drippy side but I think it was the Sauerkraut . This was really good. I was skeptical as I was visiting from Texas and we know good tacos, but service and food were excellent. I ordered two tacos and we shared a large slaw. I really didn't like the slaw, but the tacos were excellent (Asian and fish) The tortillas were homemade. Loved the guacamole and queso. Chips were really the lowlight of the meal; basically bagged grocery store chips. Salsa was good, but I usually prefer spicier. I'm always a fan of food places connected with breweries, but this place really fell short of the mark. We were looking for a small appetizer to hold us over until dinner and settled on chips and salsa. The "salsa" that comes with the chips is pico de gallo served on top of the chips. And let me tell you, it was probably the most BLAND and unsatisfying pico I have ever had. The chips themselves had a weird after taste that could not be drowned out with the pico as it had no flavor (and left me wishing it wasn't poured on top of the chips). In addition you are given a side of green salsa to dip your chips in which made them edible, but we were given barely enough to use on 1/3 of the chips we had. Overall I would not recommend this place... if you are a few beers deep at bissel brothers it might seem worth it, but honestly you would be better off requesting delivery from somewhere else. We were disappointed in the quantity/quality of the food for the high prices. I ordered the brisket plate - it had three very fatty pieces at room temperature, a tiny cup of a not-very-good sauce, a pile of shredded green cabbage with a few carrots (guessing it was supposed to be coleslaw but there was no dressing on it), some pickled onion and jalapeno cornbread. No beans or pickles, kind of odd for a brisket plate. The cornbread was good, it would have been better warm and with some butter on it. I was only brought a fork which made eating this a challenge. This was about half the amount of food I would have expected for the $28 price tag but honestly, the quality was just so poor anyway. Tried Locally Sauced while enjoying some Bissell beers. After seeing IG posts of the massive nacho trays, I had to try them out. The nachos are probably the most expensive item on the menu, but feels like the best deal to me, especially if your sharing. We went with medium heat which was bearable for me and not spicy enough for my boyfriend. My husband and I first tried this out on a rainy Sunday for brunch. It was absolutely amazing! We shared a breakfast burrito and a bbq breakfast bowl. The food was so fresh and flavorful- oh, and did I mention the delicious Bloody Marys? A few weeks later we tried it for dinner with some friends. We started with chips and dip. Then, my husband and I split the bbq dinner with a side of mac and cheese (we had learned from brunch that the portions were huge, therefore decided to share a meal- and we still took some home). Their nachos are gigantic and i love them. I made the mistake of getting one of their hotter sauces once and that was a big mistake. I definitely recommend sticking with mild (i like spicy food but this sauce rendered my tastebuds obsolete). I tried Locally Sauced today and was not impressed. First of all, you have to pay to park in their parking lot. Maybe this isn't a big deal, but it irritates me to pay $2/hr. to park outside of downtown to have lunch. I ordered the nachos. They weren't terrible, but they weren't very good. The weird thing is that they don't have any tomato salsa. There's a mild blueberry chipotle, a medium citrus, and a hot mango. I'm all for creativity, but I don't want my nachos tasting like blueberries, citrus or mango. You can't get beer unless you sit at Bissell Brothers which wasn't very comfortable. Went here for lunch while at Thompson's Point for afternoon beers at Bissell Brothers Brewery next door and was able to sit outdoors at Bissell while eating which was a plus. They have a good sized menu to choose from and the staff was very friendly. We had the vegetarian burrito ($14) with the sauce choice of blueberry chipotle. Unfortunately it missed the mark for both of us-it had very little beans, cheese with A LOT of onion. Both of us remarked on how it tasted overwhelmingly like onions, which eclipsed the other flavors. The blueberry sauce was interesting, but too sweet for us and would recommend another sauce choice for the burrito. Based on our experience I can't say I'd recommend coming here specifically for a meal but if you're at Thompson's Point anyway and hungry it may be worth a shot. read more

We ordered from locally sauced while next door at Bissell Brothers. The food came out fast and the ladies behind the counter were friendly. We ordered a chicken taco, a kimchi taco, lobster taco, slaw and salsa and chips. The chicken taco was great, the kimchi pretty good and the lobster was OK. The slaw was good but eating it with the wooden fork was frustrating. The chips and salsa were a disappointment. The salsa was band and the chips were stale. We'd order again if at Bissell, but would probably give anything involving the chips a pass. Edit 9/15/19 I was contacted by locally sauced and it was explained to me that they know they have been struggling with the chips and the have switched to a different type that they think will work much better. I went up to the counter and ordered veggie tacos and was asked what kind of salsa I opted for blueberry as I don't love super spicy food. That was a bad choice as now my tacos were awkwardly sweet. Next I picked fries and while they were cooked to complete perfection they too were sweet. They are seasoned with sugar, chili powder and some other things. They were weird. I came here today after a quick stop to Bissell Brothers. I got the Special, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I will say that it did have a kick to it but not too much that it was unbearable to eat. However it had way too much sauce on it, some kind of mayo dill combo with way too many cucumbers. Once I grabbed it , there was no letting go! I wouldn't say it was spectacular it was just okay. And the chips were stale, which was very disappointing. I had a few but couldn't eat most of them because of the stale taste and texture. They share an entrance with the Cryptozoology Museum and Bissell Brothers has a window so that you can have your beer and burritos while staying warm on a cold day. Small restaurant with a handful of table with a couple TVs so you can watch the game. Eat in or take out; even take the food to the other beverage spots next door! Paid parking is right to the door and shared with Brick South an event venue. We had the huge nachos plate and the dish was well balanced and probably the best nachos that I've had in a while.
