I ordered Liege Waffles to try something new. Menu describes it as being thick and chewy with crunchy bites of sugar. You can get either 1 or 3. I ordered three. It took a very long time for me to receive my order. When it arrived, it didn't look thick, but it was very crunchy. After my first bite, I was not a fan as it stuck to the roof of my mouth. I don't know if that was because it was sugary. I have never had that experience eating other waffles. The rest, I decided to cut into much smaller pieces, but overall, I ended up just picking on the dish and didn't really eat much of it. For drink, I had the Dirty Chai Latte. I loved the taste of this and the temperature was perfect. What I didn't like was my cup had spillage on all sides before it was served to me, which gave the impression that it was initially filled to the brim. Quite unusual. Overall, I feel it was an off day as things seemed rather busy. However, that will not stop me from coming back to this spot as my previous experiences have been great. read more

You walk in through a garden type area and if you want to buy some annuals or other gardening item, they have that! There is plenty of outdoor seating and we caught the opening songs of a local acoustic set--when the weather is good, this place is sure to be packed!!! When you enter the building, there are plenty of local goods--soaps, snacks, beverages and etc to peruse. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. There is art throughout the building, so make sure to check it out. The food--oh the food--chefs kiss. My eggs were cooked to perfect, my latte was delicious (though not quite sweet enough), the bread pudding was decadent without being cloying. My wife and I went to lunch at a local Poolsville restaurant called Locals Farm Market. The restaurant is an old farmhouse in Poolesville with both inside and outside dining. They use only local grown produce and protein in their offerings. I had a hamburger medium on a brioche bun gluten-free with lettuce, tomato homemade pickles and outstanding french fries My wife had a grilled cheese sandwich and homemade tomato soup, with a side of fresh fruit. We both had freshly made iced tea. Both the ambience and the food were spectacular. This is the first time I've ever been to a restaurant where I've ordered a medium rare burger, and it actually came medium rare. The meat was succulent,moist and extremely flavorful, and very well seasoned. The fries were double cooked in peanut oil and appropriately salted. They were divine My wife had her grilled cheese on sourdough bread with sharp cheddar and she said that it was perfect. The tomato soup according to my wife was outstanding. For the road, we got coffees to go, that were smooth , flavorful with great notes of chocolate and hazelnut We will be visiting this place again, probably very soon. I can't think of a meal with this atmosphere and perfect garden to table offerings that we've been to in a long while. 5 STARS!!! read more

LOVE this place! Freshly baked breads and super yummy entrees all come together at this Poolesville gem! The entire space gives off this artsy earthy vibe. Service is super easy. Just order at the counter. They give you a number and bring the food to your table. Lots of great tables outside. The indoor spaces looked good too, but we opted for outdoor dining since the weather was good. I had the caesar salad with grilled salmon. It was fabulous. Salmon can be touch and go a lot of places but it was spot on at Locals. My wife had the avocado toast on sourdough bread. Tons of avocado and crispy veggies on top. Lots of vegetarian/vegan option plus tons of stuff for carnivores to enjoy. The fried chicken sandwich and the steak and cheese looked great. A serendipitous surprise awaits in Poolesville. We'd never been to the town before, but happened upon Local Eats. More than a place with pre-packaged food, LE prepares food that would rival a 5 star restaurant (that's why it rates 5 stars!) The soups are larger portions and beautifully seasoned. I had the tomato soup, others in our group recommend the mushroom soup. The crabcake sandwich was cooked to perfection - not chewy or falling apart. Simpler fare like grilled cheese comes on sourdough bread making this the heartiest of meals. Top it off with bread pudding and you are filled and fulfilled. The one possible drawback is getting a table and waiting in line to order, but the food is prepared and delivered promptly. Had no idea this place existed until I came here with friends. Driven by so many times, but a nice spot. You order at the counter and find a table. The outside area had heaters and semi-enclosed, so we sat in there since it was crowded. I saw a waiter bringing someone grilled cheese & tomato soup and I had to have it. Pretty lovely evening to be eating outside and enjoying some music. This is a very low key place. You get in line and place your order at the counter. You get a number and wait for your meal to be brought to you. Though service was great when ordering and the staff is super friendly, once you get your food, no one comes around after that. And this is not a place that one would expect that. They were having problems with making the milkshakes so I was disappointed I didn't get to try any. Apparently the ice cream is from South Mountain Creamery which I do like! Got the lemonade instead and it was fine. We got the crab cake sandwich and the bacon cheeseburger without the bun. Food was good. Fries were just okay. They were kind of limpy and unimpressive. I like my fries extra crispy. It started to downpour so we went inside to finish our meal. It was nice instead as well. This is the cutest little place in town. They have a market and fresh bread, plus a full breakfast/lunch menu. The seating outside is nice and they do takeout as well - I've only ever done takeout. The chicken and waffles are my favorite but they have a delicious chicken Caesar salad as well. The drinks are on the smaller side, but sooo good. I've had their vanilla milkshake and a chai latte so far. The fries are a bit soggy, but everything else has been excellent! One of the best coffee shops we have ever visited. We came to this place after hiking in a nearby sunflower field. Even though the day was hot, sitting in their outdoor area felt quite cool because of the soft breeze. The trees and flowers scene is marvelous. Their coffee is great. This restaurant is a real country treat. The restaurant offers a large shaded outside dining area. The inside of the restaurant is totally charming with local artists paintings displayed on the wall. This is a small outdoor cafe and restaurant in the Steven's House, an 1840s home sandwiched between the John Poole House and the Old Town Hall, in the heart of Historic Poolesville. This business is open on weekends only. They have several outdoor tables in the shade to enjoy your food. We came here to get a chocolate milkshake which had one shot of espresso, a couple of sourdough pretzels, some bread to take home and some LIEGE waffles. To explain the waffles aren't the type to eat with syrup they're already sweet enough and they're nice and handheld. They also sell fresh local produce like a small farmers market but the draw really is the baked goods. They have a signature sourdough bread which is pretty good. You can also order ahead for curbside pick up or contactless delivery on Saturdays. Lots of parking is available, so stop in if you are up in Poolesville on a weekend. read more

Food- So good! We got the caprese panino (with bacon) and unearthly good veggie chicken bowl. The BREAD on the panini is so delicious and it's packed full of garlicky pesto goodness, complimented by fresh thick slabs of colorful tomato. The only improvement I'd make to it would be less dressing on the salad that comes on the side. The bowl (with sesame ginger dressing) was SO tasty and packed with veggies. I'm not sure how they marinate the chicken but it's crazy delicious. Drinks- We got an iced apple cider, maple latte, and pumpkin spice milkshake. All 3 were super tasty and came out really quickly. I'd highly recommend all 3 drinks! Service- Staff was really nice and the food came out quickly. There is water downstairs so you're responsible for filling your own water. Absolutely blown away! I live in the area and had just started coming here for coffee at the end of summer. My best friend came up for a day trip and we decided to come here and have lunch. The maple syrup latte w was also incredible but this, the milkshake, and cider are seasonal items. As for the food. Wow. My best friend got the salad and it was so tasty, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the dressing was light and perfect for the dish. My sandwich was incredible. I was craving a pesto mozzarella tomato sandwich and it gave me everything I wanted. The balsamic glaze and added bacon was fire. It was a tiny bit oily but that didn't bother me because the bread was crunchy and thick. The meal came out pretty quickly too! We didn't go at a busy time, so this may have been the reason for that. There is seating upstairs, ground level, and outside! The staff is always nice and never fail to be welcoming. Overall, I will definitely be coming back for another meal, not just coffee! Everyone else thought it was fine. I just don't have a sweet tooth no matter how hard I try! Fried chicken breast was very juicy and well seasoned. I'm not one for Belgian waffles (again too sweet especially with the sugar crunchies), but my partner really liked it, and it didn't taste like the prepackaged ones you buy from Costco (plus it was twice the size of those warehouse ones!) We had left overs cause we unexpectedly order another meal (aka brisket sandwich which came with onion strings and watermelon!) so that became lunch the next day. It's a beautifully updated building with lots of nooks and spaces to sit and relax, and the art work on display was awesome. Locals is awesome! I'm very passionate about healthy food so it's about time someone came up with the concept of sourcing quality foods from our surrounding farms. I love the menu options. The chicken Caesar salad is one of the best Caesar salads I've had lately and it's has become a regular order. The burrata with fresh tomatoes was delicious and so refreshing. I tried the ratatouille, it was really good too but definitely on the spicy side. I often stop by to get iced tea and coffee as well. They can make just about any espresso drink you can think of. Love this place . The rotating art exhibit upstairs features art for sale and changes every six weeks. This place has a cozy vibe that's lost on most modern coffee houses. It's great for socializing but it's quiet enough downstairs that many people work on their computers there.
