    Water ice

We are so happy with this new place! We tried out a bunch of items at our first take-out: pulled pork boat, pulled pork grilled cheese, Greek chicken skewer over rice, Mac and cheese, street corn, beef chili, matcha boba tea, and water ice. We enjoyed all the items. The chicken was so tender and flavorful and the rice was really great - next time I will try to order half rice and half spinach. The grilled cheese and pulled pork was a standout and the kids liked the white cheddar style Mac and cheese. The Philadelphia water ice is creamy and delicious and the boba tea was great - I don't like it when they are too sweet and this was was just right for me. This is a really convenient place for us to stop for lunch or dinner on the weekend and bonus-they welcome dogs and serve water, treats, and pup cups. We will definitely continue supporting them - what a great menu!!

Customer service is great and it's nicely decorated. Had the water ice in two flavors and it was great. Filled with flavor. I also tried the Mexican street corn stacked with BBQ pork. Felt like it was missing what I reminisced from Mexican LA street corn. From the moment I opened the container I saw amazing cheese and generous portions of pork but the corn looked a bit too, can of corn. The flavor was there but not the grilled corn flavor and Mexican spices. I'll come back to try the crepe and more water ice!

The interior is a mish-mash of decorations. It's sort of overwhelming.

I had a high hopes for this place. TikTok reviews were very favorable. Let's start with the fact it opens around 2pm most days. You want lunch at a regular time. Tough their not open. You want to get ice cream after swimming. Nope not open. We were the only people here at 2. The ambiance in this place is super strange, a mix of Hawaiian and tiki and cellophane streamers and odd paintings on the wall. It just felt off, like it mismatched. But none of that matters if the place has really good food. And fast service, which this place has neither. We ordered three items. Grilled cheese with roast beef ( they were out of roast beef) even though on the menu that's the prominent three times the size font menu item in the grilled cheese section that's supposed to catch your eye. So we got tex mex. it was a 4/10 at best. It was more sweet than tex mex flavored. The cheese was pretty basic, kinda extra gooey in a bad way, like wet. Then my daughter ordered the mac and cheese plain. It was microwaved (we found out from the woman who was preparing it ) and as a result was partially ice cold throughout the paper cup it was served in. Even if it was hot it was a white watery cream sauce with little taste. 1/10. we sent it back to be trashed. They offered to replace it with something else. My daughter was already not liking the food at that point, so she didn't want anything else until later. I got the Viet hot dog. It was for sure the best of the three things we ordered, and that's not saying much. It was clear the hot dog was probably microwaved again. The bun was not heated up. The Kraut was basic on it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there was something off with the brown sauce that was put underneath the hot dog. A 5.5/10. My daughter had a change of heart when she saw the ice cream flavors. She ended up getting the ice cream nachos, which are basically three scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, and some waffle chips. She got the peanut butter ice cream, and it tasted like the cheapest ice cream you can buy in the grocery store. It's not even made by them; it's made by Hershey. And it is very basic and overpriced. I thought for sure they would re-offer to give some sort of discount on it since she had sent back her food earlier that was ice cold throughout, but no, that was not mentioned. I left it unsaid because I wanted to get out of there. The woman who serviced was super nice. It did, however, feel like they should have a prominent owner working the space as well, because it didn't have that sort of professional feel that you would like to have at a restaurant. Especially for the cost of what we ordered we spent approximately $50 when it was all said and done. An absolute horrible value for what we got, essentially street food. Once again, I would have loved to give this place a good review since it's a short drive for us, but unfortunately I can't.

Orchard and ham and Swiss grilled cheeses

We came back to try the grilled cheese sandwiches and they did not disappoint! The candy that came with our sandwiches was a nice touch also! I ordered the orchard and my husband ordered the ham and Swiss. Very friendly service as well! We will continue to come back.

Excellent meal, friendly staff, fun place. I'd highly recommend. I had a delicious rice and chicken skewer plate and ice cream. Eclectic and fun offerings.

As I drove in the lot, I could tell the place was busy (a line in their drive-thru and lots of folks at the entrance (ordering or picking up, I was not sure). I was willing to wait. I saw they had some June specials and a few caught my eye: Brookie - Upside Down Pineapple Cake Jamaican Me Crazy Key Lime Pie Mixed Berry Cheesecake Strawberry Matcha Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ube There were some others, but I could not decide on which one I wanted (wished I could try all the above). I settled on the one called "Jamaican Me Crazy". The employee described it as: Coconut Ice Cream with Fudge Swirl and Almonds. I only got 1 small scoop since I was trying it for the first time - it was good. Next time, I will need to get 2 scoops as I really enjoyed the flavor of that one. The line in front went very quickly as I sat and ate my ice cream on the premises. There were several employees tending to the customers. I wonder if I can make it back before the end of June to try some of those other flavors, seeing that I have a $1 off coupon.

I noticed they added more lawn chairs since the weathers nice! The staff is always helpful and quick at serving orders. They have a bunch of flavors to pick from and honestly it can be sort of a hit or miss. The classics are always great though like the cookies and cream or butter pecan. I got the cherry vanilla and honestly that's my bad because I thought it would be real cherries not maraschino cherries lol. The mixed berry cheesecake was so good though, it had a mixed berry jam and graham crackers swirled throughout. The pistachio was another slight miss for us. I appreciate the amount of pistachios sprinkled throughout but the base was giving amaretto/almond flavoring as opposed to a true pistachio ice cream. (I also don't like amaretto) so that doesn't help lol but overall glad I tried the flavors and now I can try different ones next time!

Calling the selection good would be an understatement. Flavors and styles lined the walls, and they have even introduced seasonal spring drinks alongside their custards and Italian ice. I ordered a gelati, which came with two flavors and the option to add a warm brownie in the center. They also offer prepackaged pints to take home. The only item that could not be sampled was the not fried chicken, their iconic Shark Tank inspired creation shaped like a chicken leg, where the novelty lies more in the form than the flavor. Some flavors had intriguing names like Tiger Blood and Midnight Fantasy, and the staff were more than happy to explain each one in detail. *Midnight Fantasy: featured a chocolate base mixed with chunks of brookie. It leaned heavier with a slightly grainy texture from the cookie pieces, but the chocolate itself was not overly sweet. It worked best when paired with something lighter. The brookie itself was well balanced, with a fudgy brownie component and a cookie that had a snickerdoodle like quality. *Mango Italian Ice: had a clean, fruity flavor and a smooth texture. It was not overly icy and paired nicely with the custard on top. *Honey Milk: was my favorite of everything I tried. The honey flavor came through strongly, both in taste and aroma, while the milky richness added a smooth creaminess. It paired beautifully with the Italian ice and balanced the richness of the Midnight Fantasy. *Spring Break Soda: was an interesting take on a Sprite style drink, with kiwi syrup, blue raspberry syrup, grenadine, and cold foam. It definitely delivered a sugar rush. There was a tropical feel, but it may be best suited for those with a serious sweet tooth. There is likely something for everyone here, and the friendly service makes it easy to find your match. While I would probably skip the sodas, the Italian ice and custard stood out for their quality.

It was cold and late and didn't feel like going to that one, and it was my name day so when I saw a Carmen's location in Kentlands I figured it was my sign to go! I was a little disappointed that this location didn't have all the flavors that I'm used to seeing at the Rockville location. One my favorites is Ube, which they happened to be out when I went. I usually go for the gelati, and the options were your typical flavors, nothing too exciting in my opinion. But, ultimately cant complain because my name day vegan coconut gelati and mango shave ice tasted fine and it was like having a little pina colada in the middle of winter! Hope this location expands their menu so that we can enjoy all the wonderful flavors that Carmen's has to offer!

Fortunately at the nick of time we walked in and got what what we wanted. The staff were accommodating and even friendly! I went really simple here. A medium cherry Italian ice is what I got. For the size, it's actually pretty big compared to the small size. That size is for ants. I personally think Medium size is the perfect size where it's not too big. Large and bigger sizes is a bit too much unless you really love your Italian ice. The only issue I have is it's a bit hard to find unless you know the area well. It's inside of Kung Fu Tea as a heads up.
