So glad I checked Yelp while staying in the area and found this restaurant walking distance of my hotel. Perfect brunch/lunch spot with very cool decor. The mint green and pink is a fun aesthetic. The menu has so many amazing items that I wish I could have tried more! We got the Biggie Fries, Gucci Egg Sandwich, and Breakfast Burrito. The portion of the fries was HUGE and could easily fill 4 people. If I didn't order a sandwich too, I would have kept going at it. The egg sandwich was delicious, and I added pesto to it. To drink, I did the Cookies & Milk iced coffee and got another coffee to go with the sea salt & molasses flavor. I love the cookies & milk coffee but found the sea salt one too salty, especially when the coffee was warming up. I wished the menu had some sweet options as my husband and I usually order one sweet and one savory breakfast item to share, but the caffeine menu had so many sweet flavors that it was good! I would 100% recommend this spot to anyone in the area. read more

Locals only is probably one of my FAVORITE places in Rochester. I stumbled across this gem a couple of years ago and I still go to this day. Every single item on the menu is always so good, however, my favorite thing to get is "chefs choice." This is my favorite thing on the menu because you can go in there any day of the week and have something new every time, they just whip it up, and I've never been disappointed!! The service is always quick and enjoyable. Every single one of the staff members is very nice and accommodating. I usually, more often than not, go alone, but I love sitting at the counter, joking around and hanging out with everybody. This place is very fun and energetic, the music is always playing, and there is always new art every month as they host artists and their work, which is also purchasable! Every single one of these aspects is a reason as to why I continue to go back and will do so for a long time!! A :) read more

Awesome! After reading other fantastic reviews, I eventually tried this business! While it will take some time for you to obtain a table because of the lengthy line. The wait was really worth it. There are only a few delectable dishes and numerous fantastic drinks on the menu. The restaurant has a very straightforward atmosphere and design. The portions are reasonable and not excessive as at some other brunch spots. The restrooms were spotless and conveniently located. However, if you are using crutches or are physically disabled, be aware that there are many small places at this restaurant. In conclusion, I heartily recommend for an amazing breakfast experience! read more

Happen to be in Rochester a few weeks ago heading there for a tattoo. I was looking for a local coffee spot. I happen to yelp and find this lovely little coffee shop. I initially heard of this place and thought it was just a cafe, however it is an entire brunch spot! I was pleasantly surprised. The wait on a Sunday was kinda bad, however there was a reservation that didn't show up so we were seated sooner than expected. It does have a café feel to it, with light/modern decor and a lot of open space and natural light. We were seated upstairs next to the window. The menu looks full of goodies, including a variety of different dietary options. I got "THE Egg Sandwich," with a runny yolk and without bacon, and a honey espresso latte. The flavors in this sandwich complemented each other very well. The brioche bun was high quality, and the carmelized onions really gave it a kick. The one thing I would do next time is get it without mustard, as it was a bit sour for me, although that's just my preference. The honey latte was creamy and sweet. Overall--yum! Can't wait try the rest of the menu. read more

Very cute spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch in the city. There's a parking lot right next door that's free if you ask the host for a ticket to put on your windshield which is very convenient. I made a reservation which was helpful as the place isn't too big and was busy on a Saturday morning. I got the Big Dipper grilled cheese BLT with tomato soup for $18. It was pretty good (had spinach instead of lettuce and was on sourdough) but I wish there had been more cheese. My friend got the tots and sausage sandwich with potatoes on the side for $16 which she said was very good. I was really disappointed to learn that the French toast sticks had been taken off the menu so the breakfast options are very egg oriented (no pancakes or French toast or waffles). Prices are on the higher side for brunch in Rochester. read more

We came on a holiday and they were not taking reservations so we left our name and wandered the city for ~30 minutes until they called us and said they had a table! Definitely ended up being worth the wait! We started out with the Tot flight - AMAZING. Cheesy monstrous tots atop 4 separate sauces for dipping, what more could a hungry bruncher want?! We were very curious about the sauces but never ended up asking what they were so here is my interpretation: a roasted red pepper spicyish sauce, an onion dip, sour cream (that was easy haha) and a honey mustard. All delicious and super flavorful, I just wish I had 80 more tots. Thankfully I did not because then I wouldn't have had room for my Gucci egg sandwich! Which, was also amazing with the soft brioche bun, Carmelo Ed onions, bacon, cheese and greens OH MY! It was super flavorful and just enough to fill my happy tummy! My husband had the egg sandwich with a burger added (it's a thing!) and he said his was also delightful. It came on a croissant also which looked so delicious I forgot to snap a picture (hey, ya girl was hungry!) Oh we also had a pitcher (or two) of mimosas. Definitely expand your horizons with the Passion fruit and guava mimosas! We will definitely be back to this cute, super trendy place! PS the entire staff was super friendly (even for working on Labor Day) and kept checking in and just all around a great vibe! read more

Was excited for breakfast here and instead for $67 got a coffee that was distinctly burnt, over cooked eggs (asked for over-easy and it was cooked completely hard), chewy and salty brisket, bagel that had the consistency of one left out on the counter overnight, and burnt black and brown potatoes. We had to stop and get food somewhere else because we were just driving through and couldn't stomach it. Staff that took the order were very kind, but I got the feeling something was off because they all seemed stressed and as if they were pushing through a crisis. Food was good. Ambiance was nice. We didn't have a reservation and had to sit at a high top table even though all the other tables were available and no one sat at them during our entire breakfast. They need more regular tables to be able to seat more people. The service was fine as well. You have to pay a convenience fee to use a credit card so bring cash. They have a code on the bill so you think you can pay with it but you can't which is very annoying. Personally not a fan of businesses with a convenience fee for credit cards since credit cards are a cost of doing business. Glad I tried it but not a place I would return to. read more

I would have never gone in here had an option for my friend, invited me to breakfast with her. The reason being for the location and that I wasn't quite sure if the food would satisfy me due to it looking bit millennial hipster. I loved their website creativity , it's so cool you can click on the food they have in their menu and see pictures. You can choose what you are looking at beginning like go to caffein and then shows you all kind of tea . It was nice to not looking too many pages to order food and easy to followed. If you want to go there on weekend, call them a day before to make a reservation but if you call them a same day they would not accept reservation. They have 2 floors , ask for second floor, it's way cooler . They have limitation operation during Covid and get pretty busy . So during weekend if you do not have reservation keep in mind they would have table ready at 2 pm. Their kitchen is open and I kinda like the idea of seeing the way that they are cooking but in a same time you smell all the food Their service is great and fast and way too friendly. I think they become one of my favorite brunch places I absolutely suggest their sweet home avocado. It was really delicious and healthy. Their coffee and tea was okey was not wow let's go here for coffee or tea . The salmon sandwich was so delicious Their sides sweet potatoes was amazing try that for sure . Like the bright cafe space. Perhaps some plants or something to make it a little less cold feeling. The staff was great, very friendly! They were attentive and food came quickly. Breakfast was good. Teens loved the apple stuffed pancakes. Surprised me that a place with this vibe didn't have fresh juice for breakfast/brunch on the weekend. My egg sandwich was underwhelming. 1 egg doesn't seem like a restaurant serving but I guess I should have asked. So I guess it all averaged out. read more

I was walking around Rochester taking pictures and I started to get hungry. So I pulled up my map and it said that this place was one minute away I've heard of it before and I've been wanting to check it out so I was like why not?! Did not regret it at all! BEST French toast sticks I have had in my entire life!! when I was asked if I wanted a drink I asked if they had anything non-alcoholic and they made me a mock tail which was a fun purple color and tasted as good as it looked! And then in general there is the atmospheric element of the place, which was upbeat yet calming. On the interior design and decorations were aesthetically pleasing to me. All in all the food and the atmosphere had me dancing in my seat... quite literally!! Can't wait for my out of town college friends to come back and we can go here together! 10/10 read more

Went for brunch and took food to go. Tried the Dandy, a rum drink with intricate flavors. I demolished the sweet home avocado w a side of bacon. Took home a burger with bacon jam, a chicken quesadilla (which reheated beautifully in the oven) and the OMV. Everything was very good. This restaurant has a great vibe. Friendly staff. Service was great, food ok. I had the Louis V, it was good but was expecting an egg sandwich and it was really a sausage burger. (My bad) Potatoes were kind of tepid. Girlfriends bacon was meh. I don't notice these things often, but the place was pretty filthy. Bathroom had dirt and dust everywhere and the restaurant tile floor was covered with debris. Ketchup bottle mouth crusted with dried old ketchup etc. Not sure if the cleaning people were on vacation? read more

It just gets better and better and we keep coming back. I gave 4 stars the first time we went, but we've had excellent experiences the last three visits. The menu evolves and updates so today I had a new version of the Holy Bowly and it was delicious. I also love the Gucci egg sandwich. And we savor their tasty lattes every time! It's a fun, metropolitan vibe with friendly staff and talented chefs. You get to watch your food and beverages being crafted out in the open. What a great brunch spot. I have mixed feelings about Locals Only.... probably because it's associated with watching a dog nearly get run over in the street out front while his owner literally ran out into traffic to save him. My friends and I were the rescuer of the dog. This whole incident happened in a split second as the guys were bringing out our food. Aside from the trauma, Locals Only is a great new spot on Alexander. They have really unique drinks such as the Mango Mohito I had - totally fun and tasty with weirdly shaped mango blobs. It reminded me slightly of an alcoholic bubble tea! I had a dinner item, that had rice and tofu and tasted totally great, but I can't remember what it actually was... it must have been the dog-nearly-run-over trauma fogging my memory. It's a great little place to stop and have interesting drinks, so I will definitely be back! read more

As a non local, I thought this place was phenomenal. Loved the ambience great decor and cool bar and loft seating. It was pretty busy when we came here on a sunday so we had to wait but only 30 min. We got a few cocktails that were super tasty. The chicken quesadilla was terrific, great spicy flavor that just melts in your mouth. They were out of two things I wanted to order so I just went with their recommendation and it was great. Balsamic, green beans, chickpeas, spinach, and sweet chili - the greatest flavor combo. Something I never would've ordered but was pleasantly surprised by. I would love to come back and try their breakfast menu as well. Breakfast burrito looked incredible. My sister and I went to brunch at the locals only restaurant. We were escorted to our seat. There were quite a few people in there. All of the tables around us had been cleared. More guest were seated all around us. All of those guests were taken care of before us while we sat there 20 to 25 minutes. I don't have a prejudice bone in my body, but I do not like the way that we were treated, and when we decided to get up and leave we let one of the employees know and it was almost as if oh well we as black folk have enough problems trying to get through life because the way we have been treated. I will never treat anyone this way, and I won't allow anyone to treat me in such a manner. DO BETTER!!!!!!! read more

this is a 3.5 but I'm rounding up to a 4 because I certainly see the potential. I came for lunch on a Monday and it was not very busy. After a few minutes of looking at the menu, we ordered. At first, the waitress told the other person in my party that they were out of the Bella sandwich and gave him more time to pick something else. She then came back a few minutes later and said they weren't out of the Bella, just out of pepperoni. So he ordered that and I ordered the OMV, but they were apparently out of that as well. So i ordered the star power. I don't fault the institution at all for being out of certain items but it certainly would have been appreciated if she had told us what they were out of before we ordered. As for the food itself, it was good. I really liked the crispy chickpeas in mine and it had a good crunch. The breakfast options also looked great. so again, lots of potential but the service was lacking read more

There were comfortable cushioned chairs with pub sized tables for seating. We sat at the bar as all table s were taken. The energetic bartenders filled up in on all the idiosyncrasies of the place and happily answered all of our many questions. They told us that it was quiet for a Thursday night and that the weekends were much larger crowds which would not appeal to me as I'm not looking for a club scene atmosphere. I was happily comfortable. The drinks are creative and include interesting combinations of ingredients. We shared three appetizers, the sliders (my favorite), spring rolls (the side sauce was great), and the tacos with a tasty crema drizzled over them. The staff let us tour the dining room, basically a Ramon Santiago gallery. (The angel was my favorite). We went to see the ballroom as well as I had attended a wedding there 37 years ago while it was still the University Club!!! It was the same lovely room I remember and brought back wonderful memories. My friend was staying there while she is having some work done at her home so got to see the guest room she was in. As expected from a historic building large windows overlooking downtown Rochester, a gas fireplace, and soaker tub. Beautiful space. Some logistic issues with heat and fan not working so this was her second room that hopefully the new owner will address. We ran into their new executive chef and they have done a great job in hiring him. He told us about future ideas they have for putting their thumb print on things and they sound quite exciting. I thanked him for the time he spent speaking with us and appreciated his enthusiasm and forward thinking. All in all a most enjoyable time at the Inn and would recommend a visit by anyone of any age. So glad we have a community that cares for its historic buildings and their importance to our identity

Our table got free shots because one member of the party was celebrating her birthday at Easy Sailor (she also received leis around her neck). Cons: Expensive. Small portions. Food is OK, but not worth the cost. Drinks are VERY expensive. The vegan appetizers are coconut sticky rice, sesame garlic vegetables, and kung pao cucumbers. There is one vegan entrée: Spamfu fried rice. The coconut sticky rice was decent, but not filling. And it's hard to eat it without making a big mess, because they foolishly serve it to you in a small, overstuffed dish with no plate under it. So when you dig into the ball of rice with your fork, you end up dislodging bits of it all over the table. They really need to figure out a better way to serve it. The sesame garlic vegetables were quite good (better than the rice), but also not filling. My wife had the Spamfu, which was a surprisingly small portion given that it's billed as an entrée. The vegan bits of "Spam" were cubes of marinated tofu, and there wasn't much of it. Given that tofu and rice are both cheap, the cost of that dish was pretty outrageous. And speaking of outrageous costs, the fancy drinks were priced astronomically high. The menu is written in a small font and is hard to read, especially given the dim lighting in the restaurant. I had to use my iPhone to take pictures of it, so I could magnify the photos on my screen. The water carafes are impractical. They have very long, thin necks, which means you can't put ice in them -- and they tend to block your view of other people sitting at the table. They don't hold much water, so you have to keep asking the server to refill them. And the water glasses are too small. The restaurant really needs to get bigger (but squatter) carafes that hold ice, and they need better water glasses. If you're not especially hungry and money is no object, then maybe Easy Sailor is right for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

They had lots of fun drinks on the menu too. Definitely coming back here!
