Sample plate of Isle of Mull aged cheddar, Bonnet goat cheese, smoked anchovies, Italian mix olives, and peppered smoked mackerel. We also bought some venison salami and cheese for plane trip home. Great deli with attached restaurant. Very good stop.

    Very beautiful backdrop!

We tried a bit of everything, but my favorite was the crispy fried oysters. The langostines were also tasty, but they hardly have meat on them. The mix of broad beans, peas, and asparagus was very fresh with a light sauce that allows you to taste the veggies and doesnt overpower them. The grilled oysters with cheese and spinach was not bad, but not as good as the fried oysters. We also had the mussels with potato and bacon with a cider sauce, it was good with a very light flavor. The setting across the lake really makes this place! You can smell the lake and it makes you want to eat fresh seafood.

Stopped here on the way up to Oban, part of a loop through Scotland, getting back to my roots. We ordered a dozen oysters, which were absolutely delicious. The were the bigger variety, plump and juicy. They came out with two types of bread, one sundried tomato and one oat, both fresh and hearty. In fact, the leftover bread (smuggled out safely in my napkin) lasted the rest of the ride to Inverness. The staff was very friendly, and though prices were a bit high, we found it worth it. The area is gorgeous too, passing through lochs and colorful hills at every turn. The Fyne Brewery nearby is worth a stop as well.

We just popped in here and grabbed a raw Oyster and smoked salmon bagel before we hit the road ! Delicious oyster! And the smoked salmon was great! The cake we got as a take away was a miss, but its a seafood place not a bakery so Ill give them that. We had seen a presentation from the restaurant earlier at the BEST in the WEST Food festival. The put a lot of care into growing their oysters! We also buy their smoked salmon everyone and again from the shops! Would love to eat a proper dinner here some time! Hopefully in the future. Wish sea food was cheaper ;) guess you pay for quality.

The smoked mussels, marinated anchovies, and prawns are a perfect seafood combination for a light appetizer. I tried these three together with a side salad and peas. This was a nice light meal. All the food tasted fresh and well prepared. Would definitely recommend trying loch fyne for a quality seafood dinner.

Nothing like a Full Scottish Breakfast and it has been one of the best I have had.

This place has been on of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to. I ordered the Full Scottish Breakfast and everything in it was so delicious. The favorite high lights was the sausage because there was so much flavor in every piece of it. The eggs were cooked to predictions. Would recommend and the service here is so warm and caring.

    Loch Fyne Oysters! Great restaurant.

It was busy, although not overly so and service was reasonably efficient, if a wee bit over stretched at times. I ordered a second bottle of Sam Adams and saw it sitting on the bar for a good 10 minutes before it made it's way towards me. That however, would be my only gripe. I went for a cajun chicken sandwich and the sister plumped for a jalapeno cheeseburger, both inhaled pretty quickly. The chicken was excellent, the spices just right. We got small and shouty a pizza from the junior menu and she enjoyed what she able to eat of it. It's maybe worth mentioning that the junior menu is probably aimed at kids at least 3 years and over. The portions are, apparently, non-negotiable which I found a bit odd. The lunch menu doesn't run on saturdays but is really good value if you're nipping in during the week!

He couldn't eat it as it was so dry. Server very kindly took it off the bill. I had the appetizer ribs & 2 sides of veggies of corn on the cob & green beans & pea pods. It was tasty. We ordered a vanilla milk shake and just laughed when it came and tasted it. It was frothy on top but was as thin as milk with a little vanilla ice cream flavor in it. Not thick or cold as most shakes are. We felt embarrassed and just paid & left.

I can only review as a bar as I ain't eaten here…read more.. As a bar it is decent, seems a bit rough about the edges in a dive bar type of way, but the clientele usually are ok and the atmosphere always seems pleasant enough. It's got a lot going on, In that there is a club down stairs, food is served upstairs and there is also a lot of focus on it just being a pub. I've been a good few times and it's usually mobbed. I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. In other areas it might not be my first destination, but where it is it ranks quite highly amongst the places I would stop for a pint if passing. Sometimes it even has some unusual bottles of craft beer hidden in the fridges which is always a good thing. Could be a three on anther street, but a better option on queen street, so I will go with a positive 4 stars.

The wraps are well constructed and bites of flavor. The fajitas are also well executed and thoughtfully presented. The menu is a bit out there, but accessible to the open-minded.

I absolutely love chicken and it seems like every chicken place in the US is always deep-fried. This is grilled and so tasty. The sauces are delightful and even a person like me can have a fabulous meal cause they have a sweet chili sauce that is insanely good. Mashed potatoes are creamy and just perfect. The colorful slaw is low-calorie and taste delicious especially if you add a little of that sweet chili sauce. He told me I had to try it before I leave and that I would absolutely love it. I remember liking it, but that was before I got involved in Yelp and before I started to automatically rate and compare food establishments and tastes & flavors in my head. I'm on vacation here in Scotland and when I spotted the Nando's last night, I knew I had to have it again before I left Glasgow. Nando's is known for their peri-peri chicken, which is chicken cooked in a base/marinade/sauce made from piri piri chilis from Africa and other spices & ingredients. I ordered the Fino Pitta, which is a toasted pita filled with boneless grilled chicken at your choice of spiciness level, halloumi cheese, caramelized red onion relish, and garlic aioli. And of course I picked the Extra Hot peri-peri level of spiciness (the hottest spice level available). My pita sandwich was good. The chicken was perfectly tender and the flavoring from the chicken combined with the garlic aioli complimented each other well. P.s. my food was definitely messy though. Not giving 5 stars because service could still use some improvement.

We had been out at local parks, attractions and DIY stores and on way home, decided to stop into a wee gem I had visited in the past with mum. The Twisted Thistle is in the middle of Old Kilpatrick and area of the village appears shabby but the TT is a modern bar/diner located in the shadow of the Erskine Bridge. The interior is very modern and kitchen is open where food prep can be viewed. It has a mix of tables for usual covers and open area with couches for bar adjacent for relaxed vibe. Both were reasonably busy but not overly so. Originally we ate here on a previous occassion as the Lusset ( a former old haunt) didn't do food any more - and sad to say it was very, very run down. However, that was to our benefit once we relocated to the TT. This trip around it was a late lunch / early dinner. I opted for chicken goujons and chilli dip with steak ciabatta as mains. Missus had the soup n sandwich deal. Our youngsters opted for the kids menu with soup and fish n chips for the wee fella and burger for the youngest lass. All were very happy with speed of service, quality of food and we all had a taste of each others grub. Every one agreed on very good value/taste and quality of meals as well as over all service. For me, the goujons were light and crispy and dip was very aromatic - not too sweet and not too spicy. The steak sandwich was cheapest on mains menu (typically tight) but the roll came with chunky steak sliced with onions and cheese. The ends were a little dry but the middle was moist and tasty. Potentially a little expensive for the location but the OK bunch do fancy themselves as a bit up market :) and it was reflected in the high quality of both grub and surroundings. The ambience for a quite quiet day was really good with some ladies lunching in the comfy seats and some lads propping up the bar area all lending to a good atmosphere. The place is very clean including the rest areas. Unknown to me from the previous visit, I spotted that there is a great function area to the rear, so family events could be catered for too - a nice option to learn about. I would like to visit on a weekend evening to check it out then as it's close enough to home to have a relaxed night out and not need to worry about an extended trek home. Plenty of upcoming events with music / DJ advertised such as Hallowe'en, etc. so another reason to nip down on a weekend and TV monitor was on wall with sound down so may be a good spot for watching any big games? In summary; reasonably priced when quality of experience is accounted for. Very very easily the top spot for eats in the Clydebank area. Great big thumbs up. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186534-d7660613-r319907892-The_Twisted_Thistle-Glasgow_Scotland.html#

I'm a bit of a fiend for pulled pork so I went for the Piledriver burger with a side of fries and a Coke. The burger consisted of a medium cooked, juicy, tender beef patty topped with smokey pulled pork, onion rings and bacon and BBQ sauce, not to mention "all the fixin's" as they put it. Honestly, everything I want from a burger was there! The fries were crispy and the portion generous. If I was to change anything I would add some more BBQ sauce to the pulled pork, purely because the sauce was so good! They also do a breakfast menu and local delivery, next time I'm in the area those waffles are getting it! Looking forward to my next visit.

And it is GOOD! We were in the area visiting relatives and as time was getting on we decided takeaway was easy. The owner Thomas recently gave the sports centre cafe a full renovation; new look, new name, new menus. We've been desperate to try it. There's loads of breakfast and brunch options during the day but at night it offers up some classic American feastings. I got the black and blue burger with a side of mac and cheese. Because we all know this combo is The One, right? The black and blue burger consisted of two beef patties topped with blue cheese dressing and all the fixings on a brioche bun. The patties were cooked medium, were well seasoned with a little black pepper kick and were soooo juicy. My blue cheese dressing had melted into the burgers by the time we got home and just added to the flavour. My only little complaint is I would have loved more dressing, but I am a blue cheese dressing fiend!!! It's a minor thing though - I'm being greedy. It was such a delicious burger! My mac and cheese was also fab. There was a nice onion flavour to the sauce that I loved (I make my own mac and cheese with an onion based sauce). It was such a generous portion too. My whole meal came to £7 including a drink. That's hardly anything! And the meal itself was much needed after a late night of visiting. I'll be back soon to try one of their breakfast/brunch options too because they all sound fab. The guys at The Hideaway are doing some amazing food and it needs to be shouted about!
