My boyfriend and I had the most amazing weekend in the cabin ellinor. Such a cute little historic cabin! Super well maintained and cared for. The owners were great, they'd heated it up for us before we got there and made sure we had lots of firewood. Considering there are several cabins and the grounds aren't huge it felt very private everywhere we roamed. We enjoyed sitting by the lake watching the otters play and walking the beautiful grounds. And the location is great, so close to so many beautiful trails for hiking. I can only imagine it's lovely in the winter and summer as well, though fall was a pretty perfect time of year to experience this place.

This is one of those rare places that really sticks with you. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Loved the location, loved the cabin (Olympus), loved the grounds & loved the owners. A truly special place - Not to be Missed!!!

Living room/fireplace

Living in Los Angeles can make you want to run away from civilization, so we went to Locharie Resort. There's several different cabins you can rent all with their own character which is completely charming. We went with the honeymoon cabin Christie. It's water front and the furthest from all the others so it's very wonderfully private. It has a really small old school refrigerator which we stocked full of goodies from Pike's Place. The kitchen is well equipped for all your basic cooking needs and the waterfront dining table view is very beautiful. There's a fireplace which will have you sweating up a storm come evening and the living room area has another bed that looks out onto the water (perfect for afternoon snuggle naps). There is also a small porch with a couple of chairs for enjoying the lake and reading or knitting. There are canoes which people rarely used and were available anytime we wanted one. The lake can get pretty choppy out there, but it's amazing being on the water. There's a family of otters that will show up in the evenings out front of Onion Rock and we saw a couple of bald eagles. Wow. The couple that run the place are very adorable and good natured. If your a fan for restored cars Tom has a beautiful GMC that is worth drooling over. The only reason I cannot give this place 5 stars is because they were having construction on a new main house. We wanted to go for peace and quiet but the sounds of hammering were grating. There's a great little yard up with the other cabins that we relaxed in on Sunday, but never went back because of the noise and activity. We even tried canoeing over to a small spot across the lake and could hear the hammering over there. Oh well. No matter what it was the best vacation we've had in a long time. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

A quick review of some of the poor reviews give me pause. Granted, this is no 5-star resort, the…read moreridiculousness of some of the poorer reviews is unnecessary. First, this is a lodge... they have events, weddings, family reunions, holiday gatherings. That was exactly what it was designed for... think ahead and ask if there are large parties planned when you hope to visit. If that is bothersome to you, go elsewhere. Don't use it to hide behind a poor review just to be a stinky butt. OK. Let's get to MY review. Solid 4-star. This is a lovely lodge built in 1926. Nestled right off the lake, it boasts some lovely pieces of its history with beautiful view of Lake Quinalt. The lodge itself is lovely. Now, keep in mind, it's 99 years old and has adapted to many years of human evolution. Yep, not everything is prefectly fitted but they make it work. The huge roaring fireplace was a lovely place to nestle by and enjoy a cocktail. The bar is a bit expensive but again, we're in the middle of the forest. We aren't in a metro... everything has to be trucked in. The restaurant is lovely. Chef, kudos to you for what you serve considering being hours from the nearest large town! The menu is smaller but what they do, they do it well. Again, we're in the middle of the forest, everything has to be trucked in... and probably some staff! The community is tiny and I'm sure there are plenty of challenges maintaining the amount of staff they need to maintain the lodge at the level they do. I had the chicken for dinner which was absolutely lovely. It was presented beautifully and served piping hot! We'd absolutely go back again. Now, I'd want to visit in the summer when it isn't pitch black outside by 4:30 PM. I would love a dinner at the Lodge in July when you could watch the sun sit over the Lake. Go, enjoy, it's rustic, it's a little kitschy. This is not your 5-star Michelin restaurant... this is a lodge, in the forest, on a lake. It's lovely!

It has one nice thing going for it - the view from the chairs overlooking the lake and that is me being kind. We booked 2 nights and left after 1! The lobby and fireplace area are nice and historic. Internet in the main lodge is solid.

No working GPS or signal, and I had only booked this place on Expedia prior to my trip, since everything in Forks was fully booked. But let me just say... I ended up LOVING it! I especially loved all the windows that let in tons of natural light, and the porch out front was such a nice touch. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even offered me an upgrade for just $15, which I really appreciated. The location itself was absolutely stunning... Surrounded by mountains and overlooking a beautiful lake, it felt like the perfect escape. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this cabin is it. I was not disappointed in the slightest and honestly can't wait to come back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Rain Forest Resort Village has fireplace cabins and suites, Village Inn rooms and a RV Campground. They gave me a room with a balcony that had a gorgeous view of Lake Quinault. I enjoyed waking up to the sunset over the lake. The room was nice and cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Next to the front desk at Rain Forest Resort Village is a small general store that has pretty much anything you may need. There is also a gift shop and laundromat. The staff here is great and very welcoming. They pointed out a couple of hiking trails for me to do that were nearby. I was able to do the Quinault Rain Forest hike and the short hike to the World's Largest Spruce Tree near the lake. Lake Quinault and the Salmon House Restaurant are across the street from Rain Forest Resort Village. The downtown area of Quinault is just a short drive away. Merriman Falls isn't too far away either if you want to check that out. Overall, my stay here was wonderful and relaxing. You can't beat the gorgeous views of Lake Quinault from your room.

He had a lot of issues, and it was a rough trip. Afterwards my mom wrote the resort an email, and as an apology they gifted her a three nights' stay for free. My parents couldn't use it, so they passed it to my husband and I. I really wanted to love this resort. I really, really did. I also wrote the resort an email after my stay. As of today, June 3rd, they have not responded. I will paste it below. All the below being said - view was great. TLDR: if you have allergies to dust and/or mold, do NOT stay here. ---------- Hello, On May 29th - 31st my husband and I stayed at your resort in Room 17. I'm writing to be transparent my experience. My husband and I were excited to be at a resort for a couple days so we could have some quality time together with no responsibilities. We lead busy lives with our own business and had been looking forward to this for weeks. While there were many rules for your protected land to be respected, we did not feel that the space waiting for us was respected, or even cleaned, for our arrival. I've listed the issues we found below. 1. The jacuzzi jets left a disgusting orange film on the wall of the tub that I didn't notice until I was sitting inside of it. It looked like someone's self tanner had been inside of the jets and came out with the water. We had to fill the tub up and leave the jets on for a long time before this stopped happening. I took a photo after filing it up a second time, but the first time was much worse. 2. The window blind facing the water from the Jacuzzi tub was broken. So even after we cleaned out the tub and tried to use it, the blinds will not open, so we couldn't enjoy the view from it, which is the whole point of these apartments. 2. The fireplace did not work. I walked up to the office after trying to fix it for an hour. They told me that we should've been notified that all of the fireplaces have turned off because they are in transition mode. I had not been notified. The fireplace was one of the reasons I had chosen this room, so this was very disheartening to hear. 3. The heaters are FULL of dust. I am severely allergic to dust. As soon as I turned them on, I had a terrible allergy attack that lasted for hours even though I turned them off within 10 minutes. This kind of heater needs to be cleaned every season. Evenings were chilly with no fireplace and dirty heater. 4. The bedroom window had black mold on the bottom. I'm severely allergic to mold. We had to keep the bedroom window closed, and I struggled with a hives reaction the entire time we were there. 5. The lamp above the dining room table was full of dust. I could not sit at the dining room table without having an allergic reaction all over again, and I couldn't reach it to clean it. 6. Lastly, when I bought a fire permit at the front desk, they did not tell me we could also buy wood there. We drove all around in town to try to find houses that didn't just take cash (they were out), asked the gas station (they didn't sell it anymore?), and then finally went back to aske the desk, where they finally told me they sold wood. It did not include fire starter, a lighter, or matches. It was disheartening to stay here for quality time and to get away from my constant allergies, just to have severe allergies anyway, because the apartment was not cleaned for our arrival. My husband also suffered from a panic attack because within the time we had plans to not have responsibilities, he felt like he had to fix everything in the apartment before we could settle. I've attached photos of my claims. Let me know if you have any questions.

There are tons of spots. But I had a disappointing time at the resort. I only wanted to sit in the hot springs for a bit. The employees were fine that day. However the next day, my car didn't start, and I had to walk to the resort to use a phone since there was no reception. The same person was there but completely wrapped up in a conversation with someone, so it was awkward to pull her away. She told me the nearest reception was at the Salmon Cascades two miles up, or we could use the phone in the corner. There were instructions on the phone to use it, but it didn't work. So I had to give up on that, and they were still talking so casually. They really didn't care about what was happening at all. Then I looked it up and realized the walk to Salmon Cascades was actually five miles away, but I was ignored when I brought this up. I guess it was really important those two caught up. If I were to walk into literally any restaurant (which the resort has) or business, and I needed help with an emergency, I would expect to get help. It's just the human thing to do. Most people would help. But maybe the resort needs help with helping its guests, so here are my suggestions as a former hostess: - Train employees for someone in need of emergency services and give them up to date information on the phone and make sure they know the area. If there's no service, they need to take responsibility as a hub to help travelers feel safe especially when there are bears are everything out there! Plus it's just hospitality to know the area to help people out who are lost. It leaves a good impression, too. - Take a guests concern seriously and work with them to find a solution, however trivial it may seem. - Lower the prices while you're at it. Don't gatekeep the experience for rich tourists. Until these things are changed, the resort is currently a soulless cashgrab, in an area with such sacred indigenous meaning...

The only thing I don't care for is there are no hooks of any sort to hang your clothes on in the whole room. Especially, in the bathroom where personally an under the sink cubbie for the hotel robe doesn't cut it. The only 2 rods to hang things on are the towel rack in with the tub & toilet area, and the closet out in the main room. Very inconvenient. The outer portion of bathroom where the sink is, only has the cubbie. Initially that is filled with towels & bathrobes. The lack of a towel rack near the sink seems to be a growing trend at motels. What's with that? Otherwise, so far I've enjoy the in room Keurig coffee service and I'm impressed by the room's addition of wine glasses to the clear coffee cups & water glasses.
