This is for just the restaurant. We were at the visitor center and it had a sign saying Lochsa Lodge had food available. On a whim we went. Friendly service and good food at their restaurant. We got a couple of orders of their country fried steak. Having spent time in Texas we are picky about good country fried steak. I'm happy to say theirs is great. Crispy with good gravy. Soft enough to just use our fork to cut through it, but firm enough to get a good bite. Wish every place we got country fried steak was as good as this.

Location: Lochsa Lodge is nestled in an absolute perfect slice of Bob Rossian heaven, completely surrounded by happy (not-so) little trees, cradled by bejeweled peaks, blanketed by a gemstone sky, and always with the soothing uterine rushing of the nearby river the winds around it on two sides. It is ASMR paradise! Walking and hiking trails sprout off in all directions from the parking area and there are more just a short drive away including a lake alive with jumping fish and a hot spring. Rooms: The attention to detail in the cabins is truly unique; from the overall buckles on the curtains and the small wooden duck friend on the windowsill to the crisp snow white linens and the makeup face towel. Everything has been thought of. The bed was generously laden with pillows, allowing us to choose precisely our individual comfort needs. The windows were screened allowing us to open them for a wonderful breeze to flow through in the afternoons without bringing in any uninvited guests. The cabins are also just far enough apart that you have your own sense of privacy and escapism but also just close enough together for a friendly 'howdy' with the neighbors as we passed by on our way to the lodge. Service/Culture: This brings me to the culture of the lodge which is where it's real uniqueness shines. The lodge isn't just dog friendly, it's dog positive. Dog lovers will understand the difference. There's a whole shared culture built around the love of dogs. You don't have to bring your dog to enjoy your stay, by any means, but if you love spending time with your dog there is no better choice! Everywhere we went we enjoyed socializing and interacting with other guests and their dogs and letting them say hi to our dog and sharing trail tips. There are bag stations so the grounds remain immaculate and pine fresh and everyone was very conscious of dog etiquette such as leashing and asking before petting. It was dog culture personified but beyond that the owners bring this very welcoming family vibe to the lodge that carries through their staff. It is a perfect oxymoron: it has a stunning restaurant with five star food, a gift shop, a general store, complimentary bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, an impeccably manicured lawn, WiFi, and all the appearances, amenities, and luxuries of a city hotel married beautifully with the culture and emotional comfort of your favorite summer camp. In Closing: Would I recommend? YES! In fact, I already have. I spent very little time interacting with technology while at Lochsa (because there were just better things to do, tbh) but when I did, it was to tell my sister, my dog sitter, and my besties that they absolutely had to schedule their next vacations here. Will I return? I would absolutely love to! Perhaps with a fishing rod or during deer season. The air was so fresh I even forgot I've been a tobacco user for the last 20+ years and left my nicotine vape sitting on the bedside table, untouched, during the entire visit!

Can't say enough about their tent campground. Absolutely loved our experience tent camping at Lolo…read more We were surrounded by beautiful large rock formations and many cute little ground squirrels. We were the only tent campers for most of our stay, which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable time outdoors. We picked our site when we arrived which was a super nice perk. It was so convenient to drive just across the road and soak. This isn't your premium resort, or super expensive remodeled facility. If you need all of the trimmings of a fancy vacation, this isn't for you. Everything was clean, just an older more plain facility with concrete pools. Redneck luxury if you will. If you want a nice place to camp, to soak in some hot springs with beautiful mountain views and a very personable staff, visit Lolo. For a couple of farm folk from Kansas it was exactly what we wanted out of a camping trip. Extremely cheap to stay here, and staff were very nice and accommodating. We were within close driving distance to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs for a short hike to some natural springs, as well as several other hikes and views. Close by to the south is a grove of 2,000+ year old huge Red Cedars, as well as a park visitor center for information on the geology of the region. Camping 5 stars, hot springs 3 stars, all in all 4 star experience. Would definitely go back.

No greet, no offer of drinks, no menus. We waited. A few of us were able to play a whole pool game while others stayed at the table waiting and we waited. About 9 pm we asked a waitress what time the kitchen clsoed. We thought maybe they weren't serving anymore, she replied it closed at 10 pm and off she went. Mind you by this time there was only ONE OTHER TABLE IN RESTAURANT. A little bit later my daughter in law hobbled up to the bar while on one crutch ( she was recovering from a broken hip) to ask for a menu. ONE was given to her and then that staff member walked away!! There was barely ANY OTHERS THERE! And still we waited. More people came in. Received menus and then their order was taken, while we waited. We all shared the one menu, so when someone did come take our order it wouldn't take long. That we wouldn't be a bother for the staff to get our order. About 9:15 I went up to the bar to ask if we were supposed to order at the bar instead of from the table. The bar tender was confused and asked the waitress who at this time was behind the bar. That waitress explained she thought the other gal took our order. Anyway she came right over. She took our order ( with alot of repeat for each order, so she could write it down correctly). At the end she repeated EVERYONES ORDER and sent it to the kitchen. The drinks came shortly later. Then the food was delivered. Everyone got their meal BUT ME!!. Again thinking it would be coming shortly, that maybe the cook was working on it. She did have 2 trips to carry the food again I waited. . My meal still didn't come!!! Still waited!! MOST EVERYONE FINISHED their meal and still she never came to check. Finally someone asked her if my hamburger was coming. It was NEVER PUT IN for the cooks to make. So she said. We'll it arrived just about 10 pm. I asked for a go box and the bill because we needed to get home. Funny thing there were people that sat down at a table next to us who wanted to order, we explained that we thought the kitchen closed at 10 pm ( it was now 10 pm) and the waitress told them it was closed BUT THERE WAS A HAMBURGER THAT WAS LEFT OVER, WHICH SHE PROMOTLY WENT TO GET AND GAVE TO THEM. She handed me my go box and my bill. I have never left a $0 tip. I normally tip 25-30% (having been a waitress) BUT THIS STAFF FAILED AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY! Please DON'T WASTE your hard earned money on this RESTAURANT! 0 TIP AND 0 STARS!!

Zip-line : The staff were awesome. If I remember correctly…read moreit was Hannah & Garret.. I am not sure honestly. They were amazing and definitely deserve a raise. When we first began our adventure, a member of someone's group was removed because they were highly intoxicated. I was thankful for it because the man made my group uncomfortable. I had zip-lined before from tree top to tree top so I expected it to be that way. It was NOT. I repeat it was NOT. I should first warn you that if you do not like roller coaster that have drops in them, this zip-lining is not for you. I myself do not like roller coaster like that so I was in for a rude awakening. So, the very first zip line was a short hike away from the entrance but it very steep. My only complaint about this hike is there was no time to catch your breath before getting on the zip line. Also, there was no water or drinks given. It was in the high 80s on the day we went. Anyhow, once you are on the line, they make you show them the moves you learned for flying. I liked the idea of it but I did not like that you had kinda hang over the side (you are harnessed in but it was still scary). The first line was pretty short so I did not really decide if I liked it or not. After your whole group goes you hike up to the second line. It's not a bad hike but it is kind of long. Once I got to the second zip-line, I knew that this zip-lining was not for me. Once they got me all hooked in, I could not make myself lift my legs to begin my descent down the line. I should have turned back then because once you get that far there is no turning back. So, I did the second line and HATED it. I hated to feel like I was falling and could not slow myself down. Well, I could not turn back. So, I did the last two lines and hated them just as much as the first two because of the drop feeling you get when coming down the line. Ski lift: After zip-lining we did the ski lift. I would like to give it 4 stars because the operator who was supposed to slow the lift down and give some kind of direction did not. When we walked up, we asked to get a squirt of his hand sanitizer bottle and he acted like an asshole about it. Then, when we went to get on the lift he didn't tell us nothing after showing him the ticket. He went back to reading his book. So, the process of getting on the lift was funny because it scooped us up at full speed and then we were laughing trying to figure how to get situated while we were getting lifted through the pulley system and bouncing around. The lift itself was a little questionable because there was a lot of creaking and squeaking noises throughout our journey around it. But, it was really long & relaxing. I would definitely say it was worth the money to ride. Also, the same man who was an asshole during the getting on process did not slow the lift or direct us on how to get off. We made a quick dash off while still going fast and almost fell because we were trying to use a wooden step thing & not get hit by the next chair. But, overall it was a great trip.

We checked in about 10pm for a one night…read morereservation, so did not have an opportunity to explore amenities such as the gym, laundry facilities, pool or outside patio relaxation areas that have inviting cozy fire pits. This Hilton property is newer, maybe two years old. Homewood Suites has fully stocked kitchenette's including a full sized refrigerator, stove top induction burner, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, drink ware, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, Kleenex , extra roll of Angel Soft toilet paper, etc. The room was spotless, including the appliances. The king sized bed and room were thoughtfully decorated with modern amenities such as an upholstered chair and matching settee with foot rest, light fixtures, tables, desk/work area, LED lighted mirror over the bathroom sink basin. Plenty of electrical outlets, and storage cubbies and drawers and hangers, ironing board with iron and hair dryer. This was a king sized ADA reservation and my husband had ample enough room for easy maneuverability for his large motorized wheelchair. The floors were a newer style of an engineered vinyl like plank flooring. Esthetically appealing and easy to clean. Shower was nice. Small lip to step over. We had requested a shower chair with our reservation that was not in the room when we arrived. However, the front desk gal had just come on shift was more than happy to find one and accommodate us. While I was unpacking the car she met me and told me that she had left the shower chair next to the outside of our hotel room door. Service with a smile goes a long way! She was so nice!! They do serve a hot breakfast from 6 AM to 10 AM Monday through Friday. Weekend hours I honestly did not pay attention to. Today was a Monday and they had biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage links that were cooked perfectly. Two variations of scrambled eggs. One was plain scrambled eggs that were nice and fluffy. The other was scrambled eggs with bits of sausage pieces. There were tortillas, verde and red salsas, Cholula, Tapatio, Tobasco, cotilla & Colby Jack cheeses with cooked chorizo. They also had pancakes and French toast and waffles that you can make yourself with all of the accoutrements. There were individually Ziploc packages of two peeled, hard-boiled eggs, Yoplait 4 oz yogurt selections, bread and pastry selections, four cold cereal selections, overnight oats with chia seeds that appeared quite thick. Milk, 3 juice selections that consisted of peach nectar, apple juice, and orange juice. There was a pitcher of ice water, fresh hot regular and decaffeinated coffees, hot water with a nice assortment of tea bags and Nestle hot cocoa packets. Overall, an elevated breakfast buffet that the price was included in the reservation. I will applaud the housekeeping staff. They work so hard and diligently with attention to detail. I always inspect the room upon check in before unpacking my family. Not a single human or pet hair was seen on any linens, towels, sinks, shower, or toilet, and the hand towel was folded with a pocket that had a fanned out cute washcloth. Very nice welcome on the side of the bathroom vanity. Great experience for this reservation! Mattress was comfortably firm and supportive. She had to ask the owner, but when we came back after an afternoon in Missoula, they had moved us to a room on the upper floor and a balcony off the back (balcony could use some fortification or at least some reflooring for appearances). The place could definitely use some cosmetic improvements, but I get the feeling it's a mom & pop operation doing the best they can. The room was clean, the shower was clean and hot. The first thing that stood out was the condition of the property. Everything felt exceptionally clean, modern, and well maintained. I was honestly surprised by how good of shape the hotel was in. Whether it's a newer property or simply benefits from attentive ownership and upkeep, it presents much better than many comparable extended-stay options. The room configurations are also well suited for families. We found the pricing to be competitive, especially considering the amount of space available and the amenities included. Parking was plentiful and hassle-free, which is always appreciated when traveling with kids and a vehicle packed for a two-week vacation. The common areas were another pleasant surprise. The complimentary breakfast is comparable to what you'd find at Hilton or Marriott extended-stay properties, there is a small snack and convenience area for odds and ends, a clean fitness room, a billiards room, and onsite laundry facilities. It felt like a property designed by people who understand what families and road trippers actually need. Service throughout our stay was friendly and welcoming, and despite being convenient to the interstate, the location itself was quiet and made for a restful night's sleep before continuing east. Final Thoughts: Staybridge Suites Missoula isn't trying to be a luxury resort, but it excels at being exactly what many travelers need: a clean, comfortable, well-managed hotel with good amenities, fair pricing, and room options that work well for families. We would happily stay here again on a future Yellowstone trip. -AC
