No cell service & terrible WiFi isn't just a slogan it's a promise and I loved it!!! Lolo Hot Springs is in a beautiful location and has so much potential! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food. Pros: * Easy check-in process * Family-friendly and welcoming to kids * Plenty of loungers around the pool * Kids' life jackets readily available * Huge outdoor pool with gorgeous views * Women's side has 5+ shower stalls and 3 bathroom stalls * Plenty of outdoor seating * On-site restaurant Cons: The property could use a little updating and better attention to the overall ambiance. It feels somewhat run down in places, although it was clean enough that it didn't feel dirty or unpleasant. One experience that caught me off guard was when I purchased bottled water. The employee carrying them over rested the bottles against the sides of her neck under her chin while walking them to me. It was a very hot day, and I understand she was trying to cool off, but it wasn't something I expected when receiving sealed drinks. I ended up rinsing the bottles before opening them. Also, be prepared for snack prices. Everything in the snack area bottled water, soda, candy bars, and small bags of chips is $4 each. Those costs add up quickly for a family, so I'd recommend bringing your own water and snacks. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and the location is beautiful. With a few improvements to the facilities and some attention to the guest experience, this place could easily be a standout destination. We booked 2 hotel rooms with booking.com at 10:20 p.m; Apparently when we arrived to the property, we discovered, there is nobody on site after 10 p.m; Lady who was on the call was keep telling us that there is no reservation on file and there is nobody to help us since all of the workers live an hour away. I asked her what is the solution - she said I don't know. We were stuck with no signal and closest hotel is either one hour back or two and half hours forward; this was happening at 11:30 at night. I kindly asked her what is the solution if emergency happens, somebody needs something or you lose a hotel key... she said we have staff and hour away and she does not know. It is very concerning that in case of emergency staff lives an hour away. We did not get a hotel room and end up driving two and half hours in middle of the night exhausted. Pretty epic experience! read more

Can't say enough about their tent campground. Absolutely loved our experience tent camping at Lolo. We were surrounded by beautiful large rock formations and many cute little ground squirrels. We were the only tent campers for most of our stay, which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable time outdoors. We picked our site when we arrived which was a super nice perk. It was so convenient to drive just across the road and soak. This isn't your premium resort, or super expensive remodeled facility. If you need all of the trimmings of a fancy vacation, this isn't for you. Everything was clean, just an older more plain facility with concrete pools. Redneck luxury if you will. If you want a nice place to camp, to soak in some hot springs with beautiful mountain views and a very personable staff, visit Lolo. For a couple of farm folk from Kansas it was exactly what we wanted out of a camping trip. Extremely cheap to stay here, and staff were very nice and accommodating. We were within close driving distance to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs for a short hike to some natural springs, as well as several other hikes and views. Close by to the south is a grove of 2,000+ year old huge Red Cedars, as well as a park visitor center for information on the geology of the region. Camping 5 stars, hot springs 3 stars, all in all 4 star experience. Would definitely go back. read more

I heard they were under new management and it shows. Showers now have hot water and not ice cold. New clean shower curtains, robust dehumidifier in the changing rooms, and several new lockers. Water was clean and hot and outdoor pool was clean and refreshing. They don't take cash so bring exact change or card. They don't have water refill stations so bring plenty of water. Only got a 1 star because I couldn't leave a zero. Arrived about 8:30 pm. Not many customers. Sign said seat yourself. We picked a table to hold an 8 top. No greet, no offer of drinks, no menus. We waited. A few of us were able to play a whole pool game while others stayed at the table waiting and we waited. About 9 pm we asked a waitress what time the kitchen clsoed. We thought maybe they weren't serving anymore, she replied it closed at 10 pm and off she went. Mind you by this time there was only ONE OTHER TABLE IN RESTAURANT. A little bit later my daughter in law hobbled up to the bar while on one crutch ( she was recovering from a broken hip) to ask for a menu. ONE was given to her and then that staff member walked away!! There was barely ANY OTHERS THERE! And still we waited. More people came in. Received menus and then their order was taken, while we waited. We all shared the one menu, so when someone did come take our order it wouldn't take long. That we wouldn't be a bother for the staff to get our order. About 9:15 I went up to the bar to ask if we were supposed to order at the bar instead of from the table. The bar tender was confused and asked the waitress who at this time was behind the bar. That waitress explained she thought the other gal took our order. Anyway she came right over. She took our order ( with alot of repeat for each order, so she could write it down correctly). At the end she repeated EVERYONES ORDER and sent it to the kitchen. The drinks came shortly later. Then the food was delivered. Everyone got their meal BUT ME!!. Again thinking it would be coming shortly, that maybe the cook was working on it. She did have 2 trips to carry the food again I waited. . My meal still didn't come!!! Still waited!! MOST EVERYONE FINISHED their meal and still she never came to check. Finally someone asked her if my hamburger was coming. It was NEVER PUT IN for the cooks to make. So she said. We'll it arrived just about 10 pm. I asked for a go box and the bill because we needed to get home. Funny thing there were people that sat down at a table next to us who wanted to order, we explained that we thought the kitchen closed at 10 pm ( it was now 10 pm) and the waitress told them it was closed BUT THERE WAS A HAMBURGER THAT WAS LEFT OVER, WHICH SHE PROMOTLY WENT TO GET AND GAVE TO THEM. She handed me my go box and my bill. I have never left a $0 tip. I normally tip 25-30% (having been a waitress) BUT THIS STAFF FAILED AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY! Pools: This "hot springs" looks to be a glorified pool that needs some revamping, badly. It was very dingy and made me feel dirty. Office: The office needs some serious work, it is a confusing space, too many signs to read in one moment that are really unnecessary, but the staff is kind. Cabins: I cannot believe I paid for the cabin we received. It was advertised as a camping cabin, basic, no bathroom/water - we were fine with this. It was also advertised with a small seating area and a full sized bed - we received a cabin with no seating, an awkward small space that was not useable, and an awful futon that actually flipped up and off the ground when we tried to lay down to test it out. When we asked for an upgrade, we were told the last cabin was taken by another group of guests that needed an upgrade... seems we weren't the only ones that were disappointed. We weren't even offered an equal cabin with a better bed, and the staff agreed the futon wasn't great. And we were told "the cabins are rustic", but I wouldn't really call a crappy futon rustic. And don't expect a refund without a fight - we were advised to email their info email that will be forwarded to a "Dave" who will then decide - after reading my email about "rules" there is nothing about no refunds unless you're evicted. I'll be fighting this one until I receive every penny back. We turned our keys in shortly after checking in and left to drive 4 hours back to our own bed because we couldn't fathom sleeping here overnight, let alone the weekend that we booked. Public Bathrooms: Disgusting spaces, the showers are yellowing and look so so dirty. I would NEVER step foot in one barefoot, nor would I feel clean after using one. Staff: Super kind. The only reason I'm leaving 1 star. They deserve better & you can tell. Food: We ordered the mini tacos from the bar & grille and we were served what seemed to be microwaveable tacos from Walmart. We have frequented the pools for many years, they are old, comfortable and not gentrified and the pricing is good for what you get. The bar/restaurant is surprisingly good . We have even stayed at the RV park and had a lovely time. My beef with it is the cabins. We stayed in a dry cabin and while it wasn't as expensive as the deluxe (which were all full when we booked) it's that they aren't very clean or well maintained, they were meant to have bathrooms so there's a huge "closet" that unnecessarily takes up a ton of space, and the beds are double mattresses thrown on futon frames so they are unbelievable uncomfortable, unless your super into hitting your head on the useless headboard/armrest. Then to top it off there's a shelf screwed right above your head, perfect for getting a concussion, which is apparently common based off he fact that the screws were clearly stripped out of the drywall regularly, clearly not screwed into framing. Ok no biggie, it's a place to sleep and have a little fire when you aren't soaking. However, they only give you enough passes for one visit. They say they have WiFi but it doesn't reach out there and the table isn't big enough to play cards or board games. All in all it could be a nice rustic experience if someone put a small amount of effort into it. read more

I visited Lolo hotsprings one time in February with friends and will never go back. This is the most disgusting dirty places I have ever been to. The smell of mold and grime hits you as soon as you walk in. The locker rooms were not clean nor was the walkway to the indoor pool. The water in the inside pool had hair floating in it so much so that I finally had to leave. I used to manage a city pool in the south and never have I seen locker rooms or a pool so disgusting. The staff at both the lodge and the restaurant were super friendly and very attentive to the needs of all the guests. Some of the things at the resort were a little dated but that doesn't lessen the experience! Overall this destination was a great experience and we'll definitely return for another stay... P.S. CLEAN IS GONE It was very sad to see how run down this place is. There is so much opportunity in the location. The stairs were so slippery, I fell and got some nasty bruises. If only one stair had been slippery, I would have been able to catch myself. A family member in our party said she has also fallen on those stairs. The lack of cleanliness of the water in the outside pool was also noted by several in our party. A good overhaul and better management could rebuild this place. I swam there when I was 13. read more

For the price of the deluxe cabins, it's way OVERPRICED! Cabin has no bathroom sink, shower water pressure is horrible, kitchen table and chairs are CHEAP and cabin was dirty. Hair in the bathroom and on the bed. We did enjoy the great restaurant and bar. The pools were dirty and haven't been kept up. Locker rooms and restrooms need a good clean up! Will never return and will not recommend to friends. Would rather stay at the Lodge for half the price!!! read more

I've been coming to the hot springs since I was a baby, I'm 28 now. The place is shabby and ran down and wayyyy to expensive but we always came because it's close and we've been going for my whole life. Tonight we came and the attendant told us none of our kids could go in the hot tub cause it's state law. Okay cool. I said well I'm not going to pay to sit in their cold outside pool with my kids so I'll just wait in the car. My mom then said hey let's go check out the lodge and rent a room instead so we did. Then we went over to the restaurant after soaking at the lodge sat down and ate. The service was great and the food was delicious although expensive. the "manager" served us in the restaurant, added a 30% tip to everyone's bills which the menu says an automatic 20% and then waited until we all paid and tipped her she then called my mom a bitch, said we were completely rude and said something about my "f***ing" kids then kicked us all out. the "manager" said we slammed money down on the counter and called the attendant a bitch. We didn't even pay so there was no money slamming and NO ONE called the girl a bitch. We were quite polite. I was definitely the rudest one and literally all I said was "I'm not going to pay to go sit in the cold pool with my kids. I will go sit in my car instead" The manager also said they seen us on video behaving this way but she refused to show us the video. Even if they wouldn't have kicked us out I would not return there. read more

Cabins are incredibly clean and comfortable. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious with friendly service. We even got luckily with live folk music in the restaurant in the evening. We love coming out here for some R and R to get away from our busy live and it never disappoint. Highly recommend. read more

The stay was amazing you don't have cell phone service so it's nice and peaceful. It's not to far away from civilization but far enough to get away. You can get WiFi in the lobby or on the stairs next to lobby if it isn't open. The staff is super friendly, luckily when we went they had dogs the walk around and they were super cute and amazing. The drive to the lodge was very beautiful. If you are lucky you can see bears and deers! We didn't see no moose but it's okay. The rooms were clean, the beds where hard but what do you expect it's a hotel and not your house. They don't have cable or satellite by they do have movies down stairs. The breakfast is simple cereal/ yogurt/ and if you want to you can make your own waffle. read more

I don't know but Hands down the nastiest pool I've ever been in. I spent a week there and only went in their pool twice I learned a lot about Lolo Hot Springs from their employees not to mention 90% of them are all drug addicts. I went to mention How nasty the pool was to the employee do all of the hair and debris and trash floating in the water and she rolled her eyes at me so I decided to leave. I came back later that night brought it up to the female that was on shift there. She apologized for the rudeness of the employee and About how dirty the pool was, and then went on to tell me that they only clean it once or twice a week and that she has gotten a couple remarks about the pool, especially the outside one because of the chlorine levels are so high, but then proceeded to tell me that if I was willing to wait till midnight, when they closed, she could take me to a better pool, and then invited me to the employees private pool for a private soak. So I agreed waited till she was done doing what she had to do for closing, and I followed her down the road As I got to Granite as they called it, I observed multiple people in their private pool. She proceeded to unlock the door and let me in and showed me where to go to the pool and where the bathroom was and said she'd be right back I felt a little uncomfortable, so I waited till she got back with her dogs. We proceeded to get in the pool, I introduced myself to everybody that was there, and proceeded to have a nice soak everybody there was drinking and smoking weed, which I had no problem with, but there was a few people there that were partaking in smoking a highly illegal drug (METH) and offered it to me. I respectfully said no, and continued to soak. up until the two owners that had their dogs there one is which invited me there started giving their dogs a bath in the pool I thought that was nasty so I started to collect my belongings to leave, and then they started bathing themselves, so I was really disgusted at this point I proceeded to thank the person that has invited me. And left. That business has so much potential but the employees don't give two craps about it so I do not recommend going to this establishment. and I will never hands-down ever return to this establishment. read more

One star because the employees were nice. We made a reservation to stay for one night to celebrate our anniversary. I wanted to find somewhere we could sit in a hot tub. When we checked in the front desk gal was very nice and welcoming. She mentioned the computer was not working but could still get us checked in. When we walked into the building you could tell right away the place is very run down and the child hood memory I had of the place is completely different then what I thought. The front desk gals asked us what cabin we were in based off what our reservation said. I felt that was a little unsettling as we could have just said a random cabin and then gotten someone else's cabin. We got our keys and they told us we could go check out the pools. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. I went through the women's locker room, and wow it's scary. Very dark, dirty and dingy. My husband walked through the men's to meet me at the pool area and he said the men's locker room was dirty looking. When we got to the indoor pool area, we felt an overwhelming feeling of disgust. We both looked at each other and said "are you ok not going in there?" The place is so run down and appears so gross. We walked out to the outdoor pool and there's definitely nothing special about it. Doesn't look like any of the pictures on the website. There were a few people in the pool but the whole place is just very very run down, it appears there's been no work done or improvements to the place in over 20 years. We went to check out our cabin and it was somewhat nice. No real complaints that we could tell. I sat on the bed and it seemed very rock hard. It appeared to be clean though. We contemplated staying but we decided we needed to leave. We definitely and clearly overpaid for the one night, but we weren't going to go through the hassle of trying to get our money back. $250 for one night in a place like that... YIKES. We left and went into Missoula and stayed at a nice hotel and worth the price you pay. It's sad that this place is as run down as it is. It could be a beautiful and amazing vacation resort. With how expensive it is you think there would be money to be put into the place. I would not recommend anyone staying here. It just doesn't seem healthy or safe sanitation wise especially if you're planning on going in the pools. Disappointed read more

I booked this Lodge for our 15 year Anniversary get away. We were put in room #411 in the Out Post building. We were greeted by an overflowing can of trash. The building is completly old and falling apart. The building and our room smelled like smoke. There was a dead roach in the hall. Our room door had been kicked in and repaired. Our tiny small room was so outdated. Comforter and pillows looked so dirty. Sheets were old and disgustingly stained. Looking back now I wish we would have left but my husband and I had traveled 3 hours to get there we were tired and did not have another place to stay. There was a Rave party going on across the street with people high on ectasy and pot. They had loud techno music that played all night long. I did not sleep all night with the loud music and being cold because we could not use the dirty conforter. I could also hear a mouse walking around the room at night and in the morning I found a mouse trap under the sink. Absolutely the worst place that I have stayed. I complained to the man at the front desk and I asked for half price refund on our one night stay. He refunded $47.00 of the $100.00 we paid and refunded the second nights stay because there was no way I was going to stay another night. He also offered me a free nights stay in a larger room for the future which we probably will not use because of our experience. read more

This is a review of Lolo Hot Springs, NOT The Lodge at Lolo Hot Springs. Let's be clear, there are two accommodation choices, and I think we chose the wrong one. First of all, when we showed up, we went to The Lodge at Lolo (which looks really nice), but we had reserved a cabin from Lolo Hot Springs across the street. When we got to that office, the woman couldn't find our paperwork. She went on to say that she tried to call us the day before to tell us they overbooked. 1. If you couldn't find my paperwork, how could you call us? 2. I have no phone call from yesterday. She tried to tell me they never charged me, thinking that could get me out the door, but that wasn't true. The payment came out the week before. She then told me the WiFi password so I could prove that to her by opening my bank app to find the charge. Definitely a first, and she still didn't believe me. She called across the street to ask if they had room and told her boss that she had tried to call us (not true, which I said to her AGAIN while she was saying that), and said she never processed the paperwork so we shouldn't have been charged (we were). After she got off the phone she decided to give us a key to a cabin and said "I'll deal with the aftermath if anyone else shows up." Yeah, cool, that makes me feel great. She continued on by saying that she would need to find my paperwork and that she didn't remember processing our booking. We reminded her that the payment was already out and we were supposed to be staying here. Finally, she said we were good to go. As you can imagine, we already feel very weird about staying here. We also watched for any more cars to show up. Not relaxing. The cabin was small, but nice. We discovered our kitchen garbage was left full, which made us think about what else they missed in cleaning the place... And that was just check-in. We changed into our swimsuits and went to check out the hot springs across the street. The hot springs were undeniably behind on repairs and the locker rooms definitely felt icky. We went to the indoor hot pool first, which felt like an isolation room. The pool outside was big and had beautiful scenery, but too cold for enjoyment so we left. We went back to our cabin to change for dinner. This couldn't get worse... wrong. We waited a good 20 minutes before getting menus and another 15 for water. We ordered possibly the easiest meal they had: chicken strip baskets. One with onion rings and one with tots. Over the next TWO HOURS we watched several wrong orders come out to other tables, people leaving before eating, the cook coming to address tables about what they ordered and another waiter came by us to ask what we ordered about 45 minutes into that. We are both very patient with restaurants but when we about had it, the cook finally came out with ONE basket of chicken strips with fries... nope. He seemed remorseful and fixed that rather quickly and we ate. Meanwhile, our waiter has forgotten that we existed and has avoided walking by our table. We had to walk to the bar for our own water, and eventually our check and a box, which was its own show. We ended up tipping the cook and no one else. Back at the cabin was nice, but there were no cups to have the wine we brought (not even the classic styrofoam ones for coffee) and we went to bed. In the morning, we dropped our keys in the box, then went to the same restaurant for breakfast (because we had a meal ticket). Thankfully, we had much better service. IF you'd like to stay at Lolo Hot Springs, try The Lodge. Don't get me wrong, we still had a great trip but Lolo could be 100 times more organized and professional. 1/5 stars (because the bed was nice). read more

The pool and deck are in need of some serious repairs. I slipped on the steps by the outside pool and have a serious sprain from twisting my knee. Less than an hour after I slipped I witnessed another pool visitor slip on the steps with a serious fall. The pool itself needs repaired. It saddens me to see the disrepair of the pool, Lolo Hot Springs has been a favorite spot since I was a child. Will probably not return unless repairs are made. read more

What a horrible experience. We arrived at 8:30 at night to find that the manager had messed up our reservations and had given away our rooms. The person at the front desk was no help. No apologies, no refunds from her. There's no phone service in the area so we had to call Expedia from the lodge's lobby to get relocated to Missoula because there was no place else to stay nearby.My grandkids ended up getting to bed after 11 pm because of this mess. My daughter did peak her head in the "hot springs" room. It contained two dinky tubs and the people in there were complaining that the water wasn't even hot. Don't bother stopping here as these people don't care one bit about your experience. read more

We went and told them we were leaving and they said we could not have a refund. All the restaurant had was frozen pizza. The place was so run down and without any upkeep for what looked like decades. The restaurant/bar was the most enjoyable part of this experience. They had a very helpful and friendly staff and they were willing to make even the more complicated drink orders without question. I had a pulled pork sandwich for dinner and it was very good. The fries, however were dark dark brown and it looked like the oil needed to be changed. The next day I had the complimentary breakfast that came with my stay at the cabin. It took more than a half hour to get the food but it was delicious. My guest and I stayed in one of the cabins across the road and they were in poor condition. The bedding had holes in it and the bed frame was metal and it creaked and squeaked an awful lot. It was a bunk bed with absolutely no room overhead. The hot springs themselves were nice for a soak but overall rather underwhelming for a resort centered around the hot springs. There was a nice heated pool indoors but it was rather small. The outdoor pool was not heated so it was too cold to swim in. Overall the experience was enjoyable. But I regret spending so much money on an average stay. read more

This takes the cake for the WORST place I have ever staid!! Room was so bad, I slept in the car!! Hot Springs were pretty nice, pool was nice and hot, I will give them that. I had a reservation, checked in just after 9pm, soaked and then at closing, 10pm, went to my cabin. Holy Hell. It reeked like fresh paint fumes and mildew, and the" fresh" dirty sheets where covered in black dog hair. And what a depressing bleak cabin it was, cute on the outside, but with the bright white freshly painted walls, fluorescent lights, and a crappy bunk bed, no other furnishings, no artwork, nothing, it felt like a ghetto apartment on the inside. So I rushed back to the front desk to ask for another room. He gives me another key, I go back over to the trailer park, (campground) and the mini cabin he gave me a key to already had someone staying in it. I race back over to the pool offices as he is locking up for the night (the guy in the office was super nice!! I don't blame him at all that this place is a dump!!) I ask for a 3rd room key, starting to feel like goldy locks here, and the 3rd cabin is just gross, also reeks of paint fumes, there is a big pile of linens and (dirty!?) laundry on the bed. And it also stinks of cigarette smoke. The smell of fresh paint fumes (it was like they had painted it that afternoon, but didn't bother to even air it out, such a strong smell) was going to give me one helluva nasty headache if I slept in there all night. So I slept in my car. It was 39*F that night, but I just curled up, thank goodness I had a big warm blanket and pillow, and slept a few hours before I hit the road super early in the morning. After seeing room #3 I did make a last ditch effort and try to get a room at the lodge across the street, but he had already closed for the night. So I slept in my car, knowing if I went father down the road it would just get harder to get a room as it was already pretty late. I can't believe they are allowed to rent out those icky "cabins". Just a warning, you will be seriously disappointed if you stay in one. Though it is worth stopping by for dip in the pools, if you are in the area. Just don't set your expectations too high! read more

This business needs a complete redo. Very run down, bathroom facilities were awful, the hot tub area was dilapidated. Sidewalks, stairs were in need of repair, desperately. There were 70 plus customers, 20 chairs, one umbrella, which was a free one from miller lite! A throw back to the 50's and doesn't look like any repairs have been done since then. Would not recommend. We did not stay at the lodge, nor did we eat anything there. My review is strictly based on the spa and pool area. read more

Lolo is a pool outdoors that felt awfully cold and a covered cabin type of lodge that has an open-able roof. The cabin area was very full but the water felt nice. There was a drum circle festival of some kind the weekend we cruised through so that was interesting. The locker rooms weren't very secure and the floors were really wet. I think towels were $1? We only hung out an hour or so and took off. Not my favorite hot springs. read more

I've only been to a couple hot springs, but this one sits on the top of my list. The first time I went here was back in Jr. High school, but since then I've returned to Lolo when I'm back in MT. Even though the hot springs has a concrete building surrounding it, it is great! The actual hot springs is enclosed with an opening at the top, allowing for some airflow. The outdoor pool is a pretty good sized pool. There are changing rooms and showers and lockers at the front desk. I visited the hot springs this past winter and it was great to sit in the springs and then go run outside, jump in the pool, roll in the snow and then jump back in...very exhilarating!! I've never stayed in the hotel, but went to the restaurant and bar to eat and grab a drink. They had a simple but pleasing menu and good selection of beers on tap. I would definitely recommend coming here for whether you live in MT or are just visiting! read more

Nice-looking buildings in a pretty setting. Very pleasant employees. They have two large hot tubs with fresh hot spring water coming into them. However, I don't know when, if ever, they clean those pools. Every surface was slimy and we couldn't bear to stay in very long at all. We showered much longer than we were in the pools, we felt so yucky. Wi-fi was not good, no television in rooms but you can watch videos in your room. Library of videos available at office. Plenty of ice. Not much of a breakfast and no where nearby to eat, either. No cell phone service locally, but there was a free land line you can use to call anywhere in the U.S. Lots of large ants, even in the rooms. I flicked some off the bed and then couldn't go to sleep until I found all of them and got rid of them. Ants aren't as bad as other bugs, but still I didn't want to be bitten in my sleep. Later in our trip we found much nicer hotels for half the price! I would love to drive down Highway 12 again, but won't stay at Lolo Hot Springs Lodge. read more
