They have a very up to date and comprehensive collection of modern board games in their library to play (think Catan, Azul, and Ticket to Ride). The beer, cider, and wine options are good, but only in cans (Block 15, Two Towns, etc). The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. And the snacks are reasonable and practical as well. They have full bags of popcorn, pretzels, etc (like grocery store sized) so you can buy one and share. It's also open late enough to have time to get a game or two in. The daily fee is just $5 / person to play and gain use of the massive library. If you are new to town or just on your own, they have movies playing and a large selection of graphic novels to check out. They also host "Learn to Play" nights where you can learn a new game at meet other people. The owners are super nice and are always willing to help with rules for games and picking out games to play. Note: There is a membership fee that is waived if you are a student or if you are sponsored by a member. My advice is definitely go with a member and get sponsored to get that membership fee waived. Lastly, the games for purchase are more reasonable than most Local Friendly Game Stores and they have a surprisingly good selection given their small space. Overall, Gamagora is a great option for some evening entertainment and doing something different on a date night. I have had nothing but great experiences there and will definitely be going back regularly!

There's not a lot to do that isn't a bar in... Western Oregon honestly, and Conundrum House is solving it. For insanely reasonable prices (that lower even further with membership) you can rent table space for RPGs, gaming time on video games, attend costume events, themed tea parties (with incredible gnosh), enjoy interactive murder mysteries and far more than I'm going to take time to list here. All in a beautiful building full of art and whimsy run by incredible, enthusiastic people. They support local artists, writers, game creators and creatives of all sorts in a way you don't often see in this area. So comfortable it's a bit like going home, and every inch of it was made with the intent to build fun artistic and creative community upward. The owners are amiable, chatty, and proud of what they've accomplished, and they should be. Need something to do outside of the same old drudgery? Get here! Check it out, inquire within, look them up, they deserve the community's support. They opened six months before Covid and managed to survive it, if that doesn't scream worthy business, I don't know what does. It's nested on the second floor so pay attention to the sandwich board on the sidewalk, it's totally worth a short trip up the stairs. I recommend checking this out heavily. Perhaps the most check-outtable place I've ever reviewed. We will definitely return.

We are always excited to check out games we haven't tried before and love taking friends with us when we go. We've purchased puzzles and even robots for family gifts. They have single to multi-player available. Their LARP games can play several people to hundreds! When we're in the gameroom it's very convenient that they have snacks, hot and cold beverages ready. They are also so involved in the community. They offer weekly puzzles in the local newspaper, they participate in Buy Local First Corvallis annually and are engaged with the arts and business community downtown and beyond. I want to give a big shout to this shop before it decamps for Beaverton…read more Rune & Board came into Hillsboro at a time when Hillsboro retail didn't cater to anyone under the age of, oh, 55 and certainly didn't address the interests of broad swaths of the city's population. R&B made it clear that not only were there a ton of gamers in the area whose needs weren't being addressed whatsoever, but that a knowledgeable staff and a stable space were all that was needed to give that community a home. Also, to be so inclusive of women that my longtime gamer buddy's wife was stunned when she walked in and was not only one of several women in the building, but the only one not actively buying or playing... that's how you start to need double the space. I'll admit, I don't like seeing this place go and I'm not a fan of the trend I'm seeing. We lost the town's only bookstore to Beaverton. Retro Game Store's gaming club and Gongali also moved from west of 185th to Beaverton. If Hillsboro and Forest Grove can't find the space for businesses like these--the ones that actually build communities, create third spaces, and encourage people here to join in and become part of something--they're going to keep losing both business and interest to Beaverton, Portland, and other places that are generally more encouraging. Thank you for my cherished copy of King of Tokyo, more Warhammer gifts than I likely should've purchased my friend, and all of the hours you set up shop for your regulars and newcomers. You're some of the good guys in Downtown Hillsboro, and the place will be less welcoming in your absence.

Visiting them on a day they were open was my chance to see what they had. Unfortunately I couldn't check in here on Yelp because the cell service is not all that great down here, but I have pictures to prove that I visited. They have like every book and book accessory available, used and new. They are neatly organized by genre, which I truly appreciated. I picked up a novel by Michael Thomas Ford and a thumb thing for reading if I'm reading with one hand (whoever invented this thing is very smart and deserves a medal). I also got my mom a gardening journal as a possible Christmas present. My mom loves to garden so I think she'll love this. My boyfriend is a huge fan of Batman and One Piece and got himself some Batman comics and some One Piece manga books. The lady working the counter and who checked out books out was very nice and welcoming. She was also helping out a few people that needed assistance. With bookstores starting to become a thing of the past, Bob's is doing a great job staying in business and I hope they stay open for a very long time.
