As often as I have found myself locked out, you would think that I would have learned by now. But, no. I haven't. Today, I needed a locksmith to help me get back into my home after accidentally locking the door behind me while I was still in my stocking feet. Lock Buster responded quickly in a very professional vehicle with tools efficiently organized in the back demonstrating preparedness for almost any situation. Mika, the owner, stayed on task and had my door unlocked easily. Did it matter that I had tried using paper clips to pick the lock and broke a piece of the clip off inside the lock before breaking down and calling a professional? Not in the least. He was still able to get the door open and even took the doorknob apart to remove the paperclip so that everything was as close to back to normal as possible. I'll be adding Lock Buster to our HOA directory of professional service providers and recommending Mika whenever someone I know finds themselves locked out. Let me start out by saying that I've never had to call a locksmith service before, so I really didn't know what to expect, but I seriously doubt other companies are as accommodating as this one. I was moving on Saturday (7/6/13) and I managed to lock my keys in the trunk of my car. I called Lock Buster after finding them on Yelp and spoke with Mika. He said that he could be on site in about 30 minutes. I found that remarkable considering that that the weather was terrible, roads dangerous, and it was the 4th of July weekend. As it turned out, he didn't quite get there in 30 minutes, it took 40 minutes which wouldn't have bothered me anyway, but he remained in constant contact to give me updates about his arrival time. I was very impressed with that extra touch of customer service regarding just 10 minutes. When he arrived, he went straight to work to get my car unlocked. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worst and it started raining on him. Within minutes, it went from a slight drizzle to a complete downpour and he stuck with it to get the car unlocked. We tried to hit the trunk release button once the front door was opened, but the built in car security (Nissan Altima) had disabled it. This made the only access to the trunk through the back seat. As stated previously, I was moving, so my back seat was full of stuff. With Mika's help, I wrestled with everything and was able to open the trunk access, but I wasn't able to easily locate the keys. Mika suggested we open the trunk by pulling the manual release which is located inside the trunk. He and I cleared a way to the release and he crawled through the trunk to pop it open. Once that was done, I was able to locate the keys. All said and done, Mika not only opened the door, but was able to help me above that by getting access into the trunk during horrible conditions. Mika with Lock Buster saved me a whole lot of stress and anxiety! I was out of town 1500 miles away and my pet sitter could not get into my house to feed my cats after a part in the front door lock broke. Fixed cost! Honest, upfront, fair price and very responsive. Took our calls and texts immediately. Was at our house very quickly. A small business owner manages the business front to back, including serving as the locksmith. He's EXCELLENT and was great with custom service. He didn't damage our locks, he had the appropriate tools and was in our house in minutes. Other quoted services nearby charged a service fee plus a variable fee, which they would tell you after they were at your house and 'inspected' your lock and determined the method needed to get in (which could include drilling out your lock). The customer has no way of knowing or verifying they're getting a fair or competitive price, and why would the price be different if the locksmith has all the right tools available when they arrive? I'm sure there are exceptions but most locks from Home Depot or other stores work the same way. There's a better business model and it's Lock Buster. One all-in rate.
